Survivor: David vs. Goliath Episode 9 Recap: ‘Goliath-Strong For Too Long’

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! There’s a lot to be thankful for when it comes to this season of Survivor. Season 37 continues to provide us viewers with a scrumptious assortment of tasty treats, week in and week out! After last week’s epic, earth-shattering blindside, you would think that this week couldn’t possibly live up to it. You’d be wrong! Tonight was just as exciting and just as great an episode. Survivor: David vs. Goliath is firing on all cylinders right now. Let’s feast on what went down during tonight’s episode! And yes, you can expect a few more food references as we inch dangerously close to my favorite holiday. Sorry Christmas, you don’t serve stuffing!).

As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 9 of Survivor: David vs. Goliath. If you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap. It is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Like seriously, Survivor, you need to stop doing this to me! For two straight weeks now, the Tribal Council has left me fidgeting in my chair. I am a complete nervous wreck, shouting at the TV as if I am watching a football game. Tonight, my wife just repeated, “OMG! OMG! OMG!” I marveled at how consistently unpredictable this season has been. It’s a real rarity for Survivor – as good as it always is. The season is keeping us veteran fans of the show on our toes. They’ve thrown us so many red herrings over the years that many of us can actually tell when and how they’re doing it. Not these last two weeks. Can this season seriously keep up at its current pace?

A quick note: Due to Thanksgiving, there will not be an exit interview on Thursday. However, the interview with Dan will take place next Monday. It will be up later that day. Look out for it!

Speaking of Dan, just ouch. It can’t be fun to go through the life owning the fact that he is the first person in Survivor history to play an Idol at Tribal and still go home. There was literally nothing he could have done. Nothing. Even dating back to last week.

What if Dan had not played his Idol on Angelina? He would have two Idols this week and still would have been sent home. Or at least I think he would have. Now that I think about it, would Jeff had let him play a SECOND Idol AFTER the Nullifyer was played? Hmmmm. He could have played his Idol(s) on anyone, thrown them in the fire, or  tried throwing them at Probst. Nevertheless, none of it would have mattered given the way that the Davids played this Tribal. The combo of Nick‘s steal-and-double-vote advantage and Carl‘s Idol Nullifyer proved to be an unstoppable one-two punch.

Has there ever been a more likable alliance than the current David Five? They are simply a well-oiled machine at this point. That scene where they shared their secrets with one another was just delicious. It was like mom’s green bean casserole (there I go again…drool…). They are playing selflessly right now. It actually hurts a little to imagine them turn on one another at some point down the road.

But one thing at a time…the Davids are desperately trying to even the score with the Goliaths. They finally did so by masterfully orchestrating the last two Tribal Councils. Not only are they now at 5-5 with the Goliaths, but Christian – allegedly the biggest target among them – comes through the other end with an Idol in his possession. It is currently the only one still in play. Fear not, there will be more Idols put in play and discovered as this season progresses.

Alison finally got some good screen-time tonight. Right out of the gate it appeared she was on-board to shake things up in a major way. She came full-circle by the end of the episode, as the Goliaths continue to try to play things safe. Alec and Kara tossed a few votes towards Angelina after a quick decision was made right before the vote. This was an act of last-minute desperation and in an attempt to salvage their games moving forward.

They’re hoping to tell the Davids, “See? We voted against a Goliath! You can trust us now!” But we know that they “missed the boat,” on making a big move, as someone earlier in the episode said. In their defense, Dan (and Mike) made good points. They explained that the Goliath who flips not only goes right to the bottom of the Davids, but they ruin the games of all of the other Goliaths. In turn, they would ruin their own games since they will lose all of those jury votes. But you came here to play, right? Well play then!

Episode Take-Away: It was another great episod. Just like that the two titans on the Goliath tribe, John and now Dan, see their torches snuffed. Of the remaining Goliaths, Mike and Alison seem the most screwed. Even though you don’t want to think about it yet, the Davids will, in fact, be forced to turn on each other at some point. One of them will need a Goliath to get further in the game. That’s the beauty of Survivor. But underdogs are always fun to root for. There has never been a more entertaining band of misfits than this remaining David clan. I’m rooting for so many different people and we are nine episodes in! It deserves repeating: This is such a great cast.

