Although House of Villains brings together the worst of reality TV, Wes Bergmann thought it was a breeze compared to The Challenge. In fact, Wes said that The Challenge gets so grueling that it’s like serving a prison sentence.

Now, some of his House of Villains costars might disagree with that sentiment since they’ve actually been to prison. Either way, in a recent interview, Wes made it clear that E!’s reality show felt like child’s play compared to what he’s endured on MTV. Is that going to result in a win? That’s still to be determined.

Why House of Villains was a walk in the park for Wes

Obviously, the stunts on The Challenge are much more intense than what they do on House of Villains. They aren’t going to be tossing Teresa Giudice out of a helicopter for this show. With that in mind, the lack of extreme challenges on this show made Wes excited to join Season 2.

“I could show up to this fat and dumb and out of shape and do just fine,” Wes told People.

“Whereas on The Challenge, I have to train for six months, leave the country, and check into prison for three months. That’s way, way, way different,” he continued.

For Wes, another part of what made House of Villains easier was the shorter filming schedule. He has a one-year-old at home, so that’s where his priorities are these days. However, he’s never going to fully walk away from his MTV roots.

Wes teased, “I’m going to be The Challenge’s biggest cheerleader, and there are cameo-esque things in my future for The Challenge.”

“But getting to do different things with very different types of people checks off more of my bucket list than what would’ve amounted to my 22nd or 23rd season,” he continued. “There was starting to be a law of diminishing returns of what I was getting out of The Challenge.”

Ultimately, Wes wasn’t the only House of Villains star who thought the show was simpler than their regular gig. Teresa said the same thing about Real Housewives of New Jersey. She thought House of Villains was easier. So, if you’re a reality TV villain looking for a paid vacation from your regular show, it seems like this is the one to do.

Season 2 of House of Villains airs on E!, Thursday nights at 10/9c.
