Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s wedding is mere hours away—a major success for the first season of The Golden Bachelor. The latest seasons of The Bachelor franchise have had a dismal success rate. So, Gerry and Theresa’s relationship is a breath of fresh air. However, now that their journey is coming to a close, many Bachelor Nation fans have turned their attention to who might be named the first Golden Bachelorette.
Though ABC hasn’t officially announced that there will be a Golden Bachelorette season, it’s all but assured, based on the massive popularity of The Golden Bachelor. But who would take the lead? A new video from Gerry’s runner-up, Leslie Fhima, suggests that she might be the network’s top choice.
There are many reasons why Leslie already seems poised to become Bachelor Nation’s first Golden Bachelorette. It’s possible that ABC has already made the decision. In fact, my bet is that Gerry and Theresa’s televised wedding will feature the official announcement that The Golden Bachelorette is a go, and reveal who the leading lady will be. And right now, signs point to Leslie.
Many in Bachelor Nation were surprised to learn that Gerry’s exes, the other contestants from The Golden Bachelor, will be attending the wedding. Heck, fan-favorite contestant Kris JennerSusan Noles will be officiating the ceremony.
In a recent Instagram story, Leslie confirmed that she will be attending Gerry and Theresa’s wedding as well, which comes as a bit of a surprise. When Gerry ended things with Leslie on The Golden Bachelor, she was truly heartbroken. Even several weeks after filming wrapped, at After the Final Rose, Leslie still seemed to be struggling.
Leslie has said that her heartbreak was so deep because Gerry had made comments to her that made Leslie believe she was Gerry’s final choice. It’s easy to see why she felt so hurt. For the same reason, it’s hard to believe that Leslie would want to go to the wedding, but apparently, she’ll be there.
She’s Very Supportive of Gerry and Theresa

Some fans’ first instinct might be to think that perhaps Leslie is contractually obligated to attend the wedding. However, when the contestants were initially signing their contracts, ABC couldn’t have predicted that the season would end with a wedding (though they may have really hoped). So, it seems far-fetched that there would be any kind of clause about attending a wedding.
Plus, in Leslie’s video, she appeared to be genuinely happy for the engaged couple. “I can’t wait to support Gerry and Theresa in their beautiful day,” she said. “I know it’s gonna be really, really amazing.”
Even if time has passed and Leslie has healed, attending your ex’s wedding is a tough sell. But one thing that would make Gerry and Theresa’s wedding easier to swallow is if Leslie knows she’ll get her very own journey as the Golden Bachelorette.
Another notable element of Leslie’s new video is that she’s conspicuously wearing gold…you know, the one color specifically associated with The Golden Bachelor(ette). Now, that could be a coincidence—perhaps she just wanted to look extra fancy for a 23-second video? Methinks not.
Wearing gold could be a cheeky hint at Leslie being Bachelor Nation’s first Golden Bachelorette. The fashion decision seems especially *wink wink* if the Golden Bachelorette announcement is revealed at the wedding on Thursday, January 4. Maybe ABC and Leslie are dropping a specific clue with the gold dress to get fans buzzing right before the big reveal.
Of course, one could argue that Leslie attending the wedding, supporting her ex, and donning gold are all Leslie’s attempts to tell ABC, “Hey! Pick me!” Though Leslie had her heart broken, it would behoove her to play game with the network. Going to the wedding and being gracious tells the world that you’ve healed, grown, and are ready for new love.
It’s possible that Leslie is trying to sell herself to producers. However, based on how upbeat and excited she seems in the video, I think something’s going on behind the scenes. It’s very likely that Leslie has already signed on with ABC as the Golden Bachelorette, and an announcement will be coming soon—potentially at Gerry and Theresa’s wedding.

