If Real Housewives Had Superpowers, What Would They Be?

I just love a superhero story. An ordinary citizen is struck with extraordinary powers charged with keeping the entire population safe. When one of the newest Marvel or DC blockbusters comes out, I find myself glued to the screen with my popcorn and hope. Sometimes, this is also how I feel when I am watching the Real Housewives franchise. The women are icons and heroes in their own right. Even though Zeus may not have put their faces in the constellations, fans know they are in the presence of god when they bump into them. So I couldn’t help but ponder if the roles were reversed and our ladies were superheroes, who would they be?

Fired Real Housewives alum, Ramona Singer

What’s that saying, “Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee?” Well, for Ramona Singer, aka the Singer Stinger, we’d have to switch the bee to a scorpion. I am going to give her a similar origin to Peter Parker. But with Ramona, she was retreating in the dusty desert of Sedona, trying to find her inner peace. Spoiler alert: no such luck. As she lay tucked tight in her bed a tiny scorpion had snuck under the covers. But this was no normal scorpion. It was one that had escaped from Sonora Quest.

With a flick of its tale, Ramona was stung. Now, with the venom coursing through her, she was able to incapacitate her foe. Watch out, Luann de Lesseps if you don’t shape up that cabaret act, the Singer Stinger might just get you!

Jennifer Aydin?

The comic relief of Jennifer Aydin is, at times, what pulls a dull episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey into an interesting one. For Jen’s origin story, I am going to compare her to one of the X-Men. Charles Xavier had numerous pupils under his tutelage, but none quite like Rhapsody. She could put anyone into a trance just with her music. Jennifer’s talent isn’t far off as she can lull you into a hypnotized sense with her impressions of others, almost making you forget that she is usually at the center of the drama.

Both Jen and Rhapsody are elegant in their own right. And use their unique talent to win over a crowd. The ability that Jen has to crack a smile on anyone’s face allows her to gain their trust and, at times, solidify them as allies in her war against Danielle Cabral

Real Housewives icon, Tamra Judge

Perhaps one of the greatest superheroes of them all when it comes to the Real Housewives would be Tamra Judge. She is small but mighty and, more often than not, uses her power for good. From the moment she first yelled, “It’s my opinion!” I could sense she might have ties to the Hulk family. Just like Bruce Banner, Tamra was caught between two worlds. One where she was a soft-spoken newly baptized woman and another where she was pushed to her limits when dealing with some of her costars.

But again, just like Bruce, Tamra has a super soft side. Tammy Sue is nothing but a good friend as time and time again she has always spoken up for what is right. Whether she was warning Vicki Gunvalson about Brooks Ayers or Jennifer Pedranti about Ryan Boyajian. Tamra has a heart of gold and has become a fan favorite of the franchise, just like the big green dude has in Marvel.

Real Housewives alum Bethenny Frankel

The ex Real Housewives of New York star was a rogue housewife. Bethenny Frankel was always the dark horse who never fell in line. If I had to pick a superhero to match the mother of one’s personality, it would be Wolverine. Bethenny and Wolverine earned a reputation for being cutthroat, often coming off as cold and aloof. Both were formidable adversaries whenever anyone dared to cross their paths.

After her recent crusade against the network, followers were quick to learn that Kitty has claws. But if you took the time to get to know Bethenny and earned her trust she would be a protector for life.

Love Island USA: Is Season 6 The Best One Yet?

Is Season 6 of Love Island USA the best season yet?
Photo Credit: Kim Nunneley/Peacock via Getty Images

If you’re not watching Love Island USA on Peacock, you’re missing out on the hottest show of the summer. Until now, the stateside version has always been in the shadow of the original Love Island. Sadly, the UK series isn’t doing it for fans this year. Fortunately, Love Island USA started strong and just keeps getting better. If you follow any Bravo or reality TV fan accounts on social media, you’ve surely seen chatter about it.

