Sierra Dawn Thomas was the latest casualty to be sent to the Survivor: Game Changers jury, who was made to be a victim after her closest ally, Brad Culpepper, won Immunity this past episode.
Sierra was one of the few “head-scratchers” when this season began, as in, why is she on a season called “Game Changers”? She had made it pretty far on her original season, Survivor: Worlds Apart (Season 30), finishing in fifth place overall, but she didn’t do much strategically. She was likable enough – which was the main reason she was voted out when she was that season – but didn’t really do anything to leave a lasting imprint on the game (as reported by EW.com, Sierra was actually an alternate to Survivor: San Juan del Sur winner, Natalie Anderson, who backed out at the last minute).
But this time out, Sierra was a major player, having set out to prove herself. She was in power for a good stretch of the game, working alongside Brad Culpepper, but her game was up-ended by Sarah when she blindsided Deb a few episodes back. Sierra had built a strong personal relationship with Sarah, as was evident when Sierra willed Sarah her “Legacy Advantage” that she discovered back on Day One. Little did Sierra know that Sarah leaked her knowledge of this Legacy Advantage to Michaela, which ultimately led to Sierra getting voted out.
Sierra went down swinging, to the extent that she continued working angles right down to the end. I had a chance to chat with Sierra Dawn Thomas today, the day after her vote-out episode aired. The full interview can be heard in the latest episode of the FilmSurvivor Podcast (below), but here are some highlights for those of you that prefer the written word:
SIERRA INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS:
On if she was surprised to be included on a season called “Game Changers”:
Sierra Dawn Thomas: Just being called to go, I questioned it. And when I got out there and found out what the theme of the season was, I was terrified. Like is this defining me or is this defining the game? Because I didn’t feel like I was a game changer my first season, but I was excited to show people that I might be. I was ready to go in and surprise myself.
On the biggest regret she has in the game:
Sierra: I mean, pretty much helping Sarah dig my grave and telling her about my secret advantage and how if I were to go home I’d give it to her. That’s pretty much by biggest regret.
On how big a factor telling Sarah about her “Legacy Advantage” played in her ultimately getting voted out:
Sierra: I think I was a target, but I do feel like I could have plead my case to Michaela that it should be Andrea, and it would have been Andrea. This would have brought Tai to vote for Andrea and I really, truly, genuinely think that Andrea would have went home if I wouldn’t have told Sarah and she wouldn’t have told Michaela and all of that jazz.
On if she knew about Tai’s two Idols or Troyzan’s one Idol while in the game:
Sierra: Not for a second, and it makes me mad! I feel like, obviously other people are good at keeping their mouth shut and I’m not, because I spilled my beans (laughs). But I feel like we could have done something really great. When there’s numbers like that, that’s how you re-take over the numbers. I feel like if we would have known about it, at least about Troyzan’s, he could have let me and Brad know and we could have really made a big move and it would have made Troyzan look great because it was his Idol. You know what I mean? I feel like we could have done stuff, but they were just keeping their mouths closed, which is obviously smart, I can’t talk about that too much (laughs).

I never expected to see Alex McCord back on Bravo, but I was so there for her resurgence on Watch What Happens Live last week. I feel like absence made the heart grow fonder because I didn’t even realize I missed her.
Now everyone wants to know what Alex thinks of her former Real Housewives of New York costars now that she’s had some time away from the crew. After all, she and Simon van Kempen are still together after many seasons of criticism from the cast and viewers while Bethenny Frankel and Ramona Singer have gone through some pretty public divorces.

Alex opened up in an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast. She was asked about her secret to making her marriage work – especially in comparison to the other RHONY couples – and her answer made a lot of sense: “Our marriage secret is, first of all, we came into it as equals which not everyone else did. Second, our priority is always each other. We were here first before the show and anything else. We always choose each other over whatever else is happening and I think that’s the secret.” Props to them.
In regard to Bethenny and Ramona’s breakups, Alex admitted, “It’s always sad to see marriages fall apart. Again, you’ve got to go into it as equals and I don’t think that was necessarily the case with Bethenny and Jason [Hoppy]. With Ramona and Mario [Singer], that just made me sad because I like them both. I don’t know everything that happened in that, but I hope that they can put the bad stuff behind them and find ways to keep on living life.”

