Peggy Sulahian Explains Her Cancer Diagnosis & Diko Sulahian’s Confrontation With Shannon Beador
Did you know that Peggy Sulahian is Armenian? Just in case you didn’t catch it, she made sure to mention it for the 984,434,153th time during the last Real Housewives of Orange County episode that the fans were subjected to watching. This season has been a total snooze fest and focusing the most recent episode around Peggy’s wedding anniversary party wasn’t helping manners.
SOS! SOS! When are the cast vacation episodes airing? This show is in desperate need of some excitement this season. Instead we had to watch Peggy and Diko Sulahian celebrating a twenty two year wedding anniversary. Good for them, but the only semi-interesting thing that happened during this episode was Diko confronting Shannon Beador about something her husband David Beador said.
Peggy shared her insightful perspective on the episode in her Bravo blog. Before jumping into her own story line, she discussed the disappointment meetup between Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge. The new girl remarked, “It’s sad how a relationship that was so tight has drifted so far apart. But it was important enough to Vicki that she apologized.” Really? Vicki accused Tamra’s husband of using her to open up a gym. How is that an acceptable way to move forward? Peggy theorized, “I guess Tamra is still wounded and doesn’t seem to want to mend fences yet, but seeing as they were so close, it may just be a matter of time.” Right. It’s only a matter of time before they get past lies about infidelity, sexuality, abuse, and cancer.
Aside from her confusion over English idioms, Peggy’s other contribution to this show is a confusing cancer diagnosis. Peggy wrote, “Perhaps we all need to be clearer when we speak. Like when I explained my ailment to each of the ladies…maybe there was a preconceived notion that I was trying to deceive them, so they weren’t listening attentively. Obviously, I’m having the difficulty in the realization of what I’ve gone through, but again, here is a quick recap:”
Mammogram:
– saw a mass
– an MRI confirmed the mass
Biopsy:
– pre-cancer cells found
Surgery one:
– removed a 25mm mass (3mm of which was cancerous), negative BRACA
Surgery two:
– double mastectomy
– checked lymph nodes (found to be cancer free since caught early)
– expanders put in
Surgery three:
– removal of expanders
– replaced with implants
Peggy added, “Hopefully this clears it up for the whole world!” Seriously. Can people just let this go and stop trying to turn it into a story. Come at Peggy for anything else, but just leave her health alone. I’m here to watch Real Housewives of Orange County, not Real Medical Diagnoses of Orange County.
And then there was that awkward confrontation with Diko and Shannon. The thing that struck me the most about the whole situation was the fact that he broke away from his own party to confront Shannon. Wasn’t the spotlight shining brightly enough? He’s really trying to hold up an orange in the opening credits, huh?
I stopped caring about the conversation between Diko and Shannon before it even began, but in such a lackluster season, it had to become a story line. Peggy explained, “Diko may have misinterpreted David’s intentions due to manner in which David came back with questions at him that appeared to be more interrogative rather than concern. This was the first time Diko and David had met, and I feel like maybe their two strong personalities clashed.” It honestly didn’t even seem like a huge deal until Diko saw the opportunity for a story line after the fact when Diko started to give it more thought.
Peggy continued, “In hindsight, after a few more encounters with David, as well as further insight from Doug [McLaughlin] and Michael about David’s personality, Diko reevaluated his initial reaction towards their encounter on the boat. The next time they met, Diko and David were more amicable as they had a better understanding of each other’s personalities. David’s questions were clearly out of confusion, and he was really just looking for clarification on the specifics of my medical condition.” Of course the questions were out of confusion. David doesn’t want to be on this show. He’s not the one looking for camera time. He clearly hates being on this show.
