When this Real Housewives of Potomac season first started, it seemed like Gizelle Bryant vs. Charrisse Jackson-Jordan was going to be the feud in focus, but Charrisse has a new sparring partner and it’s the self-proclaimed Grand Dame of Potomac (who doesn’t even live in Potomac) Karen Huger.
I was more than happy to let the Gizelle and Charrisse drama go, but I started to miss it when Charrisse and Karen started butting heads about hosting a cast vacation. So. Stupid. Are there not better things to argue about? Clearly there was an overload of projection in this situation, but on my end it just made for some pretty annoying television.
Gizelle was more than happy to share her thoughts on Charrisse and Karen’s drama in her Bravo blog. She declared, “This showdown was long overdue, and I think will eternally continue.” Really though? What am I missing? Other than two women who are obsessed with and arguable delusional about their finances projecting their issues onto one another. Why do I have to be tortured by this forever? This is such a boring stretch of a story line, but then again this is Potomac- an often forgotten step child in the Real Housewives franchise.
Gizelle mused, “Similar to the Hatfield and McCoy feud, no one knows how it started, no one knows what it’s really about and NO ONE CARES. The Huger/Jordan feud is the gift that keeps on giving.” Can it just not though? This story line sucks. I know I could have said that in a more eloquent way, but I cannot be bothered. This is just so stupid. The vacation seemed lame anyway. Who would want to take credit for hosting that? Plus, it was obviously an idea from someone in production to go to Bermuda. I doubt that Karen, Charrisse, or anyone else in the cast had much to do with the location selection or itinerary. Let’s be realistic here.
Gizelle made it clear that she will never be the peacemaker in this group since she wrote, “I actually LOVE to see them scratch each others eyes out. It’s like the battle of the hot flashes.”
Aside from this ridiculous vacation host story line, I’m also so done with the ladies talking about who the Grande Dame of Potomac is- as if that’s not some title that Karen just made up. It. Is. Not. Real. Then again, this is Real Housewives of Potomac and I’m over here hoping for the same caliber of drama that I get in Orange County and Atlanta. They fight over serious allegations on those shows. Potomac is just child’s play in comparison.
Annoyingly enough, this Grand Dame thing is a popular topic of conversation. Gizelle explained, “Karen has held the title of Grand Dame for too long for us to take it away and bestow it upon anyone else. So Karen, regardless of whether she actually is or is not, can keep her Grand Dame title.” This is a MADE UP title. Why does anyone care about this? That’s not even a rhetorical question. If anyone wants to explain to me why this is at all important in the Real Housewives universe, I would love to be enlightened. “The OG of the OC,” now that’s a title I can get behind. This? Not so much.
It gets even more annoying though. Gizelle declared, “Champagne Charrisse has earned herself to now be referred to as Your Highness.” Can we just stop with this nonsense? No one cares (at all) about these nominal titles.
Thankfully, Gizelle steered her blog back to the one topic that is piquing my interest this season: Karen’s (beyond) questionable financial situation. Gizelle said what we are all thinking: “Typically nothing Karen says adds up, and that is the beauty of Karen. She is fun to be around and makes you laugh but the relationship is consistently Trump-ish. You know before the conversation starts not to believe a word that comes out of her mouth.”
She concluded by stating the (very) obvious: “To this day I still really don’t understand why Karen ‘downsized’ by moving to a bigger house. Maybe the goal is for her and the Black Bill Gates to play hide and never seek.” Karen’s financial situation is her own business, but after two seasons of constantly bragging about her own wealth on reality TV show, what was she expecting from people?

We’ve only seen a little of the sixteen new Big Brother 19 faces who will grace the halls of the Big Brother house this summer, but I for one am already intrigued by this cast. I think most have noticed it is not necessarily your typical typecast that we see every year, with every stereotype under the sun. We have a variety of players in the Big Brother 19 house.