But don’t get too cocky if you’re a David fan. The work is not quite done. With the numbers at 5-5, next week becomes even more pivotal. As we saw in next week’s preview, Carl and Gabby are already in-fighting. That could just be the crack that one of the Goliaths needs. Don’t count Mike out yet. Although he’s been on the wrong side of things lately, he’s no turkey. Mmmmmmm. Turkey.

New Real Housewives Of Dallas Tonight: LeeAnne Claims She “Cloned” Brandi’s Phone

More people need to watch Real Housewives of Dallas. More happens in one episode of RHOD Season 3 than in an entire season with the Orange County Housewives. Yet here we are and Dallas is the redheaded step-child of the Real Housewives franchise. No, that is not a reference to Brandi Redmond’s ginger locks. All I’m saying is #JusticeForRHOD.

SMH, non-believers. This show is actually very good. I kid you not. Then again, I doubt that any non-believers are actually reading this. Anyway. So thank you to everyone who is.

The cast trip in Copenhagen concludes with Brandi storming out of the cast dinner. Have Brandi and LeeAnne Locken ever been in the same room without arguing? Has this happened one time this season? Yeah, I didn’t think so. According to an episode description from the Bravo website, D’Andra Simmons follows Brandi “close behind,” much to LeeAnne’s chagrin, I’m sure.

LeeAnne unveils her “L’Infinity,” which is actually a pretty brilliant concept, if well-executed. It’s a little black dress with different sleeves and other components that can be attached to turn one dress into many different looks. This is easily the most realistic Real Housewives invention in years.

In other “business” news,” Nicole Kidman Kameron Westcott “ponders the future of Sparkle Dog.” Yes, this is still a thing. She has a company that makes pink dog food. She also puts Cary Deuber on “friend probation,” whatever that means.

Then things get weird. LeeAnne says Brandi stole her phone. That’s not the strange part though. Then she apparently “cloned” Brandi’s phone in retaliation. Wait. What does that even mean? How does someone clone a phone? What am I missing here? Apparently a whole lot, but Real Housewives of Dallas is back with a new episode at 10 PM tonight on Bravo. Hopefully, I will get some answers.

New Real Housewives Of New Jersey Tonight: Teresa Giudice & Melissa Gorga Fight In Oklahoma

At this point, Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9 is all about Teresa Giudice vs. Melissa Gorga. Teresa’s father Giacinto Gorga told Joe Gorga and Melissa that he wishes he saw them more. They brushed off his claims. Teresa just repeated that same message and Joe and Melissa got super offended.

All Teresa wants is for her brother to see his father. However, it’s not really fair (or rational) to put the blame for Joe’s absence on his wife. Sure, it would be great if Melissa could persuade Joe to prioritize his own dad. But shouldn’t Teresa have this conversation with her brother instead of Melissa? That would be logical. Then again, this is Real Housewives of New Jersey. What is logic? Oh, yeah. It’s virtually nonexistent.

According to an episode description on the Bravo website, “tensions mount between Melissa and Teresa” during the cast trip in Oklahoma. That is a mild description. These two are bound to be screaming at each other all season.

New Housewife Jackie Goldschneider opens up about her previous struggles with an eating disorder. However, the main event sounds like the Teresa vs. Melissa screaming match. Apparently Melissa “reveals a family secret, leading Teresa to explode.” Wait. This family still has secrets? How is that even possible at this point? What could it be?

Of course, the ladies choose sides. Dolores Catania steps in for Teresa and tells Melissa, “What I see her saying is when you’re around, he doesn’t have time for his father.” Oh, Dolores. What did you get yourself into? Abort mission.

Melissa tells the camera, “I know Dolores considers herself family, but she’s not.” Melissa declares, “She needs to stay the f*ck out of this.” In real life, that would be valid. However, this is Real Housewives of New Jersey. The cast members are contractually obligated to discuss each other’s lives. That is the whole premise of this show.

Pregnant 90 Day Fiance Alum Paola Mayfield Claps Back at Internet Haters

Pregnant 90 Day Fiance alum Paola Mayfield has lots to be thankful for these days. Even so, I am betting that comments from angry Internet trolls are not on that list. Paola and her husband, Russ Mayfield, have a baby boy on the way. They have been sharing lots of photos on social media to document her pregnancy.