New year, new drama on The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6, Episode 10. Ushering in 2024 is the hotly-anticipated “Mamacita Madness Part 2.” During Part 1, Nicole took the heat from Alexia and Marysol for allowing Ana Quincoces to come to the Mother’s Day meal. The two stormed out before Ana even arrived. This week, the cast confronts Ana – even Alexia and Marysol – while Guerdy undertakes the next step in her cancer battle. This and more on RHOM Season 6, Episode 10.

After Alexia and Marysol stormed out, Nicole was left baffled. Kiki explained that Ana and her daughter had said some nasty things about the two Cubanas on the Behind the Velvet Rope Podcast. Nicole said, “I’m sorry, but I don’t have time to sit there and listen to some sh*t for 45 minutes of my day. I wish I f*cking did.”
Meanwhile, Julia ran out to try and convince Marysol and Alexia to stay. Julia had a hunch about why Ana was coming; she supposed Adriana was bringing Ana to blast Alexia for having to move out, which, as far as Julia knew, was nothing more than a rumor. Alexia, however, refused to stay; she thought it was “a setup.”
Guerdy and her sister-in-law, Jill, arrived shortly after that, with Lisa and Larsa close in tow. Lisa rolled up in her housekeeper’s car after facing heat from the girls for continuing to drive Lenny’s car. Guerdy thought Lisa was just trying to prove a point, but she was doing so in poor taste, inadvertently making fun of her housekeeper for the car she drives.
But once the cast was all gathered, Marysol explained why they were leaving. Everyone tried to get them to stay, but they refused. Marysol believed that Adriana, Nicole, and Ana hatched a plan together out of spite, and she was happy that Alexia was finally taking her side on something. Larsa asked the cameras what they were running from.

Those who remained went upstairs to begin lunch. Once there, Lisa revealed she had some baggage with Ana as well, who had said “heinious” and “heenious” things about her. She meant “heinous,” but in any case, Lisa supposed Ana was coming only to stir up trouble.
Everyone asked Nicole why she allowed Ana to come if she knew the history. Nicole insisted that she didn’t know the history at all. She only knew Ana as a client of Anthony’s. When asked, neither Guerdy nor Larsa knew the history either, prompting Nicole to ask, “Why the hell should I know what’s going on?”
Guerdy reminded everyone she’d be having her surgery the next day, and lamented the fact that not everyone could come together for lunch. Julia raised a glass to Guerdy, calling her “a warrior,” and everyone drank to her fighting spirit.
Once again, Lisa can’t take the heat

After some more small talk, the conversation moved to Lisa’s car. “I saw the joke,” Guerdy said, but Lisa insisted it wasn’t a joke. Things turned a bit tense. Guerdy tried to say she was just looking out for Lisa, but Mrs. Hochstein was so prideful that she couldn’t see it that way.
Lisa’s attention then turned to Julia, who had brought up the concern over Lisa’s relationship with her kids. The night Lisa called the police, the ladies found it slightly odd that she still chose to come out rather than stay with her kids. The girls tried to urge Julia to apologize, but she insisted she’d done nothing malicious (which was true, IMO). Lisa walked out.
In a confessional, Nicole called her Mother’s Day meal “a motherf*cking disaster,” and back with the ladies, she encouraged everyone to write three nice things about Lisa for a poet to spin into a poem. When Lisa reentered, she apologized and read her poem aloud, crying tears of joy.
The arrival of Ana Quincoces