As we watched Jeff quiz our new Big Brother houseguests, exclusively on CBS: All Access, we started to form our first impressions. Here’s my quick takes on the newest group of Big Brother houseguests:
Ramses Soto
Age: 21
Hometown: Grand Rapids, MI
Current City: Grand Rapids, MI
Occupation: Cosplay artist
He was the first interview of the day and very excited to be in the Big Brother 19 diary room. It was difficult for me to get a great read on how he might play, but he did seem very willing to play to win and just overjoyed to be a houseguest. It was a bright spot to start the day off: the 21 year old seemed optimistic and hopeful about this new experience.
Josh Martinez
Age: 23
Hometown: Miami, FL
Current City: Homestead, FL
Occupation:: Haircare Sales
Someone needs to watch their language! This 23-year old couldn’t stop cursing throughout the course of the interview. It was evident that he was chomping at the bits to get out of sequester and into the Big Brother house. He might be a bit much for his fellow houseguests to handle. If he cannot reign it in for a 5 minute interview, he certainly won’t be able to do so in the BB house. I think he’ll be a character that the others grow tired of quickly.
Cameron Heard
Age: 24
Hometown: North Aurora, IL
Current City: Woodridge, IL
Occupation: Microbiologist
Based on his profile picture alone, I think a lot of people were expecting Cameron to be the Ian Terry or Steve Moses prototype. Even though he considers himself a member of the #NerdHeard, he did seem to be more socially adjusted than some of our past Big Brother nerds. He may still need to be careful, as others might be able to assess that he’s a big fan, if he doesn’t hold back on his knowledge of the show. He has a solid gameplan and could fare pretty well.
Jillian Parker
Age: 24
Current City: Las Vegas, NV
Hometown; Celebration, FL
Occupation: Timeshare sales rep
Our last Vegas houseguest was none other than Rachel Reilly. Will Jillian live up to that? I would say probably not. She seemed somewhat timid and not necessarily willing to go all in to win the game. She mentioned having recently lost 50 pounds and seemed somewhat intimidated by the interview. Hopefully she can relax when she gets into the house, but she might be in for a shock about how surreal this experience can be.
Kevin Schlehuber
Age: 55
Hometown: Boston, MA
Current City: Boston, MA
Occupation: Stay-at-Home dad
The 55 year old stay-at-home father of seven was without question one of the most unique and interesting of this bunch. I’m not sure we’ve ever had such a hilarious interview, with Kevin going on with various stories of his children and his constant non-answers to Jeff’s questions. I think he might have gotten himself into this without knowing too much, but I do think he’ll bring some unintentional laughs for the few weeks he may be able to last. I just think the age difference and him not being willing to play hard will make it difficult for him to last.
Raven Walton
Age: 23
Hometown: DeValls Bluff, Ark
Current City: DeValls Bluff, Ark
Occupation: Dance Teacher
The bubbly dance instructor revealed she’s a huge fan of the show, and that she has a rare disease, which is why she has a stomach pacemaker. She seemed genuinely thrilled to be there and willing to get dirty to play the game. Raven was hesitant to agree to be hated in order to win, but still seemed to have at least some of the gumption to play hard. I think she’ll be underestimated and perhaps will get close with Ramses, since they’re both big fans of the Big Brother.
Matthew Clines
Age: 33
Hometown: Arlington, VA
Current City: Arlington, VA
Occupation: Renovation consultant
Matthew seemed to be very personable and friendly, I think he will have no trouble with the social game. He did not hesitate at all to say that he’d rather lose and be loved, but at least he had the confidence and werewithall to admit it and not flinch. Despite that, I like his chances in this game, he has both physical and social game that I think will help him greatly. The biggest red flag is whether he has what it takes to win.
Dominique Cooper
Age: 30
Hometown: Tuskegee, AL
Current City: Woodbridge, VA
Occupation: Government engineer
This 30-year old nuclear engineer certainly brightens up a room. I came away from her interview really liking her and excited to see how she will play the game. Her personality was enganging and magnetic, I think she will easily rise to the top of the social ladder in the Big Brother 19 house. Hopefully people don’t catch on to how intelligent she is, because it could result in #DominiquetheDominator being cut early. However, I expect she’ll be a favorite both in and out of the Big Brother house.

