As much as I love watching Vanderpump Rules, I would enjoy it even more if the turnaround time between filming the season and the episodes airing was a lot quicker. I’ve been so intrigued by Lala Kent getting along with and hanging out with Katie Maloney, Stassi Schroeder, and Kristen Doute on social media after seasons of throwing shade. I just want to know how they got to this point where they are actually good friends, but unfortunately I am still waiting for those episodes to air.
Even though Lala was at odds with Kristen, Stassi, and Katie for some time, she has been cool with Scheana Marie for a while, so it’s pretty surprising to learn that Lala is not happy with the current state of their friendship.
During an episode of The Tomorrow Show, Lala insisted that the scene where she asked Lisa Vanderpump for a second chance to be a hostess at SUR was actually legit. She explained, “You can’t be a part of the show… I can’t be a part of the show if I don’t have a job at SUR where I’m going in at least once a week working for two hours as a hostess each time.” It’s interesting how that rule does not apply to every person in the cast.
Later on during the interview Lala said that “Lisa is the most supportive human being in the world, especially to me. I just think she looks at me and sees something that most people don’t and I’m grateful for that.”
Lala was asked, “Would you say that Stassi is the Bethenny Frankel of the Vanderpump franchise?” This is such a random question, but without hesitation, Lala declared, “Baby, I’m Bethenny Frankel of the Vanderpump Franchise.” She was asked if she was “the biggest earner on the team.” She answered, “As far as the show goes, no, but Lala has that Give Them Lala Beauty money.”
Lala also insisted that Stassi’s role as an event planner at SUR is also legitimate and not just a story line for the show. She shared, “I have a showcase further toward the end with all of my music, whether I’ve written it or produced it. I wrote a song for [Randall] Emmett. So that’s there and she put the whole thing together, besides the music part where I got the speakers and stage because that’s my forte I guess. The rest of it she did all of it. She killed it: flowers, framing, organizing tables. She’s great.”
Aside from planning Lala’s showcase, Stassi also got off-camera drinks with Lala, Kristen, and Katie. Lala was asked, “Is there any reason Scheana wasn’t there?” And this when the interview really got interesting. Lala said, “She has her show that she’s doing in Vegas which…. happy for you” and she could have stopped there, but she didn’t.
Just like almost every other person on this show, Lala called out Scheana for being self-involved. Lala said, “I’m not going to give her any attention because I can’t even remember the last time she even asked me if I’m breathing OK. I’m breathing great. I’m doing great. Thank you for asking. This probably isn’t the best time to even mention it, but I’ll mention it to her at some point. I’m a damn good friend, but if you can’t give me one hundred percent and I’m giving one hundred percent, there’s only so much that I can do.”
Lala clarified that “nothing specific” happened that made her feel this way about Scheana, but she did share, “It was just me telling her how proud I am of her with her booking in Vegas and I started my line which was not easy. It took a lot of work. I’m constantly making sure she’s good and I’m just waiting for her to even ask ‘Hey. How are you doing today?’ I’ve actually never heard that once in our however many words of knowing each other.”
Lala did have some nice things to say about Scheana as well: “I’ve said this from the very beginning, even when we weren’t connecting. Scheana has one of the best hearts in the whole entire world. You can’t debate that. It’s just a fact.” Even so, Lala did confess, “I do feel like I’m dealing with someone who’s a little bit insecure with things and I almost treat her like a little, baby bird. I’m like ‘You’re amazing,’ and I don’t do that because I feel like I have to. I do that because she’s my friend. So when I do that, I’m fine with you not acknowledging that I’m doing something too, but maybe just ask ‘How are you today?’ That’s it. It’s pretty easy.” It is.
After yet another discussion about Scheana only caring about Scheana, Lala was asked if she felt like Scheana “thinks she’s the Bethenny Frankel of the show.” Lala theorized, “I think she thinks she’s the Kim K. Ain’t nobody Kim K, but Kim K.”
Tonight is an all new episode of Vanderpump Rules. “Scheana spirals out of control when she suspects Rob is pulling away, forcing Lisa to come to her rescue. Stassi assists in dressing the staff for SUR’s annual Gay Pride celebration, while James erupts on Lala after she insults his girlfriend. Jax turns to an unlikely form of therapy in order to come to terms with his anger and infidelity.”

