Yolanda Foster Discusses Lyme Disease On Dr. Oz: “It’s A Dark, Dark Journey”
Today Yolanda Foster appeared on Dr. Oz to speak out “for the first time” on her “journey” living with Chronic Neurological Lyme Disease. Yolanda opened up about the impact of doubt, how her marriage and children have been affected, why she continues to do Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills and provides more insight into her medical history and daily life living with chronic illness. She also reveals previous struggles with Epstein-Barr and Hepatitis B.
Speaking out for the first time? Dr. Oz has instagram, I presume? And access to Bravo? Dr. Oz promises this is a “side of Yolanda” we’ve never seen before. (It’s not.) Is multiple personalities a co-infection of Lyme?
“It’s been a long four years,” admits Yolanda through tears. “I keep myself motivated for my children, who I need to cure before they go on with their adult lives. It’s just gotta get done, and if it’s not me, then who’s gonna do it?” Doctors?

Dr. Oz provides CDC data which estimates at least 300,000 people are diagnosed with Lyme each year. Yolanda, her 60% brain miraculously articulate, smirks, “These numbers are just not correct.” She claims they’re much higher.
Dr. Oz describes the twists and turns of Yolanda’s life: Going from model to single mom raising three children, alone, after her divorce from Mohamed Hadid, then suddenly finding herself ill “with a mystery illness” just as married ‘My [Former] Love’, David Foster. While Gigi and Bella‘s modeling careers took off, and she appeared on Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills living the fabulous life, behind-the-scenes Yolanda’s battle for health was a shocking deviation from the portrait of “Hollywood royalty.”
Appearing in her favorite grey leisure suit, and looking amazingly refreshed for a woman who has denounced Botox and other cosmetic procedures, Yolanda describes the pain and misery she’s endured.
THE JOURNEY BEGINS:
Yolanda provided Dr. Oz with her medical records. He noticed Yolanda was hospitalized at aged 12 (she says with Epstein-Barr Virus), the first of several bouts throughout her life of hospitalization with ‘extreme fatigue’ symptoms. “Really, I’ve sort of struggled with this for my whole life,” Yolanda concedes.
Yolanda’s mother also suffered from “invisible chronic disease” during Yolanda’s childhood. “She would get severe migraines and be in bed with the curtains closed for 2-3 days at at time.” Yolanda cries envisioning her mother’s silent suffering. “It took my own journey to really understand her journey.” Because: All Yolanda, All The Time.
Prodded by Dr. Oz, Yolanda revisits her own lifetime of unexplained illness. In her twenties, living in Tokyo and modeling, she turned yellow. Yolanda was flown back to the US, where a doctor diagnosed her with Hepatitis-B (assuming she used drugs. She doesn’t – because she’s from Holland). Yolanda discovered the Hepatitis stemmed from having acupuncture performed with dirty needles. EWWWWW!
The Lyme Disease symptoms began in 2011 with bouts of flu-like symptoms, then rings formed under Yolanda’s eyes, returning every 3-4 weeks. “After that it started attacking my brain. In 2011, a month before my wedding, I was in the gym, and I looked at [David] and said, ‘I can’t do it anymore.’ It felt like a light switched off.”
Yolanda, who previously could “juggle a hundred things at once,” suddenly experienced lapses in normal brain functioning. “I suddenly couldn’t put things together anymore. I couldn’t remember who we’re friends with anymore…,” she recalls. I guessed pre-wedding stress, Dr. Oz agrees, asking if the symptoms were similar to earlier collapses. Yolanda denies it.
Didn’t Yolanda previously say that she began noticing symptoms when she first joined Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills? Wasn’t she doing some baby goat stem-cell treatment?
Regardless, in 2012, a severely debilitated Yolanda joined Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. During the same timeframe she was hospitalized and diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She eschews this. “I knew I had an infection in my brain that was showing a cycle. I knew it because I lived it for a whole year.”
DON’T JUDGE ME BECAUSE I’M BEAUTIFUL – THE BATTLE FOR DIAGNOSIS:
With symptoms not alleviating, Yolanda fought for an accurate diagnosis. There were hurdles.
“The biggest struggle was always that I looked normal,” complains Yolanda. Medical reports evaluating her symptoms judged her for being “beautiful.”
“It was so disappointing. I would just cry to David, going, if one more person tells me I look beautiful I might just jump out of my skin. It was such an insult because I was so… ill.” So that explains Yolanda’s sudden penchant for not wearing makeup? “I had no brain function. I would just lay in fetus on the table and have them check me so many times. They just couldn’t figure it out.”
