We’ve talked at nauseam about NeNe Leakes and he lack of presence on this season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. There have been so many rumors about what the cause may or may not be. Is she having a contract dispute with producers? Is she boycotting filming with her nemesis Kenya Moore? None of this is confirmed and NeNe isn’t exactly being forthcoming.
But NeNe took things to a whole new level when she decided to announce on social media that she hired high-powered attorney Lisa Bloom for….well, we still don’t really know. We ran this story almost two weeks ago and NeNe is still no closer to telling us what it’s all about. Between this and the whole Wendy Williams spilled tea on her supposedly saying she was going to quit RHOA, I’m thinking NeNe needs to hire a new PR person.
As much as it’s keeping her in the news, it doesn’t exactly make her look very transparent to fans. If you ask me, it all seems like a ploy for the attention she’s not getting from this season. Or maybe it’s her way of trying to keep the heat off her from the rumors that she spit on Kenya. This has yet to come to light but one thing NeNe is saying is that she’s not getting what she deserves.
NeNe is speaking out on the matter, telling Entertainment Tonight, “Everybody’s human on this show, and everybody makes mistakes — and I feel like I’ve definitely made mistakes, but I also feel like my mistakes are forgivable, and if they can forgive each other, I don’t see why they can’t forgive me for any little thing.”
Sure, that’s true but it’s also worth noting that those who make mistakes on the show usually own up to them. I’m not saying everyone does, but NeNe is notorious for never giving a sincere apology or owning her ish.
But she goes with that narrative saying, “And the whole thing that they’re trying to hold against me is last year. Last year, my husband had cancer, and I was his caretaker.” NeNe laments, “I dealt with so much last year, and I feel like I don’t get a break for that, or I don’t get any sympathy for that, because I’m NeNe.” Yes, because you’re NeNe and you have burned every bridge of a friendship that anyone has tried to have with you. Sorry guys, but this really has me worked up!
NeNe continues to explain, “We never had cancer in our home before. And everyone is like, ‘Well, last year…’ Girl, last year, I don’t even know who I was last year. Like, I went through so much last year.”
No one is doubting what NeNe went through last year, but what is up for debate is how much of that can NeNe blame on her behavior?

Things on Real Housewives of Atlanta are really starting to heat up. Now that we have started to move past the “everyone has a new baby” storyline *snooze*, we are finally starting to see the drama that RHOA is known for giving us season after season. Kenya Moore came for Marlo Hampton at her wig party. Then Tanya Sam came for Kenya and her alleged wig use. Which led to Kenya coming for Tanya with the Cookie Lady. Apparently, the Cookie Lady’s real name might be Shiana. But, does she really deserve to be called anything other than Cookie Lady after that poor attempt at a Tanya takedown? No, she does not. It was very clear that even if Kenya set out to create mess, it was only good in theory. And she can thank the Cookie Lady for failing miserably.
But the real reason RHOA is bringing the heat is who else? NeNe Leakes, who is never too far from the drama, even if she has barely shown up in any of the episodes this season. We all know how much she hates Kenya and the rest of the season will be no exception of her displaying that disdain. All of that to say we are leading up to the “did she” or “didn’t she” spit on Kenya.
NeNe is finally addressing the rumors and trying to do damage control tell her side of the story. She starts by telling Entertainment Tonight, “Kenya, I’ve never had a friendship with her. I’ve never had a friendship with her. She’s always come around and wanted to bicker with me, and I think she wanted to bicker with me because it looks good in the press.”
That bickering is going to be front and center in upcoming episodes, including a much-teased moment where NeNe appears to spit on Kenya. NeNe says of the incident,“I don’t even know what was going through my mind in that moment, but what I do know is, I didn’t spit on her — but I sorta, kinda wish I had.”
NeNe continues, “I’m just gonna be honest about that, because I just think some of the things Kenya says is really nasty and really dirty. And I just feel like, girl, you are just — you probably need to be spit on. You just probably need to be. And it may not sound great, but she probably needs to be spit on. And I have no sympathy for her. I just don’t.” Well, damn.
