Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s kids, Archie and Lilibet, will join a private school starting this week. Ahead of it, the Sussexes’ neighbors in the Cotswolds received a letter outlining strict rules around the royal kids. They have been warned not to capture the children or their pupils or share images of them on social media. The letter stated that these regulations were put in place because school officials are aware that the arrival of the Sussexes may attract more public attention.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Page Six that the school officials reached out to the residents of the Cotswolds via a warning letter, where they detailed strict rules around high-profile students. She said, “The message sent to families essentially said that, from time to time, some families joining the school may attract a greater level of public or media interest.”

The letter cited that through this warning, they want to ensure that the kids remain in a safe and happy environment while enjoying their school lives simultaneously. Schofield further added, “It then reminded parents and carers not to photograph or film other children without permission, or share photographs, information or details about pupils or their families on social media.”

Previously, Schofield claimed that Harry and Markle’s neighbors in the Cotswolds are more concerned than excited about their arrival. She said that these neighbors are usually welcoming towards high-profile celebrities, but they accept that they remain low-profile and do not make a fuss about their presence.

The royal expert noted that though the residents are accustomed to being surrounded by wealthy individuals, Markle and Harry’s situation seems unusual to them. She added that one piece of advice that they particularly want the royal couple to follow is to settle into the community quietly and avoid drawing attention.

“Shut up for at least eight months!” and “Harry needs to respect the community,” she added, referring to the locals’ blunt warning to the Sussexes. They want the couple to be “incredibly boring” and not bring a “circus” into their community, as they are aware that wherever the couple goes, attention follows.

Donald Trump’s Administration Asked to ‘Stop Doing Memes’ Amid Canada Trade Fight

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney had a blunt message for the Trump administration, and it involved memes. The Canadian leader fired back at Washington’s tactics as the U.S.-Canada trade fight took an unexpected turn.

Mark Carney has a message for Donald Trump’s administration

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told the Trump administration to “stop doing memes, stop throwing shade and stop trying to be tough,” the Associated Press. He added that trade talks could resume once Washington became serious about negotiations. Carney further accused the U.S. of pursuing terms that would leave Canadian industries “gradually wound down in Canada and wiped out.”

His comments followed a fresh wave of attacks from Washington after trade talks collapsed on Aug. 21. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump moved to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America” and taunted Canada on social media. Additionally, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Canada could not go “tit for tat” with an economy 13 times larger.

Separately, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth mocked the Canadian military online by posting an image of two female cadets. He also added the words “this is real” alongside a Canadian flag. In response, Carney called the post “beneath their office,” while the Pentagon said the post “speaks for itself.”

Beyond that, Carney said the U.S. approach would have turned Canadian industries into subsidiaries of American companies. He also added Washington sought an “uncompetitive” deal for key industries, including autos. Moreover, the prime minister said the U.S. pushed changes affecting French-language and cultural protections.

“Canada is a sovereign state. We will strike free trade deals with the countries we wish to strike free trade deals,” Carney said. He also noted there had been “mutually beneficial” elements before the talks broke down.

Meanwhile, Nelson Wiseman, a professor emeritus at the University of Toronto, said Trump’s annexation threats carry particular weight in Quebec. “Quebecers have the most to lose in an apocalyptic scenario where the U.S. absorbs Canada,” he said. Since then, Trump imposed 50% tariffs on roughly $20 billion in Canadian goods after talks collapsed. Canada’s retaliatory tariffs on nearly $20 billion in U.S. goods take effect Sept. 8.
