Captain Lee Rosbach Dishes On Kate Chastain’s Exit From Below Deck & Kate’s Replacement

One of the most important crew relationships on any Below Deck show is the dynamic between the captain and the chief stew. Everything that occurs on the boat, from charter guest parties to personnel issues flows from the camaraderie between the two positions.

Of all the Below Deck shows, the closest captain-chief stew relationship has been between Captain Lee Rosbach and Chief Stew Kate Chastain. Through six seasons of sailing the Caribbean and South Pacific together, the two have had each other’s backs through stormy seas, out-of-control guests and unhappy crew members. When Kate announced she was leaving the show, many people were surprised. Count Captain Lee among them.

In an interview with HollywoodLife, Captain Lee shared his reaction to Kate’s departure. He admitted, “That was out of left field. I did not see that coming at all. I was totally blown away.” Many viewers were also shocked by Kate’s announcement. It isn’t often that one of the stars of a successful reality show leaves on their own terms.

Not surprisingly, Kate let Captain Lee know personally she was leaving after she made her decision. He went on to share, “Kate called me and it was a bittersweet thing. She let me know that she wasn’t going to come back, but she thought it was time to move on.” Captain Lee added, “She’s got bigger and better things to do and I was happy for her. But, I was sad in the same breath because she’s a valued member of my team and she’s a valued member of ‘Below Deck’ and the show, so, big shoes to fill for somebody, or try to do it, yeah. I miss Kate.”

Below Deck will certainly be a different show without Kate. Love her or hate her, she made sure that the guests had a good sailing experience. And unlike Below Deck Mediterranean’s Hannah Ferrier and Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s  Jenna MacGillivray, Kate was not averse to hard work. Sure, Kate could be tough on her stews and sometimes played favorites, but she undeniably knew how to bring hard work and humor to the franchise.

So, what qualities is Captain Lee looking for in Kate’s replacement? He stated, “I’m looking for somebody that has that work ethic [like Kate’s], that has the proper attitude towards sub-ordinance. Someone who isn’t on a power trip.” With those prerequisites, it is safe to assume snarky Jenna won’t be doing double duty on Captain Lee’s yacht! What other requirements does Captain Lee have for a chief stew? “Quick witted, can think on their feet and [someone] that I don’t have to babysit,” he went on to explain.

“Here’s your job, here’s your tools, now go get your job done. If you keep coming to me for every little thing. And if I have to do my job and your job then I obviously don’t need you, so I’m looking for somebody who can stand on their own and function well,” Captain Lee added. I guess Hannah need not apply!

Although Captain Lee and Kate developed a close friendship, it wasn’t always that way between the two. He revealed, “Kate and I didn’t hit it off on season 2. We didn’t hit it off at all. We had some rough spots, but you have to give it a chance to mature and grow, and the rest is history.”

Does Captain Lee think Kate will make a return to Below Deck? He stated, “I really couldn’t say. I think she’s grown past that, I really do. As much as I would love her to come back.”

However, Captain Lee does not rule out a return, sharing, “But who knows, maybe we’ll see her in some form or another. I really don’t know. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been surprised.” After last season’s misogynistic and bad bruh behavior from Ashton Pienaar and crew, it is not surprising Kate chose to leave. It is always better to leave on your own terms when the time is right.

Many fans would love to see Kate come back. A chief stew who is witty, entertaining, and hard-working is not easy to come by. I have a feeling that if Kate wanted to return for another season of yachting, Bravo would jump at the chance.

Jennifer Aydin Says Her Father & Daughter Gabby Contracted Coronavirus Also

Earlier this month, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin revealed that she had tested positive for coronavirus. She revealed that she got a hold of a coronavirus test thanks to her husband Bill Aydin, a plastic surgeon. After that reveal, the couple faced some backlash for their access to a coronavirus test.

Bill explained that he did more than just cosmetic procedures as a plastic surgeon and that he had been working in the hospital. Jennifer and Bill have five children and Jennifer’s father had been staying with her. Unfortunately, Jennifer found out that her dad and one of her kid’s also contracted coronavirus.

