Real Housewives Of New York Taglines Revealed For Season 8

Tonight Bravo gave us our first “First Look” at this week’s premiere of The Real Housewives of New York season 8. The show is returning in five days (Wednesday, April 6th) and aside from a peek at the first ten minutes of the episode and some highlights of the drama to come, we also get a look at their new taglines for the season! 

We’re going to see plenty of fighting, an engagement, a surgery scare, loads of boozy banter and so much more! We can’t wait!

Cynthia Bailey Says She and Peter Thomas Are “Talking About Moving Forward In A Different Direction”

Peter Thomas and Cynthia Bailey’s relationship has seemed to be on the rocks for a while now, but the Real Housewives of Atlanta stars are taking baby steps toward divorce. The first step was showing the turbulence in their marriage this season (starting off with that “cheating video” hitting the press just as filming for RHOA started. The second step was admitting things weren’t perfect and spending longer chunks of time apart.  Now we’re on to step three. Step three included admitting that things are, in fact, very rough and that discussions are being had about the possibility of calling it quits.  Step four will likely wait until RHOA resumes filming. Just a hunch.

 On the status of her relationship with husband Peter Thomas:  “Things are not great with Peter and I. At this time, I’m just taking time for myself to just try to figure it out.”

She adds, “Unfortunately you know, when you go through issues like this, you can’t just you know, shut your whole life down for a couple of months, and meditate and you know…just really properly deal with it. I still have to be a mother, I still have to work, I still have to do meetings, so it’s not easy. But I am taking time to myself. We have not done anything officially, but we are in talks about moving forward in a different direction.” And likely they’ll wait to do anything “officially” until cameras are present to capture it.

On why she fought so hard to save her marriage, she tells NBC New York:  “Well you know, this is my first marriage… I still love Peter, I was completely in love with him, you know, back during our wedding, but things just started falling apart like really early on, and marriage is just so tough anyway, weddings are just so stressful anyway, but when you’re on a reality show… when you throw all of those things on it…. I am a strong woman, believe me, but I can only do so much, and at some point, nothing has to be that hard.”
 
Speaking of Cynthia’s troubled relationships, she talks about her friendship break from NeNe Leakes. “We good, and then we were real bad…. We were out of control, it got really, really bad. NeNe was the first lady that I met when I started this journey on Real Housewives, and the first one that I connected with, so that’s always been a real, real friendship, a real sisterhood, my relationship with her. So when it went bad, it went really bad, and we didn’t actually talk for a couple years, which was hard, but at the same time, was also kind of good, to just have that time apart. And you know, as you guys see that she was SO happy to be back in my life… no, it was one of those things that no matter where I went or she went over the two years, it just got crazy, because it was just like, oh I wish you and Nene could work it out, and she was getting the same thing, so it was kind of nice to just finally work it out.”

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Erika Girardi Dishes On The Battle Of The Lisas In Dubai

So, Dubai…that looks like an amazing place to go, right? I’m sure it is, but its beauty and ridiculously amazing opulence was overshadowed on this week’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills by a four-letter-word: LISA. Am I referring to Lisa Vanderpump or Lisa Rinna? To be completely honest, I’m not entirely sure.

All season, Rinna’s overly plumped lips have been talking about Munchausen and Yolanda Foster. She’s tired of being the scapegoat. No, she’s not tired, she enraged. And then there’s Lisa Vanderpump, or LVP as she’s been newly dubbed this season (I blame newbie Kathryn Edwards). The all-around fan favorite has been relegated to the group villain thanks to editing and an inability to apologize for whatever her co-stars think is deserving of an apology. Erika Girardi has her own opinions.

In her Bravo blog this week, Erika dissects that awkward dinner (the one that happened after the awkward hookah, camel-eating situation). She begins, “This trip is so much on so many levels. Let’s agree that Dubai, with all its over-the-top luxury, is a one-of-a-kind city. So much has happened in the short amount of time that we’ve been here that it’s somewhat overwhelming. I’m not talking about the time change, the food, or the hotel… I’m talking about the human experience: Emotions are overflowing and tensions are high.”