Any Love Island UK loyalists who gave USA a past try but couldn’t get into it, I implore you to try again. If things continue at this rate, Season 6 could rank alongside the all-time great UK seasons. Only halfway through, I feel pretty confident calling this the best Love Island USA season yet, and here are a few of the reasons why.

Ariana is the perfect host

USA has its answer to Love Island UK host Maya Jama! One of the reasons there are more eyes on Love Island USA this year is because of superfan-turned-host Ariana Madix. The TV personality’s fan base is bigger than ever thanks to her latest gig.

Ariana is the perfect host, and not just because she nails a sassy slow-mo entrance. She’s funny, charming, and quick on her feet, which is needed with this cast. When recouplings and eliminations spiral out of control, she’s able to get through to the screaming islanders. As she promised ahead of the season, Ariana is like a wonderfully supportive big sister to the girls. She also hilariously calls out the guys’ bad behavior, which is sorely needed.

There’s been a lot of talk about the opportunities Ariana’s received since Scandoval. Watching this season of LI USA, it’s clear she gets those opportunities because of her undeniable star power. I imagine that, no matter what happens with Vanderpump Rules, Ariana will keep this gig as long as she wants it. Also, she looks better than ever!

Twists and turns keep everyone on their toes on Love Island USA

One of the reasons this season of LI USA is so elite is that producers refuse to allow even one boring episode. By this point, Love Island is a well-oiled machine. From bombshells to the recouplings to Casa Amor, even the biggest twists became predictable staples.

But if any Islander – or viewer – thought they could predict this season, they’re in for a surprise. This season feels almost experimental with some of the twists. Additionally, the contestants themselves are so chaotic, that they provide shocking twists just through conversations.

The challenges lead to drama

While they’re a major aspect of the series, Love Island viewers have a love-hate relationship with challenges. When they’re bad, it just feels like a desperate attempt to pad out episodes. However, there’s been a shocking lack of challenges on Love Island UK this year, and they’re sorely missed. But on LI USA Season 6, every challenge counts.

So far, every challenge has an impact on the episode or season as a whole. For instance, a dance challenge forced contestants to reveal if they wanted to stick with their current partner or twist to someone else. The results shocked viewers, caused some very emotional fallout, and led to the end of several established couples.

The challenges themselves are creative and very complicated and come with elaborate sets. Maybe producers were inspired by Love Island Games?

Every contestant brings it on Love Island USA

Ariana said it herself. One of the reasons this season is so good is the “perfect” cast of islanders. No one fades into the background in this group. The villa full of strong personalities means there’s been many, MANY gasp-worthy meltdowns and fights.

While Liv Walker hasn’t found a love connection, she’s constantly stirring up drama and calling people out. Leah Koteb amassed an army of stans, even as her moves and words get her in trouble. Viewers fell hard for Kordell Beckham, for reasons that have nothing to do with his superstar brother. And Rob Rausch’s poolside meltdown felt like the Love Island equivalent of Colton Underwood jumping over that fence.

To me, the clear standout is JaNa Craig, who gives instantly iconic quotes every episode. She loves to read the dictionary, she’ll make bombshell eggs in three different ways, and she dreams of living in a house shaped like her first initial. She’s hilarious, even while crying over plants. JaNa is charming, confident, a total girls’ girl, and stunning. To echo what Ariana said on Aftersun, I have no idea why the guys aren’t lining up to couple with her.

You truly can’t predict what any of these young singletons are going to do next. And that makes things very exciting. Even if it also gives viewers a bit of whiplash!

No one plays it safe

I’m not sure if the islanders know how popular this season is. Or they might just be too chaotic to maintain a strategy. Because no one seems too concerned with maintaining likability. No potential backlash is stopping them from taking a huge risk.

The girls showed they weren’t playing things safe back in week one of the season. It’s refreshing to watch them explore other options, even if it’s just a kiss in a challenge. Meanwhile, the guy contestants started to move mad as soon as they heard it was time for Casa Amor. Especially the guys who seemed the most closed off.

