Kandi Burruss Talks Feds, Rumors, And Her Fear The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Reunion Would Be “Boring”
Y’all. I for real cannot get the image of Kenya Moore as the Grinch out of my head. Krayonce’s epic holiday costume on the season finale of Real Housewives of Atlanta is sure to haunt my dreams. It was truly amazing. That said, there has been some over-the-top drama in the show’s eighth season, and I’m sure the reunion is going to be just as insane.
In the meantime, Kandi Burruss is treating us to her take on the return of NeNe Leakes, the downfall of her friendship with Phaedra Parks, and those pesky rumors about newbie Kim Fields’ husband. Yikes! Kandi addresses the visit the FEDs paid to her home to collect some of Apollo Nida’s things and reveals her initial concern that the reunion would be dull. With this crew? Never!

Speaking to Bravo’s Daily Dish, Kandi admits she tries to stay out of the fray, especially when it comes to speculation about Kim’s husband. She states, “For me I hate that I missed the trip, but then I didn’t miss the drama because I’m glad I wasn’t apart of the whole thing where they were talking about Kim’s husband and I wasn’t even there for it so thank you. I feel like anything that’s in the press about one of us, they’re gonna talk about it. And, apparently, I don’t know if that was something that was in the blogs, I have no idea. I never Googled them or their situation.”
She continues, “I don’t think he’s gay. He seemed really cool and laid back to me, but I don’t know anybody from his past. I didn’t work with them. So I’m not speaking on what Kenya had to say about it. I hate it because I know when people say something about my husband, that’s a trigger for me. So I can only imagine how Kim felt. They’ve been married for a long time. They’ve been together for a long time, so I don’t know what you could say about two people who are obviously happily married.”
Regarding the upcoming reunion (with the first installment airing Sunday night at 8PM on Bravo), Kandi asserts, “Going into this reunion, I thought it was going to be boring. I really did. I didn’t think that Phaedra was going to deal with the issues. So I didn’t really think there was going to be that much debate between she and I and Todd. And I also didn’t think that Kim Fields was going to be aggressive. So I thought this reunion was going to be boring, initially. Until the day of and then I left there thinking, ‘Wow this is going to be a great reunion.'”
Um, of course Kim is going to be on the warpath! Krayonce was out for her! Kandi adds, “OK, well I think one of the obvious things is the shocking moment of NeNe coming back, because we went into this season where everybody was saying she wasn’t going to be here. And clearly, she’s here,” adding, “For me, it was a lot of stressful things going on with the Phaedra situation once again when she was saying the thing about [how] she felt I was hiding Apollo’s stuff from her; that was shocking to me. Honestly, it was never a secret with us. I mean, I know I never picked up the phone and called, but Apollo never came to us as if he was hiding from her because they were still together at the time. I didn’t think it was a problem, but OK.”
Further discussing how she felt when the FEDs arrived to take back Apollo’s belongings, Kandi tells Bravo, “This situation has turned into something bigger than it should’ve been. I hate that people think we were trying to hide something. We were never trying to hide his stuff from the FEDs or Phaedra. It was never a secret. When the FEDs asked for it we gave it to them. We didn’t have any issues with the FEDs. It’s not like we knew the details of Apollo’s case, so we had no idea that Apollo’s motorcycle being at our house was even an issue.”
As for the Neenster’s grand return (again), Kandi wasn’t bothered by her attendance at Phaedra’s Christmas party, saying, “It was no big deal. I’m glad we had a chance to talk and squash any past drama.”
This, though. Hahahahahaha!

Phaedra Parks Calls Kenya Moore’s Grinch Costume “Life Imitating Art!”
There are blogs that entertain and blogs that inform. Blogs that gush and blogs that gloat. There are even blogs that change the game in one fell swoop (looking at you, Eileen Davidson!) by revealing a darker side of a reality star than we’ve previously seen. Phaedra Parks’ blog, however, does none of these things. And so it is that she remains the Supreme Queen of Evasion and Deflection!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star is under some scrutiny over her relationship with ex-bestie and costar, Kandi Burruss. More specifically, folks are wondering whether Phae-Phae made the call that caused the Feds to show up at both Kandi’s and Cynthia Bailey’s houses to confiscate items Apollo Nida was storing there. True to form, Phaedra addresses NONE of this mess in her blog, instead focusing on what a great party planner Dwight is – and how on point Kenya Moore’s costume was.

