On last night’s Below Deck hair-brained deckhand Abbi Murphy up and left to sail off into her future. Actually it was more like she got dropped off at a random dock somewhere outside of Phuket with a “good luck” from Captain Lee Rosbach. Don’t double-cross this guy!
Mid-Charter Abbi starts having some sort of breakdown over the slide. Which has destroyed the soul of many a deckhand. At that moment, as if her massive red hair parted to reveal a message of clarity: it was time to leave Valor.
Ashton Pienaar is shocked, but probably also relieved. Babysitting Abbi all day was interfering with his ability to manage the rest of his team, but alas, they’ll be down a deckhand on a massive boat. Captain Lee is about the only one who seems upset, mainly because he envisions himself some sort of high seas professional development coach who can whip anyone and everyone into a yachtie.
Abbi agrees to finish off the charter, then get dropped off at the nearest port following the guests’ departure. Then Captain Lee hops on the phone to Replacements Arrrrrgh Us, Matey, to find a former Below Deck cast member who’s been sitting around as the understudy waiting for someone to bounce. The preview indicates it’s someone Ashton already knows. My money would be on Rhylee Gerber, although she recently made some really mean comments about Lee, but Bravo definitely kept any spoilers under wraps for once!
Meanwhile, Tanner Sterback is on his deathbed. Literally. Abbi is complaining about how it’s too much work to change a t-shirt, but Tanner is violently ill right before hopping on a tender to chaperone guests at some sort of floating water park. Think Bounce It Out in the ocean. Poor Tanner. This guy is a trooper! By the time he makes it back to Valor, he literally can’t stop vomiting and Ashton sends him to his room to recuperate. With Abbi moping around, crying, that leaves Ashton and Brian de Saint Per to handle basically all the deck responsibilities.
These guests were actually fun and easy to deal with. For their final dinner party, they requested a sort of rave party. And Captain Lee is King of the Glow Sticks. Kate Chastain has Courtney Skippon paint Ashton and Brian with day-glo body paint to serve dessert. Truly Kate just wanted a side-by-side comparison of abs. Brian wins for Best Penis Ravine in the Working Group for small-to-medium sized breeds. Kate warns Courtney that if she doesn’t jump into that ravine and go for a swim, Kate just might…
To amp up the ‘magic mushroom’ theme, Kate also makes this really bizarro cocktail of vodka, lemonade and actual mushrooms served out of buckets with mile-long straws. These guests are game for anything – even that, and even as it turns out – beef tongue! Knowing that he seriously needs to redeem himself Kevin Dobson decided to try the personality of a nice and humble guy who just really loves to cook. Captain Lee is once again joining the guests for dinner and this time he better get a main course. Perhaps Kevin was signaling that Captain Lee should bite his tongue about Kevin’s skills by serving a fillet of tongue on a cracker?
At first, the guests are dubious but these open-minded (re: drunk) party girls ended up loving it. “Who doesn’t like tongue,” the primary cheered. And just like that Lee went from tongue lashing to tongue-tied, and Kevin is back in his good graces.
Sometimes Kevin does show glimmers of good guy-ness, like when he volunteered to help the deck crew haul the lines in as Abbi was packing for her send-off. Kevin actually did a good job, and it seems like the deck crew likes him. However, the stews see a very different side of him. Ego vs. Id, the Kevin Dobson Story!
Speaking of, Simone Mashile is so tired of laundry. She thought she was being a team player by agreeing to compensate for Courtney’s shortcomings, but now all Simone does is laundry. Meanwhile, 3rd stew Courtney gets the more exalted position of serving guests. The bottom line is that Simone cannot mix even the simplest of drinks whereas Courtney is practically a professional bartender. So Courtney is also making up for Simone’s shortcomings.
All this time above ground, out of the laundry cave, also gives Courtney plenty of time to flirt with Brian. Courtney insists his ravine has nothing to do with her attractions. In fact, she barely noticed until his personality came busting through. I actually find Courtney’s dismissive arrogance hilarious, and good for her for acting like the chaperone at the school dance with this crew.
The next morning as the guests prepare for departure, Kate realizes Tanner still hasn’t resurfaced. She notifies Captain Lee that he’s seriously ill and to call a doctor on board. Wouldn’t that be Ashton’s responsibility? Apparently not.
