Why Fans Are Not Emotionally Ready for the VPR Reunion

VPR

With the series season finale of Vanderpump Rules behind us, viewers have turned their sights to the reunion. The finale showed us a hot mic moment for the ages as production realized they bet on the wrong horse when hoping the Tom Sandoval redemption arc would work. Ariana Madix made her final stance at the Battle of the Whiskey Opening, noting that it wasn’t in her contract that she had to interact with her ex-boyfriend.

But as the dust settles, fans are brushing themselves off and trying to batten down the hatches emotionally as the reunion approaches. Without a doubt, it is going to be a night filled with tears, yelling, and gaslighting. I just hope all this emotional unrest is worth it.

Andy makes bombshell announcement

It turns out Andy Cohen has a few tricks up his sleeves. He revealed that the last ten minutes of the finale were purposefully kept from the cast. This revelation rattles everyone, including Lisa Vanderpump, Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, Ariana, Lala Kent, James Kennedy, and Brock Davies. If the OGs are shaking in their boots, there isn’t any hope for the average viewer.

The reunion trailer is everything. Ariana wants Tom off the show, but Tom still feels like a victim. Fans have been through so much. Can we handle another crazy reunion?

Tom’s last stand

Once again, Tom will double down and get defensive when asked about his affair. I don’t know about you, but I am tired of the storyline. Yes, he decided to cheat for months. But at the end of the day, he didn’t murder anyone. In any normal circumstance, Ariana would walk away forever. I don’t think I am emotionally prepared to watch a grown man cry again.

The reunion will show multiple cast members calling Tom out for his poor interactions with the media. Throughout the entire season, Tom blasted his co-stars by trying to use Ariana’s mental health against her. For the last few months, viewers have watched as Bravo and Sandy tried to lean into the anti-hero vibe. But the mood never stuck. Tom’s lousy acting has been called out more times than I can count. If there was a Razzie to win, it would be Sandy’s time.

But the TomTom co-owner tried his best to land one last con as he told Ariana, “You know me well enough to know that this is not acting.” But Ariana quietly answers, “I don’t.” I have the literal chills! It’s like watching a psychological thriller.

Brock is VPR’s hero

I wasn’t prepared to root for Brock in any way. He never really moved me to cheer for him in the previous seasons. When fans first found out he was late on child support for his first two kids, we all wrote him off. At that point, all he was was a fancy accessory to Scheana. But Season 11 showed Brock and Scheana struggling within their marriage.

The couple has only been married two years, but at times, they seemed unable to stand one another. The reunion is set to have some hard-hitting questions regarding the turbulence. The sneak peek also showed Brock breaking down as he described the importance of his wife and daughter in his life. Brock is left with a puddle around his chair, making me already say, “I’m not crying! You’re crying!”

Final thoughts

Even though I enjoyed watching it, the reunion trailer was weird. It feels like it didn’t show a whole lot, which could be good or bad. But I do think long strands of boring commentary will follow moments of glory. I believe that hearing Jo Wenberg’s side of the bullying will be hard because, like it or not, she tugged at my heartstrings.

Watching Katie rip her apart at the San Francisco gathering wasn’t fun. I will most certainly grab tissues when Jo says her piece. The Vanderpump Rules three-part reunion seems very tense and emotional vs. explosive like the previous season, which is very different. I’m not sure if my little reality TV heart will be able to take it.

Top Five RHONJ Seasons That You Need To Watch (And Those to Avoid)

RHONJ Season 14 cast

I am a proud fan of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Could it be because I am also a Jersey girl? One hundred percent. However, the Bravo franchise also stands heads above some of the network’s other series. The Garden State franchise started as a family unit drenched in feuds and loyalty.

1. Season 1

As Maria von Trapp once sang, “Let’s start at the very beginning.” If you are starting your journey with the Garden State women, you need to watch Season 1. The premiere season got viewers like me hooked immediately. From Episode 1, it was apparent that Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice were shady with money, Carolina Manzo was the mother hen, and Danielle Staub was the hero/villain we needed on reality TV. If you watch no other episode, it is a necessity to eye the season finale with the famed Teresa table flip. It literally put the franchise on the map.

2. Season 5

Season 5 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey was the last time we saw Jacqueline Laurita, Kathy Wakile, and Caroline together on the screen. This was the season that the Gorga/Giudice/Wakile feud was at its darkest, which made for a very stressful but entertaining season. The main crux of this season was the Lake George trip, where Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice went head to head- literally- during a therapy session. We also saw the dramatics of Melissa Gorga as she begged for family peace on her knees.

3. Season 10

As Margaret Josephs noted, “These women would hold a bloody knife to your back and stab you.” Season 10 was the time we saw Teresa waiting on the outcome of Joe’s trial. Thanks to yoga, Danielle returned, claiming she was calm as a cucumber. But the big storyline was Margaret’s ponytail being yanked from her head by Danielle. Marge later learned that it was at the urging of Teresa, her so-called friend. The backstabbing was horrendous, but a season not to miss.

