Fourth and fifth evicted houseguests on BBCan 6 are Veronica Doherty and Hamza Hatoum - Big Brother Canada

The Big Brother Canada household was hit with a double eviction with Veronica Doherty and Hamza Hatoum leaving.

Veronica was first voted out with a vote of nine to one. After chalking up her first Head of Household win, Erica settled on two safe nominations in Merron and Maddie. With a looming double eviction and Maddie weighing on the household, Erica knew she had to make a big game move when she reeled in the POV...[Read more]

Tom Schwartz & Tom Sandoval Discuss Friction In Their Relationship, The Idea Of Jax Taylor As A Father, & Lala Kent’s Man Randall Emmett

Tom

The best relationship on Vanderpump Rules doesn’t involved one of the actual couples. Without a doubt, the best pair on the show is Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval. They have the most loyalty and consistency out of every duo in the cast.

Nevertheless, there has been some tension teased between Tom and Tom at some point this season, but it doesn’t actually stem from something that happened between them. Schwartz and Sandoval discussed that, the idea of Jax Taylor becoming a father, and their thoughts on Lala Kent’s man Randall Emmett.

In an interview for Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast, Sandoval explained, “Well you know, me and Schwartz have been friends for such a long time. We do get along most of the time. Pretty much all the time. We rarely ever argue. We just get along very well. Obviously, he’s married, so if I have an issue with his [wife], if something happened between me and Katie [Maloney], or Ariana [Madix] and Katie, it can always add stress to our friendship.”

Fans of the Tom and Tom bromance don’t have to worry though. Sandoval reassured the viewers, “It wasn’t that crazy. We really worked through shit.”

Schwartz echoed Sandoval’s sentiments with, “The only time we really had friction was when we were arguing about other people’s friendships or relationships. We never fight with each other. It’s always other people’s beef that we end up hurting heads over.”

Since the Tom vs. Tom drama doesn’t seem to be too strenuous, the conversation shifted to Jax and Brittany Cartwright’s relationship. They were asked, “How would you guys have reacted if Brittany was pregnant?” Sandoval didn’t hold back. He admitted, “I would have been really f-cking terrified.”

He even said, “I would have had secondhand terror.”

Perennial nice guy Schwartz theorized, “I think he might have stepped up to the plate and did a good job. I’m a known Jax sympathizer, but I feel like he would have stepped up and handled his business.” Sandoval ended up agreeing and said, “I think he would have too.”

Sandoval continued, “Obviously, Jax would care about his own kid, but he doesn’t care about kids right now. He’s not interested in knowing about pregnancy. I mean, his knowledge would feel like having a kid with a 12 year old. He’s got the mentality of a 12 year old when it comes to babies. That’s the thing that would worry me about it.” He cited Jax’s confusion about how pregnancy tests work as evidence: “He was like ‘A pregnancy test, what do you do? Just jam it in there?’” He had to be kidding right? He just acted dumb for the show, right? There’s no way Jax actually thought that.

For the most part, Tom and Tom get along with everyone in the cast, so it’s only natural that they have a budding bromance with Lala’s boyfriend Randall. Schwartz shared, “We’re not BFF’s. I’ve only hung out with him a few times, but I really do enjoy his company. He’s incredibly charming, driven, and an all around really cool guy.” Sandoval added, “He’s really fun. He’s got the energy.” I know he has a “legitimate” entertainment career and all, but I would just love it if Randall made a cameo appearance on Vanderpump Rules. I cannot help being intrigued.

Exclusive – Survivor James Lim on Ghost Island Curses: ‘I Don’t Believe In That Kind Of Stuff’

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s James Lim:

If reversing curses were so easy, I’m sure there would be less curses in the first place, right? This season on Survivor: Ghost Island, the motto has not necessarily been “Outplay, Outwit, Outlast” and his instead been replaced with the catchy but over-used “reverse the curse.” But just as this current crop of players struggles to get out of the shadows cast by mistakes of Survivors’ past, some “curses” are just unavoidable. For example, every time the game has introduced a tribe swap or tribe shake-up – or every time Probst has uttered the famous phrase “drop your buffs” – someone has gotten their torch snuffed. Every. Single. Time.