Recently, Paola posted a photo to Instagram. She was baring her baby bump in a bikini and sporting new platinum blond tresses. And then the Internet lost its mind! Did the pregnant reality TV alum use chemicals to bleach her hair?

E! News caught wind of the backlash on Paola’s Instagram post. Just like almost anything the 90 Day Fiance cast members post, the fans were quick to weigh in. Paola was flooded with quite a few congratulatory comments on Instagram, complimenting her new blonde hair. One Instagram user commented, “You look amazing!”

However, there were even more comments from fans who lashed out in anger at the mom-to-be. Things really got heated! They jumped down her throat for exposing her unborn child to the chemicals used to bleach her hair.

One fan posted to Paola’s Instagram, “They say you’re Not supposed to color your hair when you’re pregnant!!!” Another follower said, “Omg I hope u didn’t use bleach on your hair while pregnant.” Yikes!

Paola finally clapped back at the haters that she was, in fact, wearing a wig. Paola told one fan, “Gorgeous it is a wig-100% human hair.” That’s a relief. Can we let her enjoy her pregnancy in peace now? That is an unlikely scenario, but it really would be for the best.

The 90 Day Fiance couple has been through a lot before getting to this point. Paola previously suffered through a miscarriage before she became pregnant with their  baby boy.

Below Deck Cast Member Chandler Brooks Is Dating Jamie Jason From Below Deck Med

Opposites attract, right? Chandler Brooks is dating Jamie Jason. Yes, that’s right. The most polarizing cast member on Below Deck this season is in a relationship with the least confrontational character from Below Deck Mediterranean last season. She didn’t have one storyline last season other than getting a cold and missing some shifts to rest. In contrast, Chandler is bothering everyone on Below Deck.

Other than the obvious Bravolebrity connection and their experiences on luxury yachts, this just seems like something out of left field. However, Jamie has been dropping plenty of hints about the relationship.

According to an article from Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Jamie shared a shirtless selfie of Chandler on her Instagram Story. Jamie captioned it with, “Missing my human.”

She took things up a notch by posting a photo of her and Chandler on the beach in Naples, Florida. Jamie wrote, “We both like turtles and sharp cheddar cheese” in the caption.

Unfortunately for her, Jamie was virtually invisible on Below Deck Med last season. Ironically enough, Chandler probably wishes he was invisible on Below Deck this season. He does not have many fans among the viewers or his costars. Jamie stood by her man and tweeted, “Don’t @ me! Im happy and healthy and don’t need your negativity on my personal choices to dull my vibe.”

Maybe she just isn’t watching Below Deck this year. That would explain a lot. A fan tweeted, “I wonder what @JamieLynnJason thinks watching her BF bosun Chandler treat a female deckhand like such garbage, esp when she was one.. #BelowDeck.” Jamie countered with, “He treats me like a queen.” Hopefully, he hasn’t dropped her on the ground yet.

One Below Deck viewer admitted, “I can’t believe ur with him. Y’all seem totally opposite.” Jamie responded with “Good old saying opposites attract.” Apparently so.

90 Day Fiance Alums Paola & Russ Mayfield Announce Their Baby’s Gender

90 Day Fiance alum Paola Mayfield and Russ Mayfield are expecting their first child together. Previously, the couple tragically suffered a miscarriage. Needless to say, this is very happy news. They have even more good news. Paola posted about their baby’s gender on Instagram.

Paola posted a sweet picture of her husband kissing her in front of a sign that says“boy.” Along with the photo, the 90 Day Fiance alum wrote, “I didn’t care if it was a boy or a girl, I just wanted a healthy baby and to be able to have it in my arms as soon as possible.”

She added, “Of course, I’m always rooting for a girl, but a boy is a blessing as well and I know my husband is really excited!” Russ and Paola received many congratulatory messages from her Instagram followers.

Paola and Russ’ struggle to start a family was prominently featured on 90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After. There was tension in their marriage after losing their baby. The couple struggled to accept their terrible loss. In addition, Paola grappled with homesickness and missing her family in Colombia.

Real Housewives Of Dallas Season 3 Reunion Looks Revealed- Photos

There are two things that will matter at the Real Housewives of Dallas Season 3 reunion. We care about the shade they throw and the outfits they wear. At this moment, there hasn’t even been a preview for the episodes. This means that the jury is still out on the level of shade throwing.