The story wasn’t over though. Peggy wrote, “Subsequently, Diko felt that he owed Shannon an apology and explanation on his perspective and reaction. His intention was to make sure that Shannon understood where he was coming from and avoid ungrounded friction. He felt that Shannon was owed the two sides of the story and wanted to own up to his misinterpretation of David’s personality and intentions, which was the cause of my negative reaction towards David as well. Unfortunately, Shannon felt very defensive about the situation and wasn’t open to hearing Diko, much less accepting the gesture he was putting forward. I’m saddened that his good intentions and his humble gesture went to waste when Shannon saw it as an attack.”

Shannon Beador Calls Vicki Gunvalson Delusional; Thinks Diko & Peggy Sulahian Try To Stir Things Up
Someone convince me that this is not the worst Real Housewives of Orange County season yet. Aside from Shannon Beador gloriously throwing that plate full of food, nothing has happened. Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge met up during the last episode and they didn’t make up. They barely even argued. Basically they just wasted my time. No one even uttered a gif-worthy line.
Then there’s Peggy Sulahian and her husband Diko Sulahian forcing us to celebrate a 22nd wedding anniversary. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that they have been able to make it work for so long and I actually do see the love between them, but who has a party for twenty two years of anything? Twenty years? Makes sense. Twenty five years? Even better. But twenty two? That’s almost as ridiculous a Ramona Singer having a full on vow renewal for her seventeenth wedding anniversary-a couple years before filing for divorce.
This is a major reach for a story line. For all I know these two have an anniversary party every single year, but I’m just theorizing that they threw this one specifically for the reality TV cameras. Nevertheless, I wasn’t entertained and feel like we all wasted our time watching. Sure, that’s on me because I refused to change the channel as an eternal Real Housewives loyalist, but I just want more from this show.
Shannon was contractually obligated to write about discussed the last RHOC episode in her Bravo blog. As Tamra’s BFF, it makes sense that Shannon admitted, “This is a frustrating episode for me to watch. It started with Vicki and Tamra finally having a sit down on their own and then somehow Vicki turned it into the usual pity party where everyone needs to apologize to her. ” Vicki has tried to turn this whole series into a pity party. It hasn’t worked, but if she requests a casserole one more time, I’m going to lose it.
Shannon continued, “And she said outrageous things like ‘Maybe Eddie [Judge] was with you to get a gym???’ Did Vicki think that was going to make everything better between her and Tamra??? The woman never stops. Vicki is delusional, but we’ve seen that for the last couple years. She can dish out complete lies and then expects people to somehow apologize to her for her own outlandish behavior.”
Vicki kept talking about how she just wants to be good with Tamra, yet she accused her husband of using her to open up a business during their peacemaking meetup. That was not the best strategy.
Aside from an anticlimactic meeting with Vicki and Tamra, the viewers were subjected to Diko attempting to earn an orange pulling Shannon aside to talk at his own party.
Shannon said, “You can see how uncomfortable I am because I didn’t understand what was happening. One thing is for certain — if Diko or Peggy had a problem with my husband, they should have spoken to David. David said he thought Diko was a nice guy. I hadn’t discussed any of Peggy’s health issues with David prior to Lydia’s [McLaughlin] boat party (can’t say balls again), so the conversation you see between David, Diko, and Doug [McLaughlin] was completely organic. And if David thought there was some sort of issue with Diko after the boat party, I would have heard about it. I was just dumbfounded that Diko chose to focus on this non-issue when celebrating his 22nd wedding anniversary. Spend time with your wife. Spend time with your guests.” Clearly Diko was thirsting for some camera time – even he knew that their anniversary wasn’t enough to carry the episode.
Shannon wrote, “And then let’s get to Peggy who was so hurt and ‘disgusted’ by David engaging in a confusing conversation. She wasn’t even there. But she was so hurt, is still so hurt. Wow, Peggy. This is big night. Focus on the important things, like celebrating 22 years of marriage.”
The Sulahians were definitely out to get some camera time and generate a story line. They had no other reason to talk to Shannon about a conversation that she didn’t take part in and wasn’t even aware of.
