Kate Middleton reportedly broke a royal rule that the late Queen Elizabeth followed by keeping her favorite foods private. The Princess of Wales has spoken openly about cooking, family meals, and her children’s tastes at public events. A new report claimed the late monarch avoided such details to stop hosts from repeating dishes endlessly. The claim centered on a quiet etiquette split between Catherine’s public family style and the former Queen’s tightly guarded routine.

Kate Middleton broke Queen Elizabeth’s royal rule by publicly discussing her favorite foods, per source

As per a RadarOnline report, Catherine repeatedly discussed food in public. The outlet claimed Queen Elizabeth guarded her tastes during her 70-year reign. One source said the Queen was “extremely careful” about personal preferences, especially food. The insider claimed palace staff joked that a casual mention of one dish could follow her for years. According to the source, hosts might feel “obligated to serve it to her.” The report framed that habit as a practical royal rule.

The source added that Queen Elizabeth understood how food comments could “snowball around the monarchy.” A former royal household source also said Elizabeth viewed menus as sensitive royal diplomacy. The insider said hosts would treat any favorite as “the safest possible way to impress her.” However, the report claimed Catherine represented a more “modern and informal approach” to royal life. That shift appeared most clearly in conversations about parenting, cooking, and her children’s meals.

RadarOnline cited Catherine’s 2018 visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital as one example. She met four-year-old heart transplant patient Rafael Chana from East Preston. When Rafael said he liked olives, Kate Middleton replied, “I used to eat lots and lots of olives.” After he mentioned pasta, the royal said, “Charlotte likes pasta too.” Meanwhile, during a visit to Scotland with Prince William, Catherine confirmed her love of curry. Asked if she cooked it herself, she said, “Yes, I love it.” William added, “She likes a bit of spice.” That moment again showed how Catherine handled the royal rule differently.

Bill Maher praised Donald Trump’s “honesty” during a recent episode of his podcast. The comedian and political commentator cited instances in the past when Trump scolded journalists in the past for asking questions that he considered disrespectful.

Bill Maher talks about Donald Trump’s honesty

In the Monday episode of his Club Random Podcast, Bill Maher praised Donald Trump’s “honesty” while responding to reporters. Speaking with his guest, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman. The TV host and political commentator gave his thoughts on Trump’s past responses to journalists whom he deemed disrespectful.

“There is something not exactly psychologically normal about someone who just vomits their interior monologue, but it gives him an authenticity with people that no one else can possibly match,” Maher said. He added, “The honesty—as someone who loves honesty and has made my career about it as much as I could—there’s some level of it where you tip your hat and go ‘Wow, total honesty.’”

Trump has chastised journalists on multiple instances in the past. Most recently, a 60 Minutes correspondent, Norah O’Donnell, asked the president about his thoughts on the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner gunman, Cole Tomas Allen’s manifesto, where he called Trump a “pedophile, rapist, and traitor.”

Trump denied the allegations and stated, “I was waiting for you to read that because I knew you would, because you’re horrible people.” He further chastised O’Donnell and called her “a disgrace.” Referring to that incident, Maher said, “His reaction immediately was to her, ‘You’re a terrible person.’ And he didn’t just think it.”

He continued, “Like any politician, that’s exactly what they’re thinking. He just says it like that’s what’s in his head,” adding, “It’s at the same time horrifying, and also it’s kind of refreshing.” Fetterman agreed with Maher and noted Trump’s “authenticity,” citing another incident when the president told a Bloomberg reporter, “Quiet, piggy,” after she asked him about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