This time around, that unfortunate “drop your buff” victim was James Lim, the 24-year-old Business Analyst from Los Angeles, who found himself on the minority alliance on the Malolo Tribe, following the most recent tribe shake-up. And the Malolo Tribe is not a place you want to find yourself in general, having now appeared at five of the season’s six Tribal Councils.

If you missed any of the action, you can catch up with our Episode 6 Recap, as well as checking out the Podcast below.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s James Lim:

James began the game in what appeared to be a good spot, and his first two targets ended up leaving the game – Stephanie Gonzalez and Jacob. He survived the first tribe swap that took him away from the losing Malolo tribe for a few votes, with the one time he did go to Tribal resulting in the ousting of Morgan (in which James also played a hand in voting out).

His game was more of a “kind” and “honorable” one, you could say, but being a good person on Survivor can only take you so far. Whether or not James could have become more of a cutthroat player, we’ll never know, because on Day 17 the game shifted again, and for the first time James found himself in the minority alliance at his new Malolo tribe. His only former tribe member, Michael, was a guy that James had never really bonded with, and while Michael was also in the minority, he had at least had time to bond with Kellyn and Desi during the last week or so in the game which gave him the leg up over James. When Malolo was sent to Tribal yet again, James’s only remaining hope was to see if he could get Angela to flip, but in the end she didn’t. Even Michael went along with voting out James, ending his time in the game as the sixth person voted out of Survivor: Ghost Island.

I had the chance to speak to James today on the FilmSurvivor Podcast (the full audio of which you can find and download at the bottom of this article). But here were some highlights from the interview:

JAMES LIM INTERVIEW

On what he had called a blindside last night:

James Lim: So it was a blindside in the sense that, well, I knew I was one of the big targets going in. I mean, I was on the minority alliance, whatever way you cut it, it was the worst spot possible for me. But I thought I had flipped Angela pretty successfully so I was expecting to see a 3-2 vote for Desiree. So that’s really where the reaction came from. I guess if I had to pick one person [to blame], I guess it would have been Kellyn. She was the one that was on the other end of Angela against me playing this tug-of-war game…so in that sense my game-plan and Kellyn’s game-plan went head-to-head.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s James Lim:

On one of his Survivor inspirations, former winner Yul Kwon, and his hope to be a positive TV portrayal for Asian-Americans:

James: I think it means a lot of me, as the sole person representing Asian-Americans [this season]. I’ve stuck with this my whole life, but it’s not really a burden to me, to be honest. I just wanted to go out there and show my best self, and i have full faith that if I do that, it will be a wholesome chance to represent all Asian-Americans out there…I hope to show Asian-Americans, and all Americans, that we can achieve the American Dream, and that hopefully my story – the concept of the American Dream – is far from dead and we are the land of opportunity, and I really meant that. And looking back I hope I was able to partially achieve that goal, of bringing a positive representation. Setting that all aside, I don’t think that this was something that was conscious on my mind [while in the game], it was more a natural thing that I’ve always done.

Kenya Moore On Her Husband Marc Daly’s First Appearance On Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Kenya Moore

Kenya Moore

After a whole season of intrigue and speculation about his existence, Kenya Moore’s new husband Marc Daly finally made his Real Housewives of Atlanta debut during the last episode.

He showed up to support his lady during the screening for her domestic violence PSA and of course he was greeted (and sized up) by the rest of the cast members. For the most part, we learned nothing about him, but it was great to see the other women speechless when they realized that he actually does exist.

Kenya discussed the last episode in a post for her Bravo blog. Before dishing on Marc’s debut, she discussed the PSA. She wrote, “When I wrote the PSA, my only goal was to help the survivors and their families. I knew that we were creating something special, but I never thought that my dream would materialize in such an impactful and visually jarring way. Derek Blanks and crew did an outstanding job, all my actors were amazing, and our production was truly blessed.”