The tournament continues. You can now officially vote for both your favorite fight and your favorite musical moment of the past year in TV, meaning we're here celebrating a bit of...Even though Karen Huger has a lot of questions to answer for in regard to her shady financial situation, she refused to truly address any of the speculation when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Monique Samuels. Instead of coming clean about some obvious inconsistencies, she just deflected and threw shade at the other Real Housewives of Potomac cast members, of course.
I don’t know why Karen would step into the club house a couple hours after that episode aired. I mean she had to know those questions were coming, but clearly she didn’t care. It’s Karen’s world and we’re all just living in it- or at least that’s how she’s acting.
There’s nothing wrong with downsizing and making a fiscally responsible real estate move, but Karen just seems so shady about everything this new house. After a season of commenting on everyone else’s business and staying out of the fray, it’s finally Karen’s turn to step into the spotlight and the glare is anything but flattering.
Andy Cohen asked “Was your reason about downsizing? The women are cackling about financial issues.” Instead of actually answering the question, Karen deflected, “Of course they are because they have financial issues. People that talk about money have no money.” Is she not watching the same show that I am? Karen is constantly bragging about her “wealth” and she even refers to her husband as the “Black Bill Gates.”
Since Andy was going to get nowhere asking Karen about her own life, he had to change the conversation topics to the other cast members. He said, “Should Robyn [Dixon] leave Juan [Dixon] for good? We spent a lot of time at the reunion talking about this and Juan was there.” I was actually pretty surprised by what Karen had to say. It was actually (almost) kind of nice: “I was blown away by Juan though. For the whole season I thought Robyn was bouncing reality checks. I was like ‘What is wrong with her?’ But at the same time, when Juan came in, it certainly cleared things up for me.” I feel like nothing is ever clear with Robyn and Juan, so I can’t wait to see that reunion.
Andy asked Monique about her first impressions of the ladies and where they stand today. Surprisingly enough, when Monique was asked about Gizelle Bryant she shared, “We’re cordial. We’re good. We’re okay.” When asked about Ashley Darby, Monique said, “Ashley is a mystery. She is a ball of fun, but she’s so messy and she loves to stir the pot. I don’t know if I can trust her, but I love her.” I’m sure that comment didn’t sit too well with Ashley, but I can’t help agreeing. It just seems like Ashley has no qualms to stirring shit up for camera time. This is very helpful for the show, but I can’t imagine that it’s too great for an actual friendship.
Of course those Charrisse firefighter affair rumors were addressed again. This is the non-story that just won’t end. A caller asked, “Were the rumors true about Charrisse having a firefighter boyfriend or was Gizelle just stirring the pot?” Monique immediately answered, “Stirring the pot for sure. That was a rumor that came from Instagram from some random stalker and Gizelle was the only one who actually took the bait and put it out there.” As expected, Karen took the shady route and declared, “I plead the fifth.”
Monique adamantly stated, “My girl ain’t dating no daggone fireman.” And once again, Karen shaded Charrisse by avoiding the question and saying “One thing I will tell you about Monique is she is extremely loyal and I love that about her. Ride or die.” Sure, that’s a compliment to Monique- on the surface- but that’s really just some more shade thrown at Charrisse.
Charrisse was watching the show (obviously) and tweeted, “Karen should worry about her boyfriend and not if I have one!” What? Karen has a boyfriend? Meanwhile, the Black Bill Gates was sitting in the audience and it would have been a great time for the cameraman to zoom in on him for a reaction shot. Definitely a missed opportunity there. Then Karen failed to truly insult Charrisse with this mixed/incomplete metaphor: “She’s like the women running around like a Ford car. You can’t put a bumper sticker on a Ford and call it a Rolls Royce. That’s Charrisse.” Clearly she didn’t watch the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion last year when Teresa’s Giudice’s Ford comment caused some major controversy.
That wasn’t the only odd thing Karen said during the episode though. When she was asked about Robyn calling her a “hypocrite” during last week’s episode. Karen claimed, “Robyn is like Tinker Bell out of control this season so it doesn’t register with me. She needs to get herself together before she comes to me about anything.” For someone who claims to be the “Grand Dame of Potomac,” I figured she would throw better shade. She definitely missed the mark with the insults last night.

