Was Annemarie Wiley Redeemed After the RHOBH Reunion?

Photo by Rich Polk/Bravo via Getty Images

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 newbie Annemarie Wiley has been a polarizing presence on the show. She first appeared at Kyle Richards’ weed dinner. Annemarie is confident and not afraid to speak her mind. Unfortunately, quizzing Sutton Stracke about her medical issues and arguing with Crystal Kung Minkoff didn’t win her many fans. As Season 13 winds down, will Annemarie Wiley be redeemed after the RHOBH reunion?

Should Annemarie Be One and Done?

Annemarie landed on both Sutton’s and Crystal’s bad side after questioning Sutton’s esophageal issues. Annemarie claimed that Sutton’s esophageal problems were caused by an eating disorder. But when Crystal slammed Annemarie for that remark, the new housewife denied saying it. In fact, she claimed that Crystal made the accusation. Crystal struggles with an eating disorder, so that is something that she would never say.

At a gala, the ladies were once again discussing, you guessed it: Sutton’s esophagus. Crystal repeated Annemarie’s claim that Sutton had an eating disorder. Just like before, Annemarie blamed Crystal.

Finally, Crystal shared that Annemarie told her that she was a doctor, not a nurse. “You’re such a bitch!” Crystal yelled at Annemarie. Well, the cast was happy that Crystal found her voice, but her timing wasn’t the best.

In Barcelona, Crystal and Annemarie continued to squabble. According to Annemarie, Crystal insulted her co-stars’ education and intelligence. But, when Crystal suffered a medical scare because of her high blood pressure, the nurse anesthetist consoled her until the ambulance arrived.

Annemarie’s medical comments sparked a backlash

Others haven’t been as forgiving regarding Annemarie’s comments. Page Six reported that The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) spoke out about Annemarie’s treatment of Sutton. “The Real Housewives know a fake. Anesthesiologists are medical doctors with more than 12 years of higher education and up to 16,000 hours of clinical training,” the group posted on Instagram.

Annemarie clapped back in her Instagram Story. “I do not condone the ASA’s defamation campaign. I am a CRNA, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist,” she wrote. She continued, “I am extremely proud of my profession. I will not be accused of title misappropriation because a cast mate needed a storyline on a reality TV show. This is my real life and my career,” she added.

During a guest appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Annemarie discussed the ASA’s comments about her. “They don’t love the fact that I’m a CRNA on a reality show,” she shared. “I’m bringing a lot of awareness and a lot of advocacy to CRNA’s.”

Reunion Reveal

During the Season 13 reunion, Annemarie seemed vulnerable and honest. She explained that her interest in Sutton’s esophagus started because of the odd way that the information was relayed. She apologized to Sutton, and it seemed genuine.

Then RHOBH fans learned something about Annemarie’s family. While she was filming, her mother was seriously ill. Sadly, Annemarie’s mother recently passed away.

Host Andy Cohen offered his condolences on her loss. “And all of this was going on while you were filming the show. You didn’t share it with the others,” Andy stated. “At a certain point, I was like, ‘You know what? I just want to compartmentalize and not have to [share],’” Annemarie stated.

Annemarie confirmed to The Daily Dish, that her mother passed away three months after filming wrapped. She was suffering from Stage IV lung cancer.

Knowing that Annemarie was dealing with this stressful and sad situation, but didn’t share it with her co-stars, makes her more sympathetic and human to fans.

Are the fans swayed by the reunion performance to want her back?

The newbie housewife came on strong during the season, and it turned off viewers. She also refused to own her behavior, often trying to shift the blame to someone else. If she had owned her actions and comments, and apologized, it wouldn’t have been such a bumpy road with the ladies.

Annemarie seemed sympathetic at the reunion. She apologized to Sutton for her esophageal obsession, and Sutton accepted.

It was moving to see how emotional she was about her mother. I think that if viewers had seen more heart-felt emotion from Annemarie during the season, it would have swayed their feelings.

Basically, I think that Annemarie’s earlier interactions on the show set most of the viewers against her. But her performance at the reunion may have redeemed her enough to have her return to create drama with Crystal.

The Women Have Taken Over On Vanderpump Rules Season 11, and It’s Awesome

Vanderpump Rules

Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules is all about the women! Not only do they outnumber the boys this season but they’ve taken center stage. They appear to be calling all the shots this year and are no longer reliant on validation from the boys. Thank god!

While Season 10 was undoubtedly difficult for the whole cast, the ladies showed us you can turn lemons into lemonade, or at least some seriously lucrative business opportunities. Scandoval left Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz with their tails between their legs, meanwhile Ariana Madix has become the “number one guy in the group.”