Kenya made sure that she didn’t take all of the credit for the project since all of the full-time cast members (and Cynthia Bailey’s mom) all came together to film. She wrote, “However, what I appreciated the most was the many lives that we touched and therefore changed. I say ‘WE’ because this was the only event of the season where ALL of the ladies happily and willingly came to support. We are more powerful standing in unity than in division.”

And then she got to Marc’s appearance. She continued the eye-roll-inducing “Baby” pet name: “I was so thrilled to see BABY!” After that, Kenya said, “The one thing I know for certain is that my husband puts his family first. When my grandmother passed, he was standing by my side. When I’m working on Kenya Moore Hair Care or any of my other businesses, he gives me invaluable business advice.” I love how she plugged her hair care line in the middle of that rant about her husband’s great attributes.

She continued, “And when I dream, he encourages me to dream even bigger. He loved the PSA, and I knew deep down that Marc would not have missed being there to show his support.” And he may have secured Kenya’s peach for next season thanks to that cameo appearance.

Even though that was Marc’s first on-camera moment for the show, Kenya did reveal, “Marc met a few of the ladies prior to that evening, but he really enjoyed meeting all of them at the event.” She added, “He thought that they were all nice and never sensed any shade.” Then apparently he didn’t talk to Sheree Whitfield for too long – or watch her on-camera interview commentary about his nose ring.

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

As Michael perfectly summarized this week on Survivor: Ghost Island, this season was supposed to be about “Reversing curses, not creating new ones.” Well, “Hold my beer,” says the Malolo Tribe. Now six Tribal Councils deep into Season 36, the Malolo Tribe – whose members have been shuffled up over the weeks – has now gone to five of them. That’s not going to bode well for those that have to continue to endure voting someone out, because as good as you might think you are strategically or physically, you’re not going to last too long if you keep setting dates with Jeff Probst every three days.

But before we dive in, as I do at the beginning of every Recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 6 of Survivor: Ghost Island, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

CLICK THE CONTINUE READING BUTTON FOR MORE, AND THIS IS YOUR LAST *SPOILER* WARNING!

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

Ah, it’s always music to my ears to hear Jeff Probst utter those magical Survivor words, “drop your buffs.” You can see the pure pleasure that he experiences every time he gets to say his second-best Survivor catch phrase (I’m putting “The Tribe Has Spoken” as his number one). It’s hard to believe (for me at least), but we are already nearing the half-way point of this season, so I think it’s safe to say that other than being one of the coolest sounding season titles, “Ghost Island” the theme is a huge bust. We didn’t even get to go to Ghost Island this week, so the entire first half of the season has only yielded the “Legacy Advantage,” an advantage that I have notoriously called one of the lamest in the show’s history (I stand by that) and one that was unleashed during the show’s very first hour. Six episodes later, and Ghost Island is dangerously close to being thrown in the bad-idea bin where the Medallion of Power has quietly been sitting for several years.

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

But if we aren’t getting actual, physical results from Ghost Island, the theme has at least penetrated the game in…um…spirit. The players are all being made aware of the past mistakes made by players like James Clement and Erik Reichenbach, but as Michael stated, “reversing the curse” isn’t as easy it may sound, especially when this group is hard at work trying to establish new curses.  Five out of six Tribal Councils for those wearing the orange buffs? Yikes. And did you see that massive lead they blew during this week’s blindfolded Immunity Challenge? If Malolo didn’t have bad luck, they’d have no luck at all.

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

It’s a small miracle then, to think that Michael is still in the game as we near the merge. He’s been sitting at all five Tribals, the young, triple-threat who is physical, strategic and social, not to mention charismatic and yes, dangerous. Why the majority would target the likes of James instead of Michael is beyond me, especially if you consider that Kellyn should know darn well at this point how much of a threat Michael may be. I say “Kellyn” and not “Kellyn and Desi” because it appears that Kellyn is definitely leading things, while Desi seems to be more of a follower at this point. Angela seems to be one of those players destined to go far in the game with no chance of actually winning, because other than Chris, everyone else seems to treat her purely as a number, without any real personal connection to her. Did Angela make the right call in not turning on her alliance to try to vote out Desi? I think so, because at this point Angela needs to hold on to whatever semblance of an alliance that she can, and alienating herself from her original tribe would only seal her fate even more.