Then it’s time to say goodbye to Abbi and the guests. Abbi declares that she’s a person who does what she wants and follows her passion, even if she hasn’t exactly thought through the consequences. Like realizing after resigning that she has no idea how she will get from Thailand back to Greece. Abbi was literally dropped off somewhere and told to fend for herself. We know from Instagram she made it out alive, but who knows how… (Do we want to? Did Patrik sail down to pick her up?)
When the doctor arrives, Tanner is diagnosed with some sort of bizarre Thai flu. The doctor who treats Tanner is far more effective than the one who showed up for that wasted charter guest Brandy. Tanner is given a shot to kill the bacterial infection and told to stay in bed to rest. He starts feeling better immediately and is bummed about missing the crew night out. I mean, he’s already puking his guts out so why not party!? Simone wishes she could stay home to nurse him back to health, but if she stayed on board she’d probably just get locked in the laundry so better to flee while Cinderella has the chance.
Before everyone hits the town, Brian takes Courtney out on a date in the tender. Courtney wears a sensible one-piece bathing suit in Baywatch red and rejects any possible advances until he lets her drive the boat back to Valor. It turns out Courtney can’t even drive a car and her ambition in life is truly to be Lady Mary of Downton Abbey. Here she is playing out her fantasies of having an affair with the chauffeur. It’s so BBC!
Courtney’s dad was in finance and her mom never worked, so her dabbling with Brian truly does seem like some sort of ‘roughing it with the help’ rebellion – just like scrubbing toilets on a yacht does. I’m kind of into this storyline, only because Courtney has dialed down her brattiness and is witty about her situation. Let’s be honest there’s no way Courtney and Brian will make it post-show, but it’s fun pretending!
That night Ashton gets irascibly drunk. He’s bitter and jealous that Courtney puts him in the same category she places Velveeta Cheese plus he’s desperate to get laid. Ashton is such a sweet guy, then he drinks, and it’s just disgusting. It’s not that he’s an asshole so much as an absolute unrepentant, standard-less, horn dog.
They all go to this bar called Library or something where there are all these books on the wall and super loud club music. Kate does her one or two dance steps, then practically whips out her spectacles to try and read some of these tomes when Ashton wanders over and literally tongue rapes her. Kate is traumatized, but also intrigued. Research people! They are in a library after all. After deducing that this particular experiment was a fail, Kate decides it’s time to change her control group by heading home to her Cheetos and her iPad where a rousing episode of Poldark can take her away.
The whole thing was really Brain’s fault. To distract Ashton from trying to flirt with Courtney, he suggested Ashton hit on Kate. It was genius because while Ashton was embarrassing the hell out of himself, Brian leaned over and gently kissed Courtney on the lips. Courtney’s tongue remained clamped shut tighter than the neckline of her mom maxi, but he did manage to lick her filthy feet as they sat in the taxi back to the boat. How truly and honestly apt.
Back on board, Brian goes to bed while Courtney convinces Ashton to make her grilled cheese sandwiches, which she primly eats while observing his attempts to woo her with his words. This is the real amusement for her. Worth every moment in the loud, unseemly club with the blaring lights. Here Courtney is an anthropologist, watching the lower classes from among them. She is practically a WASP Jane Goodall infiltrating the servants! In order to make this a success though, Courtney has to keep Kate convinced of her inability to iron (that’s obviously not an act, though…).
After witnessing Ashton make a fool himself by dipping sandwiches in BBQ sauce and confusing “mature” with “old” to praise her composure, Courtney swans off to bed. Ashton vents his frustrations to Kevin about how all the girls onboard are prudes. Maybe it’s you, dude!

It wasn’t exactly shocking when Abbi Murphy left Below Deck. She just got engaged via text message. She wasn’t exactly a quick study when it came to the deckhand tasks. And she probably started to run out of hair ties.
It was rough timing when she quit though. Tanner Sterback was in bed with a stomach bug for days and it was just Ashton Pienaar and Brian de Saint Per on deck. Abbi offered to stick it out until Tanner was feeling better, but Captain Lee Rosbach wasn’t having it. He gave Abbi her passport and she left the boat. That wasn’t the end of it though. Thank you, Twitter.
Seasoned Below Deck viewers know how much Captain Lee loves live-tweeting the episodes. Of course, he shared his thoughts on Abbi’s early departure. Three minutes into last night’s episode, he wrote “And we are on the air. Who’s in? So Abbi, you can’t be professional, or live up to high standards?”