Jennifer broke the news in an interview with HollywoodLife. Jennifer shared, “My dad had had it after. I didn’t really tell anybody that…he was hospitalized on Friday.” The Housewife elaborated, “My dad was staying with me…I like having my dad with me. It just makes everything better.”

Jennifer noted that her dad moved to her sister’s house after Jennifer’s diagnosis, but it was too late. He already contracted the virus.  Jennifer shared,”[He had] no fever. My father’s symptoms were actually profuse vomiting.”

She continued, “He was vomiting for about 3 days straight until finally, my sister said he was complaining about chest pain, so I was like, ‘Well, we can’t avoid the hospital if he’s complaining about chest pain.’ So we brought him in and sure enough he tested positive, but again, thank God, no respiratory problems.” Now, he’s out of the hospital and back at Jennifer’s house.

Jennifer also shared, “Gabby was only having symptoms of not having taste and smell, but that’s back for her.” Thankfully, Jennifer noted, “The [other] kids are all fine.”

As far as Jennifer herself goes, she shared, “I feel good as new…I feel great. I feel almost dangerously invincible now and now I’m betting on the theory because I’m invincible now that once you have it you’re immune to it because.”

Lisa Vanderpump & Jax Taylor Poke Fun At Scheana Marie For Wanting Max Boyens & Brett Caprioni To Care About Her Egg Retrieval

Watching the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules, I had a serious case of deja vu back to Scheana Marie’s Season 2 tooth surgery. She was devastated when no one checked on her after getting a dental procedure and turned that into a (weak) storyline.

This time, Scheana had a major procedure, an egg retrieval surgery. The surgery went well, but Scheana wasn’t happy with the lack of recovery check-ins. Specifically, she was miffed that Brett Caprioni, a guy she kissed once, didn’t check in on her. She was also upset with “ex” Max Boyens for not reaching out. During the episode, Scheana explained to Lisa Vanderpump that she was disappointed in her friends. In response, Lisa laughed in her face and told her not to expect so much from males she has a platonic relationship with.

Scheana’s egg retrieval was a hot topic of conversation during a recent episode the Vanderpump Rules After Show. During a conversation with Jax Taylor, LVP remarked, “I don’t think that any guy that’s a friend of yours is gonna be that invested in your egg retrieval unless they are going to be fertilizing it with their sperm, quite frankly.”

Jax chimed in with “It’s not something that you want to say on a first date.” Lisa laughed in response. Then, she told him “Exactly!” Who would have thought that it would take Scheana’s eggs for Jax and Lisa to be on the same page about something?

Lisa elaborated, “What I mean is if they’re friends and she’s saying they didn’t check in on her, why are they really gonna care? You know? Unless you’re gonna be the father of that child.”

Does this shade mean Scheana is going to (attempt to) argue with Lisa at the Season 8 reunion? That didn’t work out too well for Ariana Madix last year. Now, she’s spent this season repenting. She opened up to LVP about her depression, returning to “work” at SUR, and riding horses with Lisa. Clearly, Ariana has learned not to mess with Lisa. Will Scheana come for Lisa? Or will she make the wise decision and let go of that shade?

Sutton Stracke Explains Why She’s Not Full Time On Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

New cast member Sutton Stracke came out swinging right away during the premiere episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10. She showed off her (uncute) custom-made Dolce & Gabbana bra. She dissed Rihanna’s Fenty line for not being high-end enough for her. Sutton also made a funny Devil Wears Prada-esque comment dissing Teddi Mellencamp for her (basic) black romper.

During her second episode, she shamelessly bragged about wearing couture at her store opening. And, let’s not forget that infamous scene in the trailer where she calls Teddi “boring.” This woman has it in her to stir the pot. So, why is she not a full-time cast member? By the way, she was originally slated to be Real Housewife. Then, she got that pre-season demotion to Friend of the Housewives status.

Sutton addressed this in a recent interview with Access. The Georgia native began, “Well, what I think what happened, unfortunately, is just in filming during the season, I wasn’t able to film as much of my personal life as I would have liked. And, so it’s not the full package.”

Sutton continued, “I think when you sign on to be a Housewife, it really is your whole life that you’re giving up to the audience and I wasn’t able to do that. But, hopefully, next season we’re gonna get to see all aspects of my life and it will be all good.”