Shannon declared, “I’m pretty much over people continually accusing me, or those close to me, about things that have never happened. But this is just an example of the Sulahians trying to stir things up. And Peggy says she wants all the women present in my conversation with Diko so I don’t twist things around???” The more cast members present for the conversation, the more likely that it will be a part of the episode. Duh. That’s how reality TV works.
Shannon insisted, “I had no idea any of this utter nonsense was an issue. You can see it in my face the entire time. At that point, I just wanted to leave. Yes Peggy, I apologized. Yes Diko, I apologized. Not sure for what because it is not in David’s character whatsoever to be investigative or interrogative when speaking with others. But you all saw the episode last week. David was only engaging in conversation. Plan isn’t working Sulahians.” It really isn’t. They have provided nothing useful to Season 12. Then again, the same sentiment can be applied to the rest of the cast.

Teresa Giudice Regrets That Siggy Flicker And Dolores Catania Were Excluded From Flower Ceremony
Despite her issues with Siggy Flicker lately, Teresa Giudice claims she still has nothing but love, love, love! for the self-proclaimed “most talented person in the world.” The Real Housewives Of New York star also regrets that Siggy and Dolores Catania didn’t take part in the flower ceremony Margaret Josephs arranged for the ladies to pay tribute to lost love ones. Whether they were excluded on purpose or not remains murky, however.
Teresa doesn’t think Siggy’s dramatics over the cake throwing incident were warranted, but she really got her drawers in a twist over Siggy calling Melissa Gorga and her “animals.” She explains, “This episode started out with the aftermath of ‘Cake-Gate.’ I really wasn’t happy watching as Siggy called Melissa and I ‘animals.’ Just like Siggy thought us throwing the cake was in poor taste, I thought what she said about us was also in poor taste.”
When Teresa, Melissa, Margaret, and Danielle Staub headed to the beach for yoga, Teresa claims she “had no idea where Siggy and Dolores were.” Thus, she had no idea that Siggy was waiting around for an apology…at a juice bar.
“After doing yoga, Margaret arranged a beautiful ceremony as a tribute to my mother and everyone else who had lost a loved one,” continues Teresa. “Melissa paid tribute to her father, Danielle paid tribute to her mother, and Margaret paid tribute to her grandmother.”
RELATED: Siggy Flicker Upset That Her Cake Was Treated “Like Discarded Garbage”
When Danielle shared news of their emotional bonding experience with Siggy and Dolores at lunch later that day, the women were naturally hurt that they hadn’t been invited. But hold on! One: Siggy wasn’t replying to texts earlier that morning, and Two: Margaret didn’t tell anyone about the surprise ceremony because, well, it was a SURPRISE. Yes, maybe it was a shady move. But Siggy and Dolores truly could have been there if they’d wanted to be.
Teresa does express regret that they weren’t there, no matter the reason. She reflects, “Looking back, I wish Siggy and Dolores had been there. I still don’t know if Margaret invited them and they declined or if they were excluded altogether. If they were excluded, I think that was wrong, regardless of how I felt about the night before.”
Previews suggest that the epic war between Margaret and Siggy is just heating up, and Teresa confirms this in her blog. She writes, “The tension between Margaret and Siggy is definitely building, and it’s only the second episode. I love Siggy, and I’m just getting to know Margaret, so this is a situation that is difficult for me. You will have to stay tuned to see how it plays out.”

Flipping Out Recap: The Good, The Bad, The Goodbye
It’s the end of an era at Jeff Lewis Design – and for Flipping Out. Last night, we saw Zoila Chavez make the life altering decision to leave Jeff’s employment – forever – and despite her surly ways, I have to admit I shed a wee tear seeing the entire mess play out in living color. Her departure wasn’t good, but it was, in the end, inevitable.
