Battle of the Stews: Who’s Right, Tumi or Natalya?

Bravo/YouTube

Tumi Mhlongo and Natalya Scudder are involved in an intense feud on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8, but who’s in the wrong? Tumi was assigned as the season’s Chief Stew, after Natalya had served as 2nd Stew during Below Deck Med Season 7. However, when Tumi ran into issues with immigration, Natalya stepped in to fill her position until she arrived.

When Tumi did finally arrive onboard, she and Natalya instantly began to clash. Their relationship has not improved, and their feud has divided fans into “teams.” Keep reading to find out whether we are Team Tumi, or Team Natalya!

At First, Tumi Was In The Wrong

When Tumi first stepped onboard, she was arguably in the wrong during her first interaction with Natalya. Tumi failed to address how hard Natalya worked as Interim Chief Stew during the first charter, which understandably upset Natalya.

The two got into a heated argument within minutes, where Tumi claimed that the boat’s organization was “a s**t show.” This comment was out of line, since Natalya did put a lot of work into making the yacht look nice for Tumi’s arrival. Tumi claimed that she was referring to the structure of the boat itself rather than Natalya’s work ethic, although this seemed far fetched.

Then Natalya Took Things Too Personally

During the interior team’s first meeting, Tumi announced that she planned to rank her team as she felt it helped keep a good structure. As Chief Stew, Tumi completely had the right to this, regardless of Natalya’s desires.

Tumi explained that she wanted Kyle Viljoen to serve as 2nd Stew, since he excelled with the guests and service. Natalya, on the other hand, was assigned to be 3rd Stew, since Tumi noted she was great with laundry and cleaning. Jessika Asai, in turn, was assigned as the 4th Stew.

It was evident that Natalya took Tumi’s rankings personally, even though she should not have. Tumi was acting within the limits of her authority as Chief Stew, and she was not trying to make Natalya feel bad by putting her as 3rd Stew. Tumi had a perfectly logical reason for her decision, and even went out of her way to compliment Natalya on her laundry skills!

Now Natalya Is Completely Out Of Line

After the second charter, Natalya began to act completely unreasonable toward Tumi. Tumi made notable efforts to remain calm with Natalya, and listen to her point of view, while respectfully sharing her own. An example of this was when Natalya complained about Kyle not cleaning up the pajama party, which ended at 3 am. Tumi explained that she would rather have Kyle just go to bed at that point, but Natalya refused to comply.

Natalya proceeded to tell the rest of her fellow crew members all about her hatred of Tumi, which some of them began to get sick of. One of Natalya’s favorite people to complain to was Chef Jack Luby, who also got off on the wrong foot with Tumi. However, he admitted that he now had a better opinion of Tumi, and was not interested in what Natalya had to say about her.

The turning point came when Tumi noticed Natalya had failed to fully clean the cabins, which she then conveyed to Jessika. While Tumi should have approached Natalya about it herself, Natalya’s reaction was still unwarranted. Natalya called Tumi over and asked what the problem was, and seemed to completely forget that Tumi was the Chief Stew.

The confrontation got so bad that Captain Sandy Yawn had to step in, and call both ladies to the bridge. Uh oh! In front of Captain Sandy, Natalya quickly declared that she could not work with Tumi. Tumi, on the other hand, laughed it off then realized that she should have responded more professionally. Both women received a warning from Captain Sandy, and were told to figure it out.

After Everything, We’re Team Tumi!

After everything that has gone down between Tumi and Natalya, we are one hundred-percent on Tumi’s side. Despite being a bit aggressive at first, Tumi is the Chief Stew and deserves to be respected for that. Tumi also made several attempts to try to work things out with Natalya, which she was not receptive to. While we hope that these two stews can make up by the end of the season, it’s not looking likely.

Real Housewives Who Andy Cohen Grilled the Hardest

Andy Cohen is often seen as the King of Bravo who can do no wrong. However, there have been plenty of times when he went in hard on a Real Housewives star during the reunion. To err is human to forgive is divine, but Andy often doesn’t hold back when it comes to putting a certain reality star in their place and, at times, seems to thrive on the drama.

Monique Samuels

During the Season 5 reunion of the Real Housewives of Potomac, Andy was blasted for his lack of journalistic integrity when he interviewed Monique Samuels regarding her fight with Candiace Dillard Bassett. During his chat, Andy came across as unfair and clearly was siding with the beauty queen. Monique was quickly painted as the bad guy, even though it takes two to tango. Bravo viewers found it hard to distinguish between his personal opinion and staying neutral while conducting the interview.

Andy was visibly upset with Monique, noting she wasn’t emotional enough. She said the mother was “matter of fact and dry about the whole thing.” Monique alleged that Andy held her to a different standard than the rest of the women. “I believe that his responsibility should be to get down to the bottom of whatever questions may have been unanswered during the season,” she said. But Andy quickly dropped the ball, enraging Real Housewives fans.

Erika Jayne

Everyone and their mama was coming for Erika Jayne, but Andy also joined in on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 11 reunion. Andy didn’t waste any time as he asked the hard questions regarding the embezzlement scandal and financial claims that Erika had no money to her name. He told Erika he was “going to put you on a skewer—and I’m going to fire up the barbecue.”

Andy took it upon himself to ask some hard questions, including, “Why didn’t you leave Tom sooner?'” Erika replied, “Where was I going?” The entire season outraged fans who learned that Tom Girardi was accused of embezzling millions of dollars that were meant for plane crash victims of Lion Air.