Erika continues, “Being new to this group, obviously I’m last in the social pecking order. I’ve missed a lot of back-story and private conversations, so when they are brought up in little pieces I’m sometimes struggling to put things together. But one thing is clear: Lisa Rinna feels as though she has taken the fall for the Munchausen/Lyme conspiracy about Yolanda. This is where things get tricky. Who do you believe? Do you go with what you see and hear? Or do you go with your gut?”

Concluding, Erika wonders if its all a giant, lemon-scented conspiracy theory. She writes, “Is it possible these women came up with a plan in an attempt to ruin Yolanda’s integrity? Is Lisa Vanderpump lying like Lisa Rinna says she is? Was Kyle [Richards] part of these conversations, and is she OK with her and Lisa Vanderpump’s alleged involvement? It gets curiouser and curiouser… And I’m definitely ‘down the rabbit hole.'”

Did Erika mean “rabbit hole” or “snake hole”? Only time will tell. If you need me, I’ll be hanging out with my pet ball python, Lowell. His first birthday was this week, and while he loves watching RHOBH with me, I think he’s a bit worried he’ll one day end up a handbag at Kyle By Alene Too.

Robyn Dixon Explains Her Comments on RHOP: “I Wasn’t Trying To Create A Racial Stir”

Robyn Dixon set off a bit of a firestorm on this week’s Real Housewives of Potomac when she asked if Ashley Darby‘s husband’s behavior was “a white guy thing.” At Charrisse Jackson Jordan‘s 50th birthday bash, Michael Darby’s antics came under scrutiny when he allegedly started grabbing the butts of fellow…fellows! Katie’s Rost‘s boyfriend, Andrew, was the recipient of Michael’s playful grab-a$$, and seemed to take it all in stride. But the whole situation blew up after Robyn asked her (very loaded) question. 

Robyn defends, “I’d first like to explain my comment, because it surely was taken too seriously and in this racially sensitive world we are living in today, it needs to be explained. I wasn’t trying to create a racial stir by asking if Michael’s grabbing of Andrew’s butt was a ‘white guy thing.’ I really was just trying to throw Michael a lifeline, because what other good explanation is there for a straight, married man to grab another man’s butt? Hmmmm?”

Admitting she would be “incredibly shocked” if her (ex) hubby Juan was caught out there grabbing other guys’ rears, Robyn further asserts, “And had another man grabbed Juan’s butt, that man wouldn’t just have been able to walk away like it was nothing. But no, Katie and Ashley acted like that was something normal that happened all the time – hence my question.”

Katie’s response to the question, and her escalation of the situation, took Robyn by surprise. She reacts in her blog, “I was very shocked that Katie got so charged up about my lighthearted comment and turned a fun evening into a huge racial attack. I just didn’t even see the connection between my butt grabbing comment and my racial identity. Calling me biracial as if it was a fighting word was so dumbfounding, especially since I had already had a conversation with Katie about my racial background. And it was especially dumbfounding coming from a biracial woman who should understand the definition of ‘biracial’ and that black people come in many different shades.”

Admitting she was “dumbfounded” when Katie suggests she go get her genealogy checked out, Robyn argues, “Not once did I deny that I have white ancestry or say that I was ‘straight out of Africa.’ These comments show Katie’s extreme ignorance regarding the history of black people in America.” 

Robyn continues, “It is clear that I not only have black ancestry, but also white, Native American, and who knows what else in me! However, both of my parents are black and everyone that came before them classifies as black. I really don’t want to get into a history lesson, and thank goodness for the internet, but I suggest Katie and anyone else confused by my blackness to look up the ‘one-drop rule.'”

As far as Katie’s accusation that Gizelle Bryant and Robyn are the most “racially obsessed duo” she’s ever met, Robyn chalks it up to Katie’s over-sensitivity. Perhaps Katie needs to work her stuff out? Robyn seems to think so, remarking, “If Katie thinks that I am so racially obsessed, I think that Katie is extremely racially sensitive. It’s clear that the simple mention of race freaks Katie out and I’m not sure why. Maybe she has her own issues with her race and identity that she needs to sort out before wrongly attacking other people.”

Kathryn Edwards Breaks Down The Dubai Drama; “Seems To Me There’s More Than One Manipulator In The Group”

If I were asked to choose which of the two Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newbies to keep, Kathryn Edwards wins, hands down. I’ve especially enjoyed Kathryn‘s blogs throughout the season, and this week is no different. She breaks down the drama in Dubai objectively and calls out her co-stars on their messiness without being nasty.

About Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson‘s discussion about the word enraged, Kathryn observes, “Eileen tells Lisa R that Erika didn’t like the word ‘enraged’ and Eileen, rightfully in my opinion, says that she thinks the word was a bit big for the actual feeling with regard to Yolanda [Foster] having lunch with Kim and Brandi. Eileen decides that the word ‘upset’ is more suited to what Lisa R was actually feeling. Clearly, Lisa R is colorful, she talks with highly descriptive words that sound bigger than the actual situation or moment requires, but that is who she is. We all know that.”

Kathryn wonders why Eileen gets to decide which words are okay to use.

“How does Eileen decide when Lisa R is over-exaggerating and dramatic or when it’s real and honest? One minute it’s ‘big talk’ coming from Lisa R that’s pretty harmless, and the next minute it’s honesty and truth. Hell, I can’t tell. Lisa R says Lisa V is ‘directional’ one minute and the next minute she calls her a ‘manipulator.’ Clearly Eileen prefers the word manipulator because then she doesn’t look like the only ‘A-Hole.’ Hmm, seems to me that there’s more than one manipulator in the group if those are the terms for handing out the label.”

Kathryn suggests, “Maybe Lisa R needs to say ‘no’ to the people who want to direct her and have her do dirty work. When does accountability take effect? Stay tuned to this subject, because it’s far from over. Ugh.”

About the Munchausen drama, Kathryn shares, “Lisa R clearly introduced that word to the group. Why would Lisa V want to take Kyle down if neither Kyle or Lisa V have any guilt in where the word came from? I asked Kyle how that made her feel, because I didn’t really believe that was the case. Could it have been a miscommunication? Then Kyle co-signed on it. OK. Now I’m really confused. Do friends do this? The bottom line for me is this: If Kyle is okay with it, then that’s up to her. I do not want to determine friendships for others. If Kyle knows what it is and doesn’t have a problem, then it doesn’t concern me.”

Kathryn calls out Lisa R and Eileen for coming to dinner with an agenda.

“Lisa R and Eileen came to dinner with nothing other than wanting to make Lisa [Vanderpump] fly the white flag. That’s how it felt sitting there. Munchausen Schmunchausen, manipulation/deflection, lies/apologies. It bothered me that Eileen and Lisa R wanted to make such a big deal about something that Kyle [Richards] had no issue with. Kyle said it, she said she didn’t care if Lisa V made the comment to Rinna…why isn’t that enough for them? Kyle and Lisa V said that they love each other and are good with their friendship…good enough for me.”

Kathryn adds, “I may not understand the nature with regard to that topic, but there are a lot of relationships that have quirks, who are any of us to judge their friendship? People could ask the same question about other friendships in the group. Oh, wait a minute, they did.”

About Eileen‘s non-stop complaining about the Hamptons, Kathryn shares, “Eileen is upset about the ‘affair’ word. I get it. It bothers her. She’s entitled to feel that way, those are her feelings. That’s fair. I would never take that away from her, and she wants to be heard. So, she wanted an apology. She got one in the Hamptons, she got one at Lisa V‘s house, and maybe somewhere else I don’t remember. Eileen doesn’t feel the apologies are sincere. Problem is, it’s starting to feel like Eileen is brow beating Lisa V for the elusive half-assed apology that she’s never going to get. Now it’s morphed into the fact that Lisa V can’t/won’t apologize properly or even understands that she offended Eileen.”

Kathryn admits she doesn’t think Lisa Vanderpump set out to hurt Eileen. Also, she says, 1) Eileen needs to let it go. 2) “It feels destructive at this point.” 3) Eileen simply brought MORE ATTENTION to her affair. You know, the topic she didn’t want to talk about, then she proceeded to talk about for five months straight. “Seems counterproductive in so many ways. This friendship is going to hell in a hand basket, and it doesn’t have to.”

“I think Erika and I were lost,” Kathryn says about the dinner conversation. “We both looked at each several times with wonderment as to what was going on. The subjects were all over the place, and no one was owning anything. Don’t fret, viewers. All of this wonderful Arabian drama isn’t over yet. It was a beautiful night that ended in tears. What a shame.”

Kathryn ends her blog with a positive note about finding the good in others.

