Brett Ratner is back in the spotlight after posting about his new documentary on First Lady Melania Trump. The post comes as Ratner’s film, Melania: 20 Days to History, continues to generate headlines. The documentary follows Donald Trump‘s wife in the weeks leading up to the January 2025 inauguration.

Brett Ratner teases new chapters of Melania documentary

Brett Ratner recently took to Instagram to share that his newest film is moving forward with a second installment. The caption ran over an image of him whispering to the president at a formal gathering.

“I’m explaining to [Donald Trump] that even I can’t take credit for making Melania look that good! Here we go again…. The saga continues,” it read. “Can’t wait to share with everyone around the world the next two chapters of Melania: The Docuseries.”

The documentary generated plenty of buzz during production and after its release earlier this year. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, it was an expensive bet for Amazon. Amazon MGM Studios spent $40 million to acquire the rights and reportedly put another $35 million into marketing. Despite that, the film only brought in around $16.3 million during its five-week theatrical run.

The shortfall seems bad, but there’s reasoning behind it. Melania is currently the top-grossing documentary of 2026 by a large margin. Pulling in $16 million is rare for a non-fiction film that actually gets a theatrical release.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos made that case himself back in May, noting that the film “did very well in theaters” and has “done very well on streaming,” making it a “very wise business decision.” Detractors, however, don’t view the losses as a misstep.

Jimmy Kimmel described it as a “$75 million bribe” to get on Donald Trump’s good side. Senator Elizabeth Warren agreed, calling it blatant bribery and arguing that the sum may put Amazon at risk under federal anti-bribery law, as per Variety.

Elsie Hewitt gave fans a glimpse into her life as a mom, while her concert outing highlighted her co-parenting relationship with Pete Davidson.

The model attended an Olivia Dean concert at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, August 18, and shared a carousel of photos and videos from the night. Hewitt danced through a shower of confetti and sang along to Dean’s songs with a friend.

One milestone involving her 8-month-old daughter, Scottie Rose, made the night meaningful.

“Scottie crawled for the first time to this song. We dance to Olivia Dean every day,” Hewitt wrote alongside the photos. She called Dean’s music “our album” and said the singer’s songs had stayed with her through “every up and down this year.”

Hewitt then added a thank-you to Davidson, referring to him as her “baby daddy” and crediting him for the concert tickets.

The post offered a glimpse at the friendly dynamic Hewitt and Davidson have worked toward since ending their relationship. The former couple welcomed Scottie in December 2025 after first becoming romantically linked in March of that year. They announced their pregnancy four months later.

Hewitt and Davidson split in May, with reports at the time suggesting they hoped to eventually remain friends while navigating co-parenting. By July, the pair reached a joint agreement regarding their daughter and emphasized that Scottie’s well-being remained their priority.

Their recent approach appeared different from the tension surrounding their breakup. Hewitt continued sharing milestones from Scottie’s first year, including her first swimming lesson and her seven-month milestone.

Hewitt also spoke openly about motherhood in a February essay for Elle, explaining why she chose not to breastfeed. She said the decision helped her remain more present while allowing Davidson to share feeding responsibilities.

Meanwhile, her concert post showed a relaxed side of motherhood as she celebrated a milestone connected to a song Scottie loves. Hewitt’s “baby daddy” shout-out also suggested that she and Davidson had found a cooperative rhythm as parents.
