Celebrity Big Brother Recap: Day 23

On Day 23 in the Celebrity Big Brother house, we’re warned that this day will have the family task, where the housemates’ loyalty to the house is tested with temptation in the form of contact from their families. I have to admit this is my least favorite task every year; it’s very predictable and there’s just no time for it.

We start the day with Jessica Cunningham telling Nicola McLean that she has not one, but three boyfriends on the outside (take that Bianca Gascoigne), most of which know about the others (most?!?). Elsewhere, Jedward is doing swim aerobics in the pool; just another day then.

Today’s shopping task is Do Not Disturb – housemates must not disturb their surroundings with the temptation of family contact. They all agree to go for gold and not give in.

First up is Kim Woodburn and Jamie O’Hara. They are put in a room with a phone box and are told Kim’s husband and Jamie’s dad will be calling to speak. Neither Kim nor Jamie answer. Money goes in the pot for the shopping and both are in tears.

Next are Bianca and Coleen Nolan, and they are put in a room filled with paintings of Coleen’s son Shane and Bianca’s mum. The real people are hidden behind two of these pictures should they choose to forfeit some of the shopping budget. Neither do and both pass their part of the task.

We move to Jessica outside in the garden. She’s by herself but mutters “you are a winner” then jumps up and down in celebration. Strange.

Jedward have challenged Heidi Pratt to a chili eating contest. Now this is genuinely funny, with them all running around with open mouths and the strangest of noises, opting for drinking water from the tap, and downing huge pots of Greek style yogurt and milk whilst Calum Best and Spencer Pratt look on laughing.

For the final part of the task, Big Brother is challenging Nicola, Jedward, Speidi, and Jessica. Nicola and Jessica have a video message from their children, whereas Speidi has a message from Spencer’s sister Stephanie, and Jedward have one from friend Tara Reid.

And this is what irritates me about this, how can a video from a friend equate to a video from someone’s child? It just doesn’t, and that’s just cruel. Not that Big Brother is known for its fairness of course, but this is just a step too far. Nicola is in pieces and Jessica is being very brave, whereas the other two do not struggle whatsoever. However none of them give in.

Afterwards, emotions are clearly heightened, and so Nicola confronts a Jedward asking what he’s up to, like a naughty child. She’s really suspicious. Even if he had been planning something, he had not actually done anything wrong. Nicola is quite harsh (how very unlike her!).

We cut to the chase, and John asks if Nicola has changed her eye makeup today. She takes it as a passive aggressive dig and says that she has cried it off. She starts having a go at him again. We get another bicker, and it’s the same old, same old.  Calum ends up trying to keep the peace, and taking Jedward out of the way, saying it has been a long emotional day. Here’s hoping they don’t get booze.

We discover that Kim’s second husband proposed whilst doing the deed. I could have lived without knowing that, to be fair. Meanwhile, Nicola’s in the diary room slating Jedward. The camera should have stuck with Kim’s husband. It’s 10:02 PM, and Bianca and Jamie are joining in the chili eating contest. Bianca wins and Jamie picks his masculinity up at the door.

Housemates are gathered on the sofas for the result of the shopping task. Housemates have passed and they have music played in the house. James Cosmo has none of it and retires to the garden. Kim sits on the sofa, watching everyone dance, and it’s a stand out happy moment in the house.

Jessica is drunk and hiccuping. She’s on the sofa and over hears Speidi and Nicola discuss her chance of winning and Heidi saying she’d be lucky to come in 6th. Nice. Jamie and Bianca are in bed, and by the noises, it appears they’ve made up.

Coleen is talking to Big Brother about her marriage problems. She tells BB that her marriage is in big trouble but this experience has made her miss her husband but also that she is strong enough to get through it, whatever happens. Seeing her so honest and vulnerable is actually pretty touching.

It’s getting close to bedtime. Calum is in bed. Spencer comments that this is the 2nd night in a row that he’s been sober and Calum explains that he’s been feeling ill for the last couple of days and trying to not to show it. Speidi have been drinking and so make a couple of irritating comments but Calum keeps his cool and ignores until Speidi get called to the diary room. They tell Big Brother that the tensions will start in final week, and that they are coming for James C. Not genuine the other night then, eh?