A wheelchair-bound Yolanda boarded a plan to Europe. “I had so much inflammation in my brain that I cried for the entire 12-hour flight.” Yolanda brought an enormous binder of medical tests, which the evaluating doctor dismissed as insufficient to prove Chronic Fatigue. After an intense battery of additional tests, and waiting six weeks, the culprit was found: “Severe Chronic Neurological Lyme Disease.”
“People started insinuating that I was crazy in the head,” she admits. “So finally getting that diagnosis was just, ‘Thank you God.'”
Meanwhile Yolanda continued filming for Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, signing on for a second season, then a third.
“It’s fascinating, the judgement I’ve endured from family, from friends, from people at work… ,” muses Yolanda. “I had such an extraordinary life! When I got sick I [had] just got married. I mean, look at my girls – don’t you think that I would be front row at the Chanel show in Paris watching my two girls ? Nobody would choose to stay in bed 24-hours a day for that many years.”
“To be judged, it’s an insult to your integrity as a woman.”
LYME IS A BATTLEFIELD – THE CURING BEGINS:
After the diagnosis, Yolanda began a 3-month “hell” of thrice daily IV-antibiotics. “It was the start of the journey,” she says. “It was so intense – sweating on the bathroom floor, just praying to get through those times.”
Yolanda doesn’t know how she contracted Lyme. She supposes a horsefly bite, from living on a ranch in Santa Barbara for 12-years. “I’m such a tomboy, if I would have seen a rash… I’m not that kind of girl that would be like, ‘Let’s go to the doctor.'” Really?
IN THE EYE OF THE JOURNEY – YOLANDA’S LIFE NOW:
Dr. Oz revisits the “unusual treatments” in Yolanda’s health journey, which includes visiting 11 countries and 100 different doctors! “For Yolanda Hadid, battling chronic illness has become a full-time job and a global endeavor,” Dr. Oz narrates to a slideshow of Yolanda’s Sick, Sad, Selfies.
Yolanda shows-off her poster boards, which chronicle her myriad of symptoms spanning years, her co-infections, and the medicines and treatments she’s tried, both conventional and alternative.
“Yolanda’s life has become a relentless battle against chronic disease,” Dr. Oz drones, as we follow Yolanda into her personal treatment room, which she had installed in her new $5 million dollar condo.
Overseen by Daisy, her health advocate, Yolanda begins most days on her in-home hospital bed, receiving an IV, while propped up on an Hermés pillow. The treatment room resembles a spa, but features glass-front medical cabinets, IV poles, and photos of her children modeling. “It’s more of a necessity than a luxury at this point,” Yolanda declares.
A nurse visits 4 times per week to provide IV treatments for Yolanda and the children. Receiving an IV, while wearing her trusty bathrobe, Yolanda describes Daisy’s role helping Yolanda navigate “all the chapters I have been through.” Daisy also provides treatments, like ionic foot-baths, which Yolanda believes remove toxins from her body!
Yolanda also has a handicapped tag on her car – Daisy chauffeurs Yolanda to various appointments.
Yolanda’s treatments merge both conventional and eastern medicines, and include essential oils and physical therapy. “I’ve spent so much time in bed for the past four-years that I have a lot of apathy in my muscles,” shares Yolanda. She receives physical therapy from one of the trainers for the LA Clippers!!!!
Yolanda has no answer for how much money she’s spent on treatments, but admits, “It’s more than David and Mohamed anyone should have to.”
[Looking over her records, Dr. Oz wonders if Yolanda regrets trying some things. “You’re so desperate…” she defends. “But there’s a lot of things that I did, afterwards, especially now with my brain function coming back, I go, ‘Oh my god! Was I crazy!?'” She recounts going to Tijuana, in disguise, to wait in line to receive fetal stem-cell shots, from “some guy that wrote a book.” OH. MY. GOD!!!!!! YES – YOU. ARE. CRAZY.
“I’ve done shady things,” Yolanda acknowledges to a visibly uncomfortable Dr. Oz. “Like, I’m gonna get this or die trying, but I’m not just gonna lay there and wait for it to go away, because it’s not going away.”
HOLY BOOBS BATMAN! THE EXPLANT SURGERY:
[After one crazy failed treatment after another, David insisted Yolanda undergo a bodyscan, which uncovered leaky silicone from a long-ago ruptured implant Yolanda believed had been fully removed.
With the silicone gone, she’s making progress. “It made a huge difference – it changed my life. I’m still dealing with the Lyme Disease, but I don’t think I could have possibly stayed alive with this free-floating silicone in my body.”