Of course everyone wants to know who Alex is still in touch with from the cast. She shared, “I still talk to Jill [Zarin] and not about the show because we were killing each other on the show. We talk about kids and dogs and stuff. I talk to Ramona and Sonja occasionally and Andy occasionally. That’s about it.”
Alex was also asked to make the choice between two torturous (yet iconic) RHONY vacation: Scary Island and Morocco. Alex recalled, “Scary Island was actually really really funny until it wasn’t and suddenly we all were concerned for Kelly [Bensimon]. I think that was anxiety gone mad. I don’t think there was anything really nefarious happening. I think that just Kelly’s threshold for being uncomfortable is different from everyone else’s. Morocco was just mean. Scary Island wasn’t mean. Scary Island was just crazy. Between scary and mean, I’ll talk scary everyday.” Me too… not that I was even on that trip, but the vacation made for some legendary television.

Quick, what comes to mind when you read the word "Unbreakable"? Is it Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Good. E! News spent time with Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt stars Ellie Kemper and...I am always amused when Real Housewives stars from different cities interact with each other. I especially love it when the interaction is a little bit controversial. I can’t help being into the drama. I just never expected anything to go down between Carole Radziwill and Yolanda Hadid.
Yolanda seems so past the Housewives life and Carole doesn’t really use social media for non-political purposes. Nevertheless, Radzi stepped up to defend her man Adam Kenworthy in response to one of Yolanda’ Instagram posts.

Unfortunately the situation wasn’t super juicy. It’s not like Yolanda put up a photo of Adam for a #MCM post. Instead, Yolanda shared a photo of some spring foliage, which she obviously stole from Adam’s account. Yolanda wrote, “I am loving the beauty of New York springtime. #NewYork #Spring #NewLife” along with her post.
There was no photo credit for Adam or any mention that it wasn’t actually her photo.
Adam posted the exact same photo before Yolanda did with “Spring #NYC” in the caption.

Carole wasn’t going to let that fly. She came to Adam’s defense, commenting on Yolanda‘s post, “What up Yo? @adamkenworthy took that photo. You should at least credit him.” And of course, that comment included some angry emojis.
This wasn’t nearly as interesting as the drama on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or Real Housewives of New York, but I have to admit that it did make me laugh. Why would a public person steal someone else’s photo – of a flower, no less – and pretend that it’s hers? This is so dumb, but hilarious nonetheless. Plus it was stupid for Yolanda to take a photo from someone else associated with the Real Housewives franchise. Obviously there is some fan crossover there.

It's time to play the waiting game. While CBS renewed 18 of its shows, ABC picked up the TGIT line-up and NBC handed out a huge two-season renewal to This Is Us, not every broadcast...
The final scene of tonight's Riverdale finale is so big, not even the majority of the cast knew what was going on. "They kept it so top secret, even from the cast and crew, that...I get it: it’s so easy to hate on James Kennedy, but he really is entertaining. I don’t know how I would feel if we were a part of the same friend group, but as a viewer who (sadly) doesn’t get to hang out with the cast, I am always laughing whenever he’s on screen. Still, I totally understand why he’s a polarizing figure on Vanderpump Rules. We need that though to keep the show interesting.
I’m sure Kristen Doute would disagree with me on that and I don’t blame her. James has been dragging his ex (and the reason he is even on this show) every single chance he gets. He even admitted at the last reunion that he used Kristen to become a cast member. We all saw that throughout the course of their relationship, but it was just pretty cringe-worthy to watch him say out loud.

