In addition to all of its other consequences, coronavirus has also derailed some of our favorite reality TV shows. Yes, we are all well-aware that this isn’t the most critical result of the virus, but this is a reality TV website, after all. Additionally, there are many people whose livelihoods depend on filming those shows. There are lots of crew members, hair and makeup artists, the restaurants that cater events. And, of course, there are the viewers who just want to watch their favorite (and least favorite) cast members in action.
In March, Andy Cohen confirmed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 reunion was postponed due to coronavirus concerns. He has emphasized many times over that it was “postponed,” not canceled. After that, Andy tested positive for coronavirus. Understandably, he took some time to rest and recuperate. Additionally, Andy said that it just wouldn’t be the same to film the show via video chat. However, this pandemic is still happening. Businesses are shut down. People are isolated at home. We don’t truly know how long this will last. Could it be time to switch up the format and just give in to the video chat? Apparently, we will be getting the RHOA reunion sooner rather than later.
Page Six reported that Kandi Burruss spilled some RHOA reunion scoop on a recent Instagram Live session. Apparently, Kandi shared, “They let us know the other day that we are going to be … we’re going to have to do, I guess, an online type of reunion situation.”
She also dished on the cast group chat. She reportedly said, “Some of the girls was going back and forth, you would’ve thought it had been a reunion on the text messages. I said, ‘damn! Can ya’ll save all this for the actual reunion? We don’t get paid for your text messages to be all out of pocket,’ you know what I mean? It’s a mess!” Oh, Kandi, always thinking about her coins.
In her Instagram Live session last night (Yes, I actually watched. It’s quarantine. Let me live), NeNe Leakes claimed that she had no idea about the online reunion when a fan asked her about it.
Was she being coy? Did she just not read her emails (i.e. the likely scenario)? Or is Kandi’s information false?
We will find out for sure soon enough.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is the unrefined spinoff of its highly successful counterpart, Below Deck. Yes, the boat is beautiful, and yes any of us plebs would be lucky to charter it. But it’s hardly the same luxury experience that we’ve seen previously. It would interest a sailing enthusiast, and that’s certainly a reason to tune in.
The views are breathtaking, but the parties and excursions have been a little underwhelming. Crew drama is really what keeps us coming back for more. And this bunch is bickering and imploding. Madison Stalker and Parker McCown are mouthing off to their superiors which gives Chief Stew Jenna MacGillivray lots of fodder to then snark over with Chef Adam Glick. Tensions are building for sure, and will escalate into larger conflicts.
Bravo released the mid-season trailer and it’s more of business as usual within the crew. Madison seems to be imploding further. Clearly, Parker isn’t taking her sexual advances seriously because she is filmed shouting, “I’m done with being on a boat where everyone’s couple, couple, couple.”
Jenna is still not happy with Madison’s work and snarks, “I honestly feel like I’ve been carrying you and Georgia [Grobler] and it fucking sucks.” Madison responded in a post-production interview saying, “I get it, you want to suck Adam’s dick. But it’s also like, be professional.”
Of course, Adam picked up on Madison’s disdain of the sexual innuendo that goes on his galley. His impression of Madison was largely shaped by Jenna’s critiques of her. But his opinion of her doesn’t improve. Adam’s is filmed shouting, “can you go a day without creating some kind of drama?”
Adam doesn’t even have a positive opinion of Jenna by the end of the season. They are filmed breaking up and Adam decides that, “it’s over. I’m going to hop in my van and drive away.” Umm, was there anything there to begin with? Adam’s mind has been proverbially hopping into his van since he set foot on board. Poor Jenna is left crying and declaring herself, “definitely naive.”
Maybe there will be some romance on board as the bickering, expired relationship of Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan takes an unexpected turn. Ciara seems to be enticing Georgia for a threesome. Who knows if that will actually go down.
But in a different scene, Georgia confesses some deeper feelings to Paget. She said, “you mean a lot more to me than I think you realize.” Oh, the intrigue!
Finally, there is the discovery of cocaine on the boat. This happened once in Below Deck history and Captain Lee Rosbach simply unloaded the guests at the nearest port. This time, it may not be a charter guest. The footage is spliced to show a lineup of crew members as Captain Glenn Shephard says, “I would be very surprised if somebody flew to Corfu with cocaine.”
Captain Glenn also indicates that he is considering firing a crew member. Likely candidates are Parker or Madison.

