Venus had said he would be having a very personal sit down with Lisa during Season 12, which finally arrived during Episode 10. He was doing a photo shoot at Villa Rosa for Gay Pride as he was hosting an event at SUR. And that’s when Lisa pulled him aside to see how he was doing.
He told Lisa that he was having issues getting back into the dating pool. This was because of the trauma he had growing up, where he was scared people would find out he was gay. Venus shared, “Once I did come out of the closet, I felt so rejected by everyone around me I ended up threatening to kill myself, and I got sent to a mental hospital.”
This prompted Lisa to share her story about her brother committing suicide. Venus said, “I understand that feeling, and I don’t want anyone to feel that way.”
He said in his confessional, “I’ve related with suicidal thoughts my entire life because I grew up on a f*cking farm, gay, and everyone tormented me for it. And I just felt trapped in a box of people trying to define me as someone I wasn’t.”
But hosting Pride made Venus feel like he was living a dream come true. He told Lisa, “This pride, it will be a good experience to really feel how I’ve always wanted to feel.” Lisa smiled and said, “Now that is the Venus that I want to know.”

The new season of Summer House kicked off with Kyle and Amanda riding up to the Hamptons separately. And the tension between them was so bad that both Carl Radke and Ciara Miller checked in on them.
Kyle didn’t give Carl any real answers as to what was going on. He just felt he couldn’t make Amanda happy. However, during Season 10, Episode 2, Kyle finally opened up to Carl about the issues in his life.
He mentioned he was dealing with a lot of anxiety and felt ashamed he talked about his relationship with Amanda to people he just met. But it all boiled down to the stress he was dealing with regarding his Loverboy business.
Kyle shared, “It’s just like when I’m catching up with you and I’m catching up with friends, I’m not gonna unload on them weekend one and just be like, ‘Oh, by the way, to save my business, I had to put $500 thousand in. Oh, by the way, I stopped paying myself a salary at Loverboy, so that’s one of the reasons why I started DJing, to pay the bills.’”
Kyle explained more in his confessional. He stated, “In the last six months we’ve actually seen decline in distribution, which means declines in revenue. So, I stopped taking a salary at Loverboy to kind of prolong our cash reserves … I get that I decided to travel a lot to DJ … but when I do make an effort with Amanda, I don’t really feel like it’s reciprocated, and it’s eating me alive.”

Last week, things backfired for Angelica when she told the group that Chris and Jason’s OnlyFans video was “incestuous.” The cousins explained the video description was spicy to get clicks, but the content was not. This turned everyone in the group against her, including Shayne, who decided to end things. Unfortunately for him, Angelica didn’t quite get the message. Gay Pride was on the horizon, and Venus was ecstatic to be chosen to run SUR’s Pride event. When he showed up at Lisa’s for a photo shoot for the occasion, he opened up to her about the struggles he had growing up gay. Meanwhile, Kim and Marcus were back together for the 100th time and discussed the possibilities of parenthood. But while they were going strong, Audrey and Chris were not. Audrey decided she and Chris should just be friends, which left Chris wondering where it all went wrong.
Venus opens up to Lisa about his past

Kim and Natalie were back to being friends, for now. The two met up for a boxing class, which was the perfect place for them to punch out any remaining animosity they had towards one another.
Afterwards, they FaceTimed Angelica to check in on her, as she just had a boob job. Angelica said all was well and she’d be back at the end of the week. Natalie scoffed in her confessional, “It’s super convenient for Angelica that she was dropping bombs on Chris and Jason in Paso, avoiding any accountability. And now she gets to disappear to Houston for a week to get new boobs. I’m assuming it’s a lot cheaper than in Beverly Hills.” The shade!
Meanwhile, Venus, Jason, Chris, and Marcus got to experience the magic that is Villa Rosa. Venus was chosen to host SUR’s Gay Pride event and took them there for a photo shoot. While Chris daydreamed how he could end up with Lisa, Venus caught up with the queen herself.
He told Lisa their trip went well, but he had a hard time talking with guys. Venus shared this was because he was scared growing up that others would find out he was gay. He said, “Once I did come out of the closet, I felt so rejected by everyone around me, I ended up threatening to kill myself, and I got sent to a mental hospital.”
This hit home to Lisa, who shared that her brother had committed suicide. In her confessional she said, “You get used to it, but you never get over it. It does define me.” However, Venus was happy with where he was at now. He said, “This pride, it will be a good experience to really feel how I’ve always wanted to feel.”
Jason gets demoted at SUR

