Here’s The Reality TV Shows I’m Watching This Week

Hello hello hello! Back with another addition of what’s on my DVR/streaming devices this week. Unfortunately, if you’re a Real Housewives of Potomac fan like me, you are stuck waiting another week for the reunion. Thanks a lot, Super Bowl. But on the flip side, my streaming this week was lit, as the kids say. And Real Housewives of New Jersey is filling a housewives void now that they are back and more Jersey than ever. So let’s jump in.

Tuesday – Real Housewives of New Jersey

Given all the hype surrounding this season, I’m really expecting my RHONJ to deliver. We’ve only seen one episode and so far so good….but the bar is set pretty low. While I do appreciate the franchise, watching HBIC Teresa Giudice continue to argue with Melissa Gorga and brother Joe Gorga has become tedious. So tedious that I almost gave up watching.

But I pressed on and this season we have finally been thrown a bone in the form of newbies Rachel Fuda and Danielle Cabral. Rachel is Team Melissa and Danielle has already seemingly come out as Team Tre. Which means that the two will be forced to go to bat for their respective housewife. Now that I can watch. What I don’t want to watch is another househusbands calendar shoot. The ladies might have thought their men were on fire but I would have run into a burning house in an effort to escape Frank Catania shirtless in bunny ears.

Watch on Bravo at 8 PM ET. The episode is also available to stream on Peacock the next day.

Wednesday – The Challenge: Ride Or Dies

It’s only fitting that what has felt like the longest season of The Challenge is featuring the longest final ever. 100 hours to be exact. And last week, we were only half way through. Leaders Tori Deal and Devin Walker-Molaghan have been slipping but with a final so long, it’s hard to maintain any kind of lead for very long. So what’s in store for the next 50 some hours of the final? Much pain, more suffering but hopefully less puking. More importantly, will veteran Aneesa Ferreira survive her rolled ankle? Will fans survive watching one more second of Jordan Wiseley? Tune in to find out.

Watch on MTV Wednesday at 8 PM ET.

Wednesday – Vanderpump Rules

Well, the kids of Vanderpump Rules are officially back for season 10. I wasn’t sure if I was going to watch this season given how stale it’s become. But I have to admit, a single Raquel Leviss is a big pull for me. I don’t care what anyone says, Bambi is a star and a sweet one at that. She deserves to be in the spotlight without James Kennedy dragging her down. Speaking of being dragged down, we are going to watch the dissolution of Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz’s marriage. Which we’ve all been waiting for since the day they got fake married. Additionally, Lala Kent is now a single mom and we won’t have to see Randall Emmett’s stupid face anymore. That’s a win all on it’s own.

Watch on Bravo at 8 PM ET. The episode is also available to stream on Peacock the next day.

Thursday – Real Housewives of Miami

Viva Real Housewives of Miami Season 5. I’ve said it before and I will say it again: this franchise is giving. Now the ladies are in the Bahamas, and it looks like the drama is going to reach new heights thanks to a spat between Alexia Echevarria and Adriana de Moura. The two have been slowly circling each other all season but it seems that Adriana bringing up Alexia’s son finally crosses the line. As for a Marysol Patton-free vacation they were promised? Yeah, not so much. The last episode ended with Marysol and her bejeweled cockie holder arriving poolside to surprise everyone. Jill Zarin did it first. Just saying.

Streaming now on Peacock with new episodes airing every Thursday.

Streaming – Love Is Blind: After The Altar

Despite the couples being complete train wrecks when it came to compatibility, I highly enjoyed Season 3 of Love Is Blind. Netflix has now dropped all three episodes of their limited series follow up, After The Altar. We get to see what the marrieds are up to and how they are faring now that they are actually legally bound to one another. So how’s it going? In epic the words of Dorinda Medley, “Not well, bitch.”

The only couple that seemed to actually like each other, Alexa Lemieux and Brennon Lemieux are going strong. But it’s painfully clear that her dad still doesn’t think Brennon is good enough for her. Which has got to get to old at some point.

When it comes to the rest of the couples, I almost don’t even want an update. SK Alagbada appears to have done Raven Ross dirty. Rude.

SPOILER ALERT: Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton are shockingly and inexplicably still together, even though they shouldn’t be. So just be warned that we are going to have to sit through that mess. I’ve never rooted harder for a couple to break up. Colleen, woman to woman….run for the hills. Resubscribe to Tinder, apply for The Bachelor. Do anything but stay with this man. I beg of you.

All three episodes are streaming now on Netflix.