However, the Real Housewives of Dallas reunion looks have hit social media. These hair, makeup, and wardrobe decisions are by far the most crucial of the season. Who brought their A game? Who should fire their stylist?

The Housewives looked like they were attending Orange County Housewife Gina Kirschenheiter’s sequin-themed birthday party.

Stephanie Hollman slayed in a nude colored dress with a sequin overlay. The hair was on point. Her makeup was phenomenal. Just like everything Stephanie does, she absolutely killed it.

D’Andra Simmons wore a gold power suit. She looked ready to kick ass an take names. And by “take names,” I mean LeeAnne Locken’s name, of course. Ironically enough, LeeAnne wore gold as well. However, she wore a dress instead of the suit. At least the former besties have something in common these days.

Of course Kameron Westcott rocked her signature color. The Nicole Kidman clone rocked a sparkly pink outfit. No one is surprised.

Brandi Redmond and Cary Deuber did not share their looks on their own social media accounts. However, the Real Housewives Confessionals Instagram account shared a post that included both of their ensembles. Brandi wore a blue patterned sequin dress. Jennifer Aydin Says It’s “Totally Unreasonable” That Danielle Staub Doesn’t Margaret Josephs Hanging Out With Dolores Catania

We are only two episodes into Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9. Even so, it is clear as day that the demise of Margaret Josephs and Danielle Staub’s friendship is imminent. Margaret told Danielle that she accepted an invitation from Dolores Catania to go hatchet throwing, as strange as that sounds.

Danielle and Dolores have residual beef for Season 8. Margaret and Dolores did not get along last season either. Nevertheless, they are trying to make amends and start new. The same cannot be said for Danielle and Dolores. Danielle completely flipped out when Margaret calmly informed her about the party. It was honestly pretty uncomfortable to watch.

Not only that, but Danielle had the nerve to ask “What do you two really have in common? You cheated on your husband and she got cheated on?” Wow. Danielle went for the jugular there.

Based on the trailer for Season 9, new Housewife Jennifer Aydin and Margaret do not get along. Jennifer also calls out Margaret for cheating on her first husband. Is this the basis for Jennifer and Danielle’s friendship? Hopefully not. Nevertheless, even Jennifer thinks it is absurd that Danielle freaked out on Margaret.

In a Bravo blog post, Jennifer admitted, “Watching Margaret and Danielle has me on pins and needles.” It was just so awkward.

Jennifer clarified, “Now, let me just say that I have mad love for Danielle! She’s an extremely passionate person. And hearing Danielle say that she wants to be able to be around her mutual friends without making any of the other girls feel uncomfortable is totally reasonable!” Sure. That makes sense, but Danielle took things way too far in that conversation.

Jennifer declared, “But wanting Margaret to not be cordial or friends with someone that she’s not friends with? Completely unreasonable! I don’t think this ‘positive energy tea’ is working!” It’s definitely not.

Danielle is a “Friend of the Housewives” this season. That means that the cameras are not following her if she’s alone. She needs as many full-time cast members in her corner if she wants to get some screen time. If Margaret starts hanging out with Dolores more and Danielle less, that is bound to upset her. I’m not saying it’s about screen time, but you never know.

The new Housewife continued, “I’m impressed with how Margaret totally kept her composure. I’m sure Marge was super uncomfortable with Danielle’s behavior. I do believe that it wouldn’t have bothered Marge had it been the other way around. But not everyone is the same, and some people have different ways of dealing with their pain or anger. It’s obvious to me that these two care about each other but have totally different approaches in how they express it.”

Do these two still care about each other? Based on social media and shady interview comments, it seems like Margaret and Danielle are done. Then again, Teresa Giudice flipped a table on Danielle during Season 1 and they are close friends these days. Anything can happen on this show.

Ex On The Beach Season 2 Cast Announced; There Will Be A Mix Of Straight & Gay Contestants

The popular U.K. show Ex on the Beach made its United States debut in April 2018. It was everything I didn’t know I needed in a reality TV show. I got to see some of my favorite people from other reality TV shows under one roof. The contestants created endless drama. There were countless twists and turns. And to top it off everyone looks great in bathing suits.

Thankfully, Ex on the Beach will return for Season 2 a month from now. Just like the first season, this season’s cast members bring plenty of drama to the beach.

