The first episode from the Real Housewives of Dallas Season 2 reunion has been a LeeAnne Locken bashing session. In reality, everyone on the opposite couch should be grateful for LeeAnne’s antics blessing them with a story line, but no one seems to get that. Thankfully D’Andra Simmons has LeeAnne’s back and seems to be the most reasonable person in the cast.
D’Andra is the only person who can check LeeAnne and defend her just as well- and LeeAnne really needed the latter after that brutal first part of the reunion.
D’Andra shared her thoughts on the reunion in her Bravo blog. She explained the comment that she mad about being a “boss bitch” unlike Stephanie Hollman: “When I said that Stephanie doesn’t have a boss bitch attitude like me, I meant that she is not very strong. My mom would call her weak. For some reason, she is confident and sassy in her confessionals, but in a one-on-one conversation, she avoids conflict. Case in point, LeeAnne dressing up as Two-Faced Stephanie and going to her Halloween party. If I were in Stephanie’s shoes, LeeAnne would have been out on the curb in a split second.” Fair enough, but that would have made for way less interesting episode.
D’Andra continued, “A boss bitch doesn’t need her husband’s approval to do things (but family decisions like buying a home should always be mutual, Travis [Hollman]). I was calling out the fact that, as many have noticed throughout the season, Stephanie is unable to make her own decisions.” She pointed out, “In fact, it seems throughout the season, Brandi [Redmond] and Cary [Deuber] have directed Stephanie as they see fit. I would not have needed my husband’s approval to kick LeeAnne out our house, but Stephanie apparently did. Why would I continue to entertain someone who is taking advantage of my kindness by making fun of me?”
D’Andra wasn’t done sharing her opinions on the dynamic between Stephanie and Travis. She wrote, “Travis talks down to Stephanie on a regular basis by throwing his ‘breadwinner’ status in her face. And Stephanie may be getting back at her husband for purchasing a house without her approval by spending a lot of his money on renovations, but trust me, Travis is paying for a lot more than just a house, so this is one husband who is happy to oblige. I hope Stephanie gets tough and learns to NOT let people push her around. It’s great to be sweet but not so great to be gullible!”
Another comment that D’Andra needed to clarify from the reunion was when she stated that LeeAnne “uses her PTSD when it’s convenient” for her. She wrote, “If you noticed in the honest tea episode when LeeAnne started on her tirade about her past and her upbringing, I jumped on the defense and told her to stop. This is not because I don’t believe her past or her ‘PTSD’ is legitimate, but I know from watching Season 1 and now living out the last year that the more she brings that out as a reason for her bad behavior, the less the ladies respect her.”
D’Andra added, “LeeAnne has her issues from her past, and so do I. I’m proud that she’s been seeking help to work through them, but when she uses them to explain why she acts a certain way, the ladies see it as deflecting. In reality, it truly is the root cause of the behavior, but like the boy who cried wolf, the more she explains it that way, the less validity the ladies see in it. When I said that she uses her PTSD when it’s convenient, it was a little harsh — I will admit. I know she’s troubled by her past, but I believe her constant dwelling on it and her suffering harms her more than helps with this group.”
Stephanie, Cary, and Brandi keep insisting that they don’t “feel safe” around LeeAnne, which D’Andra dismisses, writing, “it’s ridiculous to me that Cary, Brandi, and Stephanie keep pedaling this nonsense about feeling unsafe around LeeAnne. It’s stupid. LeeAnne is not a threat to anyone, and these girls are just perpetuating this story to continue to fight with LeeAnne and show her in a negative light.” Clearly, they don’t feel that unsafe if they continue making fun of her, showing up for events where she will be in attendance, and filming a reality show with LeeAnne. D’Andra declared, “Let me say this: I feel safer with LeeAnne’s hands than with my back turned to some of these ladies…”
The knocks just kept on coming for my girl LeeAnne during that reunion. It was confirmed that Brandi did not say anything to LeeAnne during her infamous “they’re just hands” rant. D’Andra admitted, “Speaking of backstabbing, let’s discuss the conversation behind closed doors with LeeAnne and Brandi. Am I surprised that after the tape was checked Brandi had said nothing to spark LeeAnne’s ‘hands’ monologue? Yes, I am.”
But we all did see Brandi bring it up on the way to the surgery. Isn’t that close enough? Obviously the conversation was still on LeeAnne’s mind minutes later. D’Andra concurred and wrote, “What I will say though YET AGAIN is that Brandi brought up Cary’s comments about LeeAnne’s doctor in the car ride to the procedure. When someone is on the way to surgery, you should never bring up a negative conversation, especially when LeeAnne was already freaking out about her procedure.” EXACTLY.
D’Andra continued, “When you add in prescribed drugs, the mind can be its own funhouse at the fair. What she said was not okay. Was it a threat of murder? HAHA, no. Was it inappropriate? Obviously, which I have said countless times, but I don’t blame LeeAnne for having a medically-induced outburst. Cary had been very condescending to her in regards to her impending medical procedure, attempting to discredit her doctor with her knowledge as a ‘medical professional’ (please save my ears from having to hear that one more time as well as ‘my body is a temple’). All parties involved (Brandi, Cary, and LeeAnne) made mistakes and are at fault here.” I agree with all of that- especially having no desire to hear Cary ramble on and on about her perfect body.
