Cheryl Burke Slams Dancing With the Stars for Airing During Strikes

Dancing with the Stars is in a tough spot. Season 32 is set to premiere on September 26, but striking Writers Guild of America writers are picketing the show. Several of the contestants, including Alyson Hannigan, Matt Walsh, and Mira Sorvino, were listed on the striking writers’ signs. The goal is for the contestants to quit the show. Or for ABC to push back the premiere date or scrap the season.

While some other shows were set to premiere, the hosts later changed their minds. Both Jennifer Hudson and Drew Barrymore decided to wait until the end of the strike. As of this writing, DWTS is moving forward.

But former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke had some thoughts about the messy situation. She is promoting her new podcast on iHeartRadio, titled Sex, Lies and Spray Tans. It is all about the show, and some behind-the-scenes secrets. Variety has the scoop.

Cheryl says the show must NOT go on

“Well, after the Drew Barrymore thing, I have mixed feelings. Even in the pandemic, people can say, ‘Why would you do this?’ When you’re talking about the entertainment industry, this is a sensitive subject,” Cheryl explained.

“In order for things to change, we have to stick together, point blank, because if one show just decides to think about the show on its own, this is not going to make big changes,” the dancer stated.

She continued, “Even the cast of Friends when they asked for more money, they all stuck together. The problem is that if we don’t, then we’re setting a precedent, and I don’t think it’s gonna be good for the show, to be quite honest, in the long run,” Cheryl said. For DWTS fans, losing the season would be a huge disappointment.

The former dance pro added, “I understand what they’re thinking, and I get it. It’s a business, but there is no business without the rest of the business.”

So, Cheryl, who retired from DWTS last season, thinks that the show should not move forward. “I think they should hold tight. I think we need to stand as one. We need to unite for real, and not just say we’re united,” Cheryl said.

I’m crossing my fingers that a solution is reached soon.

Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars premieres on Tuesday, September 26 at 8/7c on ABC, streaming live on Disney Plus, and available the next day on Hulu.

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet Not Yet ‘Official’

When people found out that Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were seeing each other, everyone saw the pairing as strange, even by celebrity relationship standards. Social media commentators wondered what the two would have in common, let alone talk about.

Nevertheless, the relationship persisted past the commentary. Things started out casual but reports gradually came out that the two were getting more and more serious. Still, The Kardashians star and the Oscar winner only ever saw each other in privacy.

That is, until Beyoncé’s 42nd birthday concert where the two packed on the PDA together. Not only were they very unashamed in front of other audience members, but also members of Kylie’s family. So, things seemed official from then on out. Until now.

Kylie and Timothée’s “strong bond” is casual?

An insider close to Kylie spoke with Us Weekly about the new relationship. “Although they’re not official yet, they have a really strong bond and spend as much time together as possible. Things are going really good and friends think they make an adorable couple.”

Kylie’s loved ones have reported that Timothée brings out “a whole other side of her,” according to the source. “They’ve never seen her so happy and they love the qualities Timothée brings out in her. She can totally be herself, and she’s much more laid back with him than she’s been in past relationships.”

Beyond that, there’s a genuineness between the two. The insider shared, “Timothée has proven he doesn’t care about the superficial things because he likes her for her.” Reportedly, Kylie has had an “ease about her” throughout her new romance. It’s good that the pair seem happy. But if making out at a Beyoncé concert doesn’t make a couple official, what does?

Bethenny Frankel Was Almost Cast on Donald Trump’s Apprentice

With all the news that revolves around Donald Trump nowadays, it’s easy to forget what he used to be. The general public used to favor Trump in many ways. He was the strange man who would cameo in Home Alone 2 or The Little Rascals.

When The Apprentice dropped in 2004, Trump’s popularity reached an all-time high. He became known for his signature catchphrase, “You’re fired,” as well as Trumponomics. In a strange instance of the butterfly effect, it was this popularity that would snowball into a future presidential campaign.