Ok, so to break it down, NeNe is claiming she did the “act of” spitting. However, she didn’t actually spit on Kenya, whatever that is supposed to mean. Where I come from, you either spit on someone or you don’t. There isn’t an “act of”. For her part, Kenya maintains that NeNe did, in fact, spit on her. To which I say, DUH.
Despite Kenya’s claims, NeNe remains unbothered, snapping, “Of course she wanted to run with it, and that’s fine by me. I don’t care, girl. Run with it — I only wish I had spit on you, girl.”

Social justice warrior and star of Vanderpump Rules, Tom Sandoval, is that guy who sticks up for the underdog. When he isn’t shaving his forehead or straightening his hair, you might find him saving loose-lipped James Kennedy from a throat punch. You could almost say in the realm of reality television, Tom is one of the good guys.
Most of the veteran cast are adulting now, including Tom. Along with partners Tom Schwartz and Lisa Vanderpump, the cocktail journey to enlightenment known as TomTom has brought some fresh blood to the Pump Rules petri dish waters. Some of these new cast members might be testing the limits of what is deemed acceptable in the age of social media. Or life in general. Newcomer, Max Boyens, recently came under fire for some uncovered ignorant and racist comments posted to Twitter. Now Tom 1 is being called out for his lack of response to Max’s youthful stupidity and he explains exactly what went down.
I’m not on that whole “gosh people can be so dumb when they are young and say horrible things” train, but I’m also not this kid’s PR person. Welcome to television, Max, how’s it working out for you? On February 19, Champion of All Things Moral, Jax Taylor, blasted his buddy (?) Tom 1 on Twitter in a series of now-deleted posts. Apparently Jax, and quite a few other people, are questioning Sandoval’s lack of innate rage towards Max for the truly idiotic things he wrote in the past. But it’s cool because Tom says, he YELLED at Max when he found out.
According to The Blast, US Weekly spoke with Tom 1 and he attempted to clear things up. “I hit him up and yelled at him about it. Max is nothing like that,” Tom said. Oh, so Max doesn’t want to “punch Asians in the suck hole”? Thank goodness!
Sandoval continued, “A lot of those tweets, Max comes from an ethnic background. His grandfather fought Muhammad Ali. He’s 100 percent African-American. He’s just was a stupid 19-year-old kid.” A 6-year-old kid might, MIGHT, get away with this. But because Max’s grandfather fought Muhammad Ali, let’s all forget the fact that “There’s this girl I see everyday @ school, she looks just like the girl from the movie precious & I’m not just saying this cuz she’s big and black” exists. Yeah, sorry, no.
Still, Tom 1 defends Max and insists he “isn’t a bad guy” and in no way condones his statements. Well golly, it’s good to know you can reach the ripe old age of 19 and still not know to never, ever have anything to do with the n-word. Obviously Max writing out, “It upsets me that the word n— is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it’s my favorite word” is CLEARLY a mistake. I’m sure each and every one of us have done this at some point. Right? No? Oh, that might be because WE AREN’T MORONS. Tom agrees, “Even if it was to your friends and you were indirectly trying to be coy and passive aggressive to your friends, you don’t tweet things like that,” he shared. YOU THINK?
Back in January, Max released a statement and was vewy sowwy for what he wrote. “I want to sincerely apologize for what I tweeted in 2012 — it was wrong on every level. It is not a representation of who I am. I am shocked I ever tweeted that — and I am disgusted and embarrassed. I am truly sorry.” Sure, Jan. But is he sorry because his nastiness was put on blast, or has he completely changed as a human being?
Tom 1 stands by his general manager and insists Max’s past words were in no way a reflection of who he actually is. Max remains employed at TomTom and on Vanderpump Rules, despite his past transgressions. On the bright side, Kristen Doute is no longer the most annoying person on this program.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is moving again: All Stars 5 will only be on Showtime when it premieres this summer with a “special edition,” whatever that means.
When Bethenny Frankel decided to quit Real Housewives of New York in August of 2019, it was a surprise to many viewers. According to co-star Ramona Singer, Bethenny’s fellow New York Housewives found out the news in the press. Yikes!
