As much it (typically) annoys me when a Housewives story line gets dragged out for more than one season, but there is one exception: I don’t blame Kandi Burruss for wanting nothing to do with Porsha Williams after Porsha spent a whole year spreading lies about Kandi wanting to drug and rape her. That really goes beyond a Real Housewives of Atlanta story line.
In all honesty, I feel like Kandi oscillating between shading Porsha and treating her coldly is a lot more than she deserves. Obviously Porsha and Kandi are coworkers and their job as reality stars does have a lot of overlap with their social lives, so this is a tough situation for Kandi to navigate. I can understand why the viewers are annoyed that this “story line” is still going on, but what Porsha did goes beyond tugging on a wig, waving a fan at a reunion, or making fun of a doormat. This is a serious offense and she should just be grateful that Kandi didn’t take legal action against her.
For anyone who is over this story line, I’m sorry to tell you that Porsha was a hot topic of conversation during Kandi’s Watch What Happens Live appearance last night. Andy Cohen asked her, “What is your reaction to seeing that scene with Porsha and NeNe [Leakes]? You just laughed out loud when you watched it.”
Clearly Kandi wasn’t buy Porsha’s tears since she told Andy, “A lot of the times, I feel like she’s good at playing the victim, but this is a situation she brought on her self. She admitted when she was on the show with you that she didn’t really think I would do something like what she put out there to the world, so why would you say it in front of a TV camera? Now you can’t be mad that other people are looking at you crazy, you know?” As redundant as it is to hear about the same story line over and over again, I can’t help agreeing with Kandi.
Kandi continued, “Overall, I just kind of felt like we were all having fun. They were all taking digs at the table, and then all of a sudden she started crying about the doormat. So I was like ‘Wait. Why is she crying about a doormat?’ So, I sort of understood what Marlo [Hampton] was saying when Marlo was like ‘I know you ain’t crying about a doormat’ and then it just went left. I do think that it just went out of control, but you know how we are. If we’re in close proximity and she started fanning that fan in Marlo’s face, of course Marlo is gonna snatch it out her hand, which took it to the next level.” That fight was so unnecessary. It wasn’t entertaining and it was just completely pointless. I would rather watch NeNe and Kim Zolciak shade each other back and forth.
Speaking of which, Kandi was asked, “Whose side are you on: Kim or NeNe?” She responded with, “I just feel like both of them have a lot of craziness going on right now, but I do not, and I told Kim, I say it in a future episode: that was not cool to bring out a video that you’ve been saving to try and throw some negativity on somebody.” It really wasn’t, but it definitely elevated this season to a whole other level. I just know that reunion confrontation with Kim and NeNe is going to be epic.
Later in the episode Andy referenced a future scene with Kandi and Kim, telling her, “I’m looking forward to seeing the two of you sit down this season.” Kandi hinted, “It started out not so great, but we were able to pull it together.”
A caller asked Kandi, “What was your reaction to seeing Mama Joyce’s sit down with Porsha and did that change any of your feelings toward her?” After a long, “Ummm,” Kandi admitted, “I was really more bothered about what my mom was saying about Todd [Tucker] when she was sitting with Porsha than the overall sit down with Porsha.”
Andy reminded Kandi, “She said you made lemonade out of lemons” when referring to her husband Todd. Kandi shared, “It really was offensive. Todd’s feelings were hurt by it. As far as her sitting with Porsha, I was like why would you do that behind my back? And you’re supposed to side with me.”
Andy also revealed that Kandi has a second Old Lady Gang restaurant in the works. Kandi confirmed that they are at the “beginning stages.” She also pointed out, “We are on the one year anniversary of Old Lady Gang March 17.”

Yes Brendan. There seems to always be at least one Brendan “type” on each season, a loyal, honest stand-up guy cut from the mold of Colby Donaldson or Tom Westerman. They just can’t help but lead, as it’s just a part of who they are. Brendan’s short time in the game showed him giving some inspirational “pep talks” to his tribe mates, and being thought of as the “leader,” which we all know is not the role that you want to be perceived to have on Survivor.