Yolanda and Dr. Oz go over her body scan – she points out the visible “drops” of silicone. “Who ever said that big boobs are sexy anyway,” she lectures, grabbing Dr. Oz for emphasis. “We should just be sexy coming from the inside, right!?”
LYME-MOMMIE LOVE:
[Dr. Oz glossed over the topic of Bella and Anwar having Lyme, sticking mainly to how Yolanda’s illness has affected their lives.
“My children kept me alive. They’re the ones who kept me fighting. There were many days when I didn’t want to live anymore, but when you look at your children it’s not a choice anymore – you have to keep fighting and searching to get well!”
Dealing with her illness forced Gigi, Bella and Anwar to “grow up so quickly.”
“I used to be Superwoman! Supermom! All of the sudden I dropped to planet Earth. All of the sudden all they saw was mom in a robe, everyday, seven days a week, months into years,” describes Yolanda. “It made them grow-up a lot faster. There were nights Gigi had to drive me to the emergency room at 3 o’clock because I had such severe inflammation in my brain that I’d be bawling, like on the floor.” Yolanda laughs at the portrayal of those nights, which included Bella and Anwar riding in the backseat during their frantic dashes to the hospital. “They’ve been there. They’ve learned to take charge.”
“As mommies we’re fixers. I don’t have the answer and it’s heartbreaking,” she says of Bella and Anwar’s ‘journey’. “Bella, she’s just starting her life and to have to survive in the world, and to deal with these severe symptoms everyday…”
Bella’s symptoms began “in her spine” thus affecting her horseback riding. Yolanda was already in bed, “very ill” when Bella started having “big accidents” on horseback. Yolanda made her stop riding and get tested which revealed Lyme. “It’s not as severe as mine,” notes Yolanda.
IN HEALTH, BUT NOT IN SICKNESS – DIVORCE, DISEASE, & DAVID:
[Yolanda is “still processing” her divorce from David. “I’m not able to really talk about it, but it’s part of this journey, I guess.”
Dr. Oz reads aloud a loving note from David. “He’s the person who was there most of the time. He knows the facts. He’s walked this journey with me. The patient suffers, but the care-taker suffers too, because life doesn’t only change for us – it changed for the person next to you. David never changed, I changed.”
“I wasn’t the woman I used to be, and I probably never will be again,” continues Yolanda. “My focus, my energy goes to trying to get well, trying to make a difference, trying to find a cure for my children. David’s life is really about being out, traveling, going to concerts – loud music – I can barely listen to the radio!”
REAL JUDGEMENTS, REAL HOUSEWIVES:
Following a clip of Yolanda arguing with Lisa Rinna about Munchausen, Yolanda remarks, “I was so severely mentally compromised that I couldn’t fight for myself anymore.” She then admits that right after the explant surgery she had a brief moment of clarity. Uh-huh.
Yolanda denies being negatively affected by the opinions of the Housewives “I don’t think they’re damaging me. God gave me this special gift that I’m just able to endure it and stay laser-focused.”
“I want to take away the positives – they opened conversation about what’s really going on in today’s world because there are millions of people who suffer probably worse than I did,” continued Yolanda. You mean – there are millions without personalized treatment rooms?! No….
“I sometimes want to regret it, but you should never regret anything you do in life. It’s given me a great platform. I hope to write a book.”
BEING A VOICE FOR FELLOW LYMIES:
“I started sharing on social media because I was just frustrated… that I couldn’t find a diagnosis,” claims Yolanda. “The people inspire me now. They need a voice! I’m grateful to Bravo for having given me this platform. I’m gonna use it to bring awareness. I don’t need to sell any bags on on QVC – that’s not my journey. It’s a much bigger cause.”
“It’s our job as the chronically ill to educate the world. We all have compassion in our heart, people just don’t show it anymore.” #CompassionShamingRules
LIVING ON A PRAYER – THE FIGHT FOR HOPE:
“I’ve spiritually grown so much, I’m a different person today,” insists Yolanda, who admits to “dreaming” about the girl she used to be with the big boobs and the rich husband.
Now Yolanda is fighting to regain her life. After not walking or running for years, she’s signed up for a HALF-MARATHON this July. Dr. Oz looks incredulous. “I don’t even know if I’m gonna make it. I’m not gonna run it, I’ll hopefully walk it,” clarifies Yolanda. “I’m goal-oriented. I need to get back to that person because I now have so much work to do. I need my brain.”
Yolanda summarizes her battle with Lyme disease as more than a health journey. “It’s the journey to my soul and my own strength. And my faith.” Dr. Oz unrolls a 2-foot-long spreadsheet of Yolanda’s tests from this year alone! She cackles with glee as he presents it to her as a gift.