It’s super obvious that Sutton was trying to be careful with her words there; i.e. not piss off her ex-husband. The interviewer kept pushing though, asking if Sutton was the one who decided not to show more of her life. Sutton said, “I wasn’t able to film with my children. They’re a big part of my life, so that was it.” This most likely translates to her husband not signing a release form for their minor children to be a part of a reality show. This is something we’ve seen a lot on Real Housewives shows, like with Tamra Judge’s kids.

But, apparently, Sutton didn’t find out until way late in the game. She participated in the cast photoshoot and even filmed some taglines for the introduction. Clearly, this demotion was a pretty last-minute decision. Sutton was asked, “When did you find out you became a Friend of?”

Instead of actually answering the question, Sutton remarked, “I filmed the whole way. I feel like I’m full-time. I just don’t carry a diamond. But, it’s all good. It’s been such a great experience and I’ve had like the best time. I have no regrets. At all.” Clearly, she’s being very careful with her answers, hoping her ex will sign that release for her kids to appear. Or at least that’s how it comes across to me.

Sutton admitted that she’s gunning for a full-time spot next season. She declared, “I always say I have enough diamonds, but there’s always room for one more.” Don’t we all?

Teddi Mellencamp Says Denise Richards’ Primary Focus Is What Audience Thinks Of Her; Claims Denise Drama Has Very Little To Do With Brandi Glanville

So far, I’m loving this season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. From the jump, they have given us a little something to hold on to when it comes to being interested. Well, aside from the boring stopover at Kyle Richards’ “fashion show”. I could have done without that. Fashion show aside, producers already pressed Dorit Kemsley about her supposed money troubles. I can’t tell you how happy this made me. After dodging it for multiple seasons, they finally held Dorit’s feet to the fire enough to clearly make her uncomfortable. And Garcelle Beauvais also gave us some dramz by admitting that her husband had a five-year affair on her. It’s rare to see a housewife this open from the get-go and it only bolstered her popularity.

But some bigger trouble is brewing. And it’s going to blow all this piddly stuff out of the water. We’ve all seen the stories about Denise Richards and Brandi Glanville’s hook up. The producers even ominously told us at the end of episode one that Denise stopped filming in December. This is something castmate Erika Jayne took major issue with and wasn’t shy about telling us. The trailer shows just how bad it got, with Denise yelling “Bravo, Bravo, F**king Bravo!” in an effort to stop the footage from being used. You guys, this isn’t even the midseason trailer. These ladies are just getting started.

Now Teddi Mellencamp is weighing in on the Denise storyline, and coming up with an unexpected take on the matter. Teddi decided to spill it to Entertainment Tonight, musing that Denise isn’t so much bothered by the Brandi rumors. Teddi claims that Denise cares more about what the audience is thinking.

Teddi says, “I can’t really say too much, but what I can say is, when you sign up to do the show, you show the good, the bad and the ugly. And if your primary focus of being on the show is what the audience is gonna think about you, and not what us, what each one of your friends is feeling? That always ends up backfiring, because you’re trying to control a situation that can’t be controlled and the people that are living it with you can feel it.”

Well, that’s easy to say when you have no storyline, Teddi. But also, really? Kyle has been hiding multiple lawsuits, so has Erika and as mentioned above, Dorit with her legal and money troubles. And Dorit only admitted it all when she was pressed. So let’s not talk about trying to control the situation. All this cast does is try and stay in control.

Teddi continues, “I mean, that’s juicy and people are interested in it because, it’s, you know…But there’s definitely more that involves all of us, that affects everybody differently. I mean, whatever they’re doing on their own time really has nothing to do with me.” It doesn’t so why are you worried about it? “I think it’s so annoying when too much plays out in the press because that’s that person’s intention to kind of get the audience to see whatever it is that they wanna see prior to watching the show,” Teddi says. “So I think by both parties doing that, it made it harder, because now everybody’s going into the show assuming it’s one thing, when really it’s not.”

