Bethenny Frankel might be long gone from Real Housewives of New York, but she’s never truly gone from our hearts. Too much? Ok, maybe. But I love what Bethenny was bringing to the table for all these years. I don’t think I’m the only one with these feelings either. We just told you guys about the big ratings dip on RHONY now that she’s gone. Coincidence? I think not.
Since her departure, Bethenny has been working overtime to help with coronavirus relief efforts. Plus, there are all the funds she raised to aid black-owned businesses that are struggling. And charity isn’t the only thing that has been keeping her busy since her exit. She recently announced that she’s coming out with a new show and casting as we speak. The premise is to for aspiring entrepreneurs to compete for a spot on Bethenny’s executive team. Kind of reminiscent of her stint as an investor on Shark Tank, but much more hands-on. I actually can’t wait to see this one. After starting out as a contestant on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, Bethenny has really come full circle.
As if that wasn’t enough, now Bethenny is expanding her brand even further. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bethenny is coming out with a new podcast called Just B With Bethenny Frankel.
The podcast is set to launch in September of 2020, which is just around the corner! It will be available on Apple, Spotify, and other listening platforms.
So the big question is what is the podcast going to be about exactly? If her current focus is any indication, it will be about business. But Bethenny has always been an open book so maybe it will be content about her life too? Or maybe a marrying of the two. I’m hoping for a little bit of both.
It seems like these days, everyone has their own podcast. But I’m not listening. Ok, I lie. True crime is my jam. But for the Bethenny content I’m missing, I am definitely checking this one out.

Real Housewives of New York’s Jill Zarin was an original cast member and stayed on for four seasons. She chose to leave at the time, but has given clear indications that she wants to return. Viewers saw Jill on the periphery of last week’s episode, trying to charm her way into the group.
The main target was Dorinda Medley, who was having none of it according to Jill. Perhaps it was not the best time to charm Dorinda. She was in fine form at Luann de Lesseps Halloween party, seemingly taking over as hostess with a very passive-aggressive toast. Maybe it wasn’t the best night for Jill to ingratiate herself to Dorinda, as Dorinda was otherwise occupied with attacking Ramona Singer.
Jill and Elyse Slaine lived streamed together after the episode aired to discuss what went down during the party. According to Jill, there was a lot of hostility from Dorinda behind the scenes.
“I wanted to go that weekend up to Dorinda’s house,” Jill explained, “I’m glad I didn’t, cuz I think it would have been bad for me. But I wanted to, and Dorinda blocked me. She was very mean to me at the party that night.”
Dorinda accused Jill of using her to get back on the show. And while ranting at Jill, Dorinda had another “clip” moment
“She was so mean to me,” Jill explained, “I said, ‘you know Dorinda did I do something to you, you’ve been very mean to me?’ and she goes, ‘BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO. We’re not doing this on the show. You’re just using me to get on the show.'”
During the episode, Jill questioned whether Dorinda always behaved in a confrontational manner. “It was very hurtful,” Jill said, “and I like Dorinda. I liked Dorinda Season 1. I don’t like Dorinda this season. She’s not nice. I think she’s angry and hurt, coming from a place of all that. But the reality is, I don’t see her being very nice to anyone.”
Does Jill still want to be back on the show? It certainly sounds like she is presenting herself as a useful ally. She said, “I don’t know why Dorinda felt so threatened by me. If anything, I would have been very loyal to her because have a history together. I would have been a good person to back her up against Ramona.”
“I would have been an ally,” Jill continued, “and that’s what this game is like. It’s like a game of chess and you have allegiances and stuff like that. ”
Being that this episode has brought in lower ratings, this mix of boozing and strategizing doesn’t seem to be working. Perhaps we need a cast shakeup. And Jill is ready.