Finally, Ana arrived alongside Adriana. She handed a gift to Nicole, then went straight to Lisa. Much to the OG’s surprise, Ana said that she was rooting for her. “F*ck Lenny,” she added. Lisa was confused and noted some apparent nervousness in Ana. “I wouldn’t be comfortable if I were her,” Lisa opined.
Immediately, the women began grilling Ana about why Marysol and Alexia might’ve left. Ana didn’t know. She admitted that her daughter had said some mean things about the duo, like calling Marysol a “rotting corpse,” but the last time she was with them, things were good. She asked why they wouldn’t confront her if there truly was a problem.
Lisa stepped out, giving Marysol a call. Meanwhile, Larsa asked the fairest question – why did Adriana bring Ana if she knew it would be a problem? Adriana responded, “You’re not the hostess,” and wouldn’t entertain the question further. Lisa told Marysol to come back, and she and Larsa would help defend her.
Kiki then left as everyone else shouted, making that the fourth storming out of the day. Nicole wished Kiki could’ve taken her along.
Back at the lunch, the shouting continued. Adriana insisted she was trying to resolve some “issue.” Larsa tried arguing and Adriana exclaimed, “You weren’t there, darling. You were in LA for 10 years kissing Kardashian’s ass.” Ana hadn’t spoken for a while, by the way.
Lisa tried to insist that Ana had “an agenda,” but Ana denied any such thing. Alexia and Marysol soon made their way up, and no one seemed all that happy to see them. Larsa said she had a migraine from doing nothing but fighting. Alexia accused Ana of trashing the entire group and Ana shot back with, “Who did I trash?”
Ana further pushed: “Go person by person and tell me what I’ve said about them.” Weird thing for an allegedly innocent person to demand. Nicole jumped in, telling Alexia that in all the time Ana had been there, she hadn’t said a bad thing. Alexia then tried to posit that Nicole said she didn’t know Ana, and Nicole denied saying that. “Do not put words in my mouth.”
Nicole maintained her transparency and added that Ana had been nothing but pleasant to her. Alexia dug the hole deeper, dragging Nicole’s mom into the conversation, wondering why she wasn’t at the meal. With the shouting showing no sign of dying down, Guerdy left.
Adriana, rather shockingly, felt pretty proud of herself for starting “World War III … It’s kind of entertaining, I must say.” Julia was glad Ana didn’t get much of a chance to speak, but she was angry that Adriana brought her in the first place. She was even angrier that Nicole was taking the heat for Adriana’s plus one.
Nicole closed things out with a haiku: “Planned a fun party / People got very upset / F*ck my life / For real.”
Guerdy enters her first breast cancer surgery

Guerdy left her house the next day at 5:18 a.m. “All right. Let’s do this.” She told the cameras she “felt numb.” As Guerdy herself explained, she’d be having a partial mastectomy. Dr. Wright introduced herself, trying to help Guerdy stay at ease. Once the doctor left the room, Guerdy called her parents.
She cried as they shared their love in both Creole and English. Her father left a prayer for Guerdy, and she felt so tormented at the prospect that her parents might lose another child. She and Russell shared a hug, and Guerdy pleaded for him to “Just be with me.” Russell insisted, “Everything’s okay.”
As much as she didn’t want to, Guerdy had to let go. Russell told her to try and relax before he had to let go too. Hours later, Nicole called Russell, wondering how things were going, but Guerdy still wasn’t out.
Julia puts her foot down with Adriana

Elsewhere, Adriana met up with Julia after the latter gave her dog a bath. Julia revealed things got steamy during the Mother’s Day after party, with Julia getting handsy and kissing Lisa right on the lips, hoping to make up with her. Adriana and Julia began eating and reviewed what happened at the party.
Adriana compared Marysol and Alexia to Bonnie and Clyde running from the police. Julia didn’t appreciate the comparison and instead chose to empathize with Alexia. She pointed out how bad it would’ve been if Ana had brought up Alexia’s finances. Julia, as Adriana’s “best friend,” said she had to criticize Adriana’s choice to try and blast Alexia.
Adriana couldn’t understand why Julia would be defending her new friend, Alexia, rather than her longtime friend. Adriana tried to implicate Nicole as well for allowing Ana to come. Julia didn’t appreciate that Nicole was taking heat for Adriana’s poor choice. As Julia tried to “play devil’s advocate,” Adriana couldn’t take it anymore. She got up to leave.
Alexia and Marysol vow to investigate Nicole