James talked even more shit about Kristen in his interview with Olivia Caridi for her Mouthing Off podcast.
Without any hesitation, James declared, “Kristen used me as much as I used her. I said that on the reunion because I just wanted to get everyone’s bubbles riled up.”
James continued to lay into Kristen: “Without me, she wouldn’t have had a story line that year. No one liked her. No one was her friend and the second we broke up, it took two days for Jax [Taylor] to say ‘Let’s go kickboxing together.’ Jax took me aside and said, ‘We’re not going to leave her in the mud. We can’t leave her behind. She’s one of the OG cast [members].’ So I was like, ‘Okay. I feel that. Whatever. F-ck you, Jax,’ and I just walked off.”
James concluded, “It’s funny how things work. As much as you can be hated, if you have nothing left, you can technically be invited back into the circle of doom.” I’ll never truly understand the relationship boundaries on this show, but this cast is full of some of the most forgiving people I’ve ever seen. These people have really come back from some pretty outrageous behavior to be best friends again.
Olivia asked, “Is there anything about your relationship with Kristen that you miss?” James said, “The free gifts and the breakfast in bed.” Wow.

Olivia wondered, “Who do you like on the show?” James said, “Everyone… except Kristen and Katie [Maloney]. I don’t like Katie very much. I just think Katie always looks like she smells a fart and I hate her fashion sense. She dresses so horribly. And then Kristen, I don’t like her because she’s my ex girlfriend.” Katie’s reunion outfit came up again later in the interview and James said, “Did you see her reunion dress? It looked like someone ripped it from the side.” Who knew that James was such a fashionista?
Who does James actually like on the show? He said, “I like [Tom] Schwartz.” Who doesn’t like Schwartz? He seems like the nicest guy on the planet and he’s hilarious. He said, “I like Jax.” For the record, I am so on board for Jax and James bromance after their hilarious interactions during the reunion. I think it would provide some hilarious scenes. He added, “I love Scheana [Marie]. I love Ariana [Madix]. I love LaLa [Kent]. I like Lisa Vanderpump too.”
Of course James likes Lisa. She changed his life with this show, but Olivia couldn’t help point out the obvious: “You kind of bit the hand that fed you a couple of times.” He commented, “I could never be mean to Lisa. A little bit disrespectful – [I] did bite the hand that fed me.” Yeah, he definitely did. Luckily for him, he’s good friends with Lisa’s son Max Todd.
James even said, “We’re good. It’s funny. I actually hang out with Lisa more than any of the other cast members I think. I see her at Pump all the time. I have dinner with her and Max all the time. It’s like Sunday dinners, I’ll be invited sometimes and I’m sure she’s not inviting Jax.” I wish she did though – and had the Vanderpump Rules camera crew along to film the meal because Lisa and Jax scenes are usually hysterical.

I guess that’s what happens when Carole’s life is relatively drama free and she isn’t fighting with anyone on the show: she gets asked about the person who is annoying the cast members the most these days.

I feel like Carole is too normal and level-headed for the Real Housewives of New York, so I don’t get why she is still on the show. Like I said, every single question she was asked was Ramona-centered, so clearly there is not a ton of intrigue around Carole and her army of pets named Baby.
The one question that had to do with Carole was about her couch. Andy Cohen asked, “What’s happening with that couch?” Carole shared, “The couch is now out of my apartment and it’s being recovered, but not in that famous tiger fabric.” Apparently the piece of furniture has drawn some interest with the fandom – not from any of my friends who watch, but I guess some people care.
Andy asked Carole about Ramona being confrontational when it comes to her feud with Bethenny Frankel. Carole explained, “She prepares what she is going to say,” and she added, “She has this script going on in her head and it’s no relation to what’s going on in real life.”
A viewer called in to ask Carole about her story line this season… Just kidding. it was another query about Ramona. The fan wondered “why Ramona can’t realize that Bethenny is pissed off because she brought up her six-year-old daughter. ” Carole said, “That’s a good question and none of us can understand why she doesn’t understand that as well. I think she was trying to poke Bethenny and shame her a little.” Pretty much.
Why wasn’t Ramona in the club house? All roads led to Ramona. Carole was asked, “Do you regret not inviting Ramona to your party on election night?” Of course, Carole said, “No, I don’t. She wasn’t interested at all.” Clearly.
To wrap up Ramona Fest 2K17, Carole was asked, “Has Ramona had any plastic surgery?” Even though there is definitely something different about Ramona’s appearance this season, Carole answered, “I don’t think she has.” We learned nothing new about Carole and I’m shocked that Ramona didn’t tweet Andy with some rebuttals since the entire episode was focused on her.