First, Phaedra reflects on her Christmas party. “It is always fun working with Dwight. He and I have been friends for almost twenty years. During those years we have created extraordinary events together, from my bridal shower to my sons’ birthday parties, which we fondly call ‘experiences.'”
“When it comes to events,” blogs Phaedra. “he and I are like two peas in pod! The sky is always the limit! Dwight and I have similar tastes; we both know what separates a good party from a great party is creativity and attention to detail. Planning a party is my art form; some people paint, others write music, I create fabulous events. Whenever I have a party I think of it as a gift for my guests, and I try to give them an experience they will always remember!”

One experience we’ll all remember is a green-painted Kenya, who showed up to Phaedra’s party dressed as the Grinch. Phaedra claims no costume could have been more fitting! She says, “I could not have dreamed of a more appropriate costume for Kenya. It was a classic case of art imitating life. I loved it!”
Closing with thanks to Kim Fields’ hubby Chris for his part (the talented part?) in their dance routine, Phaedra shares that she “was appreciative that he took time out of his schedule to dance with me for the party.”
As for any of the actual drama that went on at her party, Phaedra remains radio silent…for now. Here’s hoping she’ll find her voice at the reunion Sunday night. From the looks of reunion previews, they ALL do!

Karen Huger Defends Her Right to “Go Gangsta” on Ashley Darby!
After Ashley Darby’s husband Michael arrived unexpectedly to his own beach house during a girls’ trip, Karen Huger took it upon herself to go on and on…and ON about the perceived etiquette breach. Karen claims it was Ashley’s reaction to the situation more than the situation itself which really ruffled her feathers, though. And which caused her to pop off in a quite un-polished moment!
The Real Housewives of Potomac star first comments on Gizelle Bryant’s decision to publicly confront Katie Rost about possible drug use. She scolds, “I believe that it was not the right setting for such personal/sensitive questions in front of the group. If I were Katie I would’ve stood my ground with Gizelle if I were being attacked.”

Despite Gizelle and Katie’s beef, Karen does admit the ladies had a great time at the drag show…that is, until Michael showed up. “I had a fantastic time! I was reliving the days when I boogied with my friends in college. Great dancers!” gushed Karen.
But all was ruined (at least for Lady Huger) when a dude crashed their party. Furthermore, Karen argues that Ashley’s poor reaction to the situation – which was basically I don’t care! – showed her just who Ashley is. A girl who’s not about to take any sh*t from these hags?

Karen reveals in her blog, “I was shocked and disappointed that Ashley said that she did not care that her guest felt uncomfortable after Michael showed up. This absolutely changed my opinion of Ashley, especially after she made it abundantly clear when we were invited, that no one with protrusions in their pants would be in the house during the weekend. BOOM!”
When asked what she thought about Charrisse Jackson-Jordan’s comment that she “went gangsta” on Ashley, Karen asserts, “I DID! When the occasion arises I might go gangster or pop off, LET THAT BE KNOW!”
Also, let it be KNOW that Ashley called out Karen pretty hardcore in her blog this week. So it looks like Karen may have a formidable foe in the form of RHOP’s youngest cast member! <gang signs>

Sheree Whitfield Says This Season of RHOA Has Been A “Full Circle” Experience For Her
I’m not gonna lie: I love me some WhoGonnaCheckMeBoo! Sheree Whitfield and was thrilled to see her back on the Real Housewives of Atlanta this season, even if it was in a diminished capacity as “friend of” the cast. Sheree says she loved being back too, calling this season of RHOA her favorite ever. Whether it’s moving toward reconciliation with ex-hubby Bob Whitfield, keeping the drama on a low simmer rather than a steady boil, or just looking totally fabulous (which she decidedly does!) this season, Sheree calls it all a “full circle” moment for her. Aww, man! Give the girl her dang peach back already, Bravo!
In her blog, Sheree first fills us in on her situation with Bob: “Bob and I are working on getting to know each other again. We both have grown a lot and are in a different space than we were when we were married. We are in the process of relearning each other. I can say that we are happy with how things are going and our children our happy. #LifeIsGood for #TheWhitfields.”