Big Brother Canada 4: Cast Assessment
Big Brother Canada 4 premieres tomorrow night, and before we get to formally meet our fourteen houseguests and two international wildcards, I thought I’d give you my take on the cast and what my first impressions and expectations are from each of them.

Of course, this is going off very limited information from their bios and videos on the official website, where you can learn about them as well. Due to the lack of much to go off of, I’ll likely end up being wrong about much of this as I was for Big Brother 17, but I’ll give it a go anyways. It might be fun to see just how wrong I end up being!
Without further ado, I’ll go through each houseguest as they are presented in the photo above, as well as the four potential wildcards at the end!
Dallas – I think he brings a lot of entertainment potential and might be decent at the game as well. He reminds me somewhat of Arlie from season two and think he could end up doing similarly. I did like that he plans to make both male and female allies to avoid being a victim of any sort of gender wars which plague Big Brother all too often. As long as he isn’t too abrasive, I would look for him to last a while and be a big, memorable character.
Christine– People are not liking her chances, and I can see why. She is easily the biggest outcast with her age being a big factor. There’s a season one Suzette comparison that I’m seeing. Unfortunately, she seems quite misguided, with plans to yell at people, get in a showmance, and to survive the game without any alliances. I do think with the youth of her fellow housemates that her only possible role here will be to slip into a loving, motherly role where her cleaning and comforting are something that is seeked out. I do like that she’s willing to do whatever it takes to survive, but I’m not sure that she’ll be granted that chance unfortunately.
Kelsey – She seems sweet but not that into the game and being willing to do what it takes to win. Instead, she cites that she’s there for the experience. If she is able to get her head in the game, she could do well due to her charming and good-natured personality. I also think her age and socially-active careers will make her more mature and well-rounded than her fellow houseguests. But, I worry that her being somewhat disinterested is going to leave her on the outs and someone who is easy to take out early. There is upside though, sometimes the people who are seemingly lost are good to keep around.
Mitchell – He has a lot of potential to be a popular housemate this season and very good at the game. It’s obvious that he has a natural charisma that oozes out with every word. Perhaps it’s something he’s learned from his YouTube career. He says that everything he does in the game will be calculated, but he almost seems to nice to be as cutthroat as he’s hoping to be. I think the challenge with him will be whether or not he can walk the walk. If he can, he’s absolutely a lock to go deep and someone who could win this game.
Cassandra – Absolutely one of my favorites from the get go, she stood out from the rest of the females in this cast in that she wants to do whatever she has to in order to win. As long as she isn’t too off-putting, I think she could do really great. She’s funny, sharp, charming, and has the right recipe for what it takes to be successful in this game. My hopes are that she just paces herself and doesn’t play too hard too fast like Naeha or Sindy from last year or she could end up experiencing a similar fate. If she’s able to pace herself more like Neda, I think we could see great things from her.
Sharry – For me, she stood out as someone who was immediately likable and someone that I’d want to hang out with. That is a huge factor in terms of deciding who you want to continue living with for potentially a few months. Sharry has a chill vibe about her, yet also has experience in customer service which could really pay off in terms of satisfying her housemates’ needs. I really think if she is savvy enough to navigate the alliances right, that she could be this years winner. There’s no red flags in terms of something I’m concerned about with her personality or potential gameplay.
Philippe – Meanwhile, I feel like Philippe is really someone who will rub people, particularly the women the wrong way. He’s very similar to season one’s Tom, and seems to have a chip on his shoulder due to past relationships with women. It’s written all over him that he’s going to try and make some sort of male alliance which is sure to frustrate fans and houseguests alike. I hope he causes enough controversy to get booted promptly otherwise it’s going to be a long few months.
Loveita – I really like her unorthodox perspective on the game in terms of building credibility with her fellow houseguests. I can’t recall seeing an approach like it in the past and am interested to see how it plays out for her. As long as she’s not too aggressive and transparent with her tactics, I think she should last for a little while on likability alone. She has a lot of potential, it’s all going to come down to how she executes and fits in with the rest of the house.
Raul – Like Kelsey, he seems somewhat disinterested in playing the actual game. More or less, it seems that he wants to get some attention and fame, which is fine but Big Brother isn’t the place for that. I do expect that he’ll last a little while because he has a personality that people will be drawn too and nobody will name him as an immediate threat. How long he lasts will depend on the atmosphere in the house, but I do think his chances of winning are slim to none given his lack of knowledge of the game.
Joel – For a second, I thought this was Big Brother 17 Steve‘s Canadian older brother. If there are enough fans of the show in the house, people are going to look at Joel as a threat because of this. Steve slipped through the cracks week after week despite always being an outsider, and Joel could do the same if given the chance. I think the group in there is smarter than that though and that he’s not going to make it very far unless he can get in with the right group of people that can protect him for the first few weeks.