Part one of the reunion ended with LeeAnne walking off the set after it was announced that Cary’s husband Mark Deuber would be joining the ladies. D’Andra wrote, “And now we get to the real kicker of Part 1 of the reunion. Kameron Westcott, LeeAnne, and I had all been told that the reunion filming was closed. It was VERY shocking when Andy [Cohen] said that Mark would be joining us. As you could tell, Cary was SO distraught that she flew into a rage when I questioned why Mark was allowed to be there. Gotta love an adult temper tantrum! Mark’s entrance definitely upset our side of the couch.” Obviously someone knew LeeAnne would provide some premium content if she was caught off guard by Mark’s arrival- but it’s pretty shitty that half the cast was made aware of Mark’s appearance and the rest were in the dark.

Did Peggy Sulahian save this Real Housewives of Orange County season by offending everyone (the cast members and the viewers) at the end of the Iceland trip? For the most part the fans can agree on two things: this season has been disappointing and Peggy needs to go. Nevertheless, she did make that last episode pretty exciting- even though she crossed boundaries more than once.
She said that Shannon Beador’s husband isn’t loyal to her and she called out Meghan Edmonds’ mothering abilities when she talked about her baby crying. She even made Lydia McLaughlin late for a dinner that she planned and intended to host. Peggy offended everyone and she was the one who left the trip.
Lydia discussed the last episode in her Bravo blog post. And shockingly enough she just skipped over the parts of the episode where her “friend” Peggy majorly insulted Shannon and Meghan.
Lydia wrote, “Once we got back to the hotel, Peggy told me that she would meet me in my room to talk. I knew there was the big Viking dinner planned for our last night that I was super excited for. When Peggy showed up to my room in her pajamas moments before we all were supposed to be in the lobby, I was torn. I wanted to be there for my friend, but I also was the host and wanted to experience this amazing night with all my friends.” Poor Lydia, there was no one to stir the pot with if she was stuck with Peggy in the hotel room. Thankfully she got a chance to go to the dinner that she planned and Peggy did all the shit stirring for her.
Lydia said, “When Peggy expressed her feelings and told me everything that happened, I just felt bad for her. However, when she busted out the video tape, I wasn’t happy. I didn’t think that was a good call, and I didn’t need to see a video to prove her feelings were hurt. I knew all the videotape would do would cause more drama.” Plus the video proves nothing. It’s just a video of women laughing. There was no mention of Peggy specifically or any indication that they were laughing at Peggy. It was a completely useless piece of “evidence.”
She continued, “Peggy watching it over and over just continues to hurt her, and the girls would be upset because they were videotaped! I just want everyone to get along, and I was glad Peggy finally decided to come to the dinner. She is a strong woman.” Is she though? Or is she just contractually obligated to attend?
Lydia admitted, “I thought it was big of Kelly [Dodd] to apologize right when Peggy walked in. However, Peggy wasn’t ready to forgive and forget, and that didn’t go over well. She ended up leaving that night and I gave her a hug as she left the hotel.” Seriously, Lydia? This was a pity post dedicated to Peggy with zero acknowledgement of the remarks that she made about Shannon’s marriage and Meghan’s mothering.

After the last Real Housewives of Atlanta season was centered around Kandi Burruss, this current one seems like a breeze for her two episodes in. That’s probably because most of Kandi’s drama is playing out on the docuseries with her girl group Xscape. The tension between Kandi and these ladies rivals the tension between Kandi and Porsha Williams on RHOA.
There seems to be a lot of love there, but there are issues over the past and the present that the ladies still don’t seem to agree on. So of course Andy Cohen was stirring up the pot when Kandi and the rest of the group stopped by the Bravo clubhouse to tape a Watch What Happens Live episode.
Andy made it clear that he is really into the Xscape spin-off show when he said, “I feel like I’m finding out more about Kandi’s secret life that we didn’t really know about.” And she does not seem too happy about that – aside from the additional paycheck.
After polling the audience to see if they’re on Shamea Morton or Porsha’s side in their feud, Andy told Kandi, “I guess I know whose side you’re on.” Kandi confirmed the obvious with “Clearly.” And for the record, 77% of the viewers made the right choice sided with Shamea.
Andy pointed out, “Kandi, it kind of seems like you don’t know the moves. ” Instead of just laughing about not being the best dancer, Kandi alluded to tension in the group when she said, “We were learning the moves in that part, but it was some things that happened in different episodes that I didn’t know because they had done stuff without me, so I didn’t know changes that they made to the song.” So awkward.
Andy asked Tamika Scott, “Was it hard for you to say ‘I made up the story about Jermaine Dupri?'” Tamika answered his question with a question: “Did I make up the story about Jermaine?” Yikes. The tension between these women is palpable. Kandi interjected with, “It wasn’t about the Jermaine part.”
