Kim Delaney is pleading her case in a hit-and-run from 2022. The actress known for the show NYPD Blue is being sued by Dzhamal Badalov stemming from an incident that occurred four years ago. Kim admits to being involved in a crash in which Dzhamal had been rear-ended.
He alleges that Kim was drunk when the accident took place and is suing her for unspecified damages. The Emmy Award winner apparently left the scene before cops arrived. She believes it was for a very good reason.

Fleeing the scene of a crash is something cops tend to frown upon. While Kim admits to doing so, she claims it was necessary. In new court documents obtained by TMZ, Kim says that she feared for her safety at the time. She claims to have been surrounded by several people at the time. Kim adds that she had been fearful of any retribution or attack that might come to her due to her fame.
For his part, Dzhamal alleges that Kim was driving erratically before the crash. He claims she reeked of alcohol and initially offered him money not to report the incident. Kim denies any wrongdoing, saying the cause was third parties outside her control.
Since the end of NYPD Blue, Kim has appeared in numerous shows, including General Hospital. Longtime cast member of that program, Anthony Geary, died last year. The show announced they’d have a special tribute episode in his honor.
In addition, Kim is dealing with another situation in her personal life. Her husband, James Morgan, was arrested following a domestic dispute in March 2025. The two are in the middle of a divorce. The couple got married in 2022.