Teddi then addresses Denise not filming and using the infamous Bravo call out to make footage unusable. Shockingly, Teddi says all that went down before the Brandi allegations even happened. Interesting, since it led audiences to believe that Denise’s Bravo, Bravo, F**king Bravo outburst was in response to the Brandi rumors. Teddi says something even bigger is going on with Denise.  “A lot of things were going down with Denise,” she teases. “That’s really the issue, what happened with Brandi, I mean, that’s just, like, what they’ve played out in the press, but that’s not what any of us, or myself, had any situation with Denise about.”

While Teddi wishes the “Bravo” yelling scene was the only time it happened, she reveals that Denise did it more than once. When the first episode aired, Teddi even called Denise out on Twitter, writing “Bravo Bravo Bravo always keeps it rolling even when you try to control things.” Denise wrote back, “You were that someone that told me .[Kyle] about it.” Teddi jokes, “I was like, was that Denise writing me or Casamigos? I’m confused. I mean, obviously I would’ve written something sassy back if I understood what she was saying.” Sure, Teddi.

Some viewers took Denise’s response as Teddi and Kyle giving Denise a heads up on what to shout to get out of a tricky moment on camera. Teddi claims that’s not the case at all. “I never said [that], and I can assure you if I had [done that before], they would’ve used it,” she says. “It’s not like I’m living it up in the happy life of everyone loving me every time.” Teddi does mention that Kyle talked about doing it before though. As explained in our story above, Kyle and her original costars would yell things like “Hi, Bravo! Hi, Andy Cohen!” at the cameras when they wanted to touch up their makeup. Supposedly it was always a joke and they didn’t use it to their advantage during tough scenes.

Teddi concludes, “I think she saw what people like to see in her and then tried to double down on it and then maybe it didn’t… maybe it didn’t work out so great. Because here’s the thing: all of us can be jerks from time to time. All of us can say things that we’re gonna regret. … [But] if you’re only trying to show one part and you’re OK with kind of putting it off on other people, it just doesn’t work out.” Lisa Rinna, queen of being manipulated, are you listening? I hope the rest of the cast is as well.

Leah McSweeney Names Sonja Morgan As Biggest Pot Stirrer; Says Dorinda Medley Is Her Closest Friend On Real Housewives, Despite Their Rough Start

Leah McSweeney’s descent into drunken anarchism was, by far, the most hilarious and entertaining display ever.  Leah wasted rage against the establishment and Ramona Singer’s tiki torches will surely reverb throughout the rest of the season.

It seemed to cause a divide of the Real Housewives of New York cast.  At least in that moment.  Sonja Morgan and Tinsley Mortimer followed Leah’s lead while the more refined ladies stayed indoors, fully clothed.  Will that dynamic change anything long term?  Maybe, maybe not.  But a few interesting things happened that, according to Leah, set the stage for future drama.  Hopefully, friendships too.

Leah spoke with Bravo’s The Daily Dish about the latest episode and what fans can expect for the rest of the season. First, Leah was asked to identify the biggest pot-stirrer of the cast.  She said, “It might have been me… I don’t know.  I think freaking Sonja.  Like if it’s conscious or not, I don’t know.”

Sonja had already created drama during Ramona’s Hampton’s weekend in a hapless attempt to mend fences between Leah and Dorinda Medley.  It looks like that trend will continue.  But will Sonja turn on Leah?  She did admit to being hurt that Leah questioned her keeping the Morgan name.

Leah did not list Sonja as a cast member that she speaks regularly with now.  She is close with Luann de Lesseps, Ramona, and Tinsley.  But Leah named Dorinda as the one she feels the deepest connection with.

“That might surprise everybody right now.  But I think me and Dorinda are more like just chatty, you know?,” Leah explained, “we’re chatty people.  We like, FaceTime and talk on the phone.  It was like that the whole season, to be honest.  You’ll see.”

Dorinda did have a mother hen moment with Leah during the last episode when Leah was totally wasted and not properly dressed.  Maybe that was the start of a trusting friendship.  Leah revealed that their relationship goes deeper than just pleasantries.  She said, “Dorinda really…I have to say, and Luann, too, they really both championed me and came to my defense when I needed them, and really both had my back.”