Abbi told the captain, “I had to be professional working for the Governor, working in law, where I was taken seriously and loved what I was doing. I just wasn’t cut out for that type of yachting. First try so I didn’t know until I was there. But thanks for the constant put-downs on twitter!”
Captain Lee clapped back with “I didn’t do that to you Abbi, you did it to yourself. You’re the one who didn’t honor their word or commitment. It was only 3 more weeks.” I could not imagine how Abbi felt when she got this notification.
Abbi tried to end the conversation with this response: “I understand if you don’t understand that the decision was good for my mental health and my future. On the boat, you were very kind and respectful to me, and I believe you’re a good guy and a good leader. All the best to you and good luck on the rest of the season!” However, the tweets continued from both of them.
In response to a fan who tweeted, “captain Lee is really dragging the girl, she tried, back off old man,” Abbi wrote, “Honestly, on the boat he treated me with respect.Gave great advice and was a nice guy. He was respectful to me over the decision. The tweets aren’t going to change that. They’re only tweets, and I think he’s actually a good guy. Wish him the best, even if that’s not reciprocated!” And it is definitely not reciprocated. Or at least that’s what it seems like on Twitter.
A fan told Captain Lee, “Really, they only show half of what is aired. Abbi learned the hard way as most do. If its not for her, then its not for her. No need for the rude remarks.” Of course, Captain Lee did not overlook that mention. He responded with, “To me, rude is leaving your crewmates in the lurch, half way through the season you committed to. That’s rude.” Damn.
Captain. Lee. Had. Time. One viewer wrote, “Time to let things go Captain.. it is her journey and if that was her decision then it was hers. Brow beating her is not looking good on your character. You want respect then it might be a good idea to show some respect also.” In response, he tweeted, “As I’ve said before Brandi, you get respect from me by earning it. You don’t get it by just being there. Sorry.”
The fans were divided on this one. Someone tweeted, “I am sad for you @AbbiMurphy9 you had the BEST Captain to gain so much knowledge and be better however you missed the best opportunity life had to offer you.” Abbi seemingly shaded Captain Lee when she wrote, “I work for a great captain now! Who is encouraging and teaches me everything he knows first-hand. I learn so much each and every day working for him, and I’m growing as a sailor. That’s the opportunity I wanted and found!”
Abbi tried to end the conversation. Again. She tweeted, “Just trying to end this. It happened so long ago at this point. We’ve all moved on and made it work. I’m happy now and I’m wishing the best for him as well!”
In response to a fan who said it “sucked” to watch Abbi quit, Abbi said, “I agree! If it was simply the fact that I had a big learning curve, I would’ve stuck it out. But I was having trouble sleeping, stress eating, questioning every move. It wasn’t good for me. I wish I didn’t feel that way! It would’ve been better for everyone.”
Abbi also debunked the image that she did not work hard on the boat by posting a screenshot of a text from a charter guest. The text said “Dude all the times you were working and we were all laughing together! None of it!! Editing is a funny thing.”
Keep your head up, Abbi. By the time next week’s episode airs, your storyline will be old news and Captain Lee will be tweeting about someone else. Most likely Chef Kevin Dobson.

Is she, or isn’t she? That’s been the question of many Vanderpump Rules fans regarding the state of Brittany Cartwright’s womb. This is what usually happens after a young couple gets married. People automatically seem to go on bump watch, searching for any change in a new bride’s waistline. If it’s a celebrity couple, a woman’s body becomes fair game – which kind of sucks when you think about it.
Brittany and her husband, Jax Taylor, definitely want children, and they have been quite vocal about their desire to conceive. According to the couple, they want kids as soon as possible. Because they are in the public eye, Brittany’s stomach is now under a microscope. Whatever she wears, whatever she drinks, or doesn’t drink, is under constant criticism. Recently rumors have been floating around that there’s a baby on board, with media outlets posting photos of Brittany in various alleged maternity frocks. Brittany has finally decided to address the gossip encompassing her circumference, and if she is or isn’t.