Andy pushed, “Did you make up the Jermaine story?” Tamika insisted, “I didn’t make that up.” Kandi admitted, “Jermaine and I hooked up, but that’s not why the group broke up.” Andy clarified, “I’m asking about the radio interview”- obviously alluding to the radio interview where Tamika said Kandi was sleeping with everyone including Jermaine’s father.
Kandi commented, “There were other things that were said in interviews.” Then she said, “You said I hooked up with Jermaine’s dad and that’s absolutely not true.” Tamika said, “That was what I said that wasn’t correct.” I felt like I was watching a group therapy session instead of an interview. Even Andy wondered, “Things are all good with the four of you right?” That is very unclear.
Getting back to Real Housewives of Atlanta, Andy asked, “Do you think Porsha is right to get mad at NeNe [Leakes] for saying she should be fired from the show, or does their fight go deeper as NeNe says?” Kandi answered, “Their fight definitely goes deeper. They have not even been talking for the last couple of years. They weren’t friends, so to me when you ask NeNe about her opinion on what happened last season, I’m like she wasn’t even her friend when she said what she said.” Porsha is just thirsting for a story line. Going vegan is not enough for Porsha to hold up a peach in the opening credits.
Andy asked Kandi about Shamea expressing that Porsha isn’t a good friend. Obviously, Kandi sided with Shamea and said, “I can totally understand why Shamea felt that way. I mean if you were great friends with somebody and then you saw the stuff she said behind her back on the show, you would be mad too.” How does Porsha think she is a good friend after the way she gossiped about her “best friend” all season? That makes zero sense.
When Andy asked if the group would record new songs, Kandi said, “The three of them are doing new music.” Again- so, so awkward.
Andy asked, “Is it under the name Xscape?” Kandi said, “I don’t know,” and none of the other ladies provided any additional clarification. Kandi just said, “I’m going to Broadway and some other things and they’re going to be working on music,” when she was pushed to explain why she wasn’t recording new music.
Just when I thought this interview could not be any more awkward, they all chose themselves when they were asked to name which member was the most successful after the group split up. Seriously? Isn’t Kandi the obvious answer here?

Hell has frozen over. Pigs are flying. Yes – Briana Renee has finally left her lying, cheating, manipulating husband, Matt Ericson [Grundhoffer]. The Little Women: LA cast member and Matt have been married for three years. During this time, Briana’s friends, cast mates, and family have questioned the relationship every step of the way – and for good reason.
Now sources are saying that Briana left Matt last month “because there was no way of resuscitating their three-year marriage.” This news comes, no doubt, as a relief to many. But how long will the separation last?
Matt, who has a history of being arrested for domestic violence in past relationships, swept Briana off her feet with promises of love and support, but eventually, totally isolated her from family and friends.
Before and after their marriage, Matt was also caught “sexting” photos of his genitalia to women he met online, as well as talking trash behind Briana’s back. Last season of LWLA, cameras followed Briana and Matt’s tempestuous relationship all the way to Alaska, where Matt cheated on Briana in the hotel with a bartender he met there named Stephania.
Stephania even showed up to the LWLA Reunion to share details of their make out session, but even this sordid tale didn’t convince “Ride Or Die” Briana to kick Matt’s a$$ to the curb! Now Briana is digging her heels in on making the separation permanent. “We’re told there’s zero chance of reconciliation, and divorce is looming,” a source told TMZ.

There’s reason to question the permanence of this separation, however, considering Matt and Briana are reportedly still living under the same roof. They share a 16-month old baby, Maverick, together, as well as two kids from previous relationships (Briana’s daughter and Matt’s son). Although “they sleep in separate rooms,” the couple has not officially parted ways yet.
Though it’s been a long time coming, this news may come as a shock to Briana’s loved ones, cast mates, and fans who she’s universally spurned as “haters” whenever criticism of Matt’s doggish ways arose. Let’s hope she’s finally living up to that “Fierce Little Mama” title she’s been chasing after for so long and saying goodbye to Matt once and for all. It will be good riddance to bad rubbish, for sure.

Where was NeNe Leakes on last night’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta? Doesn’t really matter because it turns out the real drama is how the show is driving Kenya Moore‘s 10 second marriage to ruin. The Bravo curse strikes again? Immediately.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Bailey is stranded at the lake all by herself with no one but the leaves to talk to. If it sounds like the start of a bad – very bad – horror movie where a desperate, lonely woman turns to the wrong kind of guy, you’re right! After a relaxing bath, Cynthia finds herself on a date where she is blindfolded and wandering the dark and creepy hallways of a chicken farm while getting her photo taken by Malcolm X’s long-lost twin, Evan.
The most horrible thing of all though is that Evan is actually only 29. A very maturely dressed 29, but 29 all that same and that is TOO young for the fabulous 50 Cyn. But seriously – what type of photography studio is on a farm? Why was Cynthia wearing a ballgown to the farm? What was that fuzzy thing he wrapped around her face – an animal pelt he slaughtered himself? Then there was the weird staged ‘private’ dinner which was basically stolen right from the Peachter Thomas playbook. The entire thing… just no. All the nos.
