Survivor is still one of the best shows on television, scripted or unscripted. Here are seven reasons—and in-depth stories—that explain why.
Remember when Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd was raising hell by calling co-star Vicki Gunvalson names? Or when she rang Shannon Beador’s bell by hitting a metal bowl on Shannon’s head with a mallet?
Kelly’s RHOC antics were annoying and inappropriate, but Kelly’s latest comments about the coronavirus outbreak are shocking and callous. Kelly doesn’t seem capable of zipping her lip.
According to Page Six, Kelly made insensitive comments about the Covid-19 epidemic during an Instagram Live post last week. On May 10, the clip was shared on Instagram by CELEBTM. In the video, a female friend of Kelly’s said, “It’s more every day. In New York, we’re down to 250 [deaths] a day.” Kelly seemed like she was comparing Covid-19 to “the flu.”
“But how many people die on a daily basis? Eight…nine million? Eight million?” Kelly asked a person off-camera. When the person agreed, Kelly stated, “Well, people are going to die! I’m sorry to tell ya.”
Kelly’s former RHOC co-stars decided to comment on the video. “Unbelievable!!! What will it take for her to understand how serious this is ? People are dying everywhere. Where’s your compassion???” Tamra Judge wrote. For once, I agree with Tamra!
Vicki simply posted, “Wow!” Naturally, Kelly couldn’t remain silent. “Thanks for this!! Giving me more relevance !! Keep tagging me,” Kelly commented.
This isn’t the first time that Kelly has gotten into trouble while discussing the pandemic. Page Six reported that Kelly took to Instagram on April 21, posting that she had recently traveled by plane and had been tested for Covid-19. When a fan criticized Kelly for flying during the coronavirus outbreak, Kelly fired back in a since-deleted post.
“If it’s dangerous why are the airlines still flying? You think I want to fly? I had to get back, how is that elitist?”
Kelly ranted in another comment, “Do you know how many people died from the H1N1, the swine flu or SARS? It’s 25% get your facts straight you only hearing numbers not the reality! It’s God’s way of thinning the herd!” Wow! Just…wow.
But don’t worry, Kelly also added some helpful hints for staying safe during the pandemic. “If you are vulnerable or compromised stay inside; if you don’t, protect others by wearing masks and gloves keep your distance! And don’t go out if you are ill!”
Well, obviously Kelly wasn’t sorry enough to stop making more unfeeling remarks.

Cameran Eubanks has the best gig in reality TV. She gets all of the perks of being a public figure without the drawbacks of actually divulging information about her personal life. She just makes snarky comments and doles out sage advice to the men on Southern Charm, always coming out unscathed as a reality TV star.
I would never give up that gig, but, apparently, Cam will not be around next season. Perhaps, she was being sarcastic when she shared this, but, at the moment, it is very unclear.
The Instagram account Comments by Bravo shared a screenshot of the comment section on one of Cameran’s social media posts. A fan wrote “Missing the show! When are you returning?”
In response, Cam wrote, “I will not be returning.” Damn. Just like that. No sappy, long Instagram post announcing her reality TV retirement, just a quick comment on another post. But, then again, they are not usually allowed to confirm casting decisions until a season is wrapped and the network has started promoting it.
But, she was at BravoCon in November, commenting on what she hopes to see next season on the show. This can’t be true, right? Or, maybe, she was just commenting from the perspective of a viewer.
Did Cameran quit because she’s tired of the nonsense and doesn’t need the money? Did she get fired for never really having a storyline? What happened? Or maybe she’s just joking and she will be on the show next season, after all.
Only time will tell.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to know how much Kara Keough and her family have been going through in the past few weeks. Her newborn son died in response to a complication during childbirth. Her father, Matt Keough, passed away just a few weeks later.
Kara’s mom, Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Jeana Keough says Kara has been working through her loss by reaching out to others who have been in similar situations. She has been very open about her pain on social media. Recently, she spoke out in an interview.
Yesterday, Kara appeared on Good Morning America. Entertainment Tonight reported that Kara shared, “We got some milestones we didn’t think we’d get. We got to change his diaper. I got to get peed on, which is a boy-mom thing I didn’t think I’d ever get. We got to hold him, we got to feel warmth in his body.”
She also talked about how her daughter Decker got to play with her little brother. Kara shared, “She got to sing to him and play ‘This Little Piggy’ on his fingers.”
The outlet reports that Kara wishes she knew how big her baby was before giving birth and wonders if things might have been different if she had an ultrasound prior to giving birth. She gave birth at home in Jacksonville, Florida because she felt it was safer than going to the hospital during the coronavirus pandemic.
Kara commented, “How do you hide an 11-pound baby? I will sit here and regret not getting [another ultrasound] for the rest of my life, because I’ll think, ‘Maybe we would’ve known. Maybe they would’ve seen that he had 7½-inch shoulders. But that’s just going to be [in] my head.”
This is not her fault by any means. It is natural for anyone to look back and think “what if we did this,” but this is not her fault at all. We are all in unchartered water with the coronavirus pandemic as well. There is just so much to take into account with such a delicate situation.
After Kara had birthing complications, she went to the hospital via ambulance and baby McCoy’s heart started beating again. Kara commented, “He came back to fight, to see if he could live, and it was a miracle.”
Kara revealed, “I’ve been lucky to hear from parents that are on the other side of it, or as far on the other side as you can be, and they say it gets better. They say eventually the waves of grief don’t feel like they’re knocking you over every day, and that you have to just get through it — but that you aren’t alone.”
She certainly isn’t alone. She has a strong support system and a lot of people who love her. This great loss is heartbreaking and it’s amazing that she has been so open and honest as she grieves.