There are few things that I love more than a Real Housewife attempting a music career. If the song is great, then that gives me another bop to listen to. If the song is terrible, it’s entertaining for a totally different reason. I will listen to it just as much (if not more). It’s really a win-win for the super fans like myself.
That’s why I miss Melissa Gorga’s early days on Real Housewives of New Jersey when she wanted to be a pop star and her husband built a recording studio in their basement. These days she is caught up with her clothing story Envy and all of that restaurant drama, but if she ever wanted to record another song, I would be all for it.
During her appearance on The Morning Breath, Melissa named Erika Jayne when she was asked who she would want to collaborate with. She said, “We would just put on a g-string and rock it somewhere with like diamonds and furs.”
Still, Melissa did seem pretty hesitant to get back into the music. She admitted, “I’m damned if I do and I’m damned if I don’t. It would only be for fun. I don’t take myself seriously with that at all. I know there’s a couple that do and I won’t mention any names that are very serious and think it’s like a real thing. I don’t. I do it truly for fun.”
Reflecting on the most recent Real Housewives of New Jersey season, Melissa addressed that memorial controversy from episode one. Margaret Josephs planned a memorial for Teresa Giudice (who she met the day before) to commemorate her mother (who she never met) and Siggy Flicker and Dolores Catania were not included.
Melissa explained, “I think the reason [Siggy] wasn’t invited to the wreath thing is that it was pretty bad the night before. It was to a point where no one was speaking. She was calling us ‘this Jersey trash’ and we were all like, where are you from? Cherry Hill. We were all pissed off.”
The Morning Breath host Claudia Oshry said, “As far as things people should do in social situations, Margaret should have probably given a heads up.” Melissa admitted, “I agree. I actually said in that situation should Dolores and Siggy have been there? Yes. I think Margaret has apologized over and over.”
Later in the interview, Melissa said, “Jersey is the hardest franchise to cast,” which we all saw during Season 6 when Amber Marchese and those twins were cast as Housewives. Amber joined the show as “a friend of Melissa’s,” but that connection was highly exaggerated on the show. Melissa explained, “We knew each other back in the day, not even high school, but we like went clubbing together. It was like those friends that you didn’t grow up with, but you went out with for years, we went to every night club.”
Melissa continued, “So she just popped up on the show and she was like ‘Hey so you never called me when I was sick.’ And it’s like I haven’t seen you in ten years. I am confused. It was a lot of change at once.” Thankfully that only lasted for one season.
Melissa was asked if she’s in contact with any of the Manzos or Jacqueline Laurita. Melissa shared, “No. I don’t not like the Manzos. I actually love them all.” She didn’t comment on Jacqueline specifically, but that lack of comment really does say a lot.

Y’all, help a sister out…please tell me why TLC insists on dragging out Sister Wives into two hour episodes? The same content could easily be edited down to an hour without scrapping any valuable lip sync footage. There has to be another plural family that wants to risk persecution by having their own show that can air during the second hour. Or, better yet, bring back the TLC flagship What Not to Wear! Alas, it’s not that I don’t love the extra time with the Janelle, Meri, Robyn, Christine (especially Christine!), and crew, but Kody Brown’s hair is such a treasure, it needs to be shared sparingly with the public.
Last night’s episode begins with Maddie and Caleb in town to celebrate her 21st birthday, but she can’t drink because she’s pregnant with the first Brown grandchild. While Janelle and Kody are privy to this information, the young couple has yet to share the news with the rest of the family. Kody resembles a cartoon villain when he’s tasked with keeping such a big secret. The family comes together to toast Madison’s milestone. Robyn explains that polygamists embrace individual birthdays…probably because being one in twenty-something children makes it easy to get lost in the shuffle the remaining 364 days a year!
Because Maddie’s big day falls between Halloween and Thanksgiving, Janelle has baked three pumpkin pies in lieu of a cake. Kody gifts his daughter and her husband with his and hers watches which have the New Testament microscopically engraved on the back. When it is time for Caleb to present his gift to Madison, Robyn grills him. Girlfriend has to get her screen time, y’all! She peppers him with questions: does Madison know what her gift is? Does she even have the tiniest clue what is in the package? Did he buy her something she’s been hinting at for a while? Gah! Shut up already so they can make their big announcement. Madison pretends to go for the present but then stops to unzip her sweatshirt to reveal a “Baby on Board” sign safety pinned to her belly.