Let me tell you something about my family – they loved The Sopranos. I never watched it because it scared me. Reading these stories about former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo and her first husband Tommy Manzo, brings up the same bad feelings. In case you missed it, Dina’s ex-husband Tommy (the brother of Albert Manzo – who is also the husband of Dina’s sister, Caroline Manzo) hired a hitman to attack her current husband, David Cantin. I guess the Manzo family is not as “thick as thieves” as stated years ago at the Season One reunion of RHONJ. Caroline has even spoken out about this matter, supporting no one in her family, by saying, “I want to know the truth and my allegiance will lie with the truth.”
Back in May 2017, Dina and David were the victims of a violent robbery that left them so shaken they moved across the country to the West Coast. A man named James Mainello was arrested in connection to this attack. Before this terrifying attack, in 2015, Tommy apparently hired a hitman to commit a violent assault against David in exchange for a reduced price on a wedding reception. I know the economy has been bad, but desperate times do not call for abusing people. Finally, some justice is being served, and it looks like Caroline will have to show some allegiance to Dina.
According to People, Tommy and the hitman he hired, John Perna, were arrested Tuesday and ordered to stay away from Dina and David. Both Tommy and John plead not guilty to charges of “planning and carrying out an assault on Cantin in exchange for a discounted wedding reception.” As reported by People, the indictment reveals that “John Perna was scheduled to hold a wedding reception on August 16, 2015.” The location of the reception was The Venue in Passaic County, where Tommy acts as co-owner.
The documents state that Tommy was upset with David’s “ongoing relationship” with Dina and that he, “planned to have a violent assault committed” on David, that was to “leave a permanent facial scar.” That is legitimately terrifying! Tommy offered “to hold the reception for free or at a deeply discounted price,” if John, “would commit or cause to be committed a violent assault” on David.
John followed through with the plan “on or about” July 18, 2015. According to the documents, along with a different hitman, John followed David to a shopping mall in New Jersey, where they attacked him “in the parking lot.” John and his accomplice used “a dangerous weapon” intended to “inflict serious permanent injury on David.” Tommy then “fulfilled his agreement to hold the reception at a free or discounted price,” the documents attest.
Tommy and John have been charged with “committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity and conspiracy to commit a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity.” John has additionally been charged with “conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud related to the submission of a false car insurance claim.”
Additional charges have also been brought on Tommy for “falsifying and concealing records related to the federal investigation of the violent crime.” It sounds like Tommy is in deep! While we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, for now, let’s be happy that Dina and David have some protections in place.

Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Dina Manzo has been through some serious sh**. Just to catch you up, back in 2017, Dina and then-boyfriend, David Cantin, were victims of a home invasion. Not just home invasion but they were also beaten during the traumatic event. While the couple ended up being ok, it was reported that masked thieves made off with jewelry and cash. Dina went on to have a happy ever after by marrying David. But that wasn’t the end of the story.
A little over a week ago, we reported that Dina’s ex-husband, Tommy Manzo, was the man behind the 2017 attack. He has been charged with hiring a hitman to attack David, to which he has pleaded not guilty. The indictment on Tommy alleges that he recruited a member of a well-known crime family to carry out the attack. In exchange, the hitman would receive a big discount at the catering hall co-owned by Tommy. The catering hall? The Brownstone, which was regularly featured on RHONJ. And guess who else owns it? Tommy’s brother, Albert Manzo. Also known as Mr. Caroline Manzo.
I’m certainly not insinuating that Albert has anything to do with it and he hasn’t been charged or even implemented in any way. He’s just stuck defending his family through all this mess. Seems to be the Manzo thing to do. According to the New York Post, Albert is denying all mob ties that have plagued the family for years.
Regarding the death of his father, a supposed mob hit, Albert says, “My father was no gangster. He was a wonderful, hardworking man. He was never accused of anything else pertaining to being a gangster. The shame of it is that our family were the victims of a murder which was never solved, and it was spun as a mob hit.”
Albert is also defending his brother Tommy, saying “I believe my brother is innocent. My father was, too. It’s awful what happened to Dina’s husband. We just have to hope that whoever really did this is found and goes to jail.” Albert went on to add that Tommy is out on bail and back running the Brownstone with him.
Despite the defense of his brother, Albert also wants people to know how much he cares about Dina. He says, “I grew up with Dina, I knew her since she was 7. We don’t want a hair on her head harmed. She is still my sister-in-law. She always will be.”
I think we can all say that we are thankful Dina and her husband are ok. Now hopefully they will get the justice they deserve.

