Controversial Big Brother Houseguests Who Were Removed

On the Thursday, August 10 episode of Big Brother, houseguest Luke Valentine was removed from the game for using a racial slur. CBS released a statement following Luke’s exit, explaining their reasoning for removing the player prematurely. “Luke violated the Big Brother code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur,” the network said in a statement, Deadline reported.

Luke is not the first player to be expelled from the game. Over the years, houseguests have been removed for various reasons, including physical violence and using threatening language. In light of recent events, let’s take a look back at all the controversial Big Brother houseguests who were ejected.

Justin Sebik (Season 2)

Justin Sebik‘s elimination in Big Brother 2 was maybe the scariest moment in the reality show’s history. The Bartender was known for being a bit of a wild card but after he pulled out a kitchen knife during a conversation with houseguest Krista Stegall, producers were forced to intervene.

Host Julie Chen Moonves explained the situation to viewers, revealing that Justin held the knife to Krista’s throat several times and asked, “Seriously, would you be mad if I killed you?” The controversial Big Brother houseguest was expelled from the game following the incident.

Scott Weintraub (Season 4)

Scott Weintraub was one of the Season 4 houseguests impacted by the X-Factor twist. Scott’s ex-fiancé, Amanda Craig, entered the house as part of the twist. However, the Chicago native didn’t handle it too well.

Scott’s behavior started to change after his attempt to get back together with his ex was unsuccessful. He seemed to become fixated with Amanda, which came to a head when she was put up for nomination in episode 4. Scott had a full-on meltdown. He threw furniture around the house in an attempt to “blow off steam,” which frightened the other houseguests. He tried to reconcile the situation by holding a house meeting, but it was too late. Scott was removed from the game shortly after the blowup.

Chima Simone (Season 11)

Chima Simone‘s exit was…kind of iconic. Prior to her expulsion, the freelance journalist wasn’t exactly a producer darling, as she had ignored several requests to go to the Diary Room. But Chima kicked the rebellion into full gear after her close ally, Jessie Godderz, was evicted from the game.

She removed her microphone while practicing for an upcoming Veto competition and ignored several requests from production and other cast members to put it back on. After she threw her mic in the hot tub, the California native was called to the Diary Room. She refused to go. Eventually, production had enough. Executive producer Allison Grodner personally called Chima to the Diary Room where she was removed from the game.

Willie Hantz (Season 14)

When the Big Brother 14 cast discovered Willie Hantz was the brother of Survivor supervillain Russell Hantz, they suspected he might cause trouble in the house. However, the player proved to be more unpredictable than expected when he got into a physical altercation with Joe Arvin, the Indiana-based chef.

Willie shoved Joe during an argument, which forced production to get involved. The Texas native was called to the Diary Room and subsequently removed from the house.

Luke Valentine (Season 25)

Luke is the most recent houseguest to be ejected from the game. The former houseguest broke his silence following his premature departure in a video posted to his social media.

“Hey, guys, just letting you know I’m alive, I’ve arrived, and you gotta keep the flames stoked until next time,” he told his followers. “We can’t burn out—no, no, no, the fires of love will continue to burn, baby.” The controversial Big Brother houseguest then thanked fans for their support but did not directly address the situation that led to his ejection from the game.

“Thank you for all the memes. Thank you for the support, all the kind words,” he said in the video.

Times When Below Deck Crew Members Partied Too Hard

As seen on Bravo’s Below Deck series, working on a yacht is stressful. With shifts lasting upwards of 17 hours, the crews are tired. Add to this the emotional toll that filming likely takes. Top this all off with affluent guests who need drink refills and entertainment around the clock, and you can see why the crews tend to go all out on their nights off.

Sometimes, the crew’s partying is mild, albeit hysterical. Here’s looking at you, Connie Arias. Connie was a deckhand on Below Deck Season 3. From smearing peanut butter on her chest to her love of a whipped cream bikini, Connie was the definition of a good time.

Other times, the hard partying Below Deck crew members go too far. As Captain Lee Rosbach‘s rule states, “Don’t embarrass the boat.” Well, many crew members have done just that, and while some of these antics were fun to watch, others took on darker tones. These are the times when Below Deck crew members partied too hard.