We’re loving this new surge of girl power on VPR. Let’s be honest, we’d rather watch the women gossip over mocktails than watch another sad scene of the boys talking about their struggling business. Yawn!

Here are all the reasons the women of Vanderpump Rules are winning this season.

They Have All the Power

Not only do the women have the numbers on their side, they also have the support of fans. Sandoval and Schwartz aren’t exactly popular with the viewers right now, whereas the girls are more beloved than ever. Love that.

The ladies on VPR used to be subjected to more ridicule than the men. Such is life. But boy, how times have changed. Now Sandoval and Schwartz are in the hot seat.

Ariana is clearly the queen of the season and she knows it. We’ve been enjoying watching her masterclass on how to create and keep boundaries play out on VPR. If you want to be in the queen’s orbit, Sandoval can’t be your plus one. Duh!

They Are All Thriving

The women have reached new peaks this season both professionally and personally. Ariana has a new man, a new cocktail book, and several exciting career ventures on the horizon. Scheana Shay is busy juggling a hit podcast and burgeoning DJ career, all while being a mom to her adorable two-year-old daughter, Summer Moon. Katie Maloney is dedicated to opening her and Ariana’s sandwich shop. Meanwhile, Lala Kent has her hands full running a successful beauty brand and raising her daughter Ocean.

While the women seem to climbing the ladder of success, Sandoval and Schwartz seem to be floundering. Their bar Schwartz & Sandy’s took a major hit after Scandoval, with fans leaving one-star reviews on their website and writing #TeamAriana in the bathroom. Yikes.

The women appear to be united front this season. They (minus Rachel Leviss, obvi) came to Ariana’s defense at the Season 10 reunion, letting Sandoval know he messed up big time.

We loved seeing the female cast support Ariana in the Season 11 premiere. She returned to TomTom for the first time since finding out about the affair and naturally, the bar brought up a lot of painful memories for her. It was a hard scene to watch. Thankfully, her group of girlfriends were totally there for her. They checked in with her and made sure she felt comfortable in the space. It was nice to see this moment of sisterhood on the show.

They Are Easy to Root For

Vanderpump Rules has historically been a cast full of villains. It was hard to root for any of them in the early seasons. Back then, everyone was drinking too much, cheating, and shouting in the back alley of SUR. If it wasn’t so iconic it would be depressing.

We thought they would never grow up but they did. While the boys still have some work to do, the ladies of VPR have ditched the party lifestyle and become successful businesswomen. They’ve matured and realized there is more to life than blacking out in Vegas. Love that for them.

It’s easy to root for the ladies this season. They’re strong, passionate, and not willing to put up with any BS. Let’s be real, it’s way more fun watching Ariana kill it at photoshoots than watching Sandoval plunge into an ice bath.

A Breakdown of the Intense Super Tease Trailer for The Valley

The Valley trailer breakdown
Photo by: Felix Kunze/Gizelle Hernandez/Bravo via Getty Images

I was not at all thrilled with the idea of having Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright back on the small screen, but my views have changed. With Vanderpump Rules Season 11 being so boring, I kind of need a bit more, so I’m hoping The Valley will be able to provide that. The OG couple and Kristen Doute haven’t been actively on Bravo for some time, but would could possibly be going on in their lives that made them worthy of a spinoff? We are about to find out, thanks to the super tease that just dropped. Here’s a breakdown of the latest trailer for The Valley.

Adulting in The Valley

There is no denying that adulting is hard for pretty much everyone. But I think the trailer of The Valley said it best when it noted that Los Angeles is where the young kids go to parties, and The Valley is where those former young kids go to retire, i.e., have families and get married.

The trailer showed the newest Bravolebs hard at work as they raised their young children. Between preparing for birthing classes, mowing the lawn, and making sure there was a hot dinner every night, I pretty much think They Valley might be the best contraception out there right now.

Tom Schwartz Predicts The Future for Jax and Brittany

Jax Taylor in The Valley

In the new teaser trailer, Jax opened up about his current place in life, telling Tom Schwartz that he was in a phase where he could sit back and relax and enjoy fatherhood because he had financial security, notin, “I have a beautiful son. I got a beautiful bar. I got money in the bank.”

It seems Jax’s pockets got deeper after he opened up Jax’s Studio City, a sports bar he co-owns with his wife. Tom was at his friend’s side to help him celebrate the big achievement. But the TomTom owner came with a pretty direct message telling the former villain, “It’s only a matter of time before you’re gonna be living with me. Divorced and miserable.”

