The Bachelor Season 26 was notable for many reasons. In particular, the casting was eye-catching. Not only was Season 26 the first without Chris Harrison, but the contestants were quite noteworthy as well.
Season 26 featured among its contestants a Hurricane Sandy survivor, a Broncos cheerleader, a Miss USA competitor, a Selling Sunset cast member, and, of course, an Olympic athlete. Marlena Wesh competed for Haiti in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Marlena would go on to tie for 10th place in her season of The Bachelor, but that wasn’t where romance ended for the sprinter. On Christmas Day, Marlena announced that her boyfriend, Tommaso Martelli, had proposed to her.
Former Bachelor contestants congratulate Marlena
On December 25, Marlena announced her engagement via Instagram, writing in her caption, “I have so much I want to say … But I can’t find the words right now. Thank you [Tommy] for being intentional with my heart. Thank you for loving me in strength and in weakness. Thank you for fighting for me. Thank you for always choosing me.”
She further wrote, “I will never forget this day. A million times yes. I am so excited for this next chapter in our love story. Marlena Martelli has a nice [ring] to it.” Marlena’s followers and friends showed up in full force to offer their congratulations, including some other Bachelor Season 26 alums.
Cassidy Timbrooks commented, “This is so wonderful! I am so so happy for you both. Congratulations Marlena 
” while Mara Agrait wrote, “Ahhhhh this is so incredible! so happy for you … you deserve all the love in the world. So glad you found it LY.” Melina Nasab also added, “I can’t stop saying Marlena Martelli omg it has the nicest ring to it.”
