The dance was part of Disney Night on the show. Following their performance, Danny and Witney said they would “freak out” if they heard from either Ryan Reynolds or Hugh Jackman.
Days later, as they prepared for their Halloween Night dance, the partners got their wish. And they did, in fact, freak out when Ryan Reynolds posted about their Disney Night performance on social media.
Ryan Reynolds sends some love to Danny Amendola and Witney Carson
“We were at rehearsal when [Danny] reposted the first time … Then I posted it separately on my page,” Wintey told Us Weekly. “And then [Ryan] reposted mine, which was really cool … And then we sent him a video just, like, thanking him for reposting us and giving us credit. It was just really cool. He’s a cool guy.”
According to Danny, the Marvel star responded to their video with one of his own. “[He] just [showed us] love and [said he] appreciate[d] the support,” Danny shared. “Obviously, Deadpool’s a lot of people’s favorite movie, so it was good to get that support from him.”
The pair’s routine, inspired by Deadpool and Wolverine’s opening fight scene in the movie, earned them a score of 27 points. Witney’s choreography was set to ‘NSync’s iconic “Bye Bye Bye,” which was also used in the film.
Danny and Witney continue to do well in the dance competition and so far have avoided being eliminated. Following an Election Night break this week, DWTS will return on Tuesday, November 12, for the show’s 500th episode special.
Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 5. Last week, Jacqueline and Jassi went toe to toe for the role of Mia’s sidekick. Jacqueline made it clear she was number one, but she wasn’t happy about it. Gizelle and Karen have moved on from event-gate and are friends once again. But Karen stirred the pot when she told Stacey the group found her boring. At the end of their first night in Lake Norman, Mia casually dropped the bomb Karen might have been with another dude. Oop. Here’s exactly what went down in RHOP Season 9, Episode 5: “Blast From Everyone’s Past.”
What happened in Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 5?
Karen’s butt dial mystery was cleared up, but Mia dropped another twist in her confessional. Jacqueline and Karen continued their takedown of one another, with The Grand Dame winning the argument yet again. Mia then came for Keiarna for defending Karen. Ashley jumped in and took it one step too far, sending Keiarna off in shock. Wendy’s birthday brunch ended with a bang when Stacey told Karen several members of the group thought she needed to go to rehab. And then we were left with the dreaded “to be continued” once again.
Wendy officially turned the big double 20
We picked up right where we left off. Mia had said Karen butt dialed her and slipped, “Those girls think I’m with Ray.” Karen said she was probably talking with her driver. She had pulled over and asked him to come pick her up. Karen added that she always does that. Mia cut her off with a “not always.” Eesh. Mia said she decided to drop this after three years because Karen had called Jacqueline a liar. Karen swatted away the daggers with ease. She said this still didn’t vindicate Jacqueline, but “good try.” But what Karen didn’t know was that Mia said in her confessional that the butt dial really happened the next morning. The twists keep on coming!
The group had one hour to go until Wendy turned the big 4-0. Mia joked with Ashley and Jacqueline that Karen was calling her blogger brigade to dig stuff up on her. Stacey got a FaceTime from TJ and introduced him to Wendy and Jassi. Wendy joked they were the “virgin couple that met at vacation bible school … like, take me out the group chat.” It was a few minutes to midnight, and the group counted down to Wendy turning 40. It was a cute moment. In her confessional, Wendy felt at peace with this new decade because of all her accomplishments. But will she ever make that 3-Wick candle?
Mia and Gordon’s relationship status: it’s complicated
The next morning, Mia and Jacqueline met by the pool to chat. Jacqueline said she was feeling okay about last night, but Karen was a tough nut to crack. Mia decided she’d had enough of that storyline and moved on to Gordon instead. She explained Gordon had been blowing up her phone bright and early over an Instagram post of her and Inc. Jacqueline wasn’t surprised. In her confessional, she shared that Mia needed to cut the cord with Gordon, and it probably wasn’t a good idea they were living in the same building.
Mia told Jacqueline that she was sticking by Gordon’s side. Not only because he is the father of her children, but because of his mental health. If Gordon wanted her there, she would be there. Jacqueline advised she might want to stop saying she loved him as he clearly wasn’t over her yet. Needless to say, they were in a complicated relationship. Meanwhile, Gizelle got to see her daughters graduate. She was officially an empty nester. Gizelle noted it was bittersweet because it was the “last of the last for me.” We then got a lovely montage of the kids and Gizelle’s dad. Gizelle concluded, “My kids are amazing, ting!”
Keiarna and Mia have a flute-off
There was a fantastic brunch buffet of waffles and fried chicken to celebrate Wendy’s birthday. And then it all went downhill from there. Mia announced their plans for the day were to go meet Dr. McDaddy. I’m sure that’s exactly how Wendy wanted to spend her big day. Gizelle improved the mood though once she called Wendy and said she was on her way. Karen noted that Gizelle and Wendy had come a long way. Wendy agreed; she was all about “moving forward and being open.”
Jacqueline then jumped in and said, “You gotta let things go. When you hold grudges, it’s gonna make you a bitter old bitch.” Record scratch! Jacqueline denied she was alluding to Karen, but the message was loud and clear. Keiarna had enough of how Karen was being treated. She said, “What the hell was that, Mia? Not a three-year throwback.” They then broke the fourth wall and argued who really needed a flute. Mia then asked, “You wanna talk about your drug dealer boyfriend, maybe?” And right on cue, Ashley confirmed the rumor.
Keiarna turned it right back around and asked Mia about her past. Mia then went pretty low and referenced the altercation Keiarna got in last season. She said, “We know you know about the streets, stitches.” Jassi tried to redirect the attention back to Wendy’s birthday. However, Ashley thought it was an appropriate time to ask Keiarna if she still had a scar. Keiarna stormed off, leaving everyone in shock.
Karen brings back the classic insult “dingbat”
It was the brunch that never ends. Keiarna came back and told Ashley she was off-limits from any personal questions. However, Karen couldn’t let the mouse go and went after Jacqueline again. She accused her sometimes partner Patrick of having 25 convictions. Jacqueline said there was an internal investigation, but he had a new job on the police force. In her confessional, Karen said she was “spewing facts” about Jaqueline because she had been an “enemy” to her.
Jacqueline then told Karen she was blowing up what she said out of proportion. Karen told her she had defamed her to the group. She added that she was well respected, to which Jacqueline snapped, “With two DUI’s?” Then Karen went into her old-timey insult arsenal and said, “I don’t have two DUI’s, dingbat!” Much more creative than dropping the F-bomb. Wendy then corralled the troops to cheers to having a good day. A little too late, but here’s to hoping.
The group then split up to gossip about what just happened. Mia showed Ashley and Jacqueline the receipts of Karen’s DUI allegations. As the three tried to figure out the proper wording for “those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones,” Stacey briefly joined them. She asked, “Why does everybody have a hard on for Karen?” The sexual frustration was real. Mia then showed Stacey the receipts and said she thought Karen needed to go to rehab. Stacey ran right back to Karen and spilled the tea. She asked her, “Should I be worried about you?” To be continued …