4. Season 7

Jacqueline came back! The original Real Housewives of New Jersey fans were thrilled, but their excitement was shortlived with the introduction of Siggy Flicker. Teresa was released from prison after 11 and a half months. The tearful reunion between her and her four daughters helped establish the OG as the hero of her own story. Season 7 also showed how badly Melissa wanted to step out of the shadow of her husband and follow her passion for fashion.

5. Season 3

If you are just starting your deep dive into the Real Housewives of New Jersey, the last season you should make sure you watch is Season 3. Dino Manzo and Danielle departed, and Melissa and Kathy were brought on for a family dynamic angle. Teresa was not pleased with the controversial decision and thus started her plot to blame her family forever for their issues.

Avoid Season 6

RHONJ Season 6 was a one-hit wonder for the franchise. None of the rookies lasted. And Amber Marchese solidified her spot as one of the most disliked housewives of all time. Honestly, I can’t even recall what really happened that season, and I potentially just blacked out for all 18 episodes.

Avoid Season 9

Personally, Season 9 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey was one of the least enjoyable for me. We met Jennifer Aydin and Jackie Goldschneider. The only silver lining was that Siggy got the boot. The season was considered a fresh start but overall boring. Between Teresa’s bodybuilding competition, which showed her bringing a lunch box everywhere, and the trip to Oklahoma, the season is a big miss for me as it is just a filler.

Catch Season 14 of Real Housewives of New Jersey each Thursday on Bravo.

A Mother’s Day Tribute to Bravo’s Newest Moms

Photo Credit: Rich Polk/Bravo via Getty Images

First off, happy Mother’s Day to all of our readers! You’re all killing it, even if you feel like you aren’t. With this obvious statement made, last year, we celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14. Since this date’s come and gone, five new Bravo babies have been born, all of which are precious.

Wherever you might find yourself today, give yourself grace because you deserve praise and nice things. Speaking of deserving nice things, in 1980, my birth date fell on Mother’s Day. This was (and still is) so great for my mother. As for me, I’ll just be out here getting gypped, receiving one card for both dates combined (it’s fine, I’m fine).

Despite my lie just above, let me now honestly continue, sharing a little more about Bravo’s newest bundles of joy with you all. These seven little angels will be celebrating their mothers for the very first time today. And by celebrating, I mean sleeping and crying, which, same.

Nicole Martin

In 2023, Nicole Martin announced that she was expecting her second child. This Real Housewives of Miami star and her fiancé, Anthony Lopez, welcomed their baby girl Genevieve into their family on March 28, 2024. Genevieve’s birth came as a shock to these two. She arrived via an emergency C-section, a full month before her due date.

Thankfully, Nicole and Genevieve are currently thriving. That is, minus Nicole’s jokes made online, which stress how “fun” her new early morning wake-ups now are. All quips aside, happy Mother’s Day, Martin family.

Paige Chohan

Paige Chohan, the Real Housewives of Cheshire newbie, just gave birth to her first child with her husband Amir. Their sweet little girl Nora arrived on March 30, 2024. “One week of having you..living happily in our baby bubble and never wanting to leave,” Paige gushed online while gazing adorably at her little bundled-up baby. Cheers to your first Mother’s Day, Paige.

Diana Jenkins

Diana Jenkins is no longer on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but when she was, she spoke openly about her pregnancy loss. Luckily, Diana became pregnant again, and on August 8, 2023, her little girl Elodie Mae Book made her way into this world.

Sanya Richards-Ross

When I first scrolled through Sanya Richards-Ross’ images of her tiny little boy, it was like I could feel my ovaries raging, trying to convince me that I wasn’t done. But alas, I am, unlike this Real Housewives of Atlanta alum. Like so many others though, Sanya’s little boy Asani arrived after a traumatic loss, making her thankful for her Rainbow Baby.

On December 19, 2023, Sanya penned “Good things come to those who wait… and boy are you our GOOD THING!!! Asani, we literally couldn’t love you more. Still in newborn baby bliss…” I’m so happy for you, Sanya. Enjoy your first Mother’s Day with Asani, and your sixth with your firstborn.

Stassi Schroeder

Stassi Schroeder’s living her best life following her time spent on Vanderpump Rules. Last year, she gave birth to her second child with Beau Clark, aka the would-be number-one husband on VPR, should this family ever return to filming. Online, Stassi wrote “MESSER RHYS CLARK, born at 12:04 am on September 7th, 7 lbs 14 oz, 19.5 inches. We love him so much already, send prayers Hartford doesn’t terrorize him.”

Here’s hoping that Beau pours you a tall glass of Pinot Grigio today, Stassi, letting you celebrate your first boy-mom Mother’s Day in peace. Which will likely last for 0.2738 seconds.