Later, Cynthia confides in her counselor/daughter Noelle about Evan’s age. The wise Noelle, who at 17 is about to drive to Charlotte to visit her boyfriend and be chaperoned by Peter, reminds Cynthia that she actually IS old enough to be this Evan’s mother. And since Cynthia can’t even act like Noelle’s mother, their relationship probably isn’t gonna work out!
Porsha Williams is a nut. Therefore it’s probably good that she’s becoming a “baby vegan” – cause, nuts. I don’t really know what a “baby vegan” is, but it appears what Porsha means vegetarian, and she believes this is the key to a life of spiritual, emotional, and physical health. Porsha isn’t removing shit-talking or BS from her life though, which probably would improve her life.
Porsha’s sister Lauren is moving in with her daughter Bailey, so Porsha gets to be the cray auntie full-time. Lauren is a vegan, which is why Porsha decides to throw out ALL the meat in her whole house. Plus her Baconator. Porsha has a fridge and freezer full of organic meat and after pawing at all the meats, she just leaves them sitting on the counter to go play with something else. If this is how Porsha treats man meat, no wonder she’s single! Also, is salmonella her newest weight loss plan?
In the middle of throwing all the meat into a trash bag, Porsha also ponders if she should still freeze her eggs – not the ones currently going bad on her counter, but the ones near her Yoni Egg (Full disclosure: In order to remember what that was called I typed “vagina crystal” into Google. I don’t recommend that!). Lauren warns Porsha that giving up all animal products is one thing, but what about the Hennessy currently fermenting her eggs?
Porsha is a hot wreck. That is all.
Moving along, Sheree Whitfield has a life coach named Jack Daniels. No affiliation with the potentially life wrecking beverage. [Disclaimer: Jack Daniels can also be a wonderful, refreshing, bad-decision affirming fun-ness juice). Sheree is there because she STILL hasn’t confronted Bob’s abusive behavior, and she’s never discussed it with her children. Even though it’s been on TV. Instead, Sheree is focused on Kairo’s delicious, thick and fluffy pancake making prowess! Jack Daniels gives Sheree homework to practice talking about her past so she can warm up to the idea of having this discussion with her children. Clearly, this is really painful for Sheree and I do like how open she’s finally being to the cameras, but her kids shouldn’t be forced to see this secondhand on Bravo! (Again).
OK, so all of this is very important. Very. But I have to admit I am more fascinated by Sheree’s hair in the interviews. What is that Hulk Hogan from the 80’s wig she’s wearing? (She-Ra Princess of Power?) That blonde two-tone mullet, which makes Sheree look like she works at a truck stop bar in the middle of nowhere, clearly has to be from the Kim Zolciak Wig Collection? Or borrowed from La Wigstra herself? Then there is that other look with the ginormous bun-thingy which looks like a croissant on top of her head. Usually I love Sheree’s elegant and sophisticated She By Sheree’ness, but all the Bob drama must be distracting her into fashion falters.
Weirdly, Sheree borrows Kandi Burrurss‘ guest house – is it available on for rent on Air B&B or something? – to invite her friends “The Bone Carrier Group” to practice discussing Bob’s abuse. Apparently, despite the fact that Chateau Sheree is more enormous than the buns atop Sheree’s head, it’s not big enough for her to hide a gathering of friends where she discusses her past. Why can’t they just use Kandi’s actual house? Is she trying to use the guest house as a tax write-off by filming there? Maybe Kandi IS making it available on Air B&B?
Anyway, with Kandi pretending to be ‘Sheree,’ she leads the discussion to Sheree‘s friends, who are playing Sheree’s kids. Then Sheree took over and practiced being herself talking to her kids. I thought she did a great job – very honest and forthcoming about her concerns and fears. Maybe Kandi should turn her guest house into a retreat – like Kandi Fix My Life; a halfway house for hapless Housewives in need of direction.
Actually, maybe Sheree should rent the Chateau out on Air B&B! I mean girlfriend always seems to be in need of extra income.
Kandi has her own problem though. That problem is obviously Porsha, who hasn’t addressed the whole drug and rape allegation, but instead is acting like easy, breezy, nothing’s wrong here, girl!
Kandi and Porsha are supposed to travel to Kenya for Shamea Morton‘s wedding, but mysteriously Porsha claims she can’t afford the $10,000 first class ticket. Even though Shamea is her childhood friend and supposed BFF, and Porsha is IN the wedding! Why, if you are requesting so many esteemed friends travel to Kenya, wouldn’t Shamea simply charter a plane? And just think of all the drama Bravo could milk out of Kandi and Porsha trapped on a private plane?!
The real problem is that Porsha has flimsy excuse after flimsy excuse for why she can’t get herself a ticket. Shamea simply wants Porsha to be honest with her about why she won’t come, but instead Porsha forwarded her some medical records and a doctor’s excuse explaining that she’s medically unfit to fly coach and she can’t afford the ticket. No one (me included) believes Porsha, with all her JOBZ, is that broke.