After the tribe swap, Brendan found himself on the minority of the new Orange tribe, along with his closest ally Michael, Stephanie and Jenna. With the majority alliance looking quite unbreakable, it appeared that the minority’s only hope was on the hidden Immunity Idol that Michael had found…one of the two actual Idols from Survivor: China that James Clement famously never used and was voted out with. We see this scenario quite often on Survivor, the game of “Survivor Roulette”: On which person should the Idol be played? Even after Michael’s quite brilliant lie at Tribal Council – where he announced that his Idol could protect not just one person, but two people – his gut told him to play it on Stephanie, so that’s what he did. Sadly for Brendan though, the majority five alliance put votes on him and not Stephanie, because they figured no one would ever suspect they’d target likable Brendan. They were right.
I had the chance to speak to Brendan today on the FilmSurvivor Podcast (the full audio of which you can find and download at the bottom of this article). But here were some highlights from the interview:
BRENDAN INTERVIEW
On that crazy Tribal Council last night:
Brendan Shapiro: It was kind of like, you see the train coming down the track and it’s far away, yet you can’t get off the track. It’s that kind of feeling. I kind of saw it coming and it ran me over unfortunately.
On Michael’s Tribal Council lie:
Brendan: Full credit to Michael on that one. We had kind of discussed how to approach Tribal Council together, but when it comes to that specific piece, that the Idol would cover two people…look, it made a lot of sense, I would have believed it. That was 100% him, he came up with that on his own. He’s a really savvy player and it’s starting to come through on the edit, I just think he’s a triple-threat, I really do.
On his age, at 41, being the oldest male in the game this season:
Brendan: I was shocked when I saw how young everyone was. And you might have to ask them this, but I kind of felt like I was able to integrate pretty well. But I’d say that’s sort of equal credit to both me and the other players out there…it wasn’t just me integrating myself, it was everybody out there looking to bring everybody else into the fold. It was a good group, they made it easy on me. I mean look, I was the old man out there, and I knew it. But I was never made to feel like the odd-one-out.

Aside from that one argument with NeNe Leakes, Claudia Jordan’s time on Real Housewives of Atlanta is easy to forget. After all, she was only on the show for one season. Even so, she says that she was asked to come back for more, but she still didn’t get that offer to hold a peach in the opening credits, i.e. a full-time spot as a Real Housewife.
Claudia explained why she left the show after she was offered the opportunity to be a “Friend of the Housewives” and threw some shade at her former costars.
Claudia appeared on an episode of the Brandi Glanville Unfiltered podcast to discuss her time as an Atlanta Housewife and to talk shit about dish on other reality TV hot topics. Claudia told Brandi Glanville, “They asked me to come back as a “Friend.” That’s the one misconception I hate. People think, ‘Oh you got fired.’ No, I didn’t.”
Claudia admitted, “They asked me to come back as a friend, which was a downgrade after I fought and earned the peach. Now you want me to come back with a pay cut. I do it for the money. I’m there for the money.” She explained, “When you’re downgraded to a friend, they don’t follow your personal story. You just kind of have to be a Housewives plus one. So I was at a crossroads.”
Claudia even claimed, “Kandi [Burruss], Cynthia [Bailey], and Kenya [Moore] were pleading with me ‘Please come back. It will do a lot more for you second season.’ I was just like, ‘I don’t know.’ I wanted to take on acting and a talk show has always been my thing.” Brandi chimed in with, “That’s what I want to do.” She also said, “I like to be around the drama. I don’t want to be a part of it, but I like to talk to people who are in it.” I would be down for a Brandi talk show.
Claudia cast some shade when she said, “I learned when I was on Atlanta Housewives that a lot of people quote the Bible who may not be living that life.” She added, “I feel like people who try so hard to shove that down your throat, beware.” Who can this be about? The only Bible-quoting cast member who comes to mind is disgraced Housewife Phaedra Parks.
Then talk shifted to Brandi’s time on Celebrity Big Brother with Omarosa. Claudia appeared on Celebrity Apprentice with Omarosa and the two former Housewives share a distaste for the former White House staffer. Brandi shared, “I have every single person’s phone number from that show except for hers. I do not need to be talking to her.” Claudia told her, “You’re going to heaven for that.”