João Franco

Bravo/YouTube

João Franco was just brought back as a Bosun on Below Deck Down Under Season 2. Prior to this, he appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean on Seasons 3 and 4. During his time spent on the latter, João’s drunken alter ego Jezabob often roared its ugly head.

In Season 3, João called Hannah Ferrier a “thunderc**t” when he was drunk. The pair were already at odds, as the last time they had dined together, João shattered a wine glass in one hand. This occurred while Hannah was negatively discussing him with one of his love interests, Brooke Laughton.

In Season 4, a buzzed João insulted Aesha Scott, as Jezabob seemed to lash out the most on women. Looking at Aesha’s outfit on a night off, he expressed that it was something a prostitute might wear. From belittling the women to riling up his coworkers, João partied way too hard. Thankfully, João recognized his alcohol-fueled patterns and is now sober.

Rachel Hargrove

Bravo/YouTube

Rachel Hargrove embarrassed the boat during Below Deck Season 8, but if we’re being honest, it was one of the funniest scenes of the season. To explain, the crew was given an entire day off for lounging and drinking at a nearby beach club. Clearly intoxicated, Rachel can be seen walking onto a stage with the band.

As her coworkers watched on, horrified, Rachel began talking into the mic, saying to the musicians “If we’re going to make music, I want some dirty a** s**t.” She then sang into the mic, “titties,” and if I’m being honest, I now do the same.

Rachel definitely partied too hard this season, but yet, she managed to maintain her position onboard. Likely because she’s an excellent chef. Also…”titties,” ok I’m done.

Ashton Pienaar

Below Deck Bravo/Instagram

Ashton Pienaar was another crew member with a drunken alter ego. His was named “Smashton.” While appearing on Below Deck Season 7, Smashton performed a drunken jump into a beach club’s pool, despite the DJ and multiple guests yelling at him to stop. When he jumped, water soaked the DJ’s equipment, and a bill for $1,000 was sent to the boat.

Later on this same season, Ashton’s drunken side saw him punching a window in anger following a verbal exchange with Kate Chastain. As the leader of an incredibly toxic male crew, Ashton partied way too hard, and we do not miss his presence on our screens.

Kat Held

The Pooch Coach/Instagram

Kat Held starred in Below Deck Season 1 alongside Chef Ben Robinson, who would go on to star in multiple seasons within the franchise. Kat loved to party, and her line of “KAT WANTS TO GO TO THE BAH” might just be another one of my favorite lines to quote.

Often, Kat’s drinking became excessive, with the crew once having to push her naked form into a bunk following a night out. “When you drink you become a trailer park, demonic white trash refugee, and I needed to get that off my chest,” Ben stated the next day. Later, he hysterically recanted by saying, “I’m sorry I called you a demonic trailer park refugee.”

Kat definitely partied too hard, but she sure made for excellent television.

Trevor Walker

Bravo/YouTube

Trevor Walker was no one’s favorite “Paul Mitchell hair model.” His hard partying (and problematic) ways even saw Travis fired during Below Deck Season 4. Following one particular night out, he became so drunk, the crew could be seen trying to walk away. Ben, however, sat next to him on a swing and yeeted Trevor’s drink out of reach.

We laughed. Trevor was fired. He’s likely still off somewhere, partying way too hard with his blank expression.

Ben Robinson

Ben Robinson/Instagram

Ben Robinson is not just a great chef, he’s also an excellent time. In Below Deck Season 4, the world was treated to two Bens, as his brother James was in town and chose to mingle with the crew on their night off.

At the nights end, Ben took off his pants (and underwear) and walked down the dock, proving that he partied way too hard. That said, we loved it way too much.

Jake Foulger

Jake Foulger/Instagram

Jake Foulger appeared on Below Deck Season 9, where he immediately became tight with Fraser Olender. Following a drunken night out, Jake stripped naked and jumped into the pool of a hotel restaurant. He went on to strip down often, earning himself a spot on this “partied too hard” list.