At this point, I’m not sure there are any strong couples. But there’s still three weeks for that. For now, I’m just enjoying the massive risks and unpredictable twists and turns. There’s no other show on right now that can have such massive changes day to day! And this means there’s yet to be a boring episode, which is very impressive. That alone might make this the best Love Island USA season yet.

Be sure to watch Love Island USA on Peacock.

Why 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 6 Could Be the Best Season Yet

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 6 might be the best yet.

The time for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 6 is finally here, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! The Other Way is one of the most enticing 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs, as it stands out from the others. On The Other Way, Americans move abroad to live in a foreign country with their partner. This differs from the traditional 90 Day Fiancé concept, where the foreign spouse typically moves to the US.

Season 6 looks even crazier than past seasons of The Other Way. As a result, it will be interesting to see what this season will bring. The Other Way Season 6 has the potential to be the spin-off’s best season yet, hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 6 will feature new countries

One of the most interesting aspects of The Other Way is seeing the foreign countries the Americans end up moving to. Season 6 will be particularly exciting, as it will feature several countries never seen before on the spin-off.

The first new country viewers will get to see is Iceland. Corona will move to Iceland to reunite with her beau Ingi, despite concerns from her family. This should be intriguing to watch, as Iceland is one of the most remote countries in the world. Another new country that will be featured is Ireland, where Joanne is headed to live with her husband Sean. Ireland has never been represented on any 90 Day Fiancé show, so this has been a long time coming.

Moving on to Asia, Josh will take the trek from the US to China to reunite with his wife Lily. China is another country that has hardly been shown on 90 Day Fiancé, so it will be nice to see more of it. Finally, James and Meitalia will return to the latter’s home country of Indonesia, which is also new. Despite other 90 Day Fiancé cast members originating from Indonesia, viewers haven’t gotten to see any segments filmed there yet.

TOW Season 6 will introduce interesting new couples

The Other Way Season 6 will introduce viewers to four new couples, each with a unique backstory. Josh and Lily originally met on a language learning app, where they had an instant connection. However, Josh is worried about not being able to work in China, and having to depend on Lily for everything. Similarly, Corona feels uneasy about giving up the opportunity to be a midwife, to move to Iceland to be with Ingi.

James and Meitalia are also in an interesting situation. Meitalia moved to the US from Indonesia for James, but she hasn’t enjoyed it. James has now decided to move to Indonesia with Meitalia, but he has some concerns. On the other hand, Joanne secretly married Sean without telling her family, which could become a big problem.

In addition to the four new couples, Season 6 will also include two returning couples. Statler Riley and Dempsey Wilkinson from 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days Season 6 will be back. The women will explore van life this season, which may not go as smoothly as they hope. Shekinah Garner and Sarper Guven from The Other Way Season 5 will also return. Shekinah will continue learning to adjust to her new life in Turkey, where she faces some challenges.

From what can be seen in the trailer, it looks like Season 6 will bring the drama fans crave. Statler and Dempsey’s relationship appears to be on thin ice, with Dempsey even suggesting a break-up. On the other hand, Shekinah is willing to undergo an entire transformation for Sarper. Despite being a little problematic, there’s no doubt Sarper is entertaining!

The end of the trailer teases a tense moment for James and Meitalia, whose marriage will be tested. Meitalia breaks down and asks her parents for forgiveness, and even gets on the floor to kiss her mother’s feet. Up in China, Lily’s daughter seems to be causing problems for her mother and Josh. Lily’s daughter suggests that Josh was with another woman, prompting Lily to tell him their marriage is done.

Back in America, Corona’s entire family is concerned about her move to Iceland. Corona’s grandmother in particular isn’t thrilled with the lack of diversity. Finally, Joanne’s family is shocked to hear that she plans to move to Ireland. This is surely just the beginning, as they still have to learn that Joanne secretly got married. All in all, The Other Way Season 6 looks like a wild ride and we are ready!