Lisa Vanderpump Says A “Tiny Bird” Is Planting Rumors In Eden Sassoon’s Ear; Remains Loyal To Kyle Richards

Lisa Vanderpump thinks a tiny bird with a tiny baggie has been stirring up a potent brew of trouble on Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills… and she can’t help but wonder why?

Using her weekly blog to, as she says, “dissect these complicated dynamics,” Lisa is confused about why Eden Sassoon has Kim Richards‘ sobriety (or lack thereof) so on her radar. “For the life of me, I cannot comprehend how this story is so rapidly progressing in a direction I didn’t predict… How can one diagnose another individual after a fleeting interaction? ” Lisa muses.

“Something that baffles me is the notion that anyone is authorized to speculate in a public domain. They are obviously disregarding the ramifications, the ripple effect as loved ones view these statements on somebody’s welfare,” chides Lisa. “Somebody being Kim, who has struggled publicly and endured much criticism as she has battled demons and desperately tried to overcome this insidious disease for the sake of herself and family.”

When Lisa invited Eden to tea, she was “blissfully unaware” of Eden’s previous conversation with Lisa Rinna, and therefore totally unprepared for Eden to label Kyle Richards as an enabler. “…an opinion deduced from what exactly?” asks Lisa. “Well, maybe we will be enlightened as to her findings later.”

“Kyle had mentioned that Eden seemed to be a little invasive, questioning her in regard to an ‘alcoholic gene,’ feeling that there was no basis for her inquisitiveness, as they barely knew each other,” continues Lisa. “I believe I was unaware that LR was present as Eden interrogated her but sat silently.”

“I was curious about Eden and welcomed her to our group. We had an interesting conversation until it turned to Kyle.”

“Loyalty,” declares LVP, “is of paramount importance to me so, yes, I was vociferous in my defense of Kyle, and I speak from a position of strength. My strength is a direct result of witnessing Kyle do her utmost to deal with a complicated sibling relationship, a relationship, albeit extraordinarily convoluted, and often perplexing, but supportive nonetheless, and enabling has never entered this equation, and I remain stalwart in my defense of that notion.”

“I ask you this: Is Eden’s perception and judgement of Kim Richards formed from the brief amount of time at two social situations? Or is it a judgement that has been brewed, construed by an interference from a person who has an axe to grind?”

Lisa admits she “briefly entertained” the idea that Eden “who had lost her sister, struggled with sobriety herself and had obviously copious amounts of experience regarding alcoholism, was seeing something others weren’t, in regard to Kim? I was briefly confused as to how much credence her opinion warranted. I have little experience when it comes to these matters. I wondered if her own path might have given her more insight than I was capable of.”

“I soon dismissed that and rightfully so,” writes Lisa. “You will see.”

Regarding Lipsa’s baggie of pills, LVP also dismissed that. And citing how quickly she caught on to Dorit Kemsley‘s attempt to conceal something behind black curtains, Lisa also quickly caught on to something brewing with regards to Eden and Kim. “I am more astute and perceptive maybe than some, and if there is bullsh–, I can smell it from a distance, regardless of the sugar coating it is covered in.”

“That is why it is my conclusion that a little tiny bird might be fluttering around Miss Sassoon‘s ear, tweeting an opinion that is a result of a grudge that has festered over the last couple of years. We will see, and just as the black curtain was pulled back, we will also see a greater reveal soon.”

On a more positive note, Lisa loved seeing Erika Jayne “fulfilling her dreams” in Mykonos.

My turn: I don’t know what Lipsa’s motives are for discussing Kim, and I don’t believe it’s a long-harbored vendetta. I think she’s just a gossip. Whatever the case I wish it would stop because really, this again? I think Bravo could give Eden and Lipsa something better to do. That said, I refuse to engage in the poor whittle tortured Kim nonsense. That woman has done and said horrible and atrocious things, and while I feel for her battle with sobriety, I am not about to cut her slack and excuse all her past wrongs. Sorry, guys!