I’m burying the lead here, but the big twist of the evening was that we went from two tribes to three…and as bad luck (or the curse?) would have it, the original Malolo was split up in a way where they occupied the minority 2-3 alliance in all three new tribes. In that respect, voting out James – an original Malolo – was yet another predictable torch-snuffing, although again I’m not exactly sure why Kellyn would target James over Michael.

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

Elsewhere, we had the seeds planted for what could be some future battles that we’ll see in the coming weeks.  Dom and Chris – who have been at each other’s throats since Day One – got split up which was a huge relief for Dom. But it didn’t take him long to set his sights on a new target: Libby, who he does not trust one bit. What that really means is that Donathan appears likely to make the merge, and once he does, is there anyone who is going to consider him to be a threat for several, several weeks?  Over at the newly created Green Tribe, I’m loving me some Wendell. The dude is calm, cool and collected but also relieved to be distanced a bit from the whole Alpha-male clash between Chris and Dom. His new tribe appears to be the most interesting of the new mix, because even though he’s in the majority along with Chris and Sebastian, you have a lot of other dynamics going on that make me think their next vote may not be as easy as voting along tribe lines. You have the “flirty” relationship between Sebastian and Jenna that we saw a few episodes back, plus the previously unknown bond between Sebastian and Wendell. You then have the idea that Chris continues to rub people the wrong way. Yes if we as an audience has any luck at all, we’ll see the Green Tribe at Tribal Council next week before the possible merge shifts the dynamics once again…time will tell if this season can “reverse” course or if we’ll be cursed with more predictable Tribal Councils in the coming weeks.

Survivor: Ghost Island Episode 6 Recap: Creating New Curses

Episode Take-Away: I like that the game presented a new twist with the latest tribe shake-up, as it was definitely coming at a much-needed point. The bad news is that the way the new tribes were split – all of them giving a majority to original Naviti members – was about the worst luck the show could have gotten, as it points to some more predictability in the near-future, which is ultimately what we got tonight. And don’t get me going again on the Ghost Island twist. I also liked the exchange at Tribal Council with the discussion about using one’s Head vs. Heart vs. Guts.

Hope is on the horizon though, as we have to be getting closer to the merge…and the way it may line-up, the merge episode could also be first of two weeks where that “Legacy Advantage” could be played. Let’s sure hope so. But the fact that I’m just a few sentences into the “Take-Away” and I’m already discussing upcoming episodes tells me that this episode itself was just another ho-hum chapter in what is quickly deteriorating into another ho-hum season.

Strategic Move of the Week: None this week.

Voted out this week: James Lim

Won Immunity: Any tribe not named Malolo

Vote: No hidden Idols or advantages played. 4 – James (Michael, Kellyn, Angela, Desi), 1 – Desi (James)

Next Week’s Episode: More drama to come as cracks appear between Bradley and Dom, while the Malolo hopes to – yes (sigh) – “reverse the curse” by burning their tribe flag. But in any case, it looks like we have not yet reached the merge. I’m sure they’re going to want to show the three tribe dynamic for at least one more episode.

Quick Note! Remember to return right here to Reality Tea for my FilmSurvivor Podcast on Thursday, where you can listen to my full exit interview with James Lim. I also encourage you to check out my weekly movie reviews (like “Ready Player One” this week) as I am also the national film critic for AXS.com and am a movie critic/TV personality in the Detroit area. As always, the easiest way to get all of my Survivor coverage and movie reviews is to follow me on Twitter – @tomsantilli – or on Facebook.