All the hard work and studying Jason had done for his new role as a SURver was finally put to the test. It was his first day off training, although you wouldn’t know it according to Demy. In her confessional she said, “Jason has been training for a really long time. Like four times longer than normal people. It’s probably because he’s making so much money on his OnlyFans doing weird things with his cousin.”
His first table was none other than Lisa and Ken. When Lisa quizzed Jason as to what was in the eggplant dish and the crab cakes, Jason was ready for her. He confidently responded, “eggplant,” and that the crab cakes were in “cake form.” Is he wrong? Still, Lisa decided to banish him to the host stand. Which will make things quite interesting once Angelica comes back.
Across town, Audrey met up with her friend Parker to discuss the doubts she was having about her relationship with Chris. Was she ignoring the red flags right in front of her? Still, the two had a date at Universal Studios, and she wasn’t about to drop a free trip to the park, so she met up with him anyways.
They both looked cute in their Harry Potter wizard robes: Audrey in Hufflepuff and Chris in Gryffindor. Everything seemed fine as they wandered Diagon Alley, drinking their butterbeer and picking out wands. But when Chris couldn’t do a simple “Ventus” spell that Audrey did in one go, Audrey knew what she had to do.
However, Chris was oblivious to the inner turmoil in Audrey’s mind. He had visions of Audrey being the Hermione to his Ron. But those were quickly cast away once Audrey dropped the bad news.
Marcus and Kim talked marriage and babies

Any magic Chris had felt towards Audrey was quickly squashed once she put him in the friend zone. She wanted Chris to be more romantic, and he just wasn’t giving her that vibe. So, she told him she wanted to take a step back.
Chris was shook. In his confessional he said, “If I had to bet my life on it, I would have 100% assumed that she wanted to be with me. Maybe I completely just misjudged this whole situation.”
Meanwhile, Marcus and Kim were in a good place this week, so naturally that meant they should have the conversation about getting married and having kids. The plan was to get engaged and married in the next few years and then have kids. But the kids might come sooner rather than later because Kim had stopped using birth control. Oop.
Jason left the host stand to go visit Shayne on the set of his latest “vertical micro drama.” Because apparently no one can sit through a two-hour movie anymore. Shayne introduced Jason to the crew in the hopes he could start acting in these too.
Afterwards, the two chatted about Natalie and Angelica. Although Shayne was still attracted to Natalie, he wasn’t going to get in Jason’s way if he was vibing with her. Shayne dished that he ended things with Angelica but might change his mind once he sees her new boobs. Facepalm.
Jason said in his confessional, “Look, a boob job can’t enhance personality. That takes f*cking therapy. To this day, Angelica has not given me a genuine apology. We like to call that in Jersey, ‘Fake as f*ck.’”

Venus had another heart-to-heart about his struggles, this time with Parker and Ryan over at TomTom. However, things were good now between Venus and his parents. He said he talked to his mom every day, and his dad even watched old episodes of VPR to talk about them with Venus. Progress!
The next day everyone met up at the beach for McKenna’s birthday. And things were awkward between Chris and Audrey, to say the least. Chris was still in shock and felt that “the math wasn’t mathing.” And Audrey was still confused.
After a slo-mo eighties-style montage of the group playing beach volleyball, they all headed over to the bar. Natalie whipped out her lip gloss for a makeout session with Jason and Alison, McKenna’s friend.
As that went on, Chris pulled Audrey aside and did his best Jerry Maguire “you complete me” speech. He said, “I don’t want to just hook up with someone and have fun … I want something real … and I’m not good at this sh*t because I’ve been so focused on myself.”
He added, “I really started thinking about possibly having a future with you and seeing where things actually go. I want you. I want us, I f*cking like you a lot. And I want to prove that.”
Audrey was momentarily swayed. She shared in her confessional, “I believe him, I think? I hope he’s worth a second chance.”

Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 2. Last week, we kicked off the summer with newbies Bailey, Levi, KJ, and Ben joining the fold. And they seemed to fit in with the group just fine. Ciara also vowed to be kinder to West, which left him hopeful they could be friends once again. However, things were not quite as harmonious between Amanda and Kyle, who were immediately at odds on day one. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 2: “Stoned Cold Truth.”

The drama between Amanda and Kyle continued when Amanda was upset that Kyle talked to everyone about their issues but her. So, Kyle continued to make things worse by doing just that. He also opened up to Carl about the stress he was having from financial struggles with Loverboy. Amanda and Ciara popped by to see Lindsay, who was living her best mom life. And Ciara introduced Mia, but her intro was overshadowed by Kyle crashing out when Amanda wouldn’t accept his apology for airing out all their dirty laundry to the group.
There’s more to Ben than meets the eye