Kandi is relieved that she’ll get to enjoy a trip to Kenya without Porsha being all fake up in her face. Unfortunately, she has to endure Shamea’s bridal shower first. This bridal shower was billed as a classy afternoon tea, and classy it did seem, until the games portion of the afternoon.
Porsha predicted that no matter the ladies who lunch attire, Shamea would find a way to “turn up,” or turn classy into trashy and ass-y (literally). Like, one game involved putting ping pong balls in an empty tissue box, tying it around the your waist, and making the women twerk to shake the balls out of the box in a lovely game called “Shake What Your Mama Gave You.” The worst game was, tying a hot dog around your waist and having to dangle it above a Dixie cup with a hole poked into it. It’s called “Weiner In The Hole.” Sheree won that round. Poor Porsha, once the Hennessy turn-up queen, she’s lost her freakitude. But we all know Phaedra Parks would’ve shaken that tissue box until even Jesus couldn’t fix it!
Also, Porsha wore her WEDDING BAND and ENGAGEMENT RING as a fashion accessory to Shamea’s shower? That’s just in poor taste, basically jinxing your friends nuptials with your bad divorce juju. It’s also desperate. And if Porsha is so hard-up for cash, sell that thing!
After the games, the famished ladies gathered around the table for a lunch of feasting on each other. Which meant Shamea ripping into Porsha about her doctor’s excuse for missing the wedding. Porsha has low blood pressure, you guys, which means she can’t fly coach! At the end of the table, Kandi and Carmon snicker and mock Porsha’s nonsense. Really girl? Low blood pressure means you can’t even fly business class?
I mean yeah, my dog ate my vegan homework too.
Also, if Shamea means so much to Porsha, why wouldn’t she plan ahead and buy that first class ticket a little sooner when it wasn’t so expensive. Porsha was an actual bridesmaid in Shamea’s Dowry Ceremony held in Atlanta, but now she’s skimping out on the for-real wedding? Cause of LOW BLOOD SUGAR. Eat some damn candy and get over yourself. Shamea claims she’s sill counting on Porsha making a last-minute appearance, but after everyone leaves the shower, Shamea and Porsha get into an argument in the parking lot. Porsha is mad because Shamea chose to air all her dirty doctor’s notes laundry in front of the Kandi Koated Klique, especially after Porsha privately sent Shamea her medical records to prove she is so ill from The Vapors that she cannot get on a plane that is not the lap of luxury.
If Shamea wanted to read crap, she would’ve just read Sheree’s book. She tells Porsha their friendship has never been the same since Phaedra entered the picture. I just want to know what type of doctor Porsha has, because I need some of his treatment. Last season she was prescribed a friend with her at all times lest she get angry and her tempers upset her delicate constitution; this year Porsha can only fly first class like she’s married to an African Prince Kenya previously left at the altar. After Shamea calls her out, poor Porsha with her hurt feelings, decides she is forced to love Shamea at a distance since this friendship is too damaging to her psyche. And she has a doctors note that says that’s OK!
Finally, after about 6 minutes of being a Mrs, Kenya’s marriage is in trouble. Marc, this mysterious entrepreneur she married on a secluded beach, cannot take the sudden media spotlight of being Mr. Kenya Moore. PUH-LEASE who does Krayonce think she is – Beyonce?!
According to Kenya, no one wanted her and Marc to marry, and he even fought with his own mother over their marriage. Now, he’s staying in NY to deal with businesses and she’s in ATL talking to her annoying dogs and, once again, petting an abandoned wedding gown with tears in her eyes.
Kenya is also confiding to her producer that all the mean people on the internet are ruining her happiness with their judgement and speculation that her marriage is fake. Kenya is the girl who cried marriage. She DID have a slew of rent-a-menz, so naturally people are going to assume this one is the same deal. Although I want her to find happiness, we’ve seen her fake relationships with Walter, some African “prince” who asked her for money on Craigslist no one ever saw, that guy she pretended to date from Millionaire Matchmaker until his wife put Kenya on blast, and I don’t know whatever the hell that mess with Matt was but she claimed he was The One too, and now all of the sudden she puts a wedding on Instagram and no one has met this man? Of course people are gonna have suspicions!
Kenya wails that she doesn’t want to get divorced before the ink on her marriage license is even dry. She doesn’t want to end up alone, with only King and Twirl to get her through. Porsha and Kenya should just move into Moore Manor together with their crazy delusions and be like the Ms. Havishams of Atlanta. I can’t with these two.

O’ Delusion, thy name is 90 Day Fiance! This week, we travel deeper into the rabbit hole of each couples’ fantasy that their Happily Ever After awaits. Except for the fact that Thailand-David is too drunk and broke to keep his bride, Annie, interested long enough to force her on a U.S.-bound plane. Luis is sick of being Molly’s houseboy, and he’s apparently sick of pretending that he is normal. Because he could potentially be the most inappropriate cast member to EVER grace this show (and that’s saying a lot, considering who’s been foisted on us over the years).