Nia Booko

Nia and Danny Booko of The Valley now have three children under the age of three. I can’t. Thankfully, Nia’s a stronger woman than me, and she can. “Fathers Day was extra special this year,” she wrote, adding “We welcomed into the world our two little angels at 2:07pm. Isabelle Marie – 5lbs 8oz and Zariah Rose – 5lbs & 6oz.”

Sweet girls. Just like me, you two now share a birth date with a major holiday. But yours works in your favor, because even when it’s your dad’s day, now it’s really not, because it’s yours, and you will win. So, live well and prosper, little Isabelle and Zariah, but try and let your mom have at least one small break for Mother’s Day, okay?

Janet Caperna

There’s something in LA’s waters, as Janet and Jason Caperna also just welcomed a child into their fold. Their son arrived in December of 2023, with Janet simply writing “And then there were three.” Currently, the Caperna family’s keeping mum, so if you want to learn more about their son, you’ll just have to tune in to The Valley to watch Janet’s pregnancy storyline unfold.

Go have a hot dog, Janet. It’s Mother’s Day. You make the rules.

The Most Iconic Items in 90 Day Fiancé

The 90 Day Fiancé franchise is well-known for its many iconic quotes that fans love to reference. However, Twitter user “Anfisa’s Red Bag” recently posted a thread pointing out that there are several iconic items in the franchise as well. The thread asked fellow fans which “artifacts” from the franchise they would put in the 90 Day Fiancé museum if there was one. Here are some of our favorites below. Do you remember these iconic items?

Danielle’s Evidence Binder

Shortly after Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali got married, Mohamed moved out of Danielle’s state of Ohio to move to Miami, saying he did not want to be married to her anymore. Danielle then traveled to Miami to present Mohamed with a binder of “evidence” that Mohamed had not taken their marriage seriously.

The binder allegedly included text conversations that Mohamed had with other women while married to Danielle. When Mohamed didn’t want to look at the binder, Danielle threw it at him, yelling “You’re a user, Mohamed! You used me!” Although this episode aired almost a decade ago, fans still reference the binder in memes and posts, making it one of the franchise’s most iconic items.

Anfisa’s Red Bag With Her Makeup

Anfisa Arkhipchenko was notorious in 90 Day Fiancé Season 4 for being materialistic and downright toxic. One of the most famous Anfisa scenes was when she yelled at her partner  Jorge Nava, seemingly unprompted, to “Bring me my red bag with my makeup!”

Therefore, Anfisa’s red bag has become one of the most famous items in the franchise. Some people have even made red makeup bags with the phrase to sell as unofficial merch.

The Promise Ring Tim “Repurposed”

In 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days Season 3, Tim Malcolm from North Carolina took a trip to Colombia to meet his then-girlfriend Jeniffer Tarazona. Throughout the trip, Tim doesn’t give Jeniffer as much affection as she wants, but when he is about to leave, he shows her his dedication by giving her a promise ring. When Jeniffer asked where Tim got the ring, he revealed that he had bought it years ago, for his ex Veronica Rodriguez. Tim and Veronica didn’t sustain a romantic relationship but remained very close friends after their break-up and co-parented Veronica’s daughter, Chloe.

It was Veronica’s idea that Tim gives the ring to Jeniffer since he had spent money on it and it was not in use. Jeniffer already didn’t love Tim and Veronica’s close relationship (no one does, do they), so the repurposed ring was extra upsetting for her. Spoiler alert, Tim and Jeniffer didn’t work out, but the repurposed ring remains one of the most iconic items in the franchise.

Deavan’s Translator

In 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Utah woman Deavan Clegg and South Korean man Jihoon Lee attempted to make their long-distance relationship work when they discovered they had a baby on the way. However, the distance wasn’t their only worry. Jihoon wasn’t great at managing money and making plans, and neither Deavan nor Jihoon spoke their partner’s language very well.

Luckily, Deavan had a translating device to assist them in their conversations! However, it wasn’t a great translator and often led to miscommunications. For example, in this video, Deavan tells Jihoon that she doesn’t understand why he put money in his mom’s savings account instead of using it to help Deavan shortly after she gave birth to their son, Taeyang.

Into the translator, Jihoon says he put the money in his mom’s account because he was afraid of making more money mistakes. He says he won’t waste money again. However, the translator incorrectly announces that Jihoon instead said “I’ll make another mistake and I’ll waste that money again.” 90-Day Fiancé fans were entertained by the bad translator all through this couple’s segments.

Gino’s Hat

Gino Palazzolo from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in a promo image

Ever since Gino Palazzolo and Jasmine Pineda first hit 90 Day Fiancé viewers’ screens, Gino has refused to take his hat off. Gino’s insistence on wearing his hat became a trope throughout the series. In one argument between Gino and Jasmine, the Panamanian woman hit Gino’s hat off his head.

Much to viewers’ delight, Gino had a backup hat ready in his backpack that he took out right away to cover his head. Reality TV gold! The only other time viewers see Gino’s head is when Gino willingly takes off his hat for a wedding picture when he and Jasmine finally get married.