Travis Michalzik

Bravo/YouTube

Travis Michalzik appeared on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4. Though he always managed to wake up and work hard following his many drunken nights out, Captain Sandy Yawn could still smell alcohol on him the next day.

The crew also expressed concerns over his excessive drinking. Though Travis partied hard, his talk with Captain Sandy made him realize that he had gone too far and he began to cut back.

What We Hope to See In The Vanderpump Rules Spin Off

(Photo by: Tommy Garcia/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images)

Bravo recently revealed that Vanderpump Rules was scheduled to end after Season 10. However, Scandoval saved the day. With a new season currently filming, viewers have decided to turn their interest to the VPR spin off news that the network recently dropped. A new collab could mean anything for the beloved series, including but not limited to OGs returning, cast members let go, and even a series about the Vanderpump kids. Here is what we are most hoping to see on the Vanderpump Rules spin off.

They’re Back…

Stassi Schroeder/Instagram

After a few seasons of poor ratings, Bravo wanted to come up with something fresh. Undoubtedly, it would be great if the spin off concentrated on some original founding members, including Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and Jax Taylor. Even though none of them were the nicest of humans, they sure did deliver when it came to the dramatics. It would be nice to see the old gang get back in touch and reminisce about the old times in the SUR alleyway.

During the early seasons, Vanderpump Rules was riveting. Between the incestual dating and fighting over who slept with whom, it was hard to tear yourself away from the TV. There were some outrageous moments between the OGs, including Stassi slapping Kristen, Jax sleeping with everyone, and even a catchy song by Scheana Shay. To say the OGs were as “Good as Gold” would be the understatement of the century.

Who’s Signed Up?

Kristen Doute/Instagram

Lala Kent revealed via Amazon Live that the Vanderpump Rules spin off “is fully happening.” The star shared, “I think they start [filming] this week. It is so weird that they have a show, and they aren’t on our show. And as of now, we aren’t on their show. We are all best friends, and we should be filming a show together.”

Kristen and her boyfriend, Luke Broderick, have also been said to have signed a contract. It’s no surprise that Kristen is back since she played a big part in Scandoval, even though the network fried her for her racist comments about Faith Stowers.

The Bachelor‘s Jasmine Goode may also join the Vanderpump Rules spin off, as she worked at SUR before the pandemic. During her time handing out goat cheese meatballs, she became quite close with some of the cast and could make a perfect addition to the spin off.

Vanderpump Rules 2.0

Bravo/Instagram

Many of the OGs swapped bartending for baby bottles. The spin off is set to feature the group of West Hollywood friends as they navigate their lives as parents. It feels very Full House-esque, but fans are here for it. Who doesn’t want to see Jax flipping out over changing a diaper?

Fans of Schena’s podcast, Scheananigans, will be happy to hear that also joining the new series will be co-host, Janet Caperna, and her husband, Jason Caperna. One of the first scenes was filmed in July 2023 at Janet’s birthday bash. Along for some cake and ice cream were Jax, Brittany Cartwright, Kristen, and Luke.

Janet is also expecting a Thanksgiving baby, which will help when the cast wants to have playdates. Photos of Janet’s sonogram were also the subject of conversation a few months back after some photos were spotted on Ariana Madix‘s fridge.

Former Miss USA Nia Sanchez and her hubby, Daniel Booko, are set to make their reality TV debut along with their twins. Married couple and real estate agents Michelle Lally and Jesse Lally have also been caught filming with their three-year-old daughter. The group of old and new faces will surely have a lot of diapers to take care of between them, but maybe Lisa Vanderpump will step in as the nanny.

Not All About Jax

Jax Taylor/Instagram

Along with Kristen, Jax and his wife, Brittany, are the only OGs who have committed to the spin off. And while we enjoy seeing Brittany and her love of beer cheese, fans do not just want to see a show centered around Jax. Less we forget, Jax was a major villain who was actually fired by the network for making insensitive comments. We can’t assume he has turned over a new leaf and changed his ways.

It would be nice to see Britanny have more of a say in their relationship. When viewers last saw the couple, Jax was pooping with the door open and acting like a gross husband. Maybe Britanny has whipped him into shape. Either way, it would be humorous to watch Brittany try and tame the animal that is Jax.