Maddy – This girl is going to be in some early trouble. She claims to not get along with girls and she certainly seems like one of the bigger personalities in this group. Again, the atmosphere and attitudes of the group will impact how successful she is, but I think she could be someone named as an easy target early on simply because she doesn’t gel with the other houseguests. If she can tone it down in the house or get the men in the house on her side, perhaps she has a shot. But I’m not loving her chances at this moment.
Ramsey – He seems like a naturally nice person that people will be drawn too. Immediately, I see comparisons to Big Brother 6 Kaysar but maybe without the strategic mind. Don’t get me wrong, I think Ramsey is capable of it, but I expect that he’s going to be more along for the ride based on his interview. In the beginning at least, I expect him to go with the flow of the house, instead of going against it, which is smart for gameplay purposes. There’s very little chance that he’s someone who goes out early.
Paige – At 19, she’s the youngest houseguest ever in the Canadian version, and I wonder how much that will make it difficult for her. Perhaps Christine or some of the more mature women can take her under their wing, or maybe she’ll even get roped into a showmance. Other than her cringe-worthy impressions, there’s a lot to like here if she can demonstrate the emotional maturity that a good player needs. If she’s able to cope, I think we could see a similar trajectory to Ashleigh from last season.
Jared – I think he was cast to be similar to Emmett, and he might be, but nothing from his interview or bio stood out. He wants to be polite and that’s basically it. He’ll probably coast for a while and get involved in a showmance, but he won’t bring much entertainment to the table. But luckily, we’re about to get to the entertainment potential in our wildcards!

Jase – He was abrasive, outlandish, and a over-the-top ten years ago. Has he grown up? The haircut (or wig) makes me think probably not, but if he’s given the chance it will be interesting to see. I’d expect him to round up a group of guys and do something similar to his first season, but maybe he’s matured and has a better perspective on the game. Of all of these wildcards, he is probably the most recognizable simply because Big Brother US aired in Canada, so that could help or hurt him.
Tim – It should be a pretty tight battle between him and Jase for that spot, due to their popularity and the fact that it’s a worldwide vote. He’s a bit of a troublemaker and played one of the most strategic games possible in the Australian format. I’d expect people in the house to like and get along with him, but it’s hard to say how he’ll be incorporated into alliances and relationships at this point.
Veronica – I don’t think anyone expects her to get into the house given her competition. She was evicted early from Big Brother Italy, so she likely has a big personality. She seems raunchy and outrageous, but we’ll likely never get to see it. And while that’s unfortunate for her, because of who she’s up against, I cannot complain too much about missing out on it.
Nikki – She is without question one of the biggest names in reality television history and it’s amazing that she’s signed up for this. I have absolutely no clue how much game she’ll have, but she will without question entertain the masses for as long as we’re blessed with her presence. I think she has a natural likability and the fact that she’s Nikki Grahame will hopefully go a long way with her houseguests, but those who don’t know her may be somewhat caught off-guard by her brashness and outbursts. That said, she’s ten years older than she was on her first season and has matured, so I think she can do what it takes to get along with her houseguests when she needs to. I’m not entirely sure what to expect out of her in this format, but I’m excited to see it!

Lisa Vanderpump Approves Of Katie Maloney Ambushing Stassi Schroeder in Palm Springs
All of Lisa Vanderpump’s reality babies were playing nicely in the sandbox last night (sort of), and she approves of this new, strange behavior! In her Vanderpump Rules video blog, Lisa comments on the Stassi Schroeder Situation, and why Katie Maloney’s plan to surprise-confront Stassi in Palm Springs was probably a wise move.
When Katie and Scheana Marie rolled up unannounced on Stassi and Kristen Doute’s “girls trip” in Palm Springs, Lisa admits, “I see a glimpse of sincerity when you see Stassi’s reaction because she’s taken off guard by the arrival of Katie. I think Katie’s plan was ultimately a good one. It’s not one that I recommended, but I think, actually, she was right with her tactic.”

Lisa admires Katie for forgiving Stassi, but snarks that she’s not so sure about the hug that followed. Too soon! TOO SOON! She comments, “I’m proud of the way Katie stood up to Stassi. She held her ground, but she kept her heart opened.”
“I think she forgave her, that’s good. The hug, uhhh, I don’t know. I would’ve held out a little longer for that one,” advises Lisa.