Allegedly, Bravo executives were upset with Bethenny months before she left RHONY because Bethenny was teaming up with Mark Burnett to produce unscripted TV shows. Whether or not you are a fan, Bethenny does create great television.
Variety reported that Bethenny announced that her new project, an unscripted reality competition series, has been picked up for eight episodes by HBO Max. In the half-hour series, titled The Big Shot With Bethenny, competitors will vie for a spot on the executive team of Bethenny’s Skinnygirl brand. I am a Bethenny fan, but just watching the way that she treated her staff and assistants on RHONY was stressful. I know that she is a perfectionist, but occasionally I would feel panicked watching at home.
So, what does Bethenny have to say about her new project? “Aside from motherhood, what truly defines me as a person is being a driven, passionate and hard-working woman determined to make the impossible possible. My mantra is to come from a place of ‘yes’ and to find and create the solution,” Bethenny stated.
She also said, “I am an executor of visions, and I share and impart that information to those who work with me. MGM has been neck-in-neck with me with ideas and their execution. I couldn’t be more thrilled to continue my longstanding relationship with Mark Burnett on this series and pay this American Dream story forward.”
In March of 2019, Bethenny inked the deal with Burnett and MGM Television to develop unscripted projects that she will executive produce and will always possibly even appear on camera. According to Variety, The Big Shot With Bethenny is the first show under this new deal to nab a series order.
Jennifer O’Connell, executive vice president of original non-fiction and kids programming for HBO Max said, “I first met Bethenny when I put her on the first season of ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ and she’s always both impressed and entertained me. It’s incredible to see her empire continue to grow and I know that candidates will be clamoring to work for her.”
Barry Poznick, MGM’s president of unscripted & alternative television and Orion Television, also sang Bethenny’s praises. “Bethenny is that rare talent whose creative instincts are equal to her business acumen and working with her to create this series has been an amazing collaboration. We’re giving fans what they want, access inside Bethenny’s businesses so they can see how she runs her empire, all while offering one fan the chance of a lifetime to join her executive team,” Poznick said. Bethenny will executive produce the new show along with Burnett, Dan Cesareo, Lucilla D’Agostino and Poznick.

There is another tragic shooting involved event coming out of the Real Housewives universe. Another shooting has taken place at an establishment, this time a residence, owned by a Housewife. Teddi Mellencamp has been busy with her current pregnancy and filming the next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It’s also well known that her husband, Edwin Arroyave, who is regularly featured on the show with her, is the CEO of a wealthy security company, although its reputation has long been suspect. If you remember when Kyle Richards’ new house was burglarized, Edwin’s company was the security they were using at the time of the robbery.
But security company aside, Edwin and Teddi also own a rental property in Los Angeles. This house was being rented by 20-year-old rapper, Pop Smoke. If you aren’t familiar with him or his music, the Brooklyn-born rapper is best known for his single, “Welcome to the Party”.
Sadly, Page Six reports that Pop Smoke was shot and killed on Wednesday during a house party at the home he was renting from Teddi and Edwin. It is believed that the shooting was a result of a home invasion robbery.
It’s being reported that two men wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts came into the house where Pop Smoke was staying at around 4:30 a.m. local time and fired multiple gunshots, resulting in the rapper’s death.
Teddi took to Instagram to post her condolences saying, “Early this am we were informed by a 3rd party leasing and management company overseeing a rental home we own in Los Angeles that a shooting had taken place at the property.”
She continued, “Foremost, we would like to extend our prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic loss of life.”
Teddi also went on to say she has no other information about the shooting by saying, “We aren’t aware of any of the details beyond what we’ve been told or seen reported on the news and at this time we would like to refrain from commenting further as we wish for the focus to remain on the law enforcement officers who are diligently doing their jobs.”
We truly hope that all of those involved in the fatality can find justice out of this tragedy.

This affair was packed full of drama with a capital D. Many couples have realized that their journey is not quite what they expected. Sit tight while this group continues to expose all of their dirty laundry. Let’s get straight to the recap!
