Gizelle Bryant has always been a hard nut to crack. She is afforded respect as an OG of the Real Housewives of Potomac. So when Dr. Wendy Osefo strolled onto the scene, half of the green-eyed bandits didn’t know what to do with herself. Wendy and Gizelle’s relationship has been a source of intrigue for quite some time.

The road has been bumpy for Wendy Osefo and Gizelle Bryant

Bravo viewers knew that when Gizelle refused to hug Wendy in the Season 7 premiere, things were going to get bumpy. The two have never been buddy-buddy and Wendy chalks that up to Gizelle not knowing when to keep her mouth shut. During a Watch What Happens Live episode, the professor quipped, “Let’s be very clear: no one talks about relationships except for the fact that Gizelle constantly attacks our husbands. You can’t attack somebody if you lack that thing you’re attacking in the other person. And I was raised by a single mother, so there’s no shaming here.” Wendy was not thrilled that Gizelle brought up the blog rumors that she and Eddie Osefo were having marital issues.

The sixth season showed the two women at one another’s throats. During one episode, Wendy didn’t hold back as she laid into Gizelle for having the audacity to pass judgment on her marriage. It didn’t help that Gizelle also expressed concern for certain changes Wendy had made, including her mommy makeover. Gizelle felt that all these changes were a result of the cheating allegations against Happy Eddie. Needless to say, the two have yet to find a way back to one another’s good graces.

Did Gizelle Bryant extend an olive branch in the premiere?

Hell has frozen over. At least partially. During the Season 9 premiere of the Real Housewives of Potomac, Gizelle extended an invitation to Karen Huger’s “Hattitude” birthday extravaganza. The Grand Dame turned 61, and Gizelle wanted everyone to be in attendance. Wendy arrived in a bright orange dress and seemed willing and ready to have a serious conversation with Gizelle about their lack of friendship. Gizelle told cameras she was all about inner peace these days, especially after losing her father. In a surprising turn, she shared that she just wanted to mend the bridge and move on.

In the sneak peek for Episode 2, Gizelle invites Wendy out for a bite to eat. While at the party, Gizelle notes, “I would like for us to get to a better place. So let’s get together tomorrow so we can try to do that.” The invitation is sincere, and Wendy reciprocates. Gizelle then adds, “But until then, I’m going to give you this bucket hat, which represents where we’ve been.” The lunch starts off a bit uncomfortable, but the pair are trying as Wendy notes her feathers mean, “She’s coming with open arms.”

Wendy Osefo and Gizelle Bryant could make strides

I love that I am watching two queens sitting down to a meal to break bread. Even though Wendy is apprehensive, the two seem to be calm, cool, and collected. Wendy tells the cameras, “As I am inching closer to 40, I am open to see where this conversation goes.” After ordering an array of nibbles, Gizelle tells her frenemy, “I’m not coming to this conversation with any isms. Any nothing. I feel like what you feel I want to listen to. And hopefully, it will be reciprocated.” Already, I love the positive roads these two are trying to walk down. One way that their rocky friendship can evolve is by using better communication tools.

Gizelle is already trying to implement what she’s learned by noting, “When I think about us, I feel like when you’re fine, you’re fine. When you’re angry, I feel like you come at someone condescending, which has always been nothing I like.” Instead of throwing shade, Gizelle is being honest and open about how Wendy can make her feel. Compared to past seasons, this is a very adult way of discussing her problems. The two appear to be on the path to reconciliation. And even though turning a new leaf has raised a few eyebrows, I am personally rooting for them to succeed!

Real Housewives of Potomac is streaming on Peacock.

Sister Wives Season 19: Why Robyn and Kody Brown’s Fight Felt Odd

Nothing pleased fans of Sister Wives more than watching Robyn Brown and Kody Brown bicker on the latest episode of the TLC series. For the most part, the couple always presented a united front when it came to their opinions. Lately, however, Kody has had a hard time pleasing his fourth and favorite wife. Many feel the pair are going through a rough patch and wonder if they will make it to the other side.

What was Kody Brown and Robyn Brown’s fight about?

During the most recent Sister Wives episode, Kody became so upset with Robyn that he left the family home. However, the grand gesture isn’t as dramatic as you would think since he just went for a drive and returned shortly after. During the October 6th episode, tensions ran high, with the patriarch sharing, “Robyn is extremely upset that I’m not reaching out more to my children. I’m not gonna sit here and fight with you. I have a rift in our relationship caused by these people who have created the biggest rift in my life. I’m not doing that. So I just decided I need to take off.” Upon his return, Robyn explained that she wanted him to take more initiative with his older children.

But Robyn couldn’t get a word edge-wise as Kody kept cutting her off. He noted, “I’m not gonna do it with a rejection every single time,” Kody said. “I’m not abandoning my children. They have betrayed me.” Robyn stood her ground as she clapped back, “But they’re kids!” Kody wasn’t having it as he cried, “No, they’re adults. Some people think that parental-child relationships don’t have to be reciprocal, but when they’re adults, yes they do.”

As Sister Wives followers know, the episode was filmed in 2022. After years of unrest between Kody, Robyn, and the rest of the family, the polygamist clan had hit its breaking point. Kody was being held accountable for his extremely strict COVID-19 rules. Many of the family members felt that Robyn implemented the rules to keep Kody for herself, but she has denied that being the motive. Kody is also still very much dealing with the fallout of his three divorces. But Robyn is at her wit’s end as she told Kody, “I’m having a hard time not losing respect for you a little bit.” She revealed that her own biological father was absent for much of her life, and she has never forgiven him.

In her confessional, Robyn added, “If I were him, I would be calling, emailing, texting, maybe showing up, flying out there, you know, whatever.” Kody once again made the entire situation about himself, stating, “So I’ve spent a year here just lamenting the situation. When I get over that, those children who are open to me will get my attention.” The answer didn’t satisfy Robyn who revealed in her confessional, “I don’t want to judge Kody, but at the same time, I don’t think Kody should be accepting it. I think that Kody should be camping out on their doorsteps and saying, ‘Hey, you’re going to talk to me.’”

Kody Brown and Robyn Brown’s fight felt uncomfortable

I don’t know if it was Kody’s constant interrupting or lack of awareness, but the altercation felt weird. For once out of ten years, I found myself siding with Robyn. The woman was talking sense, and Kody was just oblivious to the good advice. Other viewers felt the same as one fan took to X to ask “Do you think Robyn and Kody orchestrated this scene to make the public stop hating Robyn so much?” Like Kody took one for the team?” In theory, the idea is galant, but we all know Kody would throw his own mother under the bus if it meant he didn’t have to take responsibility.

In all reality, the heart-to-heart felt forced. I was surprised at how calm Robyn remained in when she was constantly being cut off from sharing her opinion. The conversation ended with Kody saying, “I don’t try enough. I know that. I’m too hot-headed right now, Robyn. All I’ll do is more damage.” It constantly feels as if Kody loves the struggle and strife that comes from fighting with his large family. But after witnessing this particular disagreement, I think Robyn is growing tired of Kody’s holier-than-thou attitude.