Moving on to other emotionally confused people, Lisa breaks down the totally creepy relationship between James Kennedy and his mother in her blog. “I don’t quite understand the relationship between James and his mother, and it’s not for me to criticize, but I am surprised at it. There’s an old adage that says, ‘You can tell the way a man’s going to treat you, by the way that he treats his mother.’ And I see very little respect there.” Spot on.

As for Katie going all rage-texty on her fiance Tom Schwartz, Lisa muses that Katie’s behavior is, at the very least, an improvement on drunken rages of the past! “I love Katie and Schwartz, make no mistake about that, they’re two wonderful people that are very close to my heart, and, ultimately, I want their relationship to really flourish,” says Lisa.
“Katie and Schwartz are actually having a productive conversation. You take the tequila out of the mix, and there you have it, they’re making headway,” she encourages. “A year ago, this would’ve ended up in name calling and Schwartzy on the couch. There’s hope for these two, I think they’re actually finally growing up.”
Growing up at 30-ish years of age is, apparently, hard for the cast of VPR to do. But Lisa isn’t giving up on them yet! She just can’t quit you, VPR!

Vanderpump Rules Recap: Tequila Katie SMASH!
Does anyone else feel like we’re missing something on Vanderpump Rules? Besides the obvious lack of maturity? It just feels like we’re not getting the full story regarding Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix.
Everyone seems to really despise Tom and Ariana all of the sudden? I refuse to believe the “Dislike” button plaguing these two like a cloud of Axe Body Spray that you got zapped with by the Costco sample lady, is purely about all their friends suddenly loving Kristen Doute. Honestly, has anyone even given a reason for why they want to hang out with Kristen soooo badly. A reason other than “Kristen is FUN!”? Fun does not totally a friendship make.
Other than Saint Kristen pulling of a coup d’etat by winning back the approval of the most-exalted masses of SUR, Stassi Schroeder‘s re-entry into the friend group is causing major anxiety for Jax Taylor and Scheana Marie, the two worst people in We-Ho!

It’s payday at SUR and SUR is the last place on earth that hasn’t heard of the modern miracle known as direct deposit. Katie Maloney and Scheana arrive to collect their checks, but they have to wait for Lisa Vanderpump to physically hand them over. Then, because Katie and Scheana have beef with Ariana, low and behold, she wanders in at the exact same time!!! Naturally Ariana is semi-dismissive of Scheana and Katie, because how else do you treat Skinemaxxx Scheana, Most Self-Absorbed Person On Earth?
Ariana is now a pariah. Kristen must have magic chocolate-flavored juju that she sprinkles around to make people forget the past and lose control of their sanity. It’s like Kristen decided if she’s gonna be all categorically insane and chronically drunk all day the rest of them have to sink to the level. They willingly comply. This is your brain on SUR, kids! <slams head into bar>
If Ariana can’t embrace Kristen in a touching and emotional moment befitting of a Lifetime Movie, Scheana and Katie decides she’s negative and clinically depressed.
Katie has a quandary – she was invited to Palm Springs with Kristen, but didn’t want to go because of Stassi Schroeder, but now she needs to leave town after going all “Tequila Katie” on Tom 2 and berating him with FOUR HOURS worth of awful texts. Katie even said she didn’t want to marry him (and he was like hallelujah!)! The whole argument erupted because Tom 2 suggested that maaaaaybe, just maaaaaybe Katie could try to put herself in Tom and Ariana’s position regarding Kristen. Boozing before besties! Katie responded by threatening to cancel the wedding.
You know, Katie SHOULD cancel the wedding. She has the maturity of the roly-poly Fisher-Price Little People. I would barely trust her to be in charge of Airport Town.
Since Scheana needs a Mom’s Night Out from baby-sitting Shay, she agrees to drive to Palm Springs with Katie and chaperone the Stassi Re-Friendship Summit.
Speaking of baby-sitting, Peter’s girlfriend Sarah scheduled a lobotomy and entrusted her adorable 4-year-old son to the care of Jax + Tom 2 + Peter + Tequila + Candy. No one died but several sperms were light-sabered by an overly-excited Jax on a sugar high. #WeveSeenWorse
Meanwhile in Palm Springs, Stassi, Kristen and Rachel are drinking, because I swear, the only thing they have in common is alcohol. Rachel is a stand-up comedian no one has ever heard of (except Ariana), who drives her Mercedes full of Kristen cigarettes, vodka, and Stassi’s discontent squatting to her parents vacation home in Palm Springs. Rachel also appears to have tons of money to blow on contouring. She seems really sweet and benign, though, like she’ll be the Anonymous Kristen Doute Klone to Stassi’s Anonymous Clone, Kristina.