The fourth of July party wrapped up with Kyle still mad at Amanda for semi-skinny-dipping in the pool. Amanda thought Kyle was overreacting, as they’ve been skinny dipping with the group for a decade. She said in her confessional, “He wants me to be more fun, but he doesn’t like when I’m having fun … I feel like I can’t win.”
But the show must go on, so the group went to a bar. Kyle wore a “second place ribbon,” which seemed to be a not-so-subtle dig at Amanda regarding where he felt she valued him.
As Ben told stories of his time on The Bachelor, Bailey cranked her flirt up to 11. In his confessional, Ben said that kind of attention made him blush because he was raised in a religious household.
He explained, “That kind of attention is just kind of like it’s uncomfortable. Which is crazy because I’ve been modeling for a long time. But there’s a bit more than meets the eye. I’m actually quite a private person believe it or not.”
Meanwhile, Jesse asked Kyle if he got “spicy” with Amanda for wearing her bra in the pool. He was surprised because he’d never seen Kyle act jealous before. Kyle admitted he needed to talk to Amanda, but then he went right back to gossiping about her.
He dished she smoked “weed every night” and implied they weren’t intimate. On top of that, he claimed she lived like she was on “Hoarders.” Oh, boy.
Amanda’s ears were burning, and she wandered over. Kyle complained she didn’t pay him any attention. Amanda responded, “That’s not true. You want to talk about companionship and communication? There’s nothing more uncomfortable for me than everyone knowing about how you feel except for me.”
Lindsay was living her best #momlife

When everyone got home, Ben was shocked at how sloshed Kyle was. Carl joked, “This is nothing.” But Carl was worried. He said in his confessional, “I would take my shirt off for Kyle … But he’s going through a harder time than any of us I think fully realize … there’s something about this summer that seems different. Because I feel like he’s crumbling and I just don’t know how to help him.”
The next morning Bailey couldn’t stop gushing to Levi about how gorgeous Ben was. But Levi had a warning for Bailey. She said, “The problem with this man is he’s so nice to everyone and makes fabulous eye contact with every single person.” Then she added, “But he’s not flirting with you, I don’t think.” Ouch!
Then it was back to the city for the crew. And that meant it was time to catch up with Lindsay. She told Ciara and Amanda she was living her best mom life … which meant having no life. But that didn’t mean she was out of the loop entirely.
Lindsay shared that Kyle had called her and said he felt alone in his relationship. Amanda explained she had asked him to stay home more and then he decided to be a DJ and was out partying all the time. Then she spilled some major tea that left Lindsay and Ciara shook.
Amanda said, “Then on top of that there’s constant rumors … There was a night where he went out with his brother. His brother went home. Kyle fell asleep at some like fan’s apartment that was having a house party and came home at 6:30am.” She added, “I can’t be putting up with it forever.”
Kyle was feeling the stress from Loverboy

We learned a bit more about Bailey and her online show “it girl.” Bailey is all about fashion TV and getting fashion perspectives from us normies out on the street. Bailey explained, “This is an online show for online girls.” And Bailey was doing quite well, much to her ex’s dismay.
Meanwhile, Carl peacefully watered his plants using a MacKenzie-Childs teapot. That is so Carl. But the peace was interrupted when Kyle stopped by with some tea to spill of his own.
Kyle said his behavior boiled down to the stress from Loverboy. He shared, “I’m not looking to make excuses, but, I think it stemmed from me going into the weekend realizing how much pressure I’m under with Loverboy.”
Kyle continued, “It’s just like when I’m catching up with you and I’m catching up with friends. I’m not gonna unload on them weekend one and just be like, ‘Oh, by the way, to save my business, I had to put $500 thousand in. Oh, by the way, I stopped paying myself a salary at Loverboy, so that’s one of the reasons why I started DJing, to pay the bills. But that’s what I’ve been up to these last couple months.’”
Carl advised Kyle he did not want what happened to him and Lindsay to happen to him and Amanda. Although the signs were there, Kyle was oblivious.
He said, “We’re not on the brink of collapse. I adore her, I love her, I can’t even imagine my life without her. But I think what is messing with my head is just like the way she talks about the status quo. She still pushes a lot of the responsibility of our issues on me.” And Amanda was not going to be happy to hear that.
Mia walked into World War Three

It was back to the Hamptons and West came dressed to impress in Great Gatsby style pants. Carl said, “Look at this guy! Are you wearing … pleats?”
Ciara pulled up with her bestie, Mia. Mia is a realtor who used to work at the The Box. She shared that she and Ciara are opposites. Mia joked, “I’m like the kindergartner, and Ciara is the edgy cool high school girl.”
While Mia tried to meet everyone, the tension between Kyle and Amanda continued to boil over when Amanda learned Kyle had been kicked out of a venue last weekend. Jesse and West tried to cover for Kyle, but when Amanda shut them down, Kyle told her to “dial it down.” Oh, naur…
After Ciara had another heart-to-heart with KJ (as West jealously watched on), everyone sat down for dinner. Kyle stated he wanted to apologize for airing out their dirty laundry. Amanda and Ciara gave each other side-eye. Amanda wanted a one-on-one apology, not him talking to the group yet again.
Kyle explained, “Maybe sometimes I just want to speak to everyone because we’re all in this house together. And it would be great if people could be a little respectful at times, Ciara.” When Amanda told him to back off, Kyle quipped, “I’m literally just trying to have a heartfelt moment and you’re laughing at me.”
This led Kyle to crash out, running away from the table and slamming the door behind him.