Sheree also shares that it was nice to make up with Dwight at Phaedra Parks’ Christmas party, given their “How Dreadful!” history together over the ill-fated She By Sheree fashion show/line. Sheree admits, “It was nice seeing Dwight. There is definitely no bad blood between Dwight and myself. In general, this season has been a full circle experience for me in a lot of ways. A lot of people hold on to things and it takes a toll on you mentally, physically, and emotionally.”
“I am at a point in my life where being at peace is my number one priority,” continues Sheree, “so I’ve learned to let things go. I am thankful that I got to reconnect with the ladies and pick up where I left off years ago. I had the opportunity to find closure in some relationships, foster new ones, and just enjoy being around such diverse and accomplished women. Just don’t come for me, because I can and will still check you, boo! LOL!”

Claiming she doesn’t care anymore whether Bob slept actually with Tammy, Sheree simply wants to move on with her life. And being on RHOA this season highlighted that. She takes some time in her blog to thank the fans and Bravo for welcoming her back, and for sticking by her side all of these years.
“I want to thank all of the viewers for your continued support of #RHOA. To pioneer a show and see it continue to grow and stay relevant year after year is truly amazing, and I am blessed to be a part of TV history! Who would have thought that a little show with five ladies living in Atlanta and sharing their REAL lives would still be around more than eight years later! How awesome?”
Sheree gushes, “I can honestly say that this season was by far one of my favorites! Thank you to all of the ladies on the cast for sharing in the laughs, the shade, and the truth! Thank you to Bravo, Andy, and True Entertainment, you guys rock and your hard work is always seen (by millions of viewers to be exact, LOL!).”
“Lastly, #TeamSheree: Thank you for always rooting for me and sticking by my side! Catelynn Lowell Checks Into Treatment For Anxiety & Depression; Gets Support From Teen Mom Stars!
Earlier this week Catelynn Lowell confirmed that she is in Arizona seeking treatment for anxiety and depression. Naturally this is something she not only shared with the tabloids, but on instagram. Because privacy: What’s that?!
On last season of Teen Mom OG, Catelynn opened up about her battle with postpartum depression following the birth of Novalee last year.
“For everyone that thinks I’m so “strong” I’m really not… one day you will know why. I also can be very weak…,” Catelynn tweeted, before confirming she was headed to Arizona on a quest to “be back to my normal self.”

Catelynn’s cryptic tweets got the media curious – as was intended. “Just let [fans] know that I’m just seeking help for my anxiety and depression at the moment,” she informed to In Touch Weekly.
Meanwhile Tyler Baltierra and Novalee were back at home, with Tyler imploding for attention on twitter. He tweeted asking for prayers and reminding us what marriage vows say for those of us that can’t re-watch ours on reality TV every time we forget!
Interesting timing – Teen Mom OG is currently filming. Seems like a continuation of Catelynn’s storyline last season. Or am I just a big ole cynic? On the reunion Catelynn revealed she was even suicidal at one point. “It’s hard. I didn’t want to do anything. I couldn’t even emotionally or physically take care of my own self. I remember sitting in the bathtub and thinking, ‘I’m not waking up another day feeling like this.’”
Speaking of, for the naysayers accusing Catelynn of ‘Leah Messer-ing‘, i.e. pretending she’s seeking mental health treatment when she’s really dealing with addiction, Catelynn sets the story straight. “I’m not in rehab,” she clarified on twitter.
In a statement released to MTV, Catelynn explained her decision. “I’m seeking help for myself and my family. Thank you to all of my supporters. My family and I would appreciate some privacy at this time.” Which is why she released it to the media and on twitter?