The family is ecstatic to learn the big news, and they are even more thrilled to hear that Maddie and Caleb will be moving back home so Janelle can help them with the baby while they finish school. There are a few comments about the couple’s original plan to wait until they were finished with school to try for a baby, but they are said under the guise of “but we’re so happy they didn’t!” Absent from the big reveal is Meri, who is out of town for “business,” which is apparently code for hocking leggings. She’s more independent now that she’s an empty nester, but she hated to miss the big event. It means a lot to her when Madison and Caleb face time with her to include her in the moment.
Kody boasts he is going to be a 49 year old grandfather. Janelle, 48, thought she’d at least be in her 50s the first time she became a grandmother. A giddy Christine announces she is 44 and teases Robyn about becoming a sister grandmother (that’s the term, right?) at the ripe old age of thirty-eight. Is it just me, or do all of these ladies look a few years older than their actual age?
Christine is super happy to hear that Madison and Caleb are coming back to the cul-de-sac compound. Kody has been itching to move (again!), but Christine is over the family’s nomadic ways. She is quite content staying put in the cul-de-sac, and Maddie’s move means Kody will have to put any relocation plans on hold. The wives are divided on the longevity of the compound. Robyn doesn’t feel at home in Las Vegas, and she always believed this move was temporary so they could avoid jail time in Utah. Ultimately, she and Janelle would love to move back to Utah with the family. If that was always the intention, was it really necessary to build four giant homes on the same street? Seems excessive to me, but then again, it’s the Browns.
Robyn and Christine are impressed with Kody’s ability to keep the secret of Maddie and Caleb’s baby news. Kody bristles. He is the best secret keeper on the planet! Gentle ribbing from his wives turns into a study in Kody’s struggle to be a husband to four different women. Polygamy is hard, and it’s somewhat lonely for Kody. He has four wives, but he can’t share the intimate details of his relationship with one wife with the others. It can be very isolating. Give me a break! Robyn sympathizes. It’s tough compartmentalizing certain aspects of a plural family.
Christine has commandeered her sister wives for a zany lip sync routine to be performed at Mykelti’s bridal shower. Even Janelle, who usually (and wisely) sits out of these fiascos, is going to be a part of it. Of course, Janelle notes that she is begrudgingly participating after Christine played the birth mom card. She’s so out of her comfort zone that she requests some extra rehearsal time with Christine.
There is less dancing and more discussion on Christine pulling the bio mom card and being front and center in this little singalong event. Janelle is quite fine dancing back up to Mykelti’s biological mother. The viewers are treated to quick lesson on when polygamist bio moms are not faulted for taking the lead until the scene dissolves into Janelle’s aversion to “twinkle fingers” and costumes. Janelle is hopeful that Mykelti will see her lip sync sacrifice as an apology for not being super excited when her engagement was announced. To be fair, Mykelti and Tony’s timing threatened to overshadow Madison’s big day, and Janelle did her best to stay quiet.
Janelle and Kody’s son Garrison has been in basic training for the last four months, and the family is excited to welcome him home to a big barbecue. Christine is as anxious to see Garrison as Janelle because there is a special bond between the kids and their moms regardless of the biological pull. Oh Christine. You are such a lovable hypocrite. Garrison arrives to a tearful homecoming with an ecstatic Janelle. All of his siblings are equally excited to see him, and it’s a great reminder of how, as much as I hate to admit it, the Browns are truly one big family. Garrison, like the rest of his siblings, is supportive of his parents but has no desire to live a plural lifestyle.
Much like with Maddie’s baby announcement, Meri is upset to miss Garrison‘s homecoming. She is actually back at her cul-de-sac wet bar, but somehow she missed the memo that he was coming home early. The family gathering made it seem like “coming home early” for Garrison was twenty minutes early, so I’m confused by Meri’s narrative. If she knew he was coming home that evening, it seems she would have only been late to the party instead of missing it altogether. My rationale, of course, misses the part where Meri is trying to get as far away from this family as possible.