Real Housewives of New Jersey fans learned the sad news that Giacinto Gorga, the father of Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga, passed away on April 3. It was clear that Giacinto, known as “Nonno,” had struggled with health issues recently. Both Melissa Gorga, and Teresa had asked fans to pray for the beloved patriarch of the Gorga family.
Nonno was a part of RHONJ from the very beginning. Nonno loved being in the kitchen. He could boil an octopus like nobody’s business, and I loved seeing him cook with his granddaughters. Ever since the death of Nonno’s wife, Antonia, Nonno had been living with Teresa and her four daughters. He was a huge part of their lives, and a support during Joe Giudice’s incarceration and deportation woes.
Now some of Nonno’s grandchildren are speaking out about their loss. (Please excuse the grammar in some of the posts.) Milania Giudice posted a loving message on Instagram. “rest easy my angel I love you endlessly thank you for all the laughs and count less memories. you will forever be missed,” Milania said. “you brighten every room you walked into. thank you for being my best friend. I love you nonno.” Milania included a heart emoji and a picture of the two of them together.
Teresa’s eldest daughter, Gia Giudice, wrote on her Instagram, “he really did light up every room he walked into with that smile of his. today I lost my best friend but gained a beautiful guardian angel that will look over me forever.. thank you for being my rock and best friend throughout my entire life,” she said. That is so sweet.
“I will think about you everyday, and you will forever be in my heart.. fly high my angel and give nonna a big hug for me as you celebrate life with her. take a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue for me I love you forever Nonno.”
RHONJ star Joe Gorga’s daughter, Antonia Gorga, expressed her feelings on Instagram also. She wrote, “Rest In Peace nonno. Love you so much. you are the strongest person I know. Cutest and happiest soul. you were the best. Gonna miss you so much.” Along with a photo, Antonia included heart and praying hands emojis.
Gabriella Giudice is the most private of Teresa and Joe Giudice’s daughters, and she doesn’t have a public social media account. Audriana Giudice, Joey Gorga, and Gino Gorga do have public Instagram accounts, but as of this writing, nothing had been posted yet. That isn’t surprising given their young ages and the sad situation they are currently in.
In Teresa’s Instagram post announcing her father’s death, she summed up Nonno’s life philosophy. “You always wanted everyone to have a good time, eat great food, have a stiff drink and enjoy life.” Nonno will truly be missed, and we send our sympathy to the Gorga/Giudice families.

Sonja Morgan is never one to hold back. The Real Housewives of New York star puts her whole life and all of her opinions out there. It’s just one reason I love Sonja so much and will never get tired of her. Oh, and the dancing on tables and falling off a chair. It’s as charming as it is messy. The first episode of RHONY this season was a little gloomy for Sonja with her daughter leaving for college and Sonja finding herself all alone. But I’m confident she will bounce back with some fun for us as the season goes on. And she did give us some of her typical Sonja shenanigans by insisting on biting into her sandwich mid-hug with Luann de Lesseps. That is the kind of content we need right now.
While Sonja and her kookiness usually take center stage, I also feel like Sonja has always been very nice and welcoming to new cast members. But one person she doesn’t seem to take to is newcomer, Leah McSweeney. Sonja seems to have some unfiltered opinions to share about her already.
Sonja recently shared her thoughts about Leah with the Daily Mail. She said, “I always say Ramona’s [Singer] an itch I can’t scratch. This girl’s like a rash… the new girl.” Oop. You know it’s never a good sign when a housewife refers to a castmate as “this girl”.
Despite Leah saying that she got along pretty well with the cast, Sonja wasn’t exactly following along with that sentiment. She also referred to Leah as a “youngin.”
Sonja admits, “Well, you’re going to see a lot this season about what I have to say about Miss Leah, but one thing I can say she’s a bonafide New Yorker. This girl is tried-and-true a real New Yorker.” Sounds like Sonja is teasing that there is going to be some drama between them as the season goes on.
Sonja explains that Leah was always supposed to join the season 12 cast, even before Bethenny Frankel quit the show. Sonja is still Bethenny’s biggest supporter. She shares, “Leah was coming in before Bethenny told us she was leaving. Let’s get that straight. My girl B is never replaceable. And you all know that.” Yes, we do know that.
While it sounds like Sonja knows that this season will be different without Bethenny. There seems to be no shortage of drama either. I can’t wait for the next episode.

If I’m being honest, I was pretty happy about Vicki Gunvalson’s firing from Real Housewives of Orange County. She’s been insufferable for many seasons and I will never forgive her for her part in a cancer scam. I don’t care how many times she screams through the streets of Key West that she was “conned.” Vicki claims to be a “smart woman.” Why wouldn’t she know what was going on?
After being demoted to a Friend of the Housewives role last season, she brought as much drama as humanly possible. This was most likely in a ploy to win back her orange full time. But spreading train rumors about Kelly Dodd wasn’t enough to save her. Neither was her suspiciously timed engagement to long term boyfriend, Steve Lodge. Too bad even that isn’t going as planned.
Vicki recently told HollywoodLife that her April wedding is postponed due to coronavirus. When asked if she was busy wedding planning, Vicki responded, “No. We’re doing nothing. I told him the wedding’s off. We’re doing nothing.”
She quickly clarifies that the wedding isn’t off, just delayed. Vicki said, “’m still engaged. But, we were going to go get married in April and try to get as many of our six kids together and all of that.”
Vicki also wouldn’t commit to a rescheduled date for the wedding. She admits, “We’re still going to get married,” but she’s not “rushing to get down the aisle right now.” For now, Vicki is totally focused on her business, COTO Insurance and Financial Services, “There’s a lot more I’ve got to do which is keep this business and my staff who’s not here right now,” she explained.
Vicki isn’t the only Bravo star that has had their wedding plans affected by coronavirus. Vanderpump Rules cast member Lala Kent recently opened up about her April wedding to Randall Emmett getting canceled. Stassi Schroeder’s October wedding to Beau Clark is under the threat of postponement.
I would never wish ill on someone’s special day. Still, I can live without whooping it up for Vicki’s wedding anytime soon.