Frankly Stassi only came on this trip because she’s homeless and tired of sharing a bed with Kristen‘s fleas. She must be drinking so much because she needs to pass out to fall asleep, and clearly she lacks access to a proper shower judging by the dry-shampoo build-up at her roots. Also I’m pretty sure she re-fashioned a men’s XXXL shirt from Goodwill into a dress because in her unemployed boredom she’s succumbed to a Pinterest Fashion+Crafts+Budget+Fun Board. The bottom line is, this is not the look I’d want to be presenting if I were about to be confronted by the former bestie I ditched when I was high on my own self-importance!
Being homeless is aging too. Grouchy middle-aged Stassi has no patience for the Party in Palm Springs Kristen. Stassi’s kaftan is getting sweaty under the arms, she’s hot flashing, bugs are biting her, and Kristen is blowing smoke in her face while text-battling with James Kennedy. “You’re too old for this,” grouses Stassi. Yes, Kristen – YOU ARE. We’re waiting for your emotional age to reach the approximate vicinity of your chronological one. Waiting, and waiting… #JaxAndKristenAreSoulMates
And back at SUR, James mopes about after being demoted to bus boy. Despite losing the Pump CD but gaining a pimple, he’s put things in perspective: He must tell Kristen he’s still in love with her. Lala Kent supports this plan, if only because the sweet, sweet revenge of James embarrassing the hell out of himself will be glorious, but also because Lala is tired of James and wants to foist him on to someone else. She encourages James to “take the bitch to dinner.”
At the bar Jax confronts Tom 1. Tom is annoyed because A) He believes he’s deserving of a World’s Greatest Bro coffee mug and; B) Jax is a tattling suck-up who will do anything for attention which caused the fight between Ariana and Kristen on the beach, thus spiraled into a fight between Tequila Katie and Be-haloed Tom 2. Jax sulks that when Tom was with Kristen he was a lot more fun.
Since Ariana is the Eeyore of SUR. Can someone please re-attach her side-braid with some extra-sticky honey?
Tom 1 stomps off to mix some drinks, and luckily Jax is distracted from introspecting when Tom 2 arrives, followed by Lisa. Tom is frustrated by the barrage of hurtful Tequila Katie‘s texts, and far from Lisa being sympathetic or pointing out Katie’s wrong-doing, she encourages Tom to take it and accept blame for the sake of appeasing Katie. OK, that is the WORST advice ever. First of all, for the past 4 years Lisa has been complaining that Tom 2 is spineless; second of all, she’s basically condoning him putting up with verbal abuse! Lisa – you’re slipping, as they say.
The news gets worse, however, when Lisa learns that Katie is in Palm Springs courting Stassi. This also upsets Jax. What if everyone becomes friends with Stassi again, and Stassi convinces them to kick Jax out of the group. OH! My, MY! How ripe with irony. So perhaps Jax is feeling the way Tom 1 is feeling after all his friends chose Kristen over him?!
In Palm Springs Kristen is prodding a cauliflower with a spatula while Stassi is guzzling vodka, when the doorbell rings. Lingering outside, with her finger hovering over the button until Scheana threatened to sing, is Katie. Kristen starts running around, jumping up and down like it was the Publisher’s Clearing House check and the entire amount was made out to her favorite liquor store, but Stassi started quivering like an overly-emotional teenager. Grow the hell up ladies in your 30’s!
Katie and Stassi have “The Talk” while Kristen and Scheana try to eavesdrop. Stassi cries, apologizing profusely, but it’s fake tears and hollow statements telling Katie what she wants to hear. Katie pretended like she held a firm line with Stassi. They hug and Katie officially invites Stassi to her engagement party.
Katie was so uncertain of how things with Stassi were gonna go, Scheana booked a hotel room, just in case, but now Katie wants to stay at the house and have a slumber party with her past. Scheana’s false eyelashes tremble. Painful memories of her days being ostracized come flashing back! She worked so hard to become queen but now, a low-rent version of Stassi in her prime was replacing her and Scheana has visions of herself being left-out again. Kristen is over-joyed: her life is complete, the trio of her soulmates again unfractured, her Rubik’s cube of delusional enabling back together. In a frankly creepy and leering way she slobbered on Katie and Stassi, kissing and nuzzling their faces, while cheering.
Suddenly Scheana starts having a conscience over her treatment of Ariana. Does this bitch truly expect sympathy? She cast Ariana aside because Kristen was “fun” and now she’s realizing that Kristen and Stassi haven’t changed, their true colors are Shady and Bitchy and they won’t hesitate to dispose of Scheana again.