Claudia said, “Well, now that I know she wouldn’t be on [Celebrity Big Brother], I would because she’s just the one person I don’t want to do a show with, unless it’s like celebrity death match.” She discussed their time on Celebrity Apprentice, saying, “We were on the same season and we were cool at the time. So we said, let’s make a pact to not throw each other under the bus. OK, like I’m really going to make a deal with you and she just, you know…” Brandi chimed in with, “She came for you.”
Claudia claimed that Omarosa “was talking about using charity money from her newly deceased boyfriend for challenges and I just thought that was unethical. It just didn’t sit right with me. She said it while she was mic’ed.”
Brandi is all too familiar with Omarosa’s off-putting comments after spending a month with her on Celebrity Big Brother. Brandi said, “She said some things in there and I was like ‘You’re gonna get sued coming out of this place.'” Claudia told her, “The devil doesn’t care.”
Claudia declared, “She needs to watch her back because she’s been running her little mouth.”
Brandi revealed, “So we had a meetup the day after [Celebrity Big Brother] at Marissa’s house. We had like everyone from the show over. She had secret service with her. People are out to get her. She had security guards and it was scary.” Claudia said, “She needs a bitch slap.”

That last episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had me feeling vicariously overwhelmed for Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave. Yes, she did manage to stir the pot by telling Lisa Rinna about some unflattering comments Dorit Kemsley made three months ago, but it really didn’t seem like pot stirring was her intention.
It came across like Teddi felt genuinely guilty keeping this to herself, it was killing her not to get it off her chest, and then she realized that all of those shit talking scenes were filmed and she would have to answer for them eventually. And then her tension with Dorit morphed into a tongue lashing from Erika Girardi. Teddi insinuated that Erika was lying when she told her she has “pretend amnesia.” I don’t blame Erika for being offended, but she channeled that Hong Kong freakout and came for Teddi- way too hard.
Watching the show, Teddi seems like a guppy in a sea of sharks, but she really bit back at her enemies in a Bravo blog post. She admitted, “Well, I lived that, and it was rougher to watch.”
And then she got into the back story, reminding us all of Dorit’s constant shit talking about Rinna earlier this season. She wrote, “Yes, I told Lisa Rinna something that Dorit had said three months prior at the time. In that moment, Rinna was talking about how great things had been with Dorit (since Vegas), and all I could think of was how many ‘warnings’ I had been given and about her personality disorders (schizophrenia and ‘rage and regret’). So I told Rinna, because I have a genuine connection with her and would have felt fake and inauthentic if I hadn’t. And if the roles were reversed, I would want the same. That said, I do regret it—it was selfish on my part; partly because I did it so I didn’t feel badly carrying it around. But the fact remains, this is a pattern with Dorit and bothers me.” Dorit’s pattern of behavior bothers everyone- on and off the show- but she is truly carrying this season on her back. If Dorit wasn’t offending people, twisting words, and carrying bones, there would be nothing to discuss this whole season.

Teddi shaded her enemies: “Speaking of accountability, Erika and Dorit make more cute comments about it/my job again this episode. Thing is, they couldn’t be my clients, because I only accept women who are able and willing to look at themselves truthfully. I assume the issue with this/me is that I’m holding up a mirror to the truth and it irritates them.” So obviously Teddi is not on great terms with the two of them these days.
Teddi joked, “So we’re at drinks, and of course it comes up, and I wish Kyle [Richards] would have gotten me a Hamilton ticket.” Kyle really lucked out skipping that dinner to enjoy the play with her daughter instead.
Then Teddi got back into the drama: “Suddenly I’m at fault for all of the shitty things Dorit said and it’s back to her comments on [Lisa] Vanderpump and how none of the other ladies thought it was bad (except Camille [Grammer], who I’m grateful admits as much). Erika thinks this is a perfect time to ask me how I am feeling in this friend group—it’s like a cat pouncing on a fly after it’s been smacked around and can’t get off the ground anymore.” Like I said before, I couldn’t help being vicariously overwhelmed for Teddi.
Teddi continued, “So I turn to Erika, recalling in NYC walking up those stairs when Erika said yes, she would be pissed if it were her. ‘Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. It’s possible.’ That is all I hear before saying she was ‘pretending full amnesia.'” I.e. telling Erika that she is lying and pretending to forget what she said.