Ramona Singer seems like the type of chick who probably flirted her way into a slew of prom-posals back in high school, only to publicly reject every single one of them in front of the entire cafeteria. Much hasn’t changed since then, as Ramona chastises Luann de Lesseps on this week’s Real Housewives Of New York for not inviting her to her wedding – even though she wouldn’t have gone anyway! Exhausted with Ramona’s hyper speed begging/insulting, Luann just sighs, knowing she made the right decision to ban nearly the entire whack pack from her nuptials to Tom D’Agostino.
Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel navigates some murky drama involving ex-husband Jason Hoppy – and continues her feud with Ramona. Carole Radziwill buys an apartment for encourages Adam to move out, and Dorinda Medley commemorates her late husband, Richard. All is not copacetic in Sonja Morgan and Tinsley Mortimer’s gothic landscape of doom, as Sonja begins to take out her frustrations on the younger, slightly less tragic version of herself. But Tinsley, for one, ain’t having it!

After a quick tour of the better behaved members of RHONY’s cast (the housewives’ animals), we open with Bethenny and Sonja meeting for lunch. Sonja gives Bethenny the deets on her latest goals, which include purging her house AND holding her tongue on all the smack talk about Dorinda to the press. In a lucid moment, Sonja tells Bethenny she thinks Ramona is clueless about how she crossed the line bringing Bethenny’s daughter into her line of porn questioning.
Sonja is also on the prowl for a good man (even though she has 2?), but is hesitant to broadcast news of her paramours lest they be snapped up by one of her so-called friends! And thus, Sonja is dubbed the “curator of c*ck” by Bethenny. Let it be written. Let it be hashtagged.
In the Berkshires, Dorinda is observing the 5-year memorial of her late husband, Richard’s, death. She and her loved ones gather at Richard’s grave to commemorate his life and honor his memory. Carole attends as well to support Dorinda; since London, their bond as widows continues and seems fairly authentic, no? Dorinda’s daughter, Hannah, wears Richard’s jacket in tribute, and Dorinda notes that Hannah’s bond with her stepfather was and is very special.
Hannah reads a letter she wrote in honor of her stepdad, which is sweet and sad. Dorinda tells Richard she’s a different person now, but he will be forever in her thoughts. She doesn’t see herself as a widow anymore though; she’s just “Mrs. Medley.” (She’s also a badass b*tch who has “files” on people, which makes her kind of the best addition this show has ever had.)
In her apartment, Bethenny is cleaning Brynn’s room and thinking about buying a new apartment – something bigger, of course. In homage to her forthcoming crossover with Million Dollar Listing’s Fredrick Eklund, Bethenny also claims she’s recently gotten the “real estate bug.”
Back in the Berkshires, Dorinda, her family, and Carole get to know one another over lunch at home. Dorinda notes that this 5-year mark is a turning point. Hannah’s ready to move out, and Dorinda’s ready to be free. Carole’s ready to hear about a thousand stories about Richard, admitting she’s basically obsessed with him. As Dorinda and Carole tour the grounds, Dorinda obliges her guest with more tales.
Ladies and gentlemen, step carefully, if you dare, into the crumbling castle of Lady Morgan, where puppies release their bowels freely on the throw rugs and Sonja blames all of her problems on whoever’s living in her tattered spare room! Sonja and Tinsley muck around in the kitchen over wine, with Sonja low-key b*tching about Tinsley’s houseguest manners. Just because Tinsley is too snooty to throw some brown ice in her cocktail (WTF SONJA!!?!?), Sonja decides her tenant needs an attitude adjustment. As Sonja dumps her curdled ice down the drain which is likely clogged beyond repair Tinsley escapes to the rooftop to send up a flare for help. 1-800-F-R-E-E-T-I-N-S!
