O’Brien told him, “I want you to know there’s a lot of fun to be had when this is over, so don’t feel like you need to stay.” Colbert said, “It almost hurt my feelings, but he was just being kind.”

Meanwhile, the context behind that exchange was Conan O’Brien’s own exit from late-night in 2021. He retired from the format while it was in dramatic free fall. Since then, the former “Late Night,” “The Tonight Show,” and “Conan” host built a hit podcast, landed a $150 million SiriusXM deal, and fronted the Emmy-winning travel series “Conan O’Brien Must Go.” That is why his take carries weight. He is not theorizing about life after a talk show. He already rebuilt one and was living it.

However, the same report showed why O’Brien’s advice matters more now. The Hollywood Reporter said CBS announced in July that it was canceling “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” calling it “purely a financial decision.” But netizens connected it to an earlier Colbert criticism of President Donald Trump.

Then it noted wider late-night pressure, including Disney briefly pulling “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in September before restoring it. Although Conan’s approach to hosting was never political, he still said, “I’m of the mind that yes, these shows are going away and will become something else.” Even so, he added, “I don’t like when other malign forces intervene, because they’re trying to curry favor. That pisses me off.”

Taylor Swift Left Hanging Over ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Trademark

Taylor Swift‘s legal process behind the branding has reportedly hit a small obstacle. Federal records show that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has paused a trademark application linked to Swift’s phrase “The Life of a Showgirl.” The filing was submitted by the singer’s company, TAS Rights Management LLC.

The pause in Taylor Swift’s federal application process does not mean the trademark request for the phrase “The Life of a Showgirl” has been denied. Instead, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) placed the application on hold while it evaluates two earlier marks that could potentially conflict with Swift’s proposed title.

One of the marks prompting the delay is “Confessions of a Showgirl,” a phrase registered in 2015 by Las Vegas performer Maren Wade. According to USA Today, Wade originally filed the application in 2014. The USPTO later granted federal protection for the title in connection with entertainment services, including live performances, stage productions, television programming, and digital publications such as blogs and e-zines.

Because both Wade’s trademark and Swift’s proposed title use the phrase “of a showgirl,” trademark examiners believe people might think the two brands are connected. This could cause confusion about whether they come from the same source.

A second factor affecting Swift’s filing involves a separate trademark application for the single word “Showgirl.” In December 2024, Harlem Brands Inc. applied to register “Showgirl” for a line of perfumes and related fragrance products. That application has already progressed through examination and received a Notice of Allowance.

Trademark attorney Josh Gerben explained in a recent blog post that roughly one in five trademark applications encounters a similar outcome of refusal during the review process. “This type of refusal is fairly common. About 20% of all trademarks filed with the USPTO receive a similar refusal,” he stated.

“The main point of this argument will be to persuade the USPTO that consumers are unlikely to think that ‘Confessions of a Showgirl’ and ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ come from the same source,” Gerben further wrote. In Swift’s case, the attorney noted that the two titles may communicate separate ideas. “Confessions of a Showgirl,” he said, reads like “a personal narrative or tell-all account,” while “The Life of a Showgirl” suggests “a broader portrayal of the experience itself.”

Brady reportedly doubted that Earle was “leaking stuff to the press.” According to the insider, the 48-year-old NFL legend had apparently noticed that photographers used to show up at places they went together. “He’s like, every time he’s with her, somehow he’s photographed with her. He feels like she’s setting him up,” they claimed.

Moreover, at the weekend party, the influencer and the retired footballer arrived separately. They allegedly stayed on “opposite sides of the room” at the event.

Earlier, a report suggested that Brady apparently wanted to protect himself from Earle. He reportedly believed she was using him to advance her career. “Tom’s team is already quietly making it clear: He’s not ready to be anyone’s social media story,” a source told RadarOnline. 

Later, a video of the duo went viral on social media. They were captured cozily dancing at a pre-Super Bowl event. While the diva’s face was not clearly visible, Brady could be seen intimately grooving on the dance floor with her. The following day, Earle had mentioned in her “Get Ready With Me” Instagram post that she had “so much fun” at the “party last night.”

There were calls to impeach the US President after he declared war on Iran in February 2026, as he did not have approval from Congress to carry out the operation.

Amid the impeachment calls, on March 2, 2026, a White House representative told Newsweek in a statement, “Prior to ever holding office, President Trump has been consistent: Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon…President Trump is taking decisive action to eliminate major national security threats to the American people, which past Presidents have talked about for 47 years, but only this President had the courage to accomplish.”

In January 2026, after the start of his second term, Trump also predicted his impeachment. According to NBC News, he urged Republicans to win in the midterms and conveyed, “You got to win the midterms, because if we don’t win the midterms, it’s just going to be — I mean, they’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”

Nintendo Sues Donald Trump Administration Over Tariffs — Report

Nintendo has reportedly sued Donald Trump’s administration over tariffs. The alleged complaint was filed amid the Supreme Court’s February 20 ruling striking down the import tariffs Trump imposed last year. Although the court stated that all importers should receive refunds, Trump asserted that all goods entering the US would have to pay a 10 percent duty.

According to a report by Aftermath, Nintendo is allegedly suing the Donald Trump administration over the tariffs it imposed last year. The video game company is reportedly seeking refunds for these tariffs.

After the Supreme Court struck down the tariffs that Trump imposed in the first month of his second term, it ruled that all importers should receive refunds. Thus, Nintendo’s lawyers in the alleged complaint have mentioned, “This action concerns Defendants’ initiation and administration of unlawful trade measures that have, to date, resulted in the collection of more than $200 billion in tariffs on imports from nearly all countries.”

As per Entertainment Weekly, the video game organization has also asserted that an action regarding the refund demand should be taken “within two years after the cause of first action accrues.”

The Supreme Court ruled that the tariffs Trump announced under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were unconstitutional. Moreover, after the ruling, Trump called out the judges for a 6-3 judgment against him and labeled them “lapdogs.” He further stated in his White House address, “I think it’s an embarrassment to their families, you wanna know the truth, the two of them. I’m ashamed of certain members of the court – absolutely ashamed – for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country” (via Al Jazeera). The President of the United States further added, “Their decision is incorrect. But it doesn’t matter because we have very powerful alternatives.”