Mike and Natalie’s relationship is in even worse condition, than we originally thought. The topic of their religious differences is discussed. Natalie is very religious, whereas Mike is an atheist who considers aliens a higher power. I still don’t understand how such an unlikely pair, even thought it was a good decision to date. It’s obvious neither is going to change their mindset and its affecting their relationship/
When Natalie is asked directly if she loves Mike, she still can’t say it. Apparently she fell out of love with him, after he hurt her. Both seem to play coy and try to evade the question. Natalie lets it slip that she felt betrayed which causes more questions and confusion from the curious cast. Girl, just tell us what happened! Finally Mike tells his version of the story, which we find out isn’t completely true. Apparently he spent the night at a female friend’s house. Natalie believes he cheated with this woman and that is why she doesn’t feel like she is in love anymore. Sorry, Mike but your story isn’t adding up.
When discussing the visa process, a video is shown of Angela Deem receiving the news that Michael Ilesanmi was denied for his visa. Michael breaks down in tears watching the scene. I didn’t think it could get any worse than listening to Angela discuss having sex 48 times during her trip to Nigeria. Then the host introduces Michael’s friends via video chat. Angela immediately waves and says “Hi goofballs.” Of course, the footage shown is when his friends called her trashy. This is not going to go well.
Angela goes into an angry tirade when the host inquires as to why Michael’s friends don’t like her. Basically they double down on their statements and reiterate they believe her to be trashy. Well… they aren’t lying. Angela cursed and screamed a rebuttal but only managed to prove their point. Michael’s friends could only laugh as she threatened them through the screen. I can’t lie, it was the most entertaining part of the episode. Robert applauded Michael for standing up for his fiancé and called his friends “haters.” Chile please, have they met Angela? Who wouldn’t warn their friend against someone like her? Hell I am still not entirely convinced she isn’t handcuffing him to the bed at night, so he can’t make a quick getaway. The cast rallied around Angela, but I know they went home and laughed.
First, who the hell styled Blake? He already was trying too hard with the Dennis the Menace hair, but now he has colored contacts too!!!!!!!!!!! Insert side eye emoji. Blake’s friends join via video chat to discuss their thoughts on his wife, Jasmin. They basically confirmed what we saw all season. She is often standoffish and they believe she feels she is above them. Blake tries to defend his wife by saying her actions are cultural, not intentional. I’m not buying it and apparently neither are Blake’s friends. Jasmin admitted that she doesn’t feel the need to spend time with her husband’s family or friends. Hopefully Jasmin will make more of an effort if she truly loves her husband.

No matter what school you belong to – Old School, New School, Red School, Blue School – one thing can easily be agreed on: When it comes to Survivor: Winners At War, class is officially in session. This red-hot all-winners season didn’t miss a beat following its electric two-hour premiere last week, and with this caliber of players we know that it’s only going to get better from here.
As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s episode of Survivor: Winners at War. If you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap. It is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Three hours and two episodes into Season 40, I think the argument can be made that the “old school” seems to be getting beat by the “new school” of players. With three contestants (all women…) now on The Edge of Extinction, the last two are bona fide old schoolers, with Amber and now Danni Boatwright having their torches snuffed out. With Amber, yes she was targeted because of her proximity with her husband, Boston Rob, but also because she didn’t show us too much in the game during her short time…she wasn’t able to form the relationships or simply keep up with the speed of the game. Danni on the other hand, came out swinging, but unfortunately her first punch was thrown at Boston Rob and it came back to bite her. Ultimately, she too, was not able to find a place in this game. And yes, Natalie was the first one voted out and she is a new school player, but she’s been in high-gear on The Edge, having collected two Fire Tokens now and really understanding – seemingly more than Amber – that she is still in a game and needs to work all angles accordingly.