Logan Noh & James Kennedy Are Not Talking; Logan Denies Being “Thirsty For Camera Time” On Vanderpump Rules

James Kennedy & Logan

James Kennedy & Logan

At the beginning of Vanderpump Rules Season 6, James Kennedy’s close friendship with Logan Noh was a hot topic of conversation. Logan admitted to having a crush on James and the two of them had a very affectionate rapport, so it was only a matter of time before the romance rumors started up.

And those rumors actually got started thanks to Logan himself, who drunkenly told Brittany Cartwright’s sister that he and James had been”f-cking.” James was devastated that his best friend resorted to lying to secure a story line about the state of their relationship.

Logan discussed his time on the show during an interview for the Reality Life With Kate Casey podcast. He shared, “Before we got in our little fight, like we filmed a lot more. They filmed a photo shoot I did of him and a bunch of other stuff. They didn’t show any of that.”

He even said, “To me, it’s just annoying. I feel like they only showed the really gay stuff and didn’t show us actually being friends. It makes me look like I was just thirsty for camera time, you know? Which is completely the opposite of mine and his friendship.”

The status of that friendship is a little bit confusing these days. Logan stated, “We’re not friends right now. We are, but we’re not talking. I don’t know. There’s a lot going on.” Apparently.

Logan shared, “What happened was right when they did that phone call, I left the show for like three weeks. I refused to film anything. It got way too intense for me and him. I was like ‘Screw this. I don’t want to do the show. I don’t want to be a part of this. I’m not gonna ruin our friendship for a stupid reality show.’ So I just left. James and I got in our fight and stuff, everything off-camera.”

He continued, “Eventually we became friends again toward the end of the … probably like next week’s [episode]. I don’t know when it’s going to start airing again. I come back and me and him are friends again and we work through everything, but now that the episodes aired, he’s all in his feelings about everything. There’s been a lot of tension between the two of us recently and we’re on a little bit of a break.”

Is it a friendship break or a friendship break up? I have to assume James will address this during the reunion episodes – if we don’t find out from a social media rant before that.

Survivors get their bathing suits and shuffled again

At the sixth Survivor Ghost Island Tribal Council, Jeff Probst said two things about this season's tribes. First, he called Malolo one of Survivor's worst tribes ever, as if it's actually a tribe with an identity and a history instead of just a parking spot for three completely different groups of people. Later, in one of his questions-as-lectures, he said "it's just a buff" and that players don't "bleed" tribe colors. He appeared to be trying to... keep reading this story »

What Does Jax Taylor Think Of Lala Kent’s Man Randall Emmett?

Jax Taylor grovels to Sherri

Jax Taylor grovels to Sherri

Even though Lala Kent insists that her man Randall Emmett would never appear on Vanderpump Rules, he has been spending a lot of time with her costars. He’s brought them to Vegas, in that infamous private jet, of course. They’ve played poker together. It seems like he is becoming an integral part of the crew.

And now he met the self-proclaimed “number one guy in this group” Jax Taylor. So what does Jax think?

Jax had nothing but praise for Randall in this tweet: “Finally got to meet @lala_kent man on Saturday at his birthday party and I have to say the guy was so kind and went out of his way for everyone that night. Very refreshing in this town.” This makes me want to see him on the show even more than I already hoped for.

Lala shared a photo with Jax, Randall, other Vanderpump Rules cast members, and iconic rapper Warren G celebrating her man’s birthday, adding, “I had to post this. My cast members who I’m lucky enough to call friends, at my mans birthday, with Warren G. Doesn’t get any better.” The only way it could be better if it was filmed for the show.

Lala also responded to Jax’s complimentary tweet: “So happy you came out with baby girl @BNCartwright .”

Wow. It really is possible for everyone in this cast to get along. No matter what happens between them or how much shade is thrown, the Vanderpump Rules stars are always able to band together as a group – for the most part anyway. No one would have ever predicted that they would all be at Lala‘s boyfriend’s birthday party at this time last year, yet that just happened. This show and the constantly changing dynamics within the cast never fail to entertain me.