Corinne Olympios is offering her congratulations to Bachelor Nation's latest newlyweds. Despite the recent controversy surrounding Bachelor in Paradise, Evan Bass and Carly Waddell...Botched season 4 premiered last night in what promises to be the most intense season yet. While Paul Nassif‘s career is very much settled, the ex-husband of Adrienne Maloof is still looking for love and he’s more than ready to settle down.
This season viewers will see Paul, whom Terry Dubrow describes as “single with a Capital S!” on a quest to find a special lady. One criteria that’s on his list: no more Real Housewives!
“I want to meet the right person,” Paul explains. “Since I’ve been there, done that, I’ve gotten a lot more pickier. So it’s probably a little bit slower for me to find a relationship.” He adds, “I wouldn’t mind having more kids.”

Would Paul be be be open to dating another Housewife since there’s so many single ones out there? “In terms of dating Housewives, you’ve done ‘the drama thing’ before!” Terry teased. “Yeah, I don’t want drama,” Paul agreed.
And after Paul’s super acrimonious divorce, things with Adrienne are finally in a “positive” place. “Adrienne and I, we are doing fantastic. We’re taking care of our kids and doing great.”
“I saw Adrienne at a charity the other day,” interjected Terry, “and she said Paul’s become my best friend.”
“It took a while,” Paul admits to E! News. “It was really difficult in the beginning, but we’re doing fantastic.” Terry joked that the change is a “different Paul,” and they both laughed. Can we get Paul a dating show?! C’mon!

Speaking of Housewives drama, Terry is also done after Heather Dubrow decided not to return to Real Housewives Of Orange County for season 12. “Botched overlapped the Housewives a lot for me the last couple seasons, so I really wasn’t very involved… The Housewives was a great experience. I’ll never forget it, I loved every 1/10th of it…” Paul reminded him, “It got us here! Which was good.”
“We’re very grateful for the Housewives,” agreed Terry, “grateful to Andy [Cohen] and the experience, but it’s nice – you know, we have enough drama in our plastic surgery practices trying to fix these incredibly difficult cases that I think we need to save the drama for that.”

When I first heard that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore got secretly married, one of my initial thoughts was “I hope she’s not married to Matt Jordan.” I hate to be a hater, but I’m sure that I’m not the only one who was thinking that. Now I just want to know who she actually married since she’s keeping that one tightly under wraps, but I guess I still have to wait for that. Aside from that I couldn’t help wondering what Matt thought about the surprise marriage.
I didn’t have to wonder for too long though since Matt did what he always does when it comes to Kenya. He shared his thoughts on Instagram, of course.
True to form, Matt had no qualms about lashing out on social media. In a lengthy Instagram post full of irritating grammar mistakes, Matt wrote, “As if the embarrassment from the show wasn’t enough. The false allegations of domestic violence, the unwarranted restraining order, the loss of business opportunities, money. My personal & professional image. I can deal with that. losing my queen is a low blow I never want to feel again.”
Matt continued with the rant: “Finding out she is married from a stranger online. Realizing it’s to someone she was seeing during your relationship…. this is definitely the season of losses for ya boy. TKO!!” I’m sure that had to sting, but Matt was no angel…
Still, he seems to be pretty devastated, writing “I made alot of mistakes, but I loved & cherished her. I can’t lie the news of this rocked me.” Apparently the news “rocked” him so much that he forgot about punctuation.
He concluded, “I pray her heart is in good hands. Take care of her. She was everything to me. Just requesting to be left alone after this people. The fight for her heart is over. I lost!! #tko” Damn. That’s pretty emotional. It was unnecessary and draws a lot of attention to someone who claims that he wants “to be left alone after this.” Let’s hope he actually means this and stops lashing out at Kenya in public forums. It’s getting old. Well, actually it’s been old news for a while at this point.