Love is Blind is long over but the revelations coming out of the show are still going strong! While some couples, like Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes, didn’t make it or even stay in contact after the show, others thrived and are still together.
One such couple is Amber Pike and Matt Barnett. To be honest, I really didn’t think this couple was even going to say “I do”. Between Amber’s immaturity and financial problems, to Barnett’s family seemingly turning their nose up at Amber, it just didn’t seem like a good match from the start. But I’ve been wrong before and I will be wrong again – right now actually. Amber and Barnett are still going strong. Now, they’re dishing about some of the drama they faced behind the scenes of the show.
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Amber admits that they thought she might have conceived after getting intimate on their pre-honeymoon in Mexico. She says of the incident, “Yeah. Surprise, world! It was a very close call, there was almost a Love Is Blind baby.”
She continues, “Literally, when we got back from Mexico, we had already had our first pregnancy scare. Because I was two weeks late, and it turns out it was just because of all of the stress of the show and planning the wedding, and I was freaking out.” Barnett adds, “I was freaking out, as well.”
Either way, the couple remains together and better than ever, despite the show being filmed almost two years ago. And even though they weren’t prepared for a baby back then, Amber is already looking ahead when it comes to kids. She joked on the show that she wanted to have 18 kids and says, “I told Matt I was willing to birth three and he could give birth to the rest of them.”
It’s unclear if they kept this a secret from production or if they knew about it and it never aired. I’m going to assume it was the former. The producers probably wanted every single ounce of drama they could get out of these couples.
But pregnancy scare aside, it sounds like Amber and Barnett have settled into married life nicely. Apparently, they are enjoying time with their dog and spending their self-quarantine watching plenty of movies. Barnett also enjoys playing Call of Duty while Amber likes to read romance novels. They have no baby plans as of yet but with all this isolation, it wouldn’t be crazy if we did get that Love Is Blind baby 9 months from now.

The Real Housewives of New York is finally back and there’s a new housewife on the block. Episode one jumped right in with the introduction of Leah McSweeney, RHONY’s newest cast member. I think we are all holding our breath this season, wondering if it’s going to be the same without OG Bethenney Frankel. But so far, I’m impressed with Leah’s willingness to jump right in.
The 37-year-old fashion brand owner (let’s face it, we can’t call her a fashion designer) jumped right in to defend Tinsley Mortimer during her fight with Dorinda Medley. She also told us she loves being single and completely shot down Sonja Morgan’s attempt at setting up a love connection with a young, attractive suitor at Dorinda’s party. Leah told the audience that he seems like the type of guy that erm, doesn’t know how to find a woman’s anatomy when it comes to sex. Tell us how you really feel, Leah. It’s clear from the first episode, along with a look ahead at the season, that Leah isn’t going to be shy or boring.
Another thing Leah doesn’t hold back on is her colorful past. Like Tinsley, she also has a mugshot after being arrested for a scuffle with NYC cops back in 2002. Leah admits that she is embarrassed that the world is seeing her mugshot. Nevertheless, nothing compares to when her 12-year-old daughter, Kier, came across it while working on a school project.
Leah tells People, “I guess for a school project she needed a photo of me, and she Googled me, which I should have told her never to do that. And she was basically like, ‘Mom, why do you have a mugshot?’ So I had to tell her.”
According to Leah, another source of embarrassment is her appearance in her mug shot. She jokes, “Literally, the worst photo of me ever. People are going to think I had reconstructive face surgery, which I have not had, it’s so bad. It’s just such a weird photo that is distorted-looking. And it doesn’t even look like what I looked like then, you know? Oh my god.”
Lucky for Leah, that arrest resulted in a $75k lawsuit against police. She was awarded $75k and turned that money into her women’s wear line, Married to the Mob. 14 years after it’s inception, the line is reaching distribution in over 100 retailers and has recently relaunched its e-commerce site online.
Either way, Leah isn’t going to let one little arrest define her as a person or a mother. She claims that her daughter isn’t too bothered by the phone and says, “She doesn’t think anything of it. She’s like her mom, in that sense. Not much phases us New Yorkers.” I’m ready to see how true that is for Leah this season on RHONY.