Andrei’s visa interview gives Elizabeth the smeary-red-lipstick-sweats. Josh thinks his mail order bride Aika can actually be a model (please refer to alums Paola and Russ for actual video evidence of where this dark journey leads). Nicole and Azan fight over the $3 and half box of doughnuts they have to their names, as well as why veggies are good for you. And Evelyn and David – well, they just continue to suck on every conceivable level, don’t they? We were blessed with another two-hour episode, so my apologies ahead of time for these freaking War And Peace length recaps! (Though they probably have just as much dramatic content. Because, as we all know, this show is pure 14-karat GOLD – and not the Thai-David-layaway kind.)
In Ireland, Elizabeth waits at a cafe for Andrei to come back from his visa interview. As she frets and rubs her cheeks in a circular motion, she hopes that her high school theater improv session with him paid off. After Andrei arrives, he gives Elizabeth the stone face first, good news second: “I got it!” he finally shares. Elizabeth squeals with delight, knowing she won’t have to move to Moldova now. Andrei wasn’t nervous at all – he’s “always successful,” according to him. And highly successful people do not give two f**ks about their future in-laws, apparently! Or at least Andrei doesn’t, and tells Elizabeth this plainly. She is, of course, not allowed to say anything back.
With 74 days to wed, Molly and Luis are at home doing what new lovers do…ignoring each other. Luis has other plans, like talking to Olivia about his intentions to force strangers to call him daddy wed her mother. Outside, Olivia listens to Luis explain his love for Molly and his plan to propose. After showing Olivia the ring, it’s like this poor girl just accepts fate, sighing, “this is what my mother wants.” She does, however, think Luis needs to slow his roll. “I’m not saying don’t get married, I’m just saying don’t rush it,” advises Olivia, who is the wisest person in this house. But Luis is on the 90-day clock, which stops for no one.
In Thailand, David continues to wear his monochromatic prison clothes while he Skype’s his daughter, Ashley, back home. His kids are not okay with dad dating a woman not much older than them, and Ashley acts like she doesn’t even know who the eff Annie is when he talks about her. “Phantom Annie!” laughs Ashley, who isn’t even convinced her father is dating a real, live human. The real scoop is this: David has avoided telling his kids about Annie because he’s scared of them. Nice.
In an attempt to normalize an entirely jacked up situation, David brings Annie into the Skype call. Ashley is pleased to see that Annie is there of her own free will, not tethered to a water buffalo or chained to a chair. But she’s still skeptical of this woman. David hasn’t even told his kids they’re engaged, which Annie is obviously upset about. I mean, damn! Her entire village danced for this loser, and he can’t even tell his children they’re about to get a new MOM? Get a grip, sir.
Speaking of children, Nicole, Azan, and May are frolicking on the beaches of Morocco after Nicole’s revelation that she sorta-kinda cheated on him again. Nicole thinks if they pretend to be a family for the day, it will stick! Because Nicole has the frontal cortex capabilities of a toddler. At least May gets to ride a camel on their “pretend family day,” so there’s that. As they sit down after the camel ride, Azan admits it’s not easy being a parent for 10 days. Nicole whines that it’s really hard when you have a job too! Whhhaaaaaaah! (As a reminder, we’re supposed to believe Nicole works at Starbucks. It’s important to note that this fact has been corroborated by no one yet, but I think Starbucks should get involved to clear their good name STAT.)
Azan complains that he lost his restaurant job because he needed more time to text Nicole. Um – WHAT? Nicole agrees that someone’s job had to go! Their online dating wasn’t going to run itself into the ground all on its own! Lord, the idiocy of these two is baffling. In an even more shocking twist, we find out that Nicole has been sending Azan hundreds of dollars since his texting-at-work a$$ was fired!!! Ah, now we see Azan’s long con. It’s alllllllll becoming very clear. Nicole’s dad, who is sponsoring Azan because she “can’t afford it” will also be thrilled to hear this news, no doubt.
In New Hampshire, Evelyn and David are arguing at a tux rental shop. CJ, the long-suffering employee of said shop, bears witness to their spat about David not wanting his friends to spend money on tuxes and Evelyn whining that she’s waited her whole life for this wedding to be perfect! Her “whole life,” let’s remember, has lasted a mere 18 entitled, obnoxious, insufferable years. Evelyn also wants to choose David’s tux for him, because her style is superior. Erm. Not sure about that. Her Leather Tuscadero haircut notwithstanding, Evelyn’s style has consisted of bathing suit tops under cover ups and cold shoulder blouses thus far.
Finally, David gets permission to choose his own tux, as long as it’s black and white. (I wonder if he’ll get to choose what type of sandwich he’ll order later at the Country Cafe?) Right now, Evelyn is more concerned with the groomsmen’s unwillingness to rent tuxes, something David thinks is a financial burden to friends who are already spending major bucks to fly to the U.S. Outside, CJ basically tells producers she hopes these two get their sh*t together quickly, because they’re a hot mess.