The night before Mykelti’s bridal shower, Christine is prepping for the party and lording over a final dress rehearsal for the “I Will Survive” lip sync. Janelle is still a wet blanket, but Christine powers through with her multiple costumes. The wives discuss their reasoning for not getting naked in front of their sister wives. They are not quite at that comfort level with each other. Christine has enlisted a few of her kids to watch their performance and provide constructive criticism. Wow. It’s a lot. Meri is kicking herself for not scheduling her own private dance lesson with Christine. Meri wants a very structured performance, but it’s not happening with this group. Thankfully, the ladies seem be truly getting along while they tweak the choreography on this nightmare.
Aspyn, newly engaged herself, is taking the helm for the shower. Christine is in charge of the Mexican hot chocolate, which she describes as liquid chocolate covered tortillas. Delicious! Aspyn’s OCD is on full display, and she is fine as long as everything is absolutely perfect. Christine is lurking in the background, waiting to pounce. Aspyn won’t accept any help from her mother, but perhaps she could accept some of her mom’s happy pills. Christine’s only concern is that groomzilla Tony will point out all of the discrepancies from a traditional Mexican bridal shower. In true Christine fashion, she decides to deflate the tension by running around the house like a screeching banshee before reflecting on the sometimes distant (and contentious) relationship of her two oldest daughters. She’s excited Aspyn and Mykelti are in a place where they are truly friends.
When it is finally time for the shower, Janelle doesn’t notice any of the food or decorations. She is just waiting anxiously for the lip sync to be over. Because Tony can’t leave well enough alone, he takes it upon himself to give the shower a quick one-through to voice his opinions. Fortunately the theme and offerings meet his approval. Aspyn gives an awkward speech to welcome the guests. People need to hit up the hot chocolate bar before completing a crossword puzzle based on Mykelti and Tony’s love story. Hold onto your hats, party goers! The bridesmaids each gift Mykelti with their favorite love story, and a hilarious Maddie hands “Taming of the Shrew” to her sister. Another friend gives Mykelti “Fifty Shades of Grey” and Christine blushes. She hasn’t read it…well, she’s only read the good parts. Christine is shocked to find out the central theme of the book is bondage. What “good parts” did she actually read??
The wives sneak out to don their costumes for the grand performance. The guests seem entertained, but only Christine and Robyn seem to understand the concept of lip syncing. Meri and Janelle are merely back up dancers who may or may not move their lips every minute or so. Overall, Mykelti is pleased with the outcome. Robyn wants to hang on to her blonde wig. I’m guessing it’s for an alter-ego for Kody, but she is quick to say the wig just makes her more carefree. The longer Robyn is a part of this family, the less she cares what her husband thinks. Amen says Janelle! The wives then chat about how Tony’s mother and her family all gifted Mykelti with sexy lingerie. Is it a cultural difference? Should the sister wives feel uncomfortable by this display of inappropriate presents? Christine chalks it up to the fact she and her sister wives are just a giant group of prudes. Christine is a truth machine.
Maddie and Caleb are preparing to move into Janelle’s house, and she is struggling to find space for their growing family. Kody is appalled that Janelle can’t offer the couple their own bathroom. Perhaps he didn’t think out his cul-de-sac compound out so well, did he? Kody is prepared for a remodel. He is very in tune to what kind of apartment a married couple would need to have some privacy. How about having their own place to live? It’s not on Janelle to house her unemployed married daughter and spouse because they decided to have a child before they finished school. Kody wants to move the pair into one of Madison’s siblings’ rooms, but Janelle isn’t willing to uproot another child to accommodate her daughter. Her husband is on the opposite end of the spectrum. He knows all about romantic relationships in close quarters.
YES! Christine is taking vocal lessons so she can sing a solo at Mykelti’s wedding. This is going to be everything. In Christine’s head, it’s an apology for not welcoming the wedding news from the get-go. After she belts out the final note, she is tasked with picking up the dreaded bride and broom pinatas that Tony and Mykelti intend to beat with a vengeance at their reception. The pinatas are actually cute, but Janelle still seems a tad perturbed by the idea. Tony’s pinata will be filled with Mexican candy, while Mykelti’s pinata will be filled with “white people” candy. That is what Christine called it, right?