According to the MTV website, Ex On The Beach Season 2 debuts on December 20. Just like the first season and its United Kingdom predecessor, the contestants will get to intermingle and make new love connections and rekindle old flames. Every episode, some of their exes show up on the beach. Hence the title. Duh. Some of those exes get to stay in the house. Others get voted out.

A new element of Season 2 is that there will be a mix of gay and straight singles. It’s. About. Time. How is this not already the norm on reality TV dating shows? Thank you, MTV.

The show is divided into two groups. The singles are the initial cast members in the house. The exes are their exes, obviously. The singles will include Teen Mom alum Farrah Abraham. Her most infamous ex Simon Saran will be one of the exes. Will they get back together? Or will they argue? Maybe they’ll both find new matches. It’s even possible that they will do all of the above. You never know with these two.

The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and Famously Single alum Chad Johnson will be a single on the show. The man is no stranger to controversy and working out. If anyone is meant to fight shirtless on a beach, it is Chad Johnson.

Bad Girls Club alum Angela Babicz was on Season 1 of Ex on the Beach. She was the most interesting person to watch. By far. She always had something to say and I was living for it.

Of course they brought her back for round two. After that she appeared on MTV’s The Challenge. Last season, she got together with Tor’i Brooks. It seemed like they found love, but they broke up. Their relationship was explosive enough when they were together. Just imagine them post-breakup. Another Bad Girls club alum Janelle Shanks will be in the cast.

Big Brother and The Challenge cast member Jozea Flores is one of the singles this season. Morgan Willett from Big Brother: Over The Top is another single. The Big Brother alums are almost taking over this house. Corey Brooks is another single from the show. Monte Massongill will be there as an ex.

Fire Island cast member Cheyenne Parker will enter the Ex on the Beach house as a single. Maya Benberry won Travis Kelce’s heart on the short-lived series Catching Kelce. Will she find her true love during Ex on the Beach Season 2?

The Challenge contestant Nicole Ramos is a single this season. Are You The One? contestant Malcolm Drummer is another cast member this season. The Challenge and Are You The One? cast member Nelson Thomas is one of the exes this season. AYTO alums Nurys Mateo and Diandra Delgado are exes as well.

Murray Swanby and Cory Zwierzynski from the short-lived series What Happens At The Abby are a part of this season’s exes. Survivor contestant Jay Starett will also come on as an ex.

Reality TV stars do not just date each other. Sometimes they do date civilians. Ironically enough, those people will be a part of Ex on the Beach this season. Now they are all reality TV alums. The other exes include JD Harmon, Sha Carrell, Darian Vandermark, Nate Sestok, Maddie Sullivan, Kareem Peterson, Perez Corothers, and Rob Tini.

Report: 90 Day Fiance Spin-Off With Nicole Nafziger & Azan Tefou In The Works

Nicole Nafziger and Azan Tefou appeared on 90 Day Fiance during Season 4 and Season 5. Will the third time be the charm? Or are they done with reality TV? The former is the most likely scenario. Not only that, but there is actually a new show in the works that would cater to their visa difficulties.

Rumor has it, the tumultuous couple is on board for a 90 Day Fiance spin-off series called The Other Way. Just in case anyone is living under a rock, the original 90 Day Fiance series documents people moving to the United States to live with their loved ones. As the title suggests, they have 90 days to get married under K-1 Visa. The Other Way would be exactly what the name suggests: a show with the opposite premise.

The Other Way would be about Americans moving to different countries in order to be with their loved ones. Popular 90 Day Fiance source John Yates tweeted, “Just heard from a source that Azan was allegedly denied his visa for the umpteenth time and that since he’s not allowed here they are filming their scenes for whichever version of the show she’ll be on in Grenada. I’m thinking it’s for The Other Way… #90DayFiance.”

Azan is a Morocco native. It has been reported by Newsweek, but not confirmed by the couple, that Azan did not get approved for the K-1 Visa, yet again. Below Deck Recap: Dropping Like Flies

Last night’s Below Deck was a literal bloody mess! I mean Chandler Brooks was dropping guests, Caroline Bedol was dropping everything – including whatever slim grasp she has on sanity. Captain Lee Rosbach has officially done lost his patience.