David doesn’t think Evelyn knows how to compromise (ya think?!), while Evelyn thinks David should just do everything her way and they’d be fine! He’d like to find common ground, considering they come to the table with different cultural expectations. Evelyn’s response to this? “Well, you’re in America now.” Annnnnnd this is why the world thinks we’re morons! People like Evelyn are out there speaking on our behalf – egads. *Fun fact* – Evelyn would be the first person voted out of Survivor, any tribe, any season. Guaranteed. #QuoteMe
In Georgia, Molly takes Luis to a beach which, while it technically has sand, is missing an ocean. They make the best of their lakefront date, eating salami and Ritz crackers just like the fancy people do. As Luis waits for the sun to set so he can propose, they toast to…the beach. Huh? Okay. Then the moment finally arrives and, ring in hand, Luis kneels down to ask Molly to marry him. She squeals, “Yes I’ll marry you! What are you doing? I love you! That’s crazy! Huh?” So, it’s a yes…? Looks like Luis can now unclench his sphincter.
“You are my baby,” croons Luis. “I come here for you.” Molly is thrilled that their wedding plans are official. Now she can pick out cake and cheese and dresses! Not necessarily in that order.
Back in Ireland, Andrei and Elizabeth are at a pub celebrating his visa news. Elizabeth is happy that she’ll get to bring Andrei home soon, but there’s a hitch: Everyone she knows hates him already. Her family, her friends, her dry cleaner…they’ve all heard how “submissive” Andrei expects his woman to be, and they are not okay with it. When Elizabeth brings the issue up, Andrei is upset that Elizabeth has already thrown him completely under the bus with her family! He is, by the way, entirely correct on this point, but Elizabeth doesn’t see it this way.
Since she’s itching to start a fight, Elizabeth brings up having a bachelorette party. Now Andrei gets to flex his muscles, arguing that going to a club is not proper for an engaged woman! In fairness, he doesn’t plan to go clubbing himself anytime soon, either. Elizabeth pouts, “Don’t you want me to have fun?” Andrei thought they were out having fun tonight, but it doesn’t seem like it. These two are oil and water. But something tells me Elizabeth gets a little charge out of ruffling Andrei’s feathers, no? She likes this game.
It’s the night of David and Annie’s joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Thailand, so David’s ready to tie one on. He’s even wearing his special white collarless blouse for the occasion. (I don’t know it for a fact, but methinks David would be a big fan of the bolo tie – right?) Initially excited about the party, Annie grows increasingly annoyed at Drunk David, who’s revising his robot dance in the street for public spectacle.
“He’s so crazy,” nervously laughs Annie until they reach the final bar. Then suddenly, she’s done with this guy! She used to love him 80%, but it’s more like 32% after his antics tonight. When David tries to talk to her at the bar, he doesn’t seem too out of control, but Annie is incensed. In truth, she’s still probably angry about him not telling his kids about her, but is blaming it on the alcohol instead.
“I’m here for YOU!” Annie screams, not even sure she wants to go to America with this old foreigner now. Plus – she’s not really looking forward to giving his ATM-friend Chris those “Thai massages by the pool” as payment for lodging. Blech. (Although Chris’ wife, Nikki, is shouting all over the internet that the whole scene was staged and that Chris was forced by producers to ask that gross question…<side eye>). In any case, girlfriend needs a moment to reassess her options!
Annie’s friend encourages her to calm down, but she knows there’s more to the story too. David apparently drinks a wee bit too much on more than one occasion. Sauntering over, David puts his arm around Annie, apologizing and vowing that he’ll take care of her. Annie, who knows that this guy can’t even afford an extra buffalo, is not so sure.
On another mission impossible, Azan is in Morocco trying to make Nicole eat healthy food. Veggies are like kryptonite for Nicole, who refuses to chew anything that hasn’t been processed properly in a peanut-laced factory. At the open market, Azan buys veggies anyway, reminding Nicole that he wants her to cook healthy. Nicole isn’t used to seeing these fresh ingredients! The Walmart she lives shops at doesn’t have a magical refrigerated section – at least not one she’s ever touched before! Also, she likes her chicken Saran Wrapped, thankyouverymuch. But it’s only live chickens for sale here, and Nicole can’t handle it.
Back in the States, Molly and Luis take Olivia to lunch to talk about their engagement. Olivia’s body language reads “I have located the Exit signs,” but she agrees to eat, and to listen to Molly drone on about wedding planning. Despite her concerns, Olivia says she’ll help her mom out. That is, until Molly begs Luis to feed her at the table like a teenage moron out on her first date. Practically gagging, Olivia asks them to PLEASE STOP! “Mom and Luis are so gross. Like – why?” Olivia complains to producers. Yes, why indeed.
Molly finally stops giggling like a royal idiot when Luis says the following to her daughter: “You need a real boyfriend.” Record scratch. Again, Luis? Really, dude?!? Suddenly on her motherly high horse, Molly tells Luis that he can’t speak to her daughter that way! And what is he insinuating anyway? (I think we all know.) Olivia smiles, glad to see her mom on her side for once, but Molly can’t just pick and choose when she gets to be a decent parent. She needs to screw her damn head on straight before a social worker shows up at her door after leaving Kensley with him last week, for starters. Ugh.