Aside from the pinatas, Christine has latched onto a Frisbee idea presented by the pawn shop owner who will be officiating the wedding. Mykelti and Tony met at a game of ultimate Frisbee, and Christine is spearheading a Frisbee decorating initiative. The Frisbees will be thrown at over the happy couple as they walk back down the aisle after being married. Christine is policing the appropriateness of the Frisbee decorations. She has also purchased an Irish wedding ring, which is a family tradition with all the Browns, as a welcome gift for Tony.
In the vein of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” Mykleti has asked each of her mothers to take part as one of the traditions. Christine has big plans to cut up her wedding dress to create flowers for Mykelti’s bouquet. She isn’t one for much sentiment, so ruining her wedding dress shouldn’t be an issue. However, when Christine tries on her dress for the last time, she succumbs to her emotions.
Kody interrupts Christine‘s walk down memory lane to compliment his wife on how much weight she’s lost since their wedding day. The dress is basically a trash bag on her. The pair discusses their stressful and quick courtship. Kody admits he wasn’t engaged in the wedding day…probably because he’d already done it twice already. Christine reflects that she is thrilled that her family is public so she can proudly proclaim to be one of Kody’s wives. While joking about carrying his wives over the threshold, Christine makes a joke that Kody could do all four wives at once. An embarrassed Christine is appalled when she realizes her words. Kody likens Christine’s cutting up her dress as a symbolic gesture of gutting the cultural stereotypes of a society that suppresses plural marriage. Deep. Christine acknowledges her ups and downs with Kody and recognizes her daughter and Tony will go through the same highs and lows. And we’ll get to see them all in the couple’s inevitable spin-off (please no, TLC!).

There's a new prince on the block. According to reports, Paul Bettany will replace Matt Smith as Prince Philip in season three of The Crown. Yep, Vision replaces the Doctor. Netflix...It is the particular ability of Real Housewives to turn the doing of something good (or straightforward) into a giant diabolical mess of bickering, tantrums, and meltdowns. The Real Housewives Of Atlanta headed to Houston to do some charity work after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey but brought a new kind of devastation all of their own making. Thanks, but no thanks!
I don’t want to imply nothing of merit happened on this trip, but competing charity events in hurricane-destroyed towns, complete with all the accompanying Housewives histrionics, may be a new low. Possibly? Maybe I should try to be more positive and instead believe the ladies were so overcome with emotion from their good works and seeing people who lost everything that in turn they lost their heads? Naaaahhh.
I will say, all the new interview looks were great. Cynthia Bailey was like a disco ball lit from within. Although I didn’t think Porsha William‘s repurposed Kim Zolciak wig was her best, the dress was fantastic. Sheree Whitfield‘s pale pink dress was also super flattering.
It all started out rather sweetly, a tale of sisterhood and putting aside differences for the greater good. During NeNe Leakes‘ Elephants Crush The Circus energy rave (is NeNe intentionally trying for the stupidest and nonsensical events this season?) Porsha mentioned that her family charity Hosea Feed The Hungry & Homeless was doing a drive to gather supplies and food for Houston, then heading down there to distribute them. Porsha invited all the women, but was met with dead silence, because as Kandi Burruss explains, nobody likes Porsha. And if nobody likes Porsha that means they also can’t like helping people in dire straights.
Kandi made sure to mention that she personally had donated $20,000 to families in need, because Kandi is a person who really values and understands those feelings of hunger. Girl will run over your foot for some fried chicken!
Cynthia found herself in a tough spot. See, SHE was going to Houston to do her own fundraising/uplifting event on the very same weekend and had also planned to invite the women. Therefore she felt obligated to attend Porsha’s event – if Porsha was willing to come to hers in exchange. And Porsha was! I felt this little quake of glee, ‘Look – Real Housewives behaving like REAL HUMANS. Something is amiss with the world, but for now I will take it!’ And you know for a while, NOTHING was amiss.
I don’t know what everyone else’s excuses were for not attending. I guess NeNe is too self-important to fit her ego in a food drive, and Kim, likewise, only likes herself and her Instagram feed. Kenya Moore is a wife and that is a full-time job even though they don’t live together. Sheree still has a back injury from her car accident and is under Dr. Tyrone‘s orders to sit on her backside. But seriously – why is no one demanding a doctor’s note?