“We are fortunate to have many types of people in our lives. I have always believed that people fit into one of three categories: a reason, a season, or a lifetime. All of them are gifts: a lesson, a great memory, or a history of life-long love. All of them provide goodness, it’s our choice to recognize it.”

Teresa Giudice’s Rental Property Gets No Bids In Foreclosure Auction!

Owning a home that was once in possession of Teresa Giudice is apparently not a big draw to buyers on the New Jersey foreclosure auction circuit! 

Teresa and Joe Giudice‘s Lincoln Park home, which they owned as a rental property, was auctioned off this week and even with the bidding beginning well below estimated value, there were no takers!

This is just the latest in the very VERY long string of troubling financial situations for the Real Housewives Of New Jersey star whose husband just began a 41 month sentence for fraud.

Teresa and Joe bought the Lincoln Park home in 2005 for $170,000 and used it solely as an “income property,” according to her attorney. However in 2014 after their bankruptcy was denied and they once again owed millions in debt, they allowed the property to lapse into foreclosure in a tactic her attorney described as “eliminating excess” and “doing more with less.”

Teresa and Joe owed $225,742 on the home when foreclosure proceedings began, but NJ.com reports that the lenders would be willing to accept at minimum $123,000 for the 3-bedroom, 1-bath home. Unfortunately for the bank, not a soul placed a bid and so the lenders bought the home back from the auction block for $100. 

The Giudice Jersey Shore house also hit the auction block last summer and failed to sell. Teresa and Joe have also battled reoccurring foreclosure proceedings on their Montville mansion, which last year they tried to sell for $3 million. 

While Teresa’s finances are are anything but zen, she’s been finding her center by beginning her yoga teacher training.  Glad she can de-stress! #Sarcasm

Real Housewives of Potomac Star Michael Darby Defends The Butt Squeeze

One Real Housewives of Potomac husband has found himself at the center of the drama this season more than any other Househusband (on this franchise): Michael Darby. Ashley’s husband has been irritating her co-stars by crashing a girls’ getaway, horrifying them by wanting to jump in the water to take a swim during a boring boat ride, and this week by grabbing the butt of another cast member’s significant other.

Michael got his own Bravo Q&A this week so he could explain the playful squeeze he gave to Andrew’s behind. “Andrew and I have become friends since the start of the show.  We have mutual interests and have found that we have friends in common.  We had enjoyed a fun night at Charrisse Jackson Jordan’s birthday party and were letting loose on the dance floor when I playfully touched Andrew’s butt. He responded as expected with a laugh and we continued to dance with our lovely ladies.”

Michael maintains he was just having fun with Andrew and doesn’t care that the other ladies were appalled. “I was surprised when two people (Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon) who had nothing to do with the incident decided to become involved and try to ruin my wife’s fun night by tattling (in Australia we call it dobbing) on me. I’m sure they were disappointed when Ashley Darby told them she didn’t think it was an “inappropriate white person’s thing” and that I was just having fun. Speaking of fun we partied into the wee hours with Charrisse and her incredible friends and family while the dobbers went home and slept.”

Michael also elaborated on the “boat moment” and Bethany Beach clash, “I’m used to being the center of attention in the real estate world, but I didn’t think I would cause this much trouble with the lovely ladies of Potomac. I guess my idea of enjoying a late afternoon boat trip (it wasn’t no yacht) in Annapolis on a hot summer’s day is different from several of the these ladies. If you put an Australian on a boat and give him the choice of swimming in the refreshing waters of the Severn River or listening to boring conversations about Potomac etiquette he would always choose the water over women drinking wine or should I say whiney women.”

On “crashing” their girls-only getaway at the beach house, “This was the longest period of time we had been away from each other since we were married and I knew she was working hard to host these women. I wanted to bring the Darby team together and help her host the festivities of the last night of their trip. I was shocked by the extreme and illogical reactions of Karen Huger and Gizelle but I wasn’t going to let it ruin our fun. While they went to bed and bolted their doors Ash Bash and the women who were not frightened by what I might do to them played beer pong, danced, and laughed until 4 AM. Darbys and Fun – 1 Karen and Gizelle – 0.”

He concluded with, “Ashley and I are a slightly unusual couple so we are used to people judging us. What judgmental people don’t get to see is two people that really love each other, and lead an incredibly exciting and interesting life.”