Chandler still can’t get it together. After the disaster when they took the guests to swim with the sharks, the guests realized the sharks were among them as the deck crew. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, Chandler makes excuses then lectures the deck crew for making him look bad. At his wit’s end, Ashton Pineaar, speaks up about how the lack of communication and direction is the reason they’re making silly mistakes.  Chandler obviously does not agree.

Rhylee Gerber is thankful that someone, besides her, is finally confronting Chandler’s outsized ego. She thanks Ashton and later asks Ross Inia what he thinks. Unfortunately, Ross is chronically allergic to drama. He just mumbles something about respect. Behind Chandler’s back, Ross speaks the truth. “I try to have respect for Chandler, but he’s a shitshow – an absolute shit show.”

And speaking of shit-shows, Caroline and Chandler really are perfect for each other. Caroline is on her own for breakfast service. She has a complete nervous breakdown at the thought of making orange juice. With an electric juicer. She is literally sprinting around the deck like a contestant on some sort of low-budget game show. She is spinning in circles, frantically juicing oranges and spraying pulp everywhere. She’ll probably need to leave the boat to see a doctor over pulp-induced coronary paralysis.

Then when she finally hands the guests their drinks, they all taste horrible. But she’s so busy dry heaving and hacking up a lung in the staff sink to notice their displeasure. Caroline’s franticness is so unsettling that the guests worry something is wrong.  Adrian Martin can’t handle the emotional burden of even acknowledging Caroline’s cesspool of crazy. He decides to keep it professional and basically ignore her. And miraculously his food is amazing again!

When Kate Chastain finally appears, the guests recognize in her a saving grace. They pounce on her with requests for Bloody Marys and OJ, as if they were stranded on an island dying of thirst (again). Kate is unflappable in the besiege of their demands. Behind closed doors she opines, “If Caroline can’t handle coffee – we’ve got a serious problem.”

Bloody Mary-gate was the last and final straw in the cocktail. “Caroline’s foot has healed but the bad news is she’s still Caroline. I’ll cover for her, but what she doesn’t realize is that she’s repeatedly telling me she can’t do her job.” She can’t even handle the basics of laundry! She’s washing chapstick, losing everyone’s stuff, and confusing Captain Lee‘s underoos with Ashton’s g-strings. The laundry room’s outside appearance mirrors Caroline’s mental state: absolute chaotic mess! To keep Caroline out of her hair while preparing for the evening’s beach party, Kate tasks her with organizing the laundry room.

With guests headed for an island luau pig roast that evening, Captain Lee decides to punish Chandler by making him put out ALL the water toys, before transporting the gear to the picnic spot. That means he has to manage gear, gear, everywhere. And Rhylee. They get into a tiff over finding enough drop towels which escalates into a screaming argument near guests! Chandler, dude, it’s only TOWELS! And also Rhylee can read… Read you the riot act! “If Chandler were on my boat, he’d definitely be fired,” she notes. In the interim Rhylee wants to see some accountability, respect, and common courtesy and if not she’s taking it to Captain Lee. As she should!

While the guests enjoy the water toys, Ross and Chandler take the rescue tender out to start setting up the luau. They discover that it’s far too rocky for them to bring guests back to the yacht at night. Ross strategizes who winds up strategizing with Captain Lee about the best way to handle the situation. It is pretty much universally understood that Chandler was hired only to have his ineptitude serve as fodder for drama. Initially, Captain Lee decides that “under no circumstances” are the guests to be on the island after dark, even if it means the luau is cut short. He tasks Ross with managing this -even if means leaving Chandler and a roast suckling pig behind.

Unfortunately, until about 4:30, no one communicates to the guests that the dinner taxi leaves at 5. They don’t actually arrive at the island until 6. Oops. Then Chandler decides to pretend he’s Superman by CARRYING the adult guests from the boat to the pier when he drops one of the guests on her butt! She is gracious about it, but clearly injured. Obviously, Chandler will not stoop to apologizing!  “Not only is Chandler dropping the ball, but now he’s dropping the guests,” snickers Ashton.

To accommodate the guests’ late arrival, Captain Lee has taxis drive them to a well-established dock after the luau, then have them transported to the yacht via tender. In the interim, he has the deck crew return to the yacht to finish cleaning up the toys. He asks Caroline to have drinks prepped for the guests’ re-arrival. Even with these explicit instructions, even with Captain Lee literally baby-stepping Chandler, through the process mayhem ensues. Chandler snaps at Rhylee about drying some gear. When she snaps back, he decides he is “done!”  and dispatches Ross to “deal with her” while he sulks in his cabin.