At SUR, Lisa lectures Ariana over her issues with Scheana and encourages Ariana to “work harder” at her friendship. Apparently Ariana just needs to make more time to stare at the photos of Scheana’s wedding or something. This confuses me – doesn’t Lisa despise Kristen? You might think that Scheana essentially placing her friendship with Kristen above her friendship with strike a chord with Lisa, but no! Ariana wonders why her so-called friends are such babies.
Lisa is full of bad advice and even worse intentions this episode. The only good thing that came out of her was the paychecks she pulled out of her uber expensive purse!
The next morning Scheana is feeling insecure. Kristen tries to push her into morning drinking, then laughs at her for being married and no longer fun. Scheana is wearing a “Mrs. Shay” hat to drive the point home!
To make matters worse Kristen informs Scheana that Ariana doesn’t consider Scheana her best friend anymore. This upsets Schenaa who’s going through soooo much! Shay’s not making her the happiest woman on earth and now Ariana isn’t being the perfect best friend. Scheana complains Ariana is the bad friend for turning against while she’s having so many issues with Shay. Even worse, Ariana is being nice to Shay, but treating Scheana like a bitch. Like a bitch ghost.
Kristen and Stassi float around in the pool, while Scheana sobs to Katie about losing all her friends when she won’t even have Ariana to fall back. Katie insists she doesn’t consider Kristen and Stassi her BFF anymore, but Scheana is her still bestie.
Scheana is pathetic! Exactly how old are these people? Cause they need to go back to first grade for a little common core lesson in friendship!
Everyone leaves Palm Springs on Cloud 9; Kristen wanting to celebrate with more booze. Stassi is elated because she now she has full control over Katie again. Katie is happy, under the misguided belief that Stassi has changed. Everyone is happy but Scheana who’s plagued by great uncertainty. And Rachel who’s forced to be drunk Kristen’s chauffer.
When Katie returns to LA she and Tom 2 have a heart-to-heart. Which consists of Katie brow-beating Tom into apologizing. It’s his fault she turned into Tequila Katie, because he “didn’t have her back” by daring to suggest that Tom 1 deserved friends who care about his feelings.
Last but not least, James has lunch with his mom who solely blames Kristen for his getting fired from PUMP. Even James has the wherewithal to recognize that Kristen isn’t responsible. James’ mom complains that Kristen “always has a drink in her hand” and James has an epiphany about why he wants to be with Kristen: She’s exactly like his mum! James calls his mummy out, but she responds by belligerently yelling at James. Seeing that exchange suddenly I feel bad for James and the little twerp is starting to make a lot more sense!
Am I the only one that finds it completely baffling that this group is in paralytic PTSD over Stassi and can’t forgive her, yet they have no cognizance that Tom and Ariana may be feeling the same way over Kristen?????
TELL US – DID KATIE STAND HER GROUND WITH STASSI? IS ARIANA BEING A BAD FRIEND TO SCHEANA?

Mob Wives Karen Gravano And Drita D’Avanzo Spar On Twitter Over “Fake Stories” In The Media
Shame, shame, shame. Instead of honoring the memory of their amazing friend Big Ang, the women of Mob Wives are getting into Twitter wars over planted stories… and could they be any more passive aggressive (said in my best Chandler Bing voice)? It’s pathetic.
Not only do their posts and retweets take away from those grieving for their beautiful, larger than life co-star, but they aren’t even tweeting at each other. Their silly behavior needs to get in check, and stat. On one side, we’ve got Karen Gravano going on and on (and on) about “someone” making up a rumor that Ang’s family didn’t want her or newbie Brittany Fogarty at the funeral due to their fathers’ reputations as informants. On the other side, Drita D’avanzo is staying relatively silent but obsessively retweeting Brittany’s statuses which defend Drita’s honor. Give me a break. Please.

The pettiness began yesterday when Karen announced, “never angs family it was my cast mate and I wonder who please sad Drita would leak that story when we lost a friend,” adding, “You R all right I am not gonna entertain her didn’t when she 1st put out this fake story. Sad she can try 2 use this time 2 benefit herself.” Something is sad, that’s for sure.
When a follower reminds Karen, “By arguing with each other and calling people out, @KarenGravanoVH1 you’re forgetting about the mourning of your family member,” Karen responds, “True she got me tight cause she is being so disrespectful trying to keep this going but your right.”
Karen works in a few more digs, writing, “Sad that we just lost a friend and she’s making up fake stories to the media and is still trying to keep it going.”
Of course, then there was this exchange which included Carla Facciolo supporting Karen who was then called out by Brittany:
I’d like to say that Drita’s silence was taking the high road, but I don’t really consider her sharing Brittany’s rants left and right to be actual silence.