It’s that time in the programming to focus on Luann’s wedding because – THAT’S THE ONLY STORYLINE GOING ON THIS YEAR. Sigh. Luann invites Dorinda and close friends and family to take a sneak peek at her wedding dress, which is elegant, simple, and looks gorgeous on Lu. She’s giddy as she places her “split veil” atop her head, thrilled that she gets to wear a white wedding dress. Who gives a flying fig if it took a little longer than planned to get there?
Speaking of not giving a flying fig, I have three words for you: Anisha’s Dog Jeep. Just in case we can’t relate to the ladies of means in NYC, we’re given a glimpse into what happens when one spends too long on the wrong side of a Birkin bag. Anisha, Tinsley’s old friend, takes a walk with her through the streets of Manhattan as she radio-controls her dog’s jeep through throngs of hapless pedestrians. To add to the absurdity, there’s an Elf on the Shelf chillin in back.
Anisha’s all, “The Upper East Side is dead!” as she encourages Tinsley to move (downtown?) near her, meanwhile ramming poor Fido into some poor schmuck’s shins. Then she hands the car remote to Tinsley, who will now be the one to get full on punched in the neck for doing this stupid sh*t on the street.
Thoughts on Tinsley’s predicament: Jumping from the frying Sonja into the Anisha pan is a NO GO, girl. Pump the brakes on that dog jeep before every rung on the social ladder not only breaks, but potentially disintegrates under your freshly manicured toes! If Bravo has been taking a page out of Jane Austen’s “Love & Friendship,” then I applaud them. But since this is technically unscripted TV, I sit in awe at how the stars have aligned to bring us this wandering-socialite-with-a-heart-of-gold thesis straight out of nowhere. I may be alone weirdly in loving this Tinsley comi-tragedy, but I just DO!
At Carole’s apartment, Bethenny listens as she bemoans her relationship with Adam. She wants him to move out, and has even maybe/sorta found him a crash pad just five convenient blocks away! She’s like, “It’s not OUR apartment together. It’s MY apartment.” So, shacking up is not panning out to be as hip and groovy as she expected, eh? Plus, she and Adam have been together for two years and don’t have plans of getting married, so Carole’s thinking, “Now what?”
Bethenny confesses that her Thanksgiving was stressful. She’s dealing with some “nastiness” with her ex, which she says has escalated lately. Carole says she’s witnessed “behavior that’s beyond bizarre” from Jason, but is gag ordered doesn’t expand on the details. Telling Carole she’s exhausted, Bethenny wills herself to get to the root of the issue and “exterminate” the problem. Yikes!
Time to enter the RamonaZone. At her apartment, Ramona calls Dorinda to thank her for her surprise party, then to b*tch about Bethenny not attending it. They still haven’t spoken, but will see each other over drinks soon where all of the ladies will be in attendance to throw DOWN. For her part, Bethenny just wants Ramona to leave her alone. She doesn’t want apologies, she doesn’t want “that whole distorted wack job face” coming at her with explanations. She just wants a Ramona-free existence.
Ah, but Bethenny: You are on a show with her. (Remember that contract?) That distorted wack job face is gonna be standing next to you at step and repeats for the rest of your life if you’ve chosen to play this Housewives game. Which, by the way, you have.
At drinks, Dorinda hopes that by bringing the entire group together again, they can mend fences. Bwahahahaha! Okay, we’ll play along. After the group assembles and mild pleasantries are exchanged, Ramona decides to break the ice by interrogating Luann about why she’s not invited to her wedding?! She’s already bizarrely bought her plane ticket! Luann’s like, “I thought you were going to France?” Ramona’s all, “But you could still send an invitation!” So, she wouldn’t go if she were invited, but would like an invitation to stab voodoo doll pins into anyway. This is exactly why Ramona is not invited, notes Luann.