Last week on The Real Housewives of Potomac, we left Grand Dame Karen Huger in the middle of an off camera (but not off mic) tirade about vacation planning nemesis Charrisse Jackson-Jordan. Like most tirades, it didn’t make a hell of a lot of sense – something about screwing firemen and New Jersey harlots. Either way, Karen is pretty fired up at Charrisse, even though Robyn Dixon is the one who prompted this by calling Karen a hypocrite for preaching unity on this trip and then excluding half of the women on her sailboat excursion earlier that day. Why anyone would be upset that they missed out on clinging to some netting on the side of a damn plastic boat in the middle of the ocean is beyond me, but I guess it was the principal.
Despite the snub, Charrisse is determined to make her day of hosting a success and has arranged a sunset cruise for all. According to Cha Cha, she “made some calls” and determined that cruises are how the Bermudan elite spend their time so ummm, where are the Bermudan elite you speak of? The boat is filled with random dudes and I can’t tell if they are just some guys production offered a free boat ride to or Cha Cha also placed a call to a local escort agency. One of them immediately eyes up Robyn and like a true gentleman, has Charrisse call her over to him while he stays planted in his seat, shaved legs firmly crossed. No surprise that Robyn isn’t into him.
Pot stirrer Ashley Darby doesn’t need to bother flirting with these lugs when she has that gem of a daddy figure husband at home, so instead she decides to poke the bear – Karen, that is. Ashley wants to know why Karen didn’t include everyone in their little boating excursion earlier and much like the hard efforts of Karen’s hairdresser, this conversation is a big waste of time. Karen is as unapologetic as her hair is frizzy right now and she dismisses Ashley pretty quickly. But Gizelle Bryant isn’t going to let this one go and decides forces Karen and Charrisse to talk. Scratch that, argue. Karen pretends to offer up an apology, saying she is sorry if Charrisse was offended but of course, that isn’t good enough and they end up shouting out insults about each other’s party planning skills, net worth and overall dustiness.
Later that night, Charrisse, Robyn, Gizelle and Ashley are stuffing their faces back in their hotel room and reliving the argument when Charrisse drops the bomb on them: years ago, the Grand Dame herself purchased that home she just sold as a foreclosure! Now this is getting good. Karen has been so busy turning her nose up at open houses and prospective buyers when all this time, she got a deal on a foreclosure house. Now in reality, buying a house that was in foreclosure, especially with the busted real estate bubble of the last decade, isn’t really that big of a deal. But the fact that Karen has gone to great lengths to toot that ugly old house’s horn, well, that’s what makes this piece of gossip so mouth-watering. Throw in some Rent-A-Center furniture and an outdated kitchen and of course everyone is going to question the true nature of Karen and the BBG’s net worth. Is he even worthy of the title BBG? So many questions.
Another outing is planned for the housewives and this time, it’s a cricket match, which Ashley confuses with croquet. And she wonders why her husband doesn’t trust her with running a restaurant. As they sit down to watch the match, they are surrounded by men – tank topped men, shirtless men, gold chained men, men doing shots of what looks like Nyquil. For Gizelle, all this eye candy is making her realize she should probably break up with Kevin when she gets back home. For Robyn, the one who is supposed to try dating as homework from her therapist? Not so much. All it’s doing is making her realize that she wants what’s easy at home. Ugh, Robyn is such a snoozefest this season.
After the cricket match, Karen decides that she’s going to extend her version of an olive branch by giving Charrisse a half-assed sort of apology by saying that they need to be a united front and set a good example for the other women with their friendship. Why the sudden change of heart? Karen explains she misses her friend and is ultra-sensitive because she is going through a lot time in her personal life. Ummm is she talking about moving? Is that “a lot” to go through, especially when you’re lounging in Bermuda and your husband is at home packing up your house and moving you out under a shroud of secrecy? I guess so, if you’re Karen Huger, the Grand Dame of Dustiness.