In Arizona, Aika is living her “fairytale” with Josh and his roommates, especially because he thinks he’s landed a supermodel. Apologizing for his friend Joe’s rude questions, Josh hopes Aika will give him another chance. I, personally, hope Aika will give her natural eye color another chance. Because these Thriller contact are freaking me the frack out!
Josh has big plans for Aika, like walking around with her a lot in public so she raises his street cred, and encouraging her to model at nearly 30 years of age. Even Aika is realistic about her prospects, admitting she’s not really “the model type.” But she is the grocery store type! And her first trip to the Stop-n-Shop is everything she dreamed it would be, especially in stilettos.
It’s time to travel back to Evelyn’s teenage dream, where she and David are now in the cake-tasting portion of their joint premarital nightmare. Since cake isn’t Evelyn’s “thing,” she decides to let David decide the flavor. She’s all about compromise, this gal! As David licks frosting from a spoon, he imagines the life awaiting him in which Evelyn will lay out his clothes, check his phone every night for intel, berate his home country on the daily, but may let him choose dessert on Tuesdays!
When it comes to the cost of the cake, David is in shock. He doesn’t like spending all of this money on frivolous details, but Evelyn wants what she wants when she wants it. Their joint income – on Evelyn’s part time salary as a music/French teacher and David’s non-employment – is, of course, nothing. So obviously, their parents are footing the bill.
Evelyn thinks they can make their money stretch if they just plan well. You know – like writing budgets on napkins! And only getting a special cake for them, not the rest of the wedding guests. Let them eat sheet cake! David agrees.
Back in Morocco, Nicole is spazzing out over being forced to eat meat not in nugget form. Azan does his best to ignore Nicole’s immature rudeness, encouraging her to try his aunt’s food before they’re both thrown out of the house! Azan’s aunt asks if Nicole cooks at home? Um, do Toaster Strudels count? Because Nicole seems like the type of gal who’d be able to cook a 3-minute pastry. Azan’s aunt seems baffled by Nicole’s pickiness.
“She seems like she eats…?” she muses, going on to explain how it’s what Nicole eats that is the problem. This girl just has no interest in natural, healthy diet – period. And Azan ain’t never gonna change that. But he does make her eat a bite of brains, which is a good start. #BestTVMetaphorEver
Meanwhile, Aika is a victim of Josh’s brainchild back in AZ. He marches her to a modeling agent, sure that he’s discovered the next top something or other. Dang, man! Why set this woman up for humiliation like this? Sigh. After Aika reads a prep script (why is she reading at all?), she complains to Josh that she doesn’t want to be pushed into this. She also has problems with her “body parts” which she doesn’t want to put on display in bikinis. Hmm. I’m not even going to speculate on deeper stuff here, but will simply chalk her worries up to anyone’s natural insecurities.
After her nervous on-camera reading, poor Aika is told that she has potential – but only because they want to sell her “ethnicity.” What the actual hell? Um – is Josh selling her into some sort of sketchy “modeling” (wink wink) ring? Josh is thrilled, but Aika reiterates how much she doesn’t want to be a model. She wants marriage and a family, just as Josh said he did. Beaten at his own game, Josh finally allows Aika to leave the agency with what little dignity she retains. And you know, now I kind of hate him for doing this to her. Bad Josh! BAD!
Oh, but we can’t end there. Because back in GA, there’s more hideously inappropriate Luis behavior to behold! He tries to redeem his image by playing pool with Olivia, her uncle, and her friend – and by promising her that he’ll be on her side when it comes to secrets. “It’s your life, do what you want,” says Luis, winning points with this teenager, who is closer to his age than Molly is, incidentally.
All points are instantly lost, however, when Luis starts asking Olivia about her boyfriend. The questions start with “Do you love him?” and end with asking whether she likes him around “just to sleep with?” like “just for f**king?” Eyes popping out of their heads, everyone in the room just stares at this thing Molly has brought into their home.
UGH!!! WHY IS HE SO CREEPY AND GROSS? This is not a lost-in-translation moment. No, no. This is a Luis-has-lost-his-damn-mind moment. And Olivia’s uncle has now been downgraded to d-bag #2 for laughing along with Luis while he talks to a minor (and his future stepdaughter) in this utterly disgusting way.
When Olivia tells Molly about it upstairs, however, she is not quite as jovial. After hearing what Luis said, Molly is like, “Oh no. I’m horrified!” It’s weird, it’s wrong, and it’s got red flags ALL over it. But, you know, the fact that Molly does not kick this guy’s a$$ at this exact moment is actually more shocking than Luis being an idiot. Shouldn’t she be marching down to that basement this very minute? Where is all that “good parent” stuff now? Hmph!
TELL US: IS LUIS INSANE? ARE YOU SURPRISED NICOLE IS SENDING AZAN MONEY? WILL EVELYN ALWAYS GET HER WAY? WHY IS DAVID BEING SO SHADY ABOUT ANNIE WITH HIS KIDS?