Andy kept his promise as he did not back down. “Who believes that Erika did not know anything about what Tom was doing?,” he asked the ladies of the 90210. The question enraged the Pretty Mess singer. “Can someone please back me the fu*k up on what I am saying?,” she asked. Andy went for the jugular, pointing out to Erika, “You were manipulating the narrative by saying the cognitive decline started three years ago. “It lands differently when there are air crash victims.”

Tamra Judge

During the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, Andy tried to get to the bottom of who called who a loser at BravoCon 2022. Tamra Judge claimed Heather Dubrow had denigrated the entire cast, while Fancy Pants noted Tamra had jokingly said it on her podcast. Honestly, they are both losers for even fighting over the semantics of it all.

While Tamra was trying to defend herself from the line of questioning, Andy interjected. “By the way, you had said terrible things about everyone that was still on the show when you weren’t on the show,” he said. Tamra yelled back, “But we’re not talking about that so fu*k off.” Andy defended himself, noting, “I’m just pointing out that you were calling them losers.”

Larsa Pippen

Radio Andy/YouTube

Andy is known for losing his temper with unruly housewives. The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5 reunion was no exception, as he was caught yelling at Larsa Pippen. The magical mogul didn’t mince his words after Larsa tried verbally attacking Nicole Martin‘s son, who was born out of wedlock.

On his SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live show, Andy gave more insight into the argument. “I usually don’t editorialize, and I did with The Housewives of Miami,” he said. “Basically, Larsa was kind of—it seemed to me—weaponizing to Nicole that her child was born out of wedlock.”

Andy went on to explain, “Like she was saying…I could be calling out that your son was born out of wedlock. Now, when you say, I could be using something as a weapon, you’re basically doing it.” Andy revealed Larsa’s words hit home since he was a single father of two. Hopefully, the host learns from his verbal attacks, but we kind of doubt he will.

Best and Worst Songs To Come From the Real Housewives Franchise

Luann de Lesseps Real Housewives of New York RHONY

In the last 17 years that the Real Housewives franchise has been on television, fans have watched several Bravo stars try their hand at a music career. And while some housewives foray into the music industry felt like a natural fit, others dropped singles that had us scratching our heads.

In honor of the housewife-to-popstar pipeline, let’s take a look back at some of the best (and worst) songs released by Real Housewives stars.

Luann de Lesseps – Chic C’est La Vie (Best)

YouTube/Ultra Records

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Countess speaking. We have arrived!” Following the success of her debut banger “Money Can’t Buy You Class,” Luann de Lesseps released “Chic C’est La Vie,” a song about jet setting, being fabulous, and showing off that you know French. Love that!

The song is iconic and remains a favorite among Real Housewives fans over a decade after its initial release. Between the sporadic use of French and the nods to the show and other RHONY cast members, the song feels self-aware and in on the joke. Overall, this one belongs in the Real Housewives Music Hall of Fame.

Ashley Darby – Coffee & Love (Worst)

Ashley Darby/YouTube

We love Ashley Darby but we don’t love her 2018 song “Coffee & Love” featuring Cazanova. This song is rough. Between the auto-tune and the repetitive lyrics, it’s just not a banger. Also, the music video opens with photos of Michael Darby. Jump scare!

Candiace Dillard Bassett – Drive Back (Best)

CANDIACE/YouTube

This song is amazing. No notes. Candiace Dillard Bassett is a woman of many talents and when it comes to her music career, she is certainly one to watch. Her single “Drive Back” is catchy, fun, and Candiace seriously kills it on the vocals. Also, the Real Housewives of Potomac ladies make a cameo in the music video, so overall, it’s just perfect from start to finish.

Gretchen Rossi – The Time Is Now (Worst)

Gretchen Christine Rossi/YouTube

Gretchen Rossi dedicated her 2013 song “The Time Is Now” to her boyfriend Slade Smiley. The Real Housewives of Orange County star performed the song for her beau in Season 8 before asking for his hand in marriage. The song is pretty lackluster and not much to write home about. However, I do sometimes find myself singing it in the shower.

Kim Zolciak-Biermann – Google Me (Best)

Brookes1Fan/YouTube

“Research me, you’ll find me. Click them keys and Google me.” Kim Zolciak‘s song “Google Me” has to be one of the most memorable Real Housewives songs. It’s catchy, absolutely ridiculous, and so fun to listen to.

Simon van Kempen – I Am Real (Worst)

Simon van Kempen/YouTube

RHONY star Simon van Kempen is the only Housewives husband to snag a spot on this list, but unfortunately, his single “I Am Real” falls into the “worst” category. Listen, the song is iconic but I wouldn’t call it…good.

Erika Jayne – XXPEN$IVE” (Best)

Erika Jayne/YouTube

I’m sure you’re not surprised to see Erika Jayne‘s hit song “XXPEN$IVE” on this list. The songstress has released numerous bops throughout her career but we think this one takes the cake.

The song admittedly feels a little dark after everything that has come to light about Erika’s ex-husband, Tom Girardi, and everything he did to achieve their “XXPEN$IVE” lifestyle. But on its own, it is a great song. We are definitely queuing it up on the pregame playlist.

Melissa Gorga – Rockstar (Worst)

Melissa Gorga/YouTube

Melissa Gorga‘s song “Rockstar” may pale in comparison to other Real Housewives bops but we don’t totally hate it. Is it good? Probably not. Is it fun to listen to? Yes!

Luann de Lesseps – Money Can’t Buy You Class (Best)

Ultra Records/YouTube

We couldn’t not include Luann’s debut hit “Money Can’t Buy You Class.” The song is simply a masterpiece and she should have a Grammy. Case closed.

Honorable Mention: Kim Zolciak-Biermann – Tardy for the Party (Best)

Honorable Mention: Melissa Gorga – On Display (Worst)