I admit, I have also wondered if Brittany is currently with-child. I just haven’t done it publicly. But when a couple gets married and announces they want to get pregnant on their honeymoon, are people in the wrong for being on the lookout for a pending announcement? Brittany and Jax had a roller coaster courtship that resulted in a magical mashed potato buffet wedding. They bought a beautiful home and now Brittany and Jax want babies. After certain photos of Brittany were published online, Pump Rules viewers began to wonder if she is already pregnant. She has decided to set the record straight and put the speculation to bed.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Brittany gave an update on her uterus. “I’m not pregnant now, obviously, because that’s been a rumor going around,” she said. But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the very near future. “I can’t wait to be a mom, so whenever it happens, we’ll be so excited,” Brittany shared. Jax has also said he eagerly awaits becoming a parent. This isn’t a crazy situation, several of Brittany and Jax’s co-stars are ready to breed as well.
Brit went on to say she wants rugrats “ASAP” and feels like Jax is “going to be a great dad”. Some people might scoff at the notion of Jax Taylor becoming a father, but I think he’ll be wonderful at it. Regardless of his rocky friendships or his questionable relationship history, he will probably delight in the antics of a child he created. In a previous interview, Jax admitted, “We’ve been together for four years and my whole life has been a party, so I’ve done everything I wanted to do,” he explained. Jax even said he is ready to “be part of the PTA” and a “soccer dad”. Jax probably thinks he has lived a hardcore life. Wait until he finds out there is no one more hardcore than a PTA mom who expects you to sell, sell, sell for whatever fundraiser is going on. Utterly terrifying.
You know what, I’m going to root for these two. Sure they will have to adjust to formula at 3 am instead of shots. And maybe instead of drinking vodka on the PJ, they’ll be drinking coffee in their pj’s – but they can probably handle it. Jax might even start wearing sweater vests. In any case, good luck to Jax and Brittany. Enjoy those hours of uninterrupted sleep while you can, because soon they might be a distant memory.

90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days couple Jeniffer and Timothy often seemed a mismatch. She wanted Timothy to participate in outdoor activities, while he was more content to spend the day at the spa. Jeniffer was pushing for intimacy while Timothy held off. Regardless, the two decided to continue with their long distance relationship.
Then there was the issue of Timothy’s ex Veronica, with whom he is still very close. Jeniffer was understandably concerned about the amount of influence Veronica had in Tim’s life. The two ladies had a cringeworthy video chat that proved the point. Veronica asked Jeniffer if she and Timothy had been intimate yet. Timothy also chose to give Jeniffer a ring that he first proposed to Veronica with. Yikes! That was everything we saw in Season 3. But how are these two fairing in their unconsummated, long-distance relationship? And does Veronica still insert herself into their affairs?
It turns out that Veronica is still very vocal in Tim’s life. Over the weekend she and Jeniffer got into a heated exchange on Instagram after Veronica made a dig at Jeniffer’s parenting. Reality TV blogger John Yates captured the conversation and posted it on his Instagram.
It all started when Veronica commented on a picture that Jeniffer had posted of herself after a night out. She wrote, “what are you on?? Hopefully Violet is with your momma or her dad tonight…”
Jeniffer responded, “what are u even talking about?” Veronica then back-pedaled and wrote, “just saying you look like you’re having a fun Saturday and imbibing…hope you’re being safe and having a fun night. You deserve to let loose every once in a while from one single mom to the next.”
Jeniffer then explained, “yes of course, but not tonight I’m already in my pijamas and putting my baby to sleep. Too much design work to do this next hours, but thank you for caring so much.”
Clearly, she knew that Veronica was throwing some shade. Jeniffer continued by disclosing some information about Tim babysitting Veronica’s daughter so that she could go out and party. Jeniffer wrote, “the funny part is that @el_gringo_charlotte always told me he actually helps u a lot with Chloe so u can go out and have fun, since u being thinking in that is funny that u make assumptions when u clearly know nothing about me, not that I care about them anyway.”
Veronica responded that Timothy hasn’t seen Chloe in two months, and threw a bit more shade. She wrote, “that’s funny he hasn’t seen her in 2 months. Nonetheless, if I don’t have Chloe with me I don’t take mind-altering substances (not suggesting you do, but you might wanna have a little chat with your eyes.”
Most commenters agreed that Veronica, as an ex-girlfriend, was over-stepping by commenting in the first place. Nothing has changed in this dynamic.

The Shahs of Sunset crew has had nothing but drama and bad news as of late. Former best friends, Reza Farahan and Mercedes “MJ” Javid, had a major falling out. It got so bad that Reza filed a restraining order against MJ’s husband, Tommy Feight. I don’t see that friendship being repaired in the upcoming season!