90 Day Fiance Alum Jorge Nava Wants To Return To Reality TV & Get Back Into Legal Marijuana Business After Prison

In 2018, 90 Day Fiance star Jorge Nava was sentenced to two and half years in prison after being caught with 300 pounds of marijuana in his car.  If you feel like Jorge has been popping up a lot recently, he is scheduled to be released in May. He has been giving interviews about his time in prison and plans for a future post-release.

Of course, fans of the show know how he got to this point.  Jorge brought his soon to be ex-wife Anfisa Nava, from Russia on a K-1 fiance visa.  He promised her a lavish lifestyle that he could not afford and that led to conflicts in between the couple.  Perhaps that was a catalyst for Jorge’s choice to drive marijuana through a state where it was illegal.  It’s already been reported that Jorge and Anfisa will be divorcing and that she has moved on with another man.  But what is in store for Jorge?

Recently, Jorge did an interview with In Touch Weekly. Jorge is very keen to get back on the small screen.  He said, “going back to reality TV is [a conversation] that I’ve been having since the day I came into prison.”

Of course, Jorge is useless to the 90 Day Fiance franchise without a partner.  But luckily Jorge also has more realistic and practical goals for life after prison.  He explained “some of the plans [for] when I get released are just being able to get myself back on my feet.  I’m still exploring different avenues to get back into the legal marijuana business, and, hopefully, I am able to do that [despite] being a felon now.”

Jorge also wants to present a positive narrative about his life as a felon.  “I’m trying to build a positive image for everybody that, you know, even in [the] darkest time in life,” Jorge said, “it’s still good to have hope, because the light at the end of the tunnel will definitely come in time.”

Jorge does not have Anfisa for support, but he has found positive energy through fans of the show.  “I’m getting released soon, and all [the] positive feedback that I’m getting from strangers, like on social media and stuff like that,” he explained, “it’s just giving me this really good hope, this really good feeling…about my new beginning, really.”

So what is Jorge most excited about?  He explained, “the one thing I’m looking forward to the most is…being able to [make] my own choices, finally.  I’m trying to…stay away from any criminal activity and, hopefully, get all of my goals and ideas executed.”

Jorge has already achieved a major goal with his health.  He lost 128 pounds while in jail.  “I actually started working out with other people that have been training and doing bodybuilding and stuff,” he said, “[it’s] almost like an addiction.”

Maybe Jorge will be able to take that energy and put it towards other goals.

Kenya Moore Responds After NeNe Leakes Says Her Marriage With Marc Daly Was Never Legal & They Used Someone Else’s Egg To Have A Baby

Kenya Moore’s marriage to Marc Daly is pretty confusing to Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers. Going back to the beginning, it was perplexing when someone whose job was to share her life on reality TV, secretly got married, without the cameras. Then, it turned out that she married someone who lived and worked in a different state. Those are some challenging logistics there.

This season, Marc and Kenya’s dynamic was difficult to watch. He seemed super controlling. And, then when they split up, Kenya shared some strange information. She is not allowed to talk to Marc’s parents. She also found out that he was still texting women who were interested in him romantically. These women also had no idea he was married with a kid. SKETCHY. Even so, Kenya does hold out some hope of a reconciliation, which makes no sense to most of us.

While we are all trying to figure out why Kenya would ever want to stay in this marriage, NeNe Leakes and Marlo Hampton wondered if their marriage was ever actually legal. Not only that, but, during the RHOA season finale, NeNe also said she wondered if Kenya used her own egg to conceive her daughter. Kenya responded to the shade during an interview with Extra.

Kenya said, “Yes, I’m legally married. I have my marriage certificate. I have witnesses. [NeNe is] basically calling pretty much everyone in Turks and Caicos a lie, my family a lie… I just think that she crosses lines. She’s a vile person, and kids are off-limits.”

But, what about the egg allegations? Kenya didn’t confirm or deny the claim. However, she did remark, “I just think when people make comments like that it is to try to hurt them where they are most vulnerable… it is who she is… She is who she is. She’s never going to change.”

Kenya concluded, “It doesn’t need to be. I have been a target of her attacks because I simply have seen her for who she is. She never supported me during my pregnancy and even now that my beautiful baby is here… making these accusations and targeting my family.”