Speaking of Nicole, she checked out her new living space with Anthony, seeing how the renovations were coming along. Nicole dreamed of having two kids running around the house’s rooms and halls. That’s when the discussion moved to Mother’s Day.
On the other side of town, Marysol and Alexia were also discussing the debacle. The two were both wearing black for having survived the mournful ordeal. Anthony told Nicole that he saw Marysol and Alexia getting drinks while the lunch was going down.
Marysol called the event “a Swiss cheese party” for all the holes in the narrative. Alexia agreed, further wondering why Nicole’s mother wasn’t there. The two agreed that Nicole was being deceitful and they’d have to get to the bottom of everything that was going on.
Guerdy comes home to recover

Five hours after Guerdy’s surgery, she and Russell returned home. Guerdy hugged her youngest son Liam with tears, saying, “I’m okay.” When Guerdy made it to her bedroom, she found a little display with a picture, Gatorade, snacks, and notes, set up by her kids. She gave her oldest son Miles a big hug as they expressed their love for each other.
“This is what home is all about,” she told cameras. Russell informed her son that the doctor said everything had gone excellently. However, the family would still be waiting to know if their matriarch would need chemo. Guerdy took to bed to rest, calling Russell her “everything.”

The Golden Wedding is right around the corner. The happy couple is spending their final days of engagement by sitting down for interviews with every entertainment outlet you can imagine. The topic of conversation this time around? The Golden Bachelor’s kids – and those of his wife-to-be.
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist will make Bachelor Nation history by becoming the first Golden Bachelor couple to walk down the aisle. During a recent panel with the show’s producers, they shared that the production team dove into wedding planning just hours after the final rose ceremony.
Now, in a new interview with People, the couple has changed their tune a little bit. They clarified that the wedding planning hasn’t been 100% set up by production. Allegedly, Theresa’s daughter has been helping, and they’re all pushing for this spectacular wedding to be a family affair.
Theresa has a daughter named Jen, a son, and six grandkids. Gerry also has two kids and two grandkids. According to the couple, there’s a spot for every single one of them in their wedding party.
“They’re all involved,” Gerry shared. “There’s a spot for every family member in the wedding party … We wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Their kids involvement doesn’t stop there. Theresa said her daughter has been helping plan out all of the wedding details. The bride-to-be called her daughter a “lifesaver” for her role in planning. After all, they only had a few months between the engagement and the wedding.
Theresa explained, “There’s so many decisions that had to be made, and in some instances, she would get the vision board together for me or she would get ideas of dresses and veils and rings.”
Meanwhile, Gerry said he’s just happy to have someone willing to help. He said he hears joy in Jen’s voice when she talks about the wedding, which is just the icing on the cake. He added, “It makes me so happy that she’s having this much of a good time with it. It’s like, what could be more fun?”
Oddly enough, the Golden Wedding falls on the same day as Jen’s birthday. So, they’re going to have two reasons to celebrate. According to Theresa, Jen’s excited to share her special day with the happy couple.
“It’s the biggest gift for her,” Theresa said. “She fell in love with Gerry.”
The Golden Wedding airs Thursday, January 4 on ABC at 8/7c.

Although the moment made for some great reality TV, not everyone was living for the mess. And now, one cast member in particular is speaking on it.
Dr. Simone Whitmore recently chatted with OK! Magazine about Season 10, and she apparently wasn’t too impressed with Phaedra’s shenanigans.
Disapproval from the doctor
Dr. Simone was one of the main proponents of bringing Sweet Tea into the M2M circle. For some reason, she wanted Dr. Gregory Lunceford’s new wife included in the circle. So, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that she didn’t appreciate Quad crashing the bachelorette party.
“Phaedra made a poor decision,” Dr. Simone said of the petty moment.
Phaedra exhibiting poor decision-making skills isn’t new. However, Dr. Simone still gave the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star the benefit of the doubt. With Quad on the outs with the M2M circle, Dr Simone said that she thinks Phaedra’s intentions were good. She just wanted to bring the group back together.
Simone explained, “She’s listening to some of the ladies ask about Quad. I’m sure she listened to Quad complain about us as a group of friends. But I think Phaedra had good intentions.”
She continued, “She was basically saying, ‘Let me create a bridge between the ladies and Quad.’ It was just such poor timing.”
Obviously, Sweet Tea didn’t love the timing either. Who would want their husband’s ex-wife at their bachelorette party? She ultimately asked Quad to leave, and the OG cast member’s position in the group has been rocky ever since.
It’s not clear if Quad and Sweet Tea will ever be able to coexist in the same social circle, but you can’t say that Phaedra didn’t try to make it work. The timing may have just been a little questionable.