Joanna Krupa’s Lawsuit Against Brandi Glanville Gets Even More Ridiculous With Requests For Joanna’s Gynecological Records & A List Of Bravolebrity Witnesses

I cannot believe that this legal battle between Brandi Glanville and Joanna Krupa is still a hot news topic. This whole thing has been dragging on for too long. During a 2013 Watch What Happens Live episode, Brandi said that Joanna had an affair with Yolanda Foster’s ex husband Mohamed Hadid and that he said Joanna’s vagina smelled in a conversation that Lisa Vanderpump was allegedly present for. Obviously that comment didn’t sit well with Joanna and she filed suit against Glanville and it’s been crazy drama ever since.

Now, Joanna has been court ordered to hand over her gynecological records, financial records, and there are a plethora of Bravolebrities continuing to be pulled into the case as witnesses.

According to Daily Mail, Joanna wants “$2 million in punitive damages.”   Joanna justifies the demand by saying she went through “emotional distress” and that it damaged her image to a point where it “hurt her ability to get work in the entertainment industry.”

So why does Joanna have to hand over so many personal records? She and Brandi are currently in the “discover phase” of the lawsuit where they are collecting documents and evidence to support each of their sides. In addition to handing over documents from the gyno, her tax records, and even her Real Housewives of Miami contract, Joanna has to turn in any communication she had with LVP, Mohamed, and WWHL host Andy Cohen.

Lisa and Mohamed adamantly deny that the conversation with Brandi ever took place. And Mohamed, Lisa, Yolanda, and Andy aren’t the only Bravolebrities that are involved in this circus. Joanna was asked to list everyone who had knowledge of the case and this included Kyle Richards and former RHOM stars Alexia Echevarria and Adriana De Moura.  I have no idea what consequences being named on this list will entail, but I’m sure it’s going to be annoying for everyone involved.

Aside from those familiar Bravo faces, Mark Consuelos is on this list since he was also a guest on WWHL during the episode when Brandi made her infamous comments. I wonder who the bartender was that night. Are they involved too? What about the studio audience? At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised.

To make matters worse, Brandi also made fun of Joanna on Howard Stern’s show, so he is involved in this as well.

Erika Girardi Says Eden Sassoon Seems “Determined To Find A Problem With Kim’s Sobriety”

Yet another Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills cast member is weighing in on newcomer Eden Sassoon’s behavior of late, and the same theme continues: Eden, shut thy pie hole! Erika Girardi admonishes Eden for being so invested in questions regarding Kim Richards’ sobriety (questions that were, remember, raised by none other than Kim’s long time nemesis, Lisa Rinna).

In her blog, Erika wonders why Eden is so invested in Kim’s sobriety (or lack thereof) anyway? But first, she gushes about the fab time she and Kyle Richards had in Mykonos. During the trip Erika says she was “thrilled to have Kyle here with me. I’m happy that she and I were able to have dinner by the beach before the show madness began. I enjoy Kyle’s company, and I find her very easy to relate to. She’s both a mother and a business woman, and it’s nice to feel that mutual support.”

Back home on the mean streets of Beverly Hills, Eileen Davidson and Lisa R were hazing taking Dorit Kemsley out for an awkward rollerblading playdate. Erika writes, “Rollerblades are old school—I love that they did that. Dorit’s a good sport because finding balance on those things is not easy. It was very sweet of them to call and wish me well with my show in Mykonos. I’m happy to see them getting along.”

Moving on to Eden, Erika chastises, “Eden has a lot to say about the way Kim Richards is dealing with her sobriety. To call Kyle an ‘enabler’ seems like an unfair judgment considering Eden is just getting to know these sisters and does not know their entire history. We see Kim doing well, and I think we should take her at her word. We see Kyle doing her best to support her sister, and I think we should respect that.”

Wait – so, no harsh words for Rinna? SHE was the one who initially dubbed Kyle an “enabler,” right? What gives!?

