The Real Housewives of Dubai Officially on ‘Pause’ After Season 2

Does Real Housewives of Dubai have anywhere to go from here? Bravo has stopped the show in its tracks. Its fate is almost entirely up in the air, but things aren’t looking good.

RHODubai was always a bit of a gamble on Bravo’s part. From its announcement, the show faced criticism. The Housewives franchises are arguably feminist media. Moreover, Bravo properties generally hold a special place in the hearts of LGBTQ+ viewers. As such, fans criticized the very premise of RHODubai.

Why would Bravo set a flagship franchise in a location with observable human rights issues? Unfortunately, it would seem the network’s gamble did not pay off. The Season 2 reunion went out with a fizzle rather than a bang in viewership. And at this point, a potential cast shakeup won’t be enough.

On November 7, Us Weekly reported that RHODubai was officially “on pause.” An insider told the outlet, “The cast was told a couple days ago.” As of right now, that’s about all there is to know. Us Weekly reached out to Bravo for comment with no response as of yet.

Those who have kept a close eye on RHODubai might have seen this coming. According to TV Deets, Season 1 performed moderately well with an average of 590,000 live viewers per episode. Unfortunately, Season 2 suffered a huge dip with about 291,000 average viewers per episode. Now, if the show is taking a hiatus, it probably means Peacock viewership isn’t much either.

We can compare Dubai to a show like Real Housewives of New York. As TV Deets reports, the Season 14 reboot averaged 506,000 viewers – even less than Dubai’s first season. However, Bravo reported that RHONY performed very well on Peacock. That said, RHONY Season 15 is currently performing more in line with RHODubai Season 2, which isn’t a great sign, even with Peacock.

Along with Dubai, Bravo recently announced pauses for Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard and Winter House. Still, a pause doesn’t mean the end. Dubai very well could come back down the line. But as it stands, fans perhaps shouldn’t get their hopes up.

Real Housewives of Dubai is streaming on Peacock.

Love Is Blind Season 7: Nick Dorka Denies Calling Hannah Jiles a ‘Grenade’

It’s been over a week since Love Is Blind Season 7 concluded, but Nick Dorka is still stewing over his confrontation with Hannah Jiles. She put him on blast at the reunion, and now he’s working overtime to try to defend his honor. He really doesn’t want to be the villain of the season.

In his latest attempt at redemption, he doubled down on the stance he held at the Season 7 reunion. He swears he never called Hannah a “grenade.”

Did Nick blow the grenade whistle?

During the Season 7 Love Is Blind reunion, Hannah showed up ready to argue. She had a list of grievances to air out, and one of the most surprising was her accusation that he called her a “grenade” shortly after meeting her for the first time.

Now, we do have a hard time believing anyone is running around using the phrase “grenade” like they’re in a 2012 episode of Jersey Shore. However, Hannah swore up and down that Nick insulted her looks. All of the ladies of Season 7 backed her up, leaving Nick feeling ganged up on.

The dust has somewhat settled from the reunion, so Kaitlyn Bristowe invited him onto her Off the Vine podcast. During their chat, he doubled down on his argument that he never called Hannah a “grenade.” Yet, he didn’t deny commenting about her looks.

Nick explained, “I did tell Ramses [Prashad] and Garrett [Josemans] off-camera in guy talk [that] I was a little underwhelmed by how she looked.”

According to Nick, that “guy talk” wasn’t supposed to be repeated. However, we know that reality TV’s best moments are born from comments that were never supposed to be repeated. Nick learned that lesson the hard way, and in an interview with Us Weekly, Hannah revealed she actually learned about the “grenade” comment from Marissa George. That means that if anything, he should be mad at Ramses.

“[Marissa] was the one who told me about the grenade comment and the rating thing,” Hannah explained. “She had known in Mexico, but kept it from me for a while because she didn’t wanna hurt my feelings, which I totally understand.”

The notebook of red flags

Outside of the grenade comment, Hannah also confronted Nick over a notebook she found where he listed out his 90-day vision. Hannah said that one of his goals was to become the “most famous” person to do Love Is Blind. He didn’t deny that, but he claimed it was taken out of context.

“I wanted to find someone on that journey,” Nick explained. “I want people to like us as a couple and thrive that way.”

According to Nick, his notebook was just him “messing around” so it shouldn’t have been weaponized against him. He said the real red flag in that situation was the fact that Hannah went through his stuff. He said it felt like an “invasion of privacy.”

“Why are you going through my damn notebook? That’s not cool,” Nick said. “I don’t want a partner going to pick up my phone, type in my password and go through it. That’s not who I am.”

Since Hannah has been battling Love Is Blind trolls ever since the first episode dropped, Nick theorized that she tried attacking him at the reunion to try to win back some cool points.

“Maybe she got a bad edit or she needed to save face and she wanted to get at me even more,” Nick speculated. “There was no point in bringing it up because that was before I met [her.]”

Love Is Blind Season 7 is streaming on Netflix.