Despite recent reports suggesting a rift between Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, The Golden Wedding is still on (as far as we know). The Golden Bachelor stars still intend to tie the knot, even in the face of alleged arguments and several reports about Gerry’s past.
Fans initially loved Gerry, but heavy is the hand that holds the rose. All the attention the show gave him backfired when fans started looking into his past. On the show, Gerry claimed he hadn’t dated since the passing of his wife, but online reports disagreed.
Still, allegations aside, it was all too clear that Gerry loved his wife, and Theresa similarly loved her husband. She was married to William Nist for over 40 years before his passing. With these relationships at their backs, Gerry and Theresa felt it right to remember their old partners.
Theresa and Gerry reflect on the “time we have left”
In an interview with E! News, Theresa spoke on plans to honor past loved ones. “We will definitely mention them during the wedding. I know that I picked out a song that Billy loved, and so maybe we’ll pick out a song for Toni. We have yet to write our vows, but I plan on incorporating that into my vows. So, we’ll see. And we’ll be thinking about them the entire day.”
But Gerry and Theresa both feel very different now than when they each married their old flames. “When you’re younger,” Gerry began, “you have a lot of priorities about children and earning a living and all those things. With us now, all we have to do is, if we feel like we’re in a rough patch, look at each other, be honest and start talking – have the communication.”
Gerry continued, “When you’re older, your priorities tend to gravitate towards what’s gonna be fun for years to come rather than what’s gonna be work?” Theresa agreed, adding, “Gerry’s right. We know that we have to enjoy life. We don’t know how much time we have left, and we want to enjoy every single second.”
The Golden Wedding premieres January 4 at 8/7c on ABC.

2023 was the end of an era for Sister Wives. What the future has in store for the show is somewhat up in the air given how quickly the titular wives are splitting from Kody Brown.
And more power to ‘em! Kody has hardly been an exemplary husband to one wife, let alone four. Still, even as each wife embarks on their journey of independence, some are taking it better than others.
At least, so say the wives. Christine is getting remarried, after all. From her position, it might be easy to look down on, say, Janelle. Of course, Janelle was not going to take such commentary lying down.
Is Janelle not moving on properly from Kody?
During the Sister Wives Talk Back special, Chrstine asserted, “From the day that I asked him to not stay there anymore, I took my life back and I got it back and I became stronger that day.” Of Janelle, she added, “I’m not saying that Janelle has to follow the same path and she has [a] way different situation than mine, but she needs to know it is OK on the other side.”
However, Janelle thought very differently of Christine’s suppositions. “This narrative that Christine talks about all the time frustrates me. I’m fine. I am separated from Kody,” she explained. She thought the comparison Christine made was simply unfair.
She went on, “Kody and I are no longer going to be together, and she acts like I’m sitting here needing encouragement to leave, I need to be shown that it’s OK – and that’s just bullsh*t because I have left. I have three children that still live in Flagstaff. So why would I not stay here? I like Flagstaff. I have three kids here.”
Janelle concluded her thoughts by saying, “Just because I can’t move away right now because the assets are all scrambled – I can’t take my part of our estate and go somewhere – and the fact that I’m not dating and I’m not trying to move out of state, it’s like I’m not sitting here needing to be told that I have the power to leave. I’ve left, I just didn’t move.”