Back to reminiscing about Mykonos, Erika recalls, “Now it’s showtime in Mykonos! It’s 3:30 in the morning, there are 30,000 people in the audience, and I’m climbing up the side of a cliff in a onesie and Chanel boots. Now this is a show. Once I get up on that stage, the energy of that audience blew me away. I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t think of a better way to debut my single “XXPENSIVE” than performing by the beach in Mykonos in front of this amazing crowd. What a magical experience.”

But the highlight of the trip may have been Kyle sliding into that Erika Jayne-approved swimsuit for a totally not impromptu photo shoot. “Kyle stripping down to her swimsuit and joining me for a sunrise photo shoot was amazing. That’s why I love this girl – she’s down for anything. That night was the perfect way to end this incredible trip. We have to do this again!”

Back in the States at PK Kemsley’s birthday party, Erika wonders why, again, Eden felt it necessary to comment on Kim’s state of mind. She blogs, “Eden is studying Kim Richards’ every move. She seems so determined to find a problem with Kim’s sobriety. ‘She’s gonna reach for that drink and goodbye’? Why, because she feels anxious over the birth of her grandson? Surely Kim is not the first person to feel anxious over childbirth. It’s nerve wracking for the entire family. Eden says she wants to help, but this approach feels like it’s going to end up hurting more than helping.” Agreed.

Well, at least Boy George saved the day! Although Erika might not remember the exact words to Karma Chameleon, she was jazzed to see Culture Club at PK’s shindig! “I think we were all blown away when the curtains opened up. I’ve always loved Boy George, so this was really cool. Great party, Dorit. Happy Birthday, PK!”

Heather Dubrow Quits The Real Housewives Of Orange County

Ladies and gentlemen, Fancy Pants is leaving the building. Heather Dubrow announced today that she will not return for season 12 of The Real Housewives Of Orange County. This comes right on the heels of news breaking that fellow OC Housewife Meghan Edmonds will also be leaving the show.

Citing reasons that include a desire to spend more time with her family and a wish to pursue other career ventures, Heather says she reached a “tipping point” with RHOC, and the time was right to go. In an official statement, Heather wrote “These past five years have been an incredible journey and I’m so proud to have been a part of such an iconic piece of pop culture … However, at this point in my life, I have decided to go in another direction and do what’s best for my family and career.”

Of her decision to leave RHOC, ET reports that Heather explained on her podcast, Heather Dubrow’s World, “You know, it’s hard to walk away from something, first of all, that’s been successful for five years, and truly has given us so much.”

Heather also reasons that her eldest kids, who are heading into their teenage years, should be able to decide whether they want their lives exposed on reality TV anymore.

It’s not just family matters that contributed to Heather’s decision to leave. The actress, beauty line entrepreneur, author, and radio show host notes, “I have some really cool, interesting opportunities that I want to explore. I don’t know where they’re going to go, but I want the opportunity to explore them.”

Just this fall, Heather hinted at her imminent departure from reality TV, claiming that she wasn’t being offered serious roles in Hollywood due to her stardom on the housewives franchise.

“I think because I’m now so well-known for being ‘me’ that it’s just an odd thing,” said Heather. “And the kinds of things they call me about are to either be myself – which I don’t wanna do – or kind of a ‘stereotypical of my character as it’s perceived on the show’ role.”

Heather and hubby Dr. Terry Dubrow have lived their lives in front of the camera for five years on RHOC, a gig that seemingly opened doors for Terry to land his own platform over at E! with Botched – and all of its subsequent spinoffs. It’s no accident that Terry, along with Botched costar Paul Nassif, are housewife-husband alums. Rumors have circulated widely that Terry was, in fact, initially more excited about Heather’s housewives debut than she was.

After wading through the ups and downs of reality TV stardom – including a nosedive in popularity with fans last season and slogging through Vicki Gunvalson’s endless supply of lies – Heather says, “I felt like I was at a tipping point, and just… it was time.”

Heather wishes the ladies of RHOC all the best though, confessing, “I will miss the girls.”