Catelynn has also battled with weight loss as was discussed ad nauseum by Tyler. The couple previously sought help for their issues on Couples Therapy.
Butch Baltierra affirmed Catelynn has the full support of family and Tyler. “She’s doing OK,” he tweeted. “She going to go and get better… love her so much.”
Catelynn also has the support of several of her Teen Mom co-stars, who reached out on twitter to command her brave decision to seek therapy in front of the cameras again!
“I love you guys so much..you know that @CatelynnLowell @TylerBaltierra,” Amber Portwood tweeted. Tyler replied, “We love ya too Amb…its just hard to see her go through all this & be away from her for so long.”
Amber added, “I know babe you will see her soon and I’m coming out in a couple weeks. Stay strong. Love you.”
Jenelle Evans, who is currently feuding with all of her Teen Mom 2 co-stars, also reached out. Catelynn thanked her for her support – cause treatment pauses for twitter!

I’m not going to lie, it’s been a rough start (in my eyes, at least) for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newbie Kathryn Edwards. At times I think she’s a refreshing addition to the cast, and others–sheesh–she needs to dial it back a bit! However, on this week’s episode, she seemed very genuine, fun and humble. I truly enjoy her dynamic with her husband (how precious is he?), and I appreciated her ability to apologize sincerely to Erika Girardi’s husband.
Revisiting Monday’s shenanigans, Kathryn recaps, “This was an exciting week for me for several reasons. First and foremost, my ear doctor’s appointment for my hearing aid. I want to clarify with everyone who might have questions about this device…I am still completely deaf in my right ear. The device is called The Phonak CROS. It picks up sound on my deaf side and transmits the sound to the ear I can hear with. So now, when someone sits on the right side (my deaf ear) and talks, I can hear them. Also, it magnifies the sound of everything, making it as close to what a person with normal hearing would hear.”

In her Bravo blog, Kathryn recalls, “As you saw in the episode, it brought me to tears. I had no idea I was missing so much. I have been deaf in one ear for 18 years now, and I have missed a lot of conversations because I simply couldn’t hear. I was so surprised by all the little things I was missing. I had no idea that I was talking loudly. Losing the sound in one ear is a monumental change…so many things adjust when getting used to being deaf and adjusting the volume of my voice was a change I couldn’t gauge until I got the Phonak.”
Kathryn explains, “By no means does this mimic what it’s like to hear in stereo, with two ears, but it is still a game changer for me. I feel so blessed that this was an option and I was able to get the Phonak aid. My biggest hurdle now is remembering to wear it every day. There are days that I want to hear without assistance on my good ear, so I choose not to wear it, but I think I will change that habit, because I want to get used to them completely. I am so happy to share this with everyone, so hopefully this can help someone else.”
As a newbie, Kathryn has enjoyed meeting some of the former RHOBH HBICs. She recalls Camille Grammer’s cancer event, asserting, “On to Camille’s house for her fundraiser to raise awareness on endometrial cancer. I have to say, I don’t know Camille well but what I have seen of her has been great. I love the courage she has had after hearing of her battle against cancer, and I really admire her strength. I was so happy to be a part of the night and support her work on making a difference. What a great event! I have to add a side note. I absolutely LOVE Yolanda [Foster]’s haircut! Someday I will have short hair again. I love that smart, clean look. Super sexy!”
Addressing Lisa Vanderpump’s philanthropic escapades, Kathryn reveals how passionate she was to attend. She blogs, “On to the fight against Yulin! I was so happy to donate my time to Lisa VDP and her cause in bringing awareness to stop this barbaric festival. I grew up and have lived with dogs my whole life, and I cannot understand why anyone would torture and eat mans best friend. I will never understand this practice. If your stomach can handle it, seeing one video of the treatment of the dogs they kill will light a fire under you, but I warn you, it’s very difficult to look at. Sign petitions where you can and speak up.”
As to her new friendship with Yolanda and the ladies’ Manhattan jet setting, Kathryn shares, “And finally, on to New York! Yolanda is getting an award in New York for her work in bringing awareness to Lyme disease. I am so happy to be able to attend the Global Lyme Alliance in support of her. It felt really good to be there, see her smiling and surrounded by people who love her and want to see her well. Next week’s episode is an eye opener for those who aren’t familiar with Lyme disease, and I think the message is very important. There was a lot of love there, I saw it and felt it…I was happy to be a part of it.”
Kathryn concludes, “As always, I want to end on a positive note and say that there may be drama and bickering on the show but there is also a lot of great work that gets done by this dynamic group of women. I am working on a charity event in Los Angeles that is very near and dear to my heart, and I look forward to sharing it with you when we get further along in the planning. In the meantime, I ask in a humble way to those that have the time…give your time to a good cause, make a difference where you can. Your good deeds will do as much for you as they do for others.”
Keep it up, Kathryn! The pros are outweighing the cons, newbie!