Porsha and Cynthia went to Houston with their sisters in tow. Luckily, Cynthia managed to abandon her Scarecrow from The Wiz look before traveling to Houston, cause, girl, those glasses were previously worn by my seventh grade science teacher who also still had a mustache left over from 1975.
Then Shamea Morton met up with them. For a brief moment there was no drama. Even though Porsha and Shamea are kinda still not speaking. Porsha was initially weirded out by Shamea inviting herself. Shamea decided to show-up in Houston as a way of glossing over all their issues and pretending they never happened. A Housewife in Houston is still a Housewife with a vendetta and a demand for an apology, after all!
Porsha is hurt because Shamea intentionally embarrassed her during the bridal party by questioning Porsha’s health issues in front of the Kandi Koated Klique, but Shamea actually seems like she’s in Houston for the right reasons. And what better way to show you’re a friend than to attend the charity event of the friend you’re having a tiff with? Later they talk through it like normal friends and make amends, and it was really cute.
First, the ladies did a food drive hosted by Porsha’s family foundation. Porsha explains that for her grandfather feeding the hungry and homeless was an important, except that didn’t always extend to his granddaughter. Porsha shared an anecdote of the time when she and her mother were so hungry and poor, they were digging in the creases of the car seats to ferret out coins for the dollar menu. Yet they didn’t hit up Hosea!? Porsha is the most curious legacy of her grandfather and I am dying to know more about her backstory, instead of her backside, which is what she usually displays.
Anyway, then Porsha headed off to do radio promotion for the bigger event the following day, while Cynthia got dressed for her charity gala and drive. Porsha, Shamea, and Lauren were exhausted and barely had time to change or straighten their wigs, but they still made it for Cynthia’s event and were super engaged. Porsha was feeling all inspired by the sisterhood and togetherness, and really excited that her relationship with Cynthia was growing. Likewise, Cynthia was impressed with this different side of Porsha, and then record scratch: KENYA CAME WALTZING THROUGH THE DOOR.
Literally as soon as Kenya showed up, Cynthia showed Porsha her back. Kenya had scrounged up this opportunity to volunteer with Habitat For Humanity. Her brother and his family live in Houston, and although it sounds like they weren’t directly affected by the hurricane, it was still important for Kenya to help, and she included her sister-in-law and nieces. All extremely nice. Except Porsha had planned a huge charity food and goods drive and gathered enough donations for several hundred and was counting on Cynthia to also be there.
In the spirit of this burgeoning sisterhood, Porsha even suggested Shamea skip the food drive to help Kenya’s project – and Porsha sent a donation. Of course that’s because Porsha was expecting Cynthia to come help her and all.
But all good deeds are not repaid, as we know.
That morning, as they’re literally walking out the door, Cynthia informs Porsha that instead she’s going to volunteer with Kenya. Kenya, who showed up last-minute and is already being a twaty-B by bossing everyone around about how whatever SHE is doing is more important than what they are. She even shades Cynthia and Porsha for just hosting events instead of getting their hands dirty. UGH.
As always, Krayonce needs to check herself before she wrecks herself, but Krayonce has no brakes – wedding ring or not!
Then Kenya is straight-up obnoxious at the site; ordering everyone around, barking commands, snapping, acting like she’s running Habitat and is too important for even a water break (later she will have her fill #Foreshadowing), demanding everyone do more because SHE is the arbiter of what constitutes a good deed.
When Shamea calls to find out which house they’re working in, Kenya brusquely tells her she has no time for small talk and hangs up (Kenya had time to apply false eyelashes to wear with her googles though!). When Shamea arrives, Kenya orders her to “trash duty.” No one missed the hidden message there! Shamea was EXTREMELY nice about it, though. I might’ve trash dutied all over Krayonce’s face.
Seriously – Kenya acted like SHE personally was getting a family back in their home with her one afternoon of work!
Porsha’s event is so successful they run out of food and need local restaurants to bring more hot meals. They were expecting 400 – 500 people, but over 2,000 came. I suppose that doesn’t count since she wasn’t ripping insulation off the walls?
Afterwards, the ladies hit up a BBQ restaurant, but Kenya was too busy vacuuming her hotel room and lecturing her dog children, because wives always create domestic bliss even if their husbands are no where in sight, ergo she was very late to dinner! Because wives also routinely blow off their friends since their invisible husbands come first.