Phaedra Parks hasn’t been on Real Housewives of Atlanta for years now but who could forget her? She dominated the hilarity on the show for years. And her reads were way funnier than NeNe Leakes could ever hope to be. Yes, I said it! I regularly use Phaedra-isms in my everyday life. The phrase “oatmeal pie face” is actually more useful than you would think.
But Phaedra is not without controversy. She got busted for setting up castmate Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams. Phaedra claimed Kandi and her husband tried to drug and rape Porsha. And that was the end of her time on RHOA. Which was the right call. Despite being dropped from Bravo, Phaedra has stayed in the spotlight and has decided to return to make a return to TV on Marriage Bootcamp: Hip Hop Edition. No, she’s not married. But she is booed up with Medina Islam, who is partaking in the show with her.
We know Phaedra and Medina have been together for a minute. Now Phaedra has a surprising revelation for us about their relationship. On a recent episode, Phaedra revealed that she and Medina have never had sex.
Phaedra explains to HollywoodLife, “Well, it’s a decision I made [myself]. Medina was definitely totally against it, but for myself, I needed to know him in an intimate way outside of a physically intimate way because prior to Medina I dated a guy in Chicago. And that was a long distance relationship and it was very passionate, but when we became physical, it hindered us getting to know each other intimately on any other level.”
She continues, “And so I wanted to make sure that this time [that] I wasn’t blinded by the passion and that I really knew who Medina was as a person. Because that can sometimes change your thoughts about a man in a good way and in bad way. I wanted to know that I was not rushing into a physical relationship in this scenario. He was obviously totally against it, but I had to do what was best for me.”
Well, I can’t really argue with that. Phaedra makes some good points, provided that her claims are true. Let’s not forget this is the same woman who wanted us to believe she was getting induced at 6 months to cover up conceiving before marriage.
But back to the story. In the latest episode of Marriage Bootcamp, it was pretty obvious that Medina wasn’t really into Phaedra’s decision to abstain. But in Phaedra’s eyes, they have bigger issues to work on. Like their long distance relationship and difference in communication styles.
Phaedra says, “In my opinion, of course, we’re bi-coastal. And unlike a lot of women out there, I have a lot of masculine traits because I work in very male dominated fields. Being a lawyer with mostly men, in the funeral business it’s mostly men, and so in working with men all the time I think that some of the traits that guys, generally have and I think that can sometimes be hard for me and because they’re probably used to women who are a little softer and, you know, a lot different for me. So, communication can be hard for me because I’m constantly working, I’m very type A, and sometimes I’m a hard nut to crack.” Indeed.
Regardless of their issues, I’m curious to see how these two will shake out. Sex or not.

"You know what I have? A Sims family that keeps getting murdered." Those are the famous words of Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) on 30 Rock, words many can relate to since the game came out in 2000....
Looks like Aaron Phypers doesn’t have to rely only on paychecks from his wife rich folks looking to heal themselves via radio frequencies anymore! Thanks to his beloved, Denise Richards, Aaron can now call himself a soap opera star. Aaron has already made himself quite known on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. His dinner party conversation is only decipherable after 9 shots of tequila or a trip to the local dispensary.
While the entertainment industry is finding it’s legs and putting shows back on television, certain changes will go into effect to ensure the safety of cast and crews. Reality television can proceed with adjustments, but scripted programs will present specific issues. Namely, close contact with people you don’t live with and… dun, dun, duuuun, love scenes. As Denise returns to the set of The Bold & The Beautiful, she explains how intimate scenes during a pandemic will go down.
Aaron is being called for duty, but for the love of Jesus and Dolly Parton, I hope no one asks him about his other job. Filming has resumed on The Bold & The Beautiful and Denise’s husband has joined the long-running soap as a stand-in. Denise’s character has a love interest, but COVID-19 has put a damper on kissy segments. In an effort to continue storylines and keep the audience entertained, actors are using their real-life partners to remain safe under new guidelines.
This is actually pretty brilliant, as long as no one’s significant other is hoping for a daytime Emmy. Denise told HollywoodLife how shows are getting around one of the most integral parts of a soap opera, the love scenes.
She said, “If there are more than two actors, we have mannequins. If there is an intimate scene, they’ve asked us if our significant other can step in for that person. Otherwise, we’ll be doing a love scene with a doll.”
I’m sure some of these dolls have more personality than the person they are replacing, so it might be a nice change of pace. All kidding aside, it’s great to see the care and consideration going into making sure everyone involved remains safe.
Denise is having Aaron step in in for her character’s boyfriend, instead of using a doll. Great choice, but at least the doll wouldn’t speculate about being followed because of controversial medical practices. Denise said, “He [Aaron] is standing in. And, he came with me today [July 7].” She explained, “Every week we’re tested [for COVID-19].”
Apparently, Aaron took a COVID test the first day he showed up. No word on whether or not his frequencies were tested as well. Denise confirmed, “Every week the whole cast [is tested]. He [Aaron] starts standing in next week.”
Denise is “excited” to get back to work and praised the show’s producers for implementing a “very safe environment”. It will be interesting to see how Hollywood navigates the new standards of filming in a pandemic setting. The back of Aaron’s head will surely be a great addition to the cast, and he’s helping his wife. As long as no one challenges Aaron’s knowledge of sound waves holistic medicine or mentions quantum energy fields, this has the potential to work out well.