Chandler doesn’t even respond to their radio calls when it’s time to get the guests, leaving Ross and Ashton to deal with transporting them as well. Who does Chandler think he is – a Real Housewife? Of course, that also means no one goes back to the island to help Kate and Josiah Carter break down the party.

Caroline, meanwhile, can’t even mix a simple champagne cocktail. She drops one of the glasses off the tray and doesn’t clean it up. Almost immediately Master Pearson steps on the broken glass! Like the guests step FROM the tender, onto a carpet of broken glass – which is the perfect metaphor for this trip.

Meanwhile, Kate, Josiah, and ALL OF THE STUFF are stranded on the island and, only to discover that the kids don’t have their life jackets. But they do have battle scars from their time on a luxury ocean liner in Tahiti!

Finally, Albert, the primary, ends up playing bartender while Caroline, Captain Lee, and Chandler clean up the glass and search for a band-aid. The woman Chandler dropped on the pier also has a bloody elbow and knee! Kate and Josiah finally return to the yacht expecting some peace and maybe a little dinner. Instead, they are thrown into a tsunami of booze, blood, and idiocy. Kate is furious. After spending hours cleaning up an island while wearing a child’s life jacket she’s now mixing drinks. She becomes a shoulder to cry on for weary traumatized guests who see Kate as their very own Aqua Jesus. Kate turns tears into wine! When she learns about Caroline dropping the glass, she needs a minute to collect herself. Then, she springs into action.

But at least Caroline apologized! A little too heartily, if you ask me, as she grabbed Master Pearson‘s face and kissed him like 5 times. Step down, subordinate! Chandler, meanwhile, was confronted by the tipsy guest who straight up called him out for not apologizing. Then, he tried to argue with her, before ultimately mumbling sorry. YUCK. This guy is a serious creep. Swipe left for life on that one ladies!

The hilarious thing is that the guests have gone through so much mayhem with this crew that it’s like bonded them.

Josiah impressed me this episode. He basically put his pompadour (and pomposity) down and worked, worked, worked. With the guests finally in bed, a hangry Kate seethes to Captain Lee that something has to change. Kate is now in command and the deck crew will be on stew duty! My question is what was Caroline doing while Kate and Josiah were at the luau? How was it such a mess when she had like 4 hours without guests or other responsibilities? Did she really spend that long organizing the laundry room? Or was she actually just sitting in her room meditating on how to spontaneously develop whooping cough?

Chandler is obviously furious about taking direction for Kate and being told to work. Ross and Ashton are shockingly relieved to have someone in charge who actually knows how to give direction. As consummate professionals, they are rewarded with early bedtime and a smile. Meanwhile, Chandler has to stay up late for a one-on-one lesson from Kate in how to get things done. In the midst of this, he has the audacity to try and take an ice cream break! Doesn’t he see a pig carcass that needs attending to? Kate literally rips the ice cream away from him and gives him a lecture on just why Captain Lee put her in charge. After Kate goes to bed, Chandler just dumps the pig carcass in the trash but doesn’t take it out. Then, he sulks as he stabs at his still frozen ice cream. The next morning the guests practically run off the boat, tossing the undeserved tip envelope to Captain Lee. They should’ve specified that it only goes to Rhylee, Ashton, Ross, Kate, and Josiah.

After the tip meeting, a livid Captain Lee calls Kate to the wheelhouse so she can be a witness while he talks to Chandler. It looks like Chandler is getting fired at last! Ross is pretty much acting as bosun at this point anyway, especially in Captain Lee’s mind.

I feel like Ross was originally hired as bosun but then production realized there was about zilch chance he’d ruin his career by causing drama. They probably rush hired someone patently incapable of doing the job for the sake of better television. Frankly, I’d rather waste my time watching Ross be sweet and in control.

TELL US  – WHICH BELOW DECK CAST MEMBER SHOULD BE FIRED? IS IT CHANDLER GETS FIRED? WILL BELOW DECK BE ENTERTAINING WITHOUT CHANDLER’S MISHAPS? DOES HE DESERVE IT? SHOULD CAROLINE BE FIRED?