It’s interesting to imagine how the present might differ if just one thing had changed. Like, for example, if Bethenny Frankel had been on The Apprentice before her time on Real Housewives of New York. Bethenny recently said that was almost the case in an Instagram reel.

Bethenny Frankel, you’re fired

“I was on the normal person’s Apprentice, meaning not The Celebrity Apprentice. I was selling these Bethenny Bakes cookies at a trade show at a booth. And I asked my partner … to record me selling cookies … and that was the video we sent in.” Bethenny got a callback, explaining her excitement with the show being at its peak after the first Trump season.

“I made it to the finals where you go to the Doubletree Hotel in Santa Monica for a week. I was so broke, I needed the job … It got down to where I could only count 20 people and I thought, ‘I think I got this.’ They came to my room on the last day and they said, ‘You didn’t make it.’” Bethenny was made the first alternate, but no one backed out.

It wasn’t a total loss, however. A year later, Bethenny would be cast on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, where she would take second place. And if it weren’t for her time on that show in 2005, she probably never would’ve become a Real Housewife in 2008. That’s the butterfly effect.

RHOM’s Larsa Pippen and Boyfriend Marcus Jordan Join The Traitors Season 2

Season 2 of The Traitors just got really interesting. We’ve been following the casting rumors about all of the potential reality stars headed to the castle. We expected to see a few Big Brother and Survivor alums, but we definitely didn’t see this casting news coming.

The Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen has joined the cast, and she’s not alone. Her new boo, Marcus Jordan is coming too. The couple have officially joined the cast of Season 2 of The Traitors. People confirmed the news, and now Season 2 can’t come soon enough.

For Season 2, the show is having a slight format change. Instead of bringing in a mix of famous faces and regular people off the street, this season will be cast entirely of stars. At first, that news was a little confusing. But, if they’re going to be loading the cast with people like Larsa and Marcus, then they might be onto something.

Rumors about Larsa’s casting began floating around when she shared an Instagram Story of herself flying into Scotland. Marcus has also been documenting his UK adventure on social media. It won’t be surprising if these two lovebirds enter the castle holding hands.

It will be interesting to see how entering the castle with your significant other will impact their gameplay. This will likely put a huge target on their back. Or, what if one of them is a Traitor and the other one is a Faithful?

We’re still standing by for the full cast announcement, but so far, Season 2 of The Traitors is shaping up to be another epic round of television.

Savannah Chrisley Slams Rumor Mom Julie Plans to Divorce Dad Todd

Will a prison sentence break the Chrisleys? While Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley spend the 2020s behind bars for their role in a tax evasion scheme, rumors have started about whether or not their marriage will survive the prison sentence.

During the trial, it was alleged that Todd had an affair with his business partner. With all things considered, you’d think their marriage would be crumbing right about now. However, their daughter Savannah Chrisley is pushing back against that idea.

Are the Chrisleys headed for divorce?

Ever since Todd and Julie went to the big house, Savannah has been filling in as the head of the household. Chrisley knows best? No, Savannah knows best. She took custody of her little brother and niece, and she’s practically become the family’s spokesperson. If there’s anything Chrisley-related in the news, you best believe Savannah is going to be commenting on it. So, of course, when a divorce rumor started to float around about her parents, Savannah was quick to shut it down. She took to her Instagram stories to dispel the rumor.

“I was notified that the National Enquirer was going to be running a story on or about Julie Chrisley hiring counsel to file for divorce,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “That is a lie and the only reason I’m speaking about the National Enquirer is because, frankly, you should be held accountable for all of your lies. The fact that you are going out here trying to wreak havoc on people’s lives with a lie is absolutely insane.”

Savannah continued shutting down the rumors on Instagram, writing. “No, my mother has not hired counsel,” and “If she did, it would have gone through me. So, that whole story is a lie.”

So, it looks like for now, the Chrisleys are sticking it out and standing firm in their marriage. And, they only have a few more years left on their sentence. Todd is set for release on January 22, 2033. Julie gets out on October 19, 2028.