This is not to say that the new school style of play will win out…it is FAR too early to call that. For even though we’ve now seen two old schoolers in a row get voted out, the old schoolers that remain in the game are showing why they’re legends. How, for example, is it that both Parvati and Boston Rob can survive votes? They are two of the most dangerous and legendary players the game has ever seen, and they’re not out yet? As much as these newer winners want to take their place in the upper echelon of Survivor “legends,” thus far they don’t seem to be as confident up against their in-game Idols. Ben, for the second-straight week, had his tongue tied-up and handed back to him by Boston Rob who was able to talk circles around him. Adam really didn’t like Rob’s antics at Tribal, but he went along with it anyways and barely was able to speak up against the “empty your bags” gimmick that Rob was insisting upon.
Knowing that Danni was on the outside, I see Michele‘s logic (remember her?) when she chatted with Jeremy, saying that maybe the Danni vote-out was the right thing to do first. Even Jeremy told us in a confessional that he wants to control this game. But how does voting out Danni do anything but put all the new schoolers in even more danger, by keeping players like Rob or Parvati in the game for three more days? A disenfranchised Danni might have been someone that could have been brought in, and we all know she’s a loyal player from her own winning season. If “Winners at War” is a prize fight between the best the sport has to offer, then this week was a series of timid jabs, a sparring session, with each heavyweight playing a bit too cautious and too safe. In other words, the players right now seem to be looking for ways to not get knocked out, instead of looking to land that knock-out punch of their own.
Keeping Boston Rob around is even more crazy and dubious, if you are Jeremy. Just like Sandra last week, once Jeremy is bequeathed the Fire Token and sees how powerful they are and that they can be bartered for powerful advantages, he figures that this offer of trade must be coming from the Edge of Extinction. Thinking this through, wouldn’t he then realize that Rob has a powerful ally – his wife! – on the Edge and that this makes Rob even that much more dangerous to leave in the game? It’s mind-boggling to me how good the Rob-father is at this game, and he’s such a force at this point in Survivor history that he looms over everything. This dude has his wife potentially feeding him advantages from the Edge, he single-handedly lost his tribe the Immunity Challenge, and HE’S FRICKIN’ BOSTON ROB, and still these other FORMER WINNERS are afraid to take a shot at him? That’s some next-level power right there. Rob, as he mentioned, definitely didn’t have the best day – and don’t think he’s not going to exact revenge for whomever he believes voted out Amber – but he’s not going anywhere anytime soon based on the hold he has over the others at this point in the game.
This week was notable too because it cued the viewers in that not every single game advantage is going to come from the Edge. This week saw two two-part Idols being found, one by Denise (who gave the other half to Adam) and one by Kim (who inexplicably gave her other half to Sophie). Sophie is low-key amazing so far and feels like a real surprise…of all of the new schoolers, she seems and feels the most comfortable out there. We didn’t get too much in the way of strategy from the Red Tribe this week, but thank God for Tony though right? His makeshift ladder was a highlight of the hour, as was all of the surrounding commentary as Tony put his life on the line for…a piece of fruit?
The little bit of strategy that did come from the Red Tribe might be super-important moving forward however, and that’s the emergence of the “Cops-R-Us” alliance between Tony and Sarah. It sounds like from both of their confessional interviews, that they plan to honor their alliance this time around, and I don’t think it makes the episode if it wasn’t important. I guess the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t.
Circling back to Jeremy, he went from potentially the first one voted-out of the game to being in a super-unique position. One phrase that didn’t get any play this week was “the poker alliance” and Jeremy is in that exclusive clique. So while he is decidedly in the new school alliance, he still has some old school ties, which gives him several options moving forward. His new power – bequeathed (I just like typing that word) from Natalie – just makes him that more dangerous.

Episode Take-Away: How can you not love this season? What a rush it still is to watch all of these winners play the game together. This is the last week I’ll allow myself to be sad that Richard Hatch and John Cochran were not a part of this season…could you imagine if they were out there too? But alas, I’m over it.
I felt like Danni was in trouble right from the start when she threw out Boston Rob‘s name and maybe came out a bit too hard out of the gates. The idea that she gave her Fire Token to Denise is interesting to say the least, being that Denise helped vote her out. I like where the game is going, but I was honestly hoping for something a bit more complex and challenging than simply “old school” versus “new school.” I think this is just the players finding their comfort level in the game thus far, and I’m definitely betting that this divide will hopefully blur as the game speeds along.