Coincidentally, there’s also a feud between Reza and Mike Shouhed. Apparently, Reza is none too pleased that his face is on one of the designs in Mike’s t-shirt line. No offense to Reza, but I don’t see a t-shirt with his face flying off shelves anytime soon. Even though it has been mostly doom and gloom, there is actually some good news to report! And it involves former Shahs cast member, Lilly Ghalichi.
Fans of Lilly know that she was living her best married life to Dara Mir. They even had a baby girl a little over a year ago. But all was not what it seemed. A couple of months ago, Dara filed for divorce from Lilly, citing irreconcilable differences.
Well, it looks like those differences were actually reconciled! Page Six reported that Lilly’s husband Dara has called off their divorce. That’s fantastic news. Although, it’s not too surprising. The couple was caught sharing a passionate kiss at their daughter’s birthday party, AKA glam carnival.
Page Six also reported Lilly’s optimistic take on her separation to Us Weekly. All that positive energy must have pulled her and Dara back together. She said, “It’s not like anything atrocious has happened between us that would result in us not being able to be friends or not being able to co-parent or whatever the future may hold for us.”
Lilly added, “I think when two people are married there is that really deep connection and deep level of love at some point that brought them to that point that got them to get married and make vows to each other.” That’s a pretty mature outlook. No wonder she’s no longer on reality TV!
Lilly had also shared plans she wanted to have another child, with or without a partner. Now that she and Dara aren’t getting divorced, they can plan that next step of that journey together. I don’t know about you, but I am rooting for them to make it work.

What are your thoughts on this season of Real Housewives of Orange County? Overall, I would say that it is a bit of an improvement over the last few seasons. Maybe it has something to do with that cast member who used to be a regular on the show and was demoted and hasn’t been on as much…what is her name again? Nicki…Ricki…Micki…oh yeah, Vicki Gunvalson!
This season’s newest cast member, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, has made quite a splash–but maybe not always in the most positive ways. Unlike last season’s freshman Housewives, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson, Braunwyn has let it all hang out. Sometimes, maybe too much. From making out with Tamra Judge to oversharing intimate details of her odd marriage, Braunwyn is assuring she doesn’t fade into the background. Recently, Braunwyn found herself being truly initiated into the group by being yelled at by another cast member–Gina. So, how does Gina really feel about Braunwyn after their tea party dust up?
Gina recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live and was asked by a caller if she regretted yelling at Braunwyn and if she still finds her annoying. Amusingly, Gina never answered if she regretted blowing up at Gina–can I take that as a no? She did, however comment on the other part of the question. Gina stated, “Oh, I definitely still find Braunwyn annoying.”
I will defer to Gina on her opinion of Braunwyn as if anyone knows annoying behavior, it is Gina. I guess it takes one to know one, Long Island Lady! Gina even recently said that Braunwyn was “trying a little too hard” as a cast member. Thirsty Gina–meet parched Braunwyn!
Does this mean that Gina doesn’t like Braunwyn? Gina shared, “I don’t think Braunwyn’s a bad person. I don’t think she’s malicious.” Except for when she is trying to give helpful advice on schools. Then she is positively venomous–how dare Braunwyn try to be compassionate, understanding and helpful.
“I think she’s really good for the cast and us as a group of friends,” Gina added. Braunwyn certainly is an interesting addition to the cast. I had her pegged as a nice, normal suburban soccer mom at the beginning of the season. Remind me to get my Housewife radar fixed–I was way off base with this one!
Gina also believes that Braunwyn challenges her, declaring, “She keeps me on my toes for sure with all the stupid stuff she says. And it’s good.” OK–I would say that is more on the aggressive side of the passive-aggressive scale, Gina.
Something tells me that Gina might not ask Braunwyn to go out on the town for a girl’s night out when not filming. Unless she is looking for a ride so she doesn’t have to Uber courtesy her DUI. It is easy to see why the two might not be simpatico. Gina can be loud, crass and blunt. Braunwyn is quieter, dances around things and doesn’t seem to want to ruffle anyone’s feathers–except, of course, for Tamra’s. Undiplomatic and overly sensitive don’t always mix so well.
Maybe Gina and Braunwyn are not destined to be best friends like Gina is with Emily. Oops–bad example! It will be interesting to see how the two interact for the rest of the season and at the reunion. Something tells me there might be more fireworks in their future.