Why Ramona is not invited may also have something to do with her incessant questioning of Tom’s intentions. She actually snarks that “People are still taking bets on whether the wedding’s going to be on or not!” – which is precisely the exploding diarrhea of the mouth Luann does NOT want near her big day. Mouth agape, Luann can only bitterly chuckle at the Problem Of Ramona, which nobody will ever, ever, ever solve.
Clueless even after the entire group calls her out on her insanity, Ramona just chirps that she’s telling everyone that the wedding IS on despite the haters out there! SHE certainly isn’t a naysayer. No, no, no. She’s just “kidding.” Luann’s like, be gone with you, uninvited vermin! I shall get married in the sweet smell of Ramona-free air! “She’s like a bookie on Luann’s wedding,” notes Bethenny, who is now awaiting her turn on to be on the business end of the Rambling Ruminations of Ramona.
But before that mess can go down, Sonja and Tinsley arrive – Sonja snarking that she’s just “tagging along” to cavort with Tinsley’s new friends. Oh, Sonja. Jealousy is not a good look on you this season – or ever. Nor is farting the joint up (again, WTF, Sonja?!?!). As Tinsley lies tells Carole that she’s having a great time living with Sonja (despite their constant bickering), Carole offers up one of the two apartments in her building available at the moment. Tinsley is excited about the possibility, and now that she’s friends with the president of the board herself, she may just take Carole up on the offer! Cue Sonja’s head exploding in T-minus however long it takes for her to hear this news.
After photos of Baby, Baby, and Baby are shared, Carole gets into a convo with Tinsley and Bethenny. Tinsley takes a walk down memory lane, which involves getting marriage inspiration from 90210 (the OG installment) and questionable tattoos. Bethenny seems to warm up to Tinsley, likely to Tinsley’s great relief.
But back at the bar, Luann and Ramona fear that Bethenny may not bounce back from their last dinner together, at which they dually called her a witch and wicked. Um, Magic 8 Ball reads: Outlook Poor. But Ramona wants to poke that bear, so she sidles over to have a one on one with Bethenny. She awkwardly begins (is there any other way with this chick?) by giving Bethenny a brain-on-Pinot hypothetical: “Like when someone has a bad time in their life, like, do you like to be there for them?” Bethenny’s face reads: I AM PLANNING YOUR MURDER IN MY HEAD. But instead she just deadpans, “I don’t like the way you’re speaking to me right now.”
Ramona thinks Bethenny is being weird, considering how she only acted out of “concern” when she asked her about whether her six-year old had heard about her boobs on film. She also thinks she’s speaking very normally. But if she thinks that, Bethenny bites back, “You might not really be very self aware.” Disappointed in not getting her way Bethenny’s cold response, Ramona reminds Bethenny that she’s always been there for her, which Bethenny says she has also done for Ramona.
But this little circle jerk isn’t going anywhere, so Bethenny just peaces out, leaving Ramona behind to complain about her. Carole notes that “the famous Singer Stinger” might have a little something to do with their issue too. But Ramona, ever delusional about her severe, almost clinically diagnosable lack of social skills, just celebrates her enormous heart and her “best” friends! Like Tinsley, for example. Who she met three weeks ago.
TELL US: SHOULD BETHENNY FORGIVE RAMONA? IS LUANN RIGHT FOR NOT INVITING ANYONE BUT DORINDA TO HER WEDDING? IS SONJA BEING UNFAIR TO TINSLEY – AND WHERE SHOULD TINSLEY GO?