The rest of the housewives show up to Karen’s room for the last night of vacation pajama party, which is probably the only kind of party that Karen is equipped to plan. Now it’s time to pause and ask what the eff is Ashley wearing? Where on earth does she find her clothes – a time capsule buried by Jane Fonda circa 1985? While the rest of the women are in standard, two piece pajama sets, Ashley claims she doesn’t have pajamas and is clad in a fringed crop top, spandex leggings and socks pulled up to her knees. Gizelle knows this is why Ashley’s husband has dried up pancake penis (her words, not mine, although I wish my descriptors were that funny).
Just as the fun is about to start, Monique FIVE HOUSES Samuels comes in, asking for the ladies to please brighten her evening. She is trying to transfer to utilities from her fourth house to her fifth house and it’s a huge mess! I thought she had an assistant/family member for that? I guess not but then she makes sure to ask all the ladies if they will help her move and Karen sits off to the side, tight lipped as ever, with Gizelle vowing to get to the bottom of Karen’s own move.
Over chicken wings, Ashley asks Monique whatever happened to her rap deal and while I was previously under the impression that she decided to scrap her recording career (what a loss for the rap game, ammirite?) to marry Big Drawers, she gives us a new reason: her record deals fell through when she was solicited to have sex in order to make them happen. Clearly, Monique misses sharing her lyrical talents because the second Ashley suggests she treat them to something again, Miss Mo only puts up the slightest peep of a protest before launching into a rhyme. The rest of the ladies try and add to its pretty brutal. No one quit your day job! Oh right, no one has a day job. Nevermind! And with that, the Bermuda trip has come to an end.
Back in Potomac, Robyn visits her therapist and shares that her homework of trying to date other men failed miserably because she didn’t even try it made her understand that she wants to make things work with Juan. Without telling him her feelings. Or working on her trust issues. So basically, she wants everything to stay frozen in time, like it has been. Even the therapist knows this is a losing battle and doesn’t waste her time offering much more than asking Robyn is she wants to just keep existing or actually start living. Robyn gives her answer by staring off into space.
Ashley comes to Michael’s office to have a meeting about Oz with him and the rest of the staff. Once in his office, he excuses the other staff members so he can speak with Ashley privately before their meeting. He then offers her a seat as he sits behind his desk, like he actually is her boss. Good lord, with these two. Ashley is so riled up all the time about it not being a true partnership and then she practically hands him her time slip for approval of overtime. Michael says he wants to modify her role from owner and manager to just owner because he wants to get back to a good place in their marriage. Ashley agrees and then they allude to having sex on his desk. I would rather eat an emu burger than have to hear that again.
Charrisse is having her Champagne Room Reveal Party (how is this even a thing???) and has dressed up like she’s going to get married at Coachella, complete with a white bejeweled kaftan from the Kyle Richards bridal collection and a beaded headband.
As the ladies gather to partake in this nonsense, questions about Karen’s recent move grow when Gizelle shares that Karen moved out of Potomac and into her new house immediately upon her return from Bermuda. Of course everyone is surprised and confused, especially given that they just spend days with Karen acting like she didn’t even know where she was going to go. But we have to wait to get to the bottom of this because Cha Cha has her dumb champagne room to reveal.
She cuts a banner across the room with some giant gold scissors, like a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new royal ship that’s been commissioned and the room is finally revealed. I mean, OK, it is really nice but did she really need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to make up a room she will be getting drunk in alone? Jeez, now that I said it, is there anything more sad than that? But Cha Cha thinks stepping into this new room is like stepping into a new life so ummm whatever, enjoy your new life surrounded by champagne bottles and white vinyl chairs that Monique thinks are perfect for having sex on.
It’s finally time to confront Karen and her curly bangs. She tries to be proactive and tell the ladies that she has 1) moved to Great Falls 2) is not renting a house but rather “test driving it” to see if she likes it 3) if she doesn’t, she will just build another house that she does like in Potomac. So that is her little spin. Yeah, I’m buying that like I’m buying Cha Cha starting a new life through a damn champagne room. You know who else isn’t buying it? The other women and anyone watching.
Ashley decides to kick off the shade and tells Karen she can no longer call herself the Grand Dame of Potomac. You can see Karen’s curly bangs about to BOING right off her head she is so mad! She calls Ashley an idiot and next week, it looks like feathers are going to fly.