Just last week, news broke that Britanny had moved into her own home for a trial separation. The mother of one claimed it was for her mental health. When Jax was cornered by the paparazzi, he doubled down, saying she hadn’t moved and the two were doing just fine. But could it be that Tom had a magical crystal ball to see into the future? Or he probably just knows how stressful owning a bar can be on a marriage.

Brittany Has Baby Fever

The Kentucky native is all about having another baby, but Jax isn’t too keen on giving Cruz a sibling. During a serious conversation Brittany becomes visibly upset as she brings up the prospect of another kid to Jax.

The Florida native tells his wife, “Bringing in another human being, it’s worrisome for me.” Brittany isn’t taking his answer lying down as she claps back, “I live for my kid.” Jax next tells his wife not to cry which obviously only makes her cry that much more.

Brittany and Jax’s Relationship Begins to Break Down

The fact that neither can agree on what to do about having more children isn’t the duo’s only issue. This season on The Valley will undoubtedly show the breakdown of their marriage.

In the trailer, Brittany is caught telling her friend that she doesn’t think Jax is “attracted” to her anymore. If I were Brittany, I’d be worried, too, since Jax was always known to have a wandering eye. It hasn’t helped ease fans’ minds with Katie Maloney noting on Vanderpump Rules that Jax is still known as a man about town.

According to Brittany, she and Jax “don’t have sex ever.” What’s that saying? If he isn’t getting it from you, he is getting it from somewhere else? If I were Brittany, I’d have hired a private investigator at this point just to ease my emotions.

The trailer also mentioned the rumors of Jax cheating on Brittany again. The last time they came up against rumors like this was in 2018, but some would say a leopard never changes its spots. We then see a major fight with Brittany yelling, “You’re my husband, and you’re trying to make me look like I’m a bad person! F*ck you!” To which Jax replies that Brittany has a “problem.” Yikes.

Kristen’s Activated

Kristen Doute in The Valley

Kristen is Kristen, and I would expect nothing less. The trailer shows her in a long-winded monologue where she says, “I feel like sometimes I’m the only one who ever has to own my sh*t.” It didn’t go unnoticed that she said this while hugging a mystery man. Now, I doubt that it was Tom Sandoval since she made it clear she was Team Ariana; so who could it be? It also seems that Kristen still isn’t great at being a girls girl since she will get into a few fights with her new co-stars.

The trailer showed her and Michelle Lally arguing over a group dinner. Michelle is heard shouting, “Do you know what you have done to my marriage and my life and my daughter?” Never one to back down, Kristen claps back, yelling, “Your husband said on camera that he’s gonna divorce you.”

Yikes! Kristen’s segment ends with her lamenting, “I didn’t sign up for this all over again just to go through it again! I’d rather be on Vanderpump Rules.”

The Valley premieres Tuesday, March 19 on Bravo.

Lala Kent on the ‘Blessing and a Curse’ of Raising Her Daughter Ocean

Lala Kent is known publicly as a reality TV star. But it seems that her role as “mom” is the one she takes most seriously. She often speaks about the challenges and joys of raising her daughter, Ocean, three, and sharing custody with ex-fiancé, Randall Emmett. The parents have been engaged in a bitter custody battle since their split in 2021, after the Vanderpump Rules star discovered Randall’s infidelity.

But just last week, Lala shared her excitement at being pregnant again. She previously spoke of wanting to give Ocean a sibling.

So now that the news is out, Lala is speaking about how Ocean is processing that she is to be a big sister.

Lala is planning the best way to transition the new baby into the family

Lala delved further into the topic during a recent Amazon Live.

“Kid’s a genius, you guys. She understands everything, which is a blessing and a curse,” Lala joked about her little one.

As with any family, the addition of a new child would prompt concerns about how the others will react. An only child suddenly has to share the resources, including their mother.

In Lala’s case, she was concerned how Ocean would feel about having to stay at “the other house” during the birth and recovery.

However, Ocean’s inquisitive and confident nature has Lala feeling like the transition will be smooth. Her strategy to avoid feelings of being “replaced” is telling Ocean that the new addition will be “her baby too.”

“She just seems like the type of kid who’s very curious and has a lot of questions, so I’m gonna shower her with a lot of love,” she explained.

Perhaps the harder transition will be for Lala. The VPR star admitted that she can’t imagine having enough love for both of her children.

“The amount of love I have for Ocean, I’m like, ‘How could I possibly love anybody or anything more than I love Ocean Kent?'” she concluded the discussion. “I remember giving birth to Ocean and being like ‘Whoah.’ I don’t even know how to process this kind of love.”

Catch Vanderpump Rules on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