Heidi Montag Claims Lauren Conrad ‘Loved’ Spencer Pratt Before The Hills Feud

There should be some term limit on commenting about reality TV feuds of yesteryear. It’s been over a decade now, and the only reason to bring it up is to try and grasp some sort of post-peak relevancy.

Such is the case of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who are apparently trying to reinvent themselves after their stint on The Hills New Beginnings. They started a podcast together, and are in the process of trying to generate interest. Hence the interviews, and hence the comments about their feud with Lauren Conrad.

Heidi alleges that Lauren wanted a single wing-woman

The reality TV couple gave an interview to Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea Podcast recently where they commented about the show that brought them fame and fortune. Of course, that would be The Hills.

And Heidi claimed that her former best friend “loved” Spencer in the beginning. To the point where she felt Lauren was crossing boundaries.

“So, actually, she loved Spencer to the point where I was like, ‘OK, you don’t need to love him that much!’” Heidi explained.

“There were a few points where she was like, ‘My dad would just love you! You should meet my dad.’ I’m like, ‘He hasn’t met my family. and I don’t really think that’s appropriate,’” the former reality TV star continued.

Did Brody mess everything up, or the paps?

Heidi thinks that Lauren’s alleged change of heart on Spencer had to do with her souring relationship with Brody Jenner. If Lauren was going to be single, Heidi would have to be single too, she alleged.

Heidi said, “It was the fact when Brody wouldn’t date her anymore or hook up with her or whatever it was, and then she’s like, ‘We’re done with them,’ basically. And it’s like, ‘We’re not done with them. I really like Spencer.’”

So who was Lauren to stand in the way of true love? But there were other issues, such as Spencer’s dealings with the paparazzi.

“Lauren was so mad I called the paparazzi,” he said. There was an instance at The Grove mall in Los Angeles where the two couples were out together and Spencer organized for photos to be taken. According to him, Lauren objected.

“That was also when she started, [being] like, ‘Wait, I don’t like this. He’s masterminding over me, and I have an agent and a manager.’ She was a pro, this girl,” he stated.

For her part, Lauren left reality TV behind and does not speak of her former best friend. Perhaps Spencer and Heidi would be well advised to do the same. It reeks of desperation.

Julie Chen Thinks Sharon Osbourne’s Exit From The Talk Was ‘Handled Horribly’

Julie Chen has been a reality TV mainstay in many homes since 2000. As the host of CBS’ version of Big Brother for over 20 years now, she’s cemented her reputation as an accomplished presenter. But in 2018, Julie stepped down from her position on the CBS daytime talk show, The Talk.

She walked away over her husband’s sexual misconduct allegations. She wouldn’t be the last co-host to step down from the show over solidarity with a man. In 2021, another reality TV staple, Sharon Osbourne, would step down from the show after defending controversial commentator Piers Morgan.

Piers had made some comments about Meghan Markle that other co-hosts on The Talk deemed racist. Sharon’s defense would ultimately lead to her departure from the show. Julie recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live to discuss the events.

Julie saw Sharon’s exit as “a train wreck”

A fan asked Julie what her reaction was to Sharon Osbourne’s “sudden departure from The Talk,” and when the last time they spoke was. Julie said they’d texted “probably before” Sharon’s departure. “I would say maybe eight months before that … Her departure, I thought, was, um, I think the whole thing was handled really horribly.”

She went on, “It was very sad to see.” Andy Cohen said he felt Sharon should’ve gone on and talked it out, as per the show’s name. Julie agreed, saying, “Yes, and I didn’t feel like it was produced to the point where … I don’t think people knew what they were doing and getting themselves into.”

Julie concluded her thoughts by saying, “The whole thing was a horrible mess. It was watching a train wreck.” Commenters voiced their support for Julie, with one writing that “She’s probably one of the most professional” journalists still reporting, and that “she still keeps it professional.” Another wrote that The Talk just hasn’t been the same without her.