Robyn Dixon Opens Up About Betrayal; Laughs Off Karen Huger’s Fit on Their Girls’ Trip
Robyn Dixon is easily the most laid back housewife ever to grace the Bravo network! And her take on the latest drama to unfold on the Real Housewives of Potomac is as chill as her. Robyn does open up in her blog this week about the betrayal that caused her financial troubles, which changed her life forever. She also comments on Gizelle Bryant’s grilling of Katie Rost about drugs and her feelings about Ashley Darby’s hubby crashing their girls’ trip. Spoiler alert on each of these fronts: She’s taking it all in stride.
Robyn begins with some background on her husband Juan’s friend, who basically stole their money right out from under them. Feeling compelled to share in Charrisse Jordan’s “Sister Circle,” she admits, “The pain and hurt that I felt in 2012 was beyond any other hurt that I have ever felt. And although the loss of money really created huge problems for us, it was the evil lies and deception that hurt the most. On top of the devastation from the loss of money and the loss of a friendship (he was even a groomsman in our wedding), I experienced the shock of my life when that same friend took his own life in order to avoid the consequences of his actions. This truly was the most difficult time of my life.”

Robyn says she’s moved on from that troubled time, but has developed trust issues as a result of the betrayal. “I have definitely been scarred and changed by this experience but still want to believe that most people are kind and genuine. One thing I know for sure though – I will run very quickly the other way if someone tries to tell me that they can double my money in a matter of weeks!”
On Gizelle’s questioning of Katie, Robyn maintains, “I really don’t think Gizelle meant any harm to Katie when she questioned her about the PDA overload at Ashley’s party. But I do think that by now, we all know each other well enough to know that Katie was not going to receive that questioning well. I think Gizelle probably was trying to be helpful and wanted to be sure that Katie wasn’t experiencing any major issues, but Gizelle should have backed off when she felt that Katie did not want to entertain that conversation.”

What really got everyone’s panties in a twist was the arrival of Michael Darby, who essentially joined their girls’ trip without invitation (on the last night…but still!). Robyn jokes, “Michael was definitely the last person that I expected to see at the gay club – well I take that back, Juan would be the last person I would have expected to see at the gay club. But back to Michael. What the hell is Michael even doing in Bethany Beach?!?! There was never any discussion that Michael was going to join us so I was just very taken aback by his presence.”
Arguing that a girls’ trip should stay a girls’ trip, Robyn concedes that she really wasn’t too ruffled by the change in plans. “I have no problems with Michael and he certainly has every right to stay in his own home, but if Ashley invited us to a girls trip then that is how is should have stayed until we departed! I’m not mad though – I think their newlywed status probably has a lot to do with their inability to stay away from each other for long. I’ll give them two more years of that!”
It was Karen’s over-the-top reaction that truly ignited the bonfire of delusions within the group, though. Robyn points out the sheer absurdity that is Karen Huger in her blog. “Can I bust out laughing now? Karen, Michael is married to a hot and fun 27-year-old, he has no interest in peeking at you in your silk nighty! Get over yourself, loosen up, move on and have fun! At the end of the day, we are staying at Michael’s house, it is a house big enough to sleep all of us, and he is there to see his wife. Who are we to complain and throw a fit? And the crazy thing is that after all of that commotion, we stayed up all night drinking, playing beer pong, and having a great time with Michael! Well, some of us did!”