After Gema, Jeff and Gage Edward’s eighth nanny, was fired last week, the household is reeling from a text the ex-nanny sent. She accused Zoila of working against Gage and sabotaging her at every turn regarding how she cared for Monroe. When Jeff questions Zoila about the specifics of Gema’s accusations, though, Zoila rails against the investigation. Since Jeff is too uncomfortable to actually face Zoila’s shadiness head on, he diffuses the situation by holding an impromptu mock trial. Megan Weaver, Jenni Pulos, Gage, and Jeff all laugh while they read the guilty verdicts one after another. Even the housekeeper, Laura, piles on. Although she initially laughs the game off, Zoila’s mirth quickly turns to anger.
“I will fix the problem in this house, Jeffrey,” says Zoila. “I quit.” Jenni and Jeff have heard Zoila threaten to quit at least fifty times over the years, but this time seems different. Maybe it’s the Gema text? Maybe Zoila finally got caught at her own game? Or maybe it’s just time she climbs out of the drama-den once and for all, even if the damn drama is of her own making. In the car afterward, Jeff writes Zoila’s threats off as empty. But he does admit that she probably did manipulate Gema – not to mention countless others. Jenni wonders when this dysfunctional pattern will end? Jeff is sick of it, but he’ll never be disloyal to Zoila. Never.
At the wall covering store, Jeff guides his client, Heather, through endless wallpaper books to choose patterns for different rooms – rooms which are nowhere near done. Then he tells Heather about losing Gema, and about the dramatics that followed. Heather sympathizes, but wonders what the real truth behind Gema’s text might be? Jeff wonders too, but something tells me he’ll never find out. Jenni aptly titles this complicated domestic dispute the Telenovela of Monroe, which kinda does have spinoff potential!
In a meeting later, Jeff and his team meet with clients Liat and Trevor, good friends of Jenni who are looking to build a home in Calabasas – right next door to Khloe Kardashian, in fact. Oh my. We’ll go the No Comment route on that front. The project is huge – a $7 million build, 14,000 square feet, elevator, gym, courts, pool, huge grounds. We get the picture. The architect and Jeff advise Liat and Trevor on the benefits of subterranean parking and man caves, which are essentially rich people problems. But Jeff welcome this sort of #RPP into his life because, hey! He can make a sweet chunk o’ change off of this project too.
At 5:30 the next morning, Jeff and Gage attempt to soothe Monroe in the myriad of fruitless ways every new parent tries. Of course, nothing works. And now there’s no nanny to relieve them, so it looks like they’ll learn this parenting thing the hard way. But trying and failing, then trying again – just like we all do. Come, join us on this nightmarish carnival ride! Everyone’s a little sick, but we’re all hanging on (barely).
Over at Jenni’s house in Encino, the family is getting ready for their new baby girl! Their daughter, Alianna (who is a doll!), is also getting a new big girl bedroom in preparation for her new role as big sister. Jenni gives us a tour of her backyard, which is looking very Jeff Lewis-designed. It’s sleek and clean and modern, and perfect for entertaining. Oh, if only we could all have Jeff on call to design our own backyards! (Again, the invitation stands for you to come over and insult literally everything I own, Jeff! Me, my mixed woods, and my threadbare throw rugs are waiting patiently for your arrival! I will alphabetize the contents of my fridge in advance!)
Press pause on that sweet scene for now, though, because back at Jeff’s house the Telenovela continues… Gema has apparently called Laura to tell her that Zoila’s been talking smack about her too. When Laura relays this info to Jeff, Zoila overhears, but refuses to address it. Jeff is confused – aren’t Zoila and Laura good friends? Maybe not, according to Gema. Wait – what the actual f–k is going on here?!?
Laura’s feelings are hurt, but Zoila just writes it all off as Gema seeking revenge. Maybe, maybe not. It sounds like Zoila is, at the very least, jealous of Laura receiving a designer bag from Jeff recently. Note to Zoila: You’ve received cars and plastic surgery from this man in the past, despite your grouchy behavior. So, maybe tone down the petty purse comments a touch, eh?
