The Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8 finale has finally arrived, but what went down in Episode 16? A lot of kissing, as Jessika vowed to play games with Luka. Unfortunately for her, she’s not very good at sticking to a plan of action. We also saw the return of Natalya, which turned out to be a bit overhyped, much like the rest of the season. Here’s everything that happened in Below Deck Med Season 8, Episode 16: “Guess Who’s Coming For Dinner.”
Natalya plans her big return
Natalya left earlier on in the season, because she couldn’t handle the mental toll of her boyfriend sleeping with other women. While they were in an open relationship, he seemed to want it to only be open for him. So, she prepared her comeback on the final crew night out, by sending secret texts to Jack and Luka. “Tell your girlfriend her services won’t be needed anymore,” she teases Luka. He flirts right back, while stealing kisses with Jess and having his hands all over her whenever he can. I liked Luka before these final few episodes. He’s now proven himself to be a bit of a rat.
As for the final charter? The crew do their best with what they have. They’re stuck at the dock, so they plan an excursion, and a private foam party at the local beach club. Sadly, Max doesn’t know how to follow instructions. So the foam party doesn’t start out great. Kyle’s on hand to actually get some bubbles flowing, though, and the guests seem happy enough once it’s all underway.
After a delicious final night dinner, the guests leave the next day, mostly happy. Except Dr. Douchebag. He’s still mad at his partner for breathing in the wrong direction.
This charter season, the crew made $182,000 USD in tips. That boils down to almost $15,000 per person. Not bad at all!
You get a kiss, and you get a kiss!
It’s the final crew night out! After dinner with Captain Sandy, where Jess got wasted and called Luka a “f*ck boy” in front of everybody, after learning he had been texting Below Deck alum Katie Flood, and looking excited while doing so. At least, according to Kyle. The group then headed to the club. Sandy wisely went back to the yacht.
At the club, Natalya made her grand return. Except, it was kinda pants. She made up with Kyle, who said he was “genuinely” sorry. Natalya noted she shouldn’t have inserted herself into a conversation about the LGBTQ+ community. But it was Jess who decided to start the messy Olympics.
She grabbed a random dude and started making out with him. This gave Natalya and Luka the green light to also start making out, right in front of Jess. Max didn’t love it, and said it was in that moment he started to lose respect for Luka.
In the end, Max actually proved himself to be the biggest gentleman of the season as the group returned to the yacht. He thought Luka’s actions with Natalya were classless, and even asked Lily for permission to kiss Jess so she could have some revenge.
Strangely, Lily then got upset when the kiss happened, and Jess went running back to Luka’s cabin anyway. Lara tells Jess she needs “a mental f*cking check,” and to gain some respect for herself. I’m sure those words rang clear the next morning when the regret of sleeping with Luka yet again crept in. Lily seemed to forgive Max, too. The pair enjoyed a steamy session in a guest cabin.
Time to (finally) say goodbye
With hangovers galore, the time came for the crew to say goodbye. Lily was first off the boat, sent to a doctor for an injured leg. Haleigh and Max were next, and while this wasn’t the latter’s best season, he makes for great TV. I’d love to see both of these two back in the future. They’re good vibes. Most of the time.
Jess says goodbye, promising in confessional she’s “learned a big lesson” with Luka. So, again, it’s odd when the two say they’ll see each other soon. As quickly as Jess has left the boat, Luka is texting Natalya, preparing to meet her as soon as he departs. He’s plummeted so deeply when it comes to gaining any respect. Still, he’s banging uglies with an OnlyFans model now. Maybe he’s learned commitment?
Lara and Jack are next off, and then comes Kyle’s time. He has an emotional farewell with Captain Sandy. Kyle thanks her for the “opportunity” to change, and calls her a “really good friend,” as well as a boss. She tells him not to forget he’s a “good person.” I really hope he has changed.
Finally, Luka and Tumi go. They get some love from Captain Sandy for their leadership. As credits begin to roll, Tumi says she needs a vacation and a therapist. After this exhausting season, so do the viewers!
