So far, Karen Huger has stayed on the periphery of the drama this season on Real Housewives of Potomac. She’s taking on that (faux) peacemaker role with some subtle instigation. Did she throw Robyn Dixon under the bus when she broadcast their private conversation to the entire cast? Or was she just putting her feelings out in the open so they can be resolved?
It’s debatable, but for the most part, Karen is pretty unscathed this season as she tries her hardest to be the queen of Potomac- a show that the Real Housewives fandom has not fully embraced. And that includes having opinions about everything and everyone.

Karen broke down the last RHOP episode in her Bravo blog post. As expected, she defended her conversation with Robyn and said, “It’s beyond absurd to me that Gizelle [Bryant] would be feeling a particular way about Robyn choosing to speak to me about their troubled friendship. She came to the right person! Robyn came to the Grande Dame to vent. Who else?” Oh, I don’t know, maybe to Gizelle herself. Or is that just too logical?
I do agree with this part though: “The writing was on the wall – these two needed to talk one on one NOW NOT LATER. Gizelle needs to seize this opportunity, save her friendship and thank me later.” Gizelle throwing away her friendship with her only ally on the show is pretty stupid, especially when she insults the rest of the cast to their faces and behind their backs. She really needed to sort things out with Robyn so she could have someone to back her up for the rest of the season.
Karen offers nothing but encouragement for Ashley Darby after she talked about her marriage struggles during the last episode. Seriously though: not one bit of shade. Karen admitted, “I know that Ashley and I have had our differences but I do consider her a friend. It’s never a good thing to hear a friend’s marriage is in trouble. Marriage isn’t easy, its work. I’ve been married quite some time and if there were any words of wisdom I could give Ashley it would be to figure out what’s really more important, the business or their marriage. If the marriage is the priority, then fight for your marriage.”
She was also pretty gracious when she touched Monique Samuels and her combative mother-in-law. She wrote, “Monique knows where she stands in her marriage. Chris [Samuels] has made it clear he loves her and she comes first. Mrs. Samuels is Chris’s Mom and you only get one Mom. It’s very smart of Monique to allow Mrs. Samuels to have her say today. I’m with Monique on this one – More Wine Please!!!!!”

Oprah Winfrey is a force, both on screen and off. The media mogul has everybody buzzing with her new acting role in HBO's The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. In the film, Winfrey plays...I have always lived for Sonja Morgan and her antics, but I don’t know what she’s thinking this season on Real Housewives of New York. She’s still not over Dorinda Medley rescinding her invite to that Christmas party in the Berkshires last year. She is not strong enough to battle Dorinda. This is a major mistake. On the bright side, I’m sure Dorinda is going to bless us all with epic one-liners when she shuts her down.
Not only that, but Sonja is weirdly confused that Luann de Lesseps doesn’t want her at her wedding after trashing her relationship and constantly bringing up that she had a sexual relationship with her man. I’m not shipping the Luann and Tom D’Agostino relationship either, but there’s no reason that Sonja should have been invited to that wedding.

Sonja attempted to justify her Berkshires-induced vendetta in her Bravo blog. She wrote, “It’s not that it was one night at Dorinda’s. These are my good friends, and we were going back for a second Christmas trip together. It’s one thing to say you know someone for 10 years and another to be a tight friend group and really close friends. And this is my group that travels together, too. It hurt, and the excuses were flimsy.”
Thankfully Sonja admitted, “I do tend to be over-reactive in these situations, however, I don’t want to be without Dorinda in my life, so I want to move on. Two bads don’t make a right, and it didn’t make me feel better excluding her at my home for the Madhatter and introducing her to another friend. It made me feel bad.”
And then there’s that stripper photo which Dorinda decided to whip out while she was hanging with Luann, Luann’s daughter… and the camera crew. Sonja complained, “Dorinda should not pretend she’s never been to a bachelorette party with a stripper.” She continued, “And everyone cheered me on to go last with the stripper, including the bride-to-be, Luann, with her whip flapping away. I don’t need to drink to have a good time. I was just being a good guest.” I just want to know why the bachelorette party wasn’t filmed for an episode? I would die to see the (former) countess whipping a sober Sonja in the presence of a stripper.
Sonja wondered, “What does Dorinda mean Luann needs to stick up for her as if I’m mean to her? Not my MO. I just like to have a greeeat tiiiime and try not to stick my foot in it. LOL.”
Sonja tried to justify Ramona Singer’s shit stirring with Bethenny Frankel: “I think Ramona is just trying to insert herself into her new bestie B’s life again since her recovery.” Or undermine her for camera time.
Sonja claimed, “She was there during her illness, and Ramona loves to be a caretaker. I can see she feels on the outside now when she brings up the dogs. As if Bethenny would include her in the monumental occasion and ask her advice and so on. That’s Ramona.” Still, Sonja admitted, “However, Ramona delivers it in a manner that seems like she just wants to hurt you. And it’s also rude. Not everyone gets her.” That’s for sure.
She finished up the blog by questioning Dorinda: “On some Facebook group? That’s like someone believing the news they read on Facebook. I mean, who really has time to dig this stuff up? Get a life, ladies. I’m sure it’s not in quotes. I am not talking about Dorinda’s and moved past that a while ago. I miss her wit and charm, and I was hoping she misses me at this point. But I guess not.”
She teased, “Let’s see what happens next week. As the stomach turns.”