The only thing ‘baby vegan’ Porsha can eat is corn on the cob and a side salad, and it must’ve put her in a saucy mood because she and Lauren confronted Cynthia about how quickly she denounced them once Kenya arrived; instantly breaking her previous commitment to Porsha. Cynthia played dumb by pretending she had already helped Porsha during the Hosea food drive, and then tried to argue that it was “all about charity, not the ladies personally.” Cynthia complains that Porsha should be grateful she came to any of her stuff, considering that it’s Porsha who no one likes or wants to support. SIGH.
I adore Cynthia sometimes, but she is a spineless Jell-O model of a person and needs to get her saran wrap off Kenya. Furthermore Cynthia had just been complaining that since Kenya got married she blows everyone off with piss-poor excuses – like bailing on dinner with Cynthia and Kandi for basically no reason.
Shamea is also offended that Kenya was so brusque and rude to her at Habitat. Cynthia, to take the heat off herself, encourages Shamea to share her feelings with Kenya. Boy was that some WRONG advice. Kenya must’ve been hangry, and that will teach you to roll into a restaurant late, because when she FINALLY arrived the kitchen was closed and no one even had a leftover bone for her to gnaw on. So she gnawed on Shamea instead.
Shamea fell right into a trap of taking Cynthia’s advice and mentioned how “rude” and “dismissive” Kenya was of her efforts to help. If Shamea wanted to see rude and dismissive, though, Kenya decided to show her! She interrupted Shamea to demand more water (she’s thirsty!) and continued cutting her off to snark her feelings weren’t valid since it was about charity. When Porsha jumped in to help Shamea make her point, Kenya brushed her off too. Except even Cynthia agreed that just maybe “people thought you were rude.” So what does this mature married woman do? She stormed away form the table and hid in the bathroom, screaming at a producer.
As she stomped away, Kenya grumbled about ‘f–king stupid bitches,’ who she doesn’t need because she is a wife, and her husband doesn’t want himself her embarrassed. Kenya believes that being a wife is now the single most important defining factor of her life. Maybe because she has waited so long to get married, but she puts so much stock into what is essentially a word. And they don’t even live together!
I assume Marc wants Kenya to leave RHOA, but it also sounds like he (or she) also wants Kenya to leave her personal identity behind and become a different person overnight. Kenya thinks she makes him sound like this dream man, but instead he sounds like an egotistical ass.
Kenya rants that Shamea is trying to diminish all the good she did, by focusing on herself, and Kenya will not have that! The focus must stay on how much Kenya helped! She insists the women undermine her on purpose. Back at the table everyone is shocked.
Porsha decides to check on her, and Kenya practically slams the door in her face because “this isn’t a moment.” The moment is instead Kenya storming out of the restaurant! In the parking lot, Cynthia tries to speak with her but Kenya rolls the window up in her face and refuses. She’s got Marc to do, and nothing else.
Shamea is married, but she doesn’t go around screaming that she is a WIFE and therefore gets to act out however much she pleases, cause her husband says no one is allowed to be rude to her.
If we thought Krayonce was crazy, Mrs. Daly is next level. And I thought this was supposed to be about helping people, not ourselves?
Back in Atlanta, our Love During Lockup installment includes Sheree telling Tyrone that she believes the only reason NeNe has an elephant with her is over him. Tyrone, in exchange, warns that NeNe should step carefully – he knows things. Word on the street things! Have prison time; will gossip!
Allegedly NeNe once tried to “pursue” Tyrone, even inviting him to the Celebrity Apprentice set and following him to an out of town location – NeNe may or may not have been separated from Gregg during this time! But what’s a little thing like investigating the truth matter to Sheree and Tyrone? Luckily for Sheree (and NeNe), NeNe is not the Tyrone’s type. NeNe is not enough of a push-over. And he only has eyes for Sheree’s chateau booty.
Finally, Kandi is still having issues with Riley and Block, but Kandi and Block talked and decided they needed to communicate better to set the example for Riley that she is allowed to have a relationship with her father. It was very grown-up, but poor Riley – Block is still a jerk.
P.S. Seeing Houston was so humbling and it actually made me – a person whose heart has turned black from years of Housewives of exposure – cry. So any good the ladies did there, however small and misguided, was still ultimately a good deed.