Teddi wrote, “As you saw, she was triggered and unleashed on me. Look, I wasn’t raised to speak to people that way and so I was kinda shocked by her unnecessary anger. Even if I don’t like someone, I will treat them with respect and can be cordial.”
Teddi theorized, “I just feel like she’s just been waiting for the moment since we first met. She snapped at me in Vegas, she snapped at me at the beach house, she even corrected me when I called her a singer— something we’ve seen others call her to no effect. She’s done being nice to me? I must have missed when she started. It’s not in my nature to attack back on someone unhinged over the littlest thing, and so I disengage. But as you see me say to LVP— if she doesn’t remember, why is she so upset?” Because you said she lied and because you are right: she has never liked you and was just waiting for a moment to lash out.
There was even more for Teddi to recap from that disastrous lunch now that she has watched the episode: “As I rush off, Erika tells Dorit to ‘leave that.’ Not that I’d expect any less. She’s the same ‘friend”’who was earlier telling Dorit she shouldn’t care about Lisa Vanderpump’s attention/affection. But yet she would be pissed if she were in LVP’s shoes regarding Dorit? Why not just tell Dorit that rather than mock their relationship?”
Teddi continued to go in: “It seems like Erika is enjoying the rift between LVP and Dorit more than she lets on. Or she’s just not sure of how to function in a legitimate friendship that isn’t somebody telling her how amazing she is on a loop.” Shade thrown at Mikey Minden etc.
Teddi concluded, “Oh, and crybaby? Sure, I’m a woman with emotions, and I cried. It’s allowed. It’s natural. What’s not natural is for you to stop another woman from trying to comfort somebody who’s obviously upset. But all bow to Regina Jayne. I won’t be sitting at that table. I prefer genuine people and feelings over ice and diamonds.” Damn, she threw in a Mean Girls reference and she used Erika’s own tagline against her. If only she had this much vigor on screen. This would be a way more interesting season than we have been subjected to.
TELL US- DID TEDDI WAIT TOO LONG TO TELL RINNA WHAT DORIT SAID? IS TEDDI LVP’S NEW PET? DID TEDDI ACCUSE ERIKA OF LYING? DID ERIKA OVERREACT?

Is a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills comeback in the works for Brandi Glanville? This sure seems like a possibility. Andy Cohen recently appeared in a video message for Brandi when she was on Celebrity Big Brother. Soon after, Brandi appeared as a guest on Watch What Happens Live.
So it seems like she is still cool with Andy and the Bravo network, but what about the Beverly Hills cast? And that is the obstacle Brandi needs to overcome if she does want to reclaim her diamond. Andy is on board with Brandi’s return, but there’s something she needs to accomplish for that to happen.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Andy admitted, “The problem is, she’s not connected with any of the women.” The cast did not exactly miss Brandi when she left. Kim Richards and Yolanda Hadid were her only friends left on the show, but neither of them a part of the cast, and they don’t even make cameo appearances anymore.
Andy theorized, “If somehow Brandi and [Lisa Vanderpump], or Brandi and Kyle [Richards], or if she wound up legitimately becoming good friends with a few of those women, then I think that would be great. Then we would bring her back. Right now … she’s still on an island.” Considering how much shit Brandi talks about Lisa and Kyle in a very public forum and then with Lisa getting dragged into that lawsuit debacle, I don’t see that happening, but I do see the genuine animosity there making some great TV.
Andy used the New Jersey Housewives as an example: “Danielle Staub legitimately became friends with Teresa [Giudice] again.” There’s very little chance that Brandi can become legitimate friends with Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle, but maybe she can reconnect with Lisa Rinna or someone else she shares an enemy with. If that’s the only way it will happen, I’m all for Brandi reworking her Season 5 tagline to “I’d rather spend my life kissing ass than kicking it”- at least until she’s filmed a few scenes for next season.
Andy emphasized, “I mean, if that’s what Brandi wants to do.” He made sure to add, “I’m not assigning her that assignment.” So hopefully Brandi read that and is drafting some messages to text current cast members. I cannot deal with another boring season of this show. We need Brandi and we’ve needed her for a while.