When Zoila refuses to apologize, Jeff begs her to reconsider. He knows Laura’s feelings are hurt, and he can’t stomach losing more household staff at this point. But lose more he will! Because now Zoila is REALLY, TRULY ready to leave. Clothes hangers in hand, she blows right past Laura and Jeff – and their protestations – claiming that everyone is just out to make her look bad! She then abruptly tells Jeff that she’s leaving for real this time, depositing her keys on the foyer table before driving off.
“Thank you so much for everything, and if there’s something of yours I have, let me know,” she says through angry tears before walking out the door. Jeff barely registers the gravity of the situation, expecting Zoila to come back to him in the end. She pulled a similar stunt last year, after all (and who knows how many times before). And she absolutely lives for the drama, as we all know. Even Jeff can’t handle this level of theatrics though, especially with Monroe to focus on now.
Laura can’t handle it either, and frankly says she’ll leave if Zoila comes back. Gage and Jeff don’t want to see Laura leave, and they’re rethinking taking Zoila back, should she even want to return. They need loyal, responsible people to help out with the baby, and enough is enough. Essentially, a baby changes everything – especially priorities.
The next day, Jeff, Jenni, and Gage head to Calabasas to look at Liat and Trevor’s lot. Their plan is to construct a 1930’s inspired classic Spanish-Hollywood mansion, but the architect, George, doesn’t quite understand this. He wants to recess the windows only two inches, which doesn’t create the 10-inch recess this style requires.
“It looks dated,” notes George, who obviously doesn’t grasp the concept of making something look dated on purpose. Exasperated, Jeff just wants George to stay in his lane, which is code for: Please shut up. George obliges – for now. Jeff and Gage can hardly wait to work with poor, baffled George for the next year and a half on this multi-million dollar project! Groan.
At lunch with Liat and Trevor later, Jeff reminds her that George doesn’t quite understand the process of building a classic home. Jeff needs to police him and wants his clients’ permission to do so. They agree. Jeff sets up meetings with Liat for the following three weeks to get phase one started. Apparently, it will involve panic rooms and cat towers. Again, #RPP.
Later on, Jeff checks in on Lea Black’s bar installation. He guides her through design options, gently steering her away from Miami sleek and more toward classic wood and marble. Lea finally agrees, as long as it doesn’t get too heavy. She’s suddenly all about compromise, this one. Good for her!
But all is not well on the Calabasas front. Red alert! Red alert! Liat and Trevor have decided not to move forward with Jeff Lewis Design after all. Hmm. Does this have something to do with George, the architect? Yeah, probably. Jeff and Jenni are shocked to hear the news when Gage relays it over the phone. Moreover, why did Liat break the bad news over email rather than a phone call? No one understands what exactly happened here, and Jeff feels like he’s been betrayed. All of the work they’ve put into the project thus far was for naught. Weird. I say we blame Khloe Kardashian!
Jeff and Jenni call Zoila next to see if she’ll come over to talk later. She agrees, but when their conversation actually happens, it doesn’t go the way Jeff expected. Jeff doesn’t think Zoila’s job could be made any easier; he’s basically been keeping her around as a mother figure more than an employee. But Zoila is just done, plain and simple. She doesn’t want to work anymore, even if the work is technically easy. (And let’s face it, working for Jeff in any capacity could never exactly be considered “easy.”)
She’s been feeling stressed and is ready to retire. Jeff wonders why Zoila hasn’t come to talk to him about this before? Zoila claims she has, but he hasn’t exactly wanted to hear it. Ultimately, Jeff accepts Zoila’s retirement wishes. “She stayed for me,” he admits, “But I’ve been holding this woman hostage.” The only reason she stayed for the past six months was because of Monroe, but now she’s got to go – and, ultimately, Jeff has to let her go.
Crying, Zoila says she’s upset to be leaving Monroe (and Jeff), but Jeff swears that she’ll always be in their lives. And I believe him. Despite her messy ways, Zoila is family. And family doesn’t quit.
Goodbye, Zoila! Enjoy your kids and those grandbabies of yours! (And please come back to torture Jeff every once in a while on camera, okay? We’ll be waiting.)
