Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd sure has a lot to say about coronavirus these days. Yes, it’s a major topic of conversation right now, but Kelly has offended many people with her remarks. She claimed that coronavirus was “God’s way of thinning the herd.” She apologized, but soon after, Kelly remarked that “people are going to die anyway,” which was rather insensitive.
Kelly and her co-stars faced criticism when they posted selfies they took in the midst of the pandemic. After that, Kelly publicly apologized again after she posted a “joke” about coronavirus. Over the weekend, she claimed that “no one is dying from coronavirus in Orange County.” And in response, some viewers contacted the production company asking for Kelly to get fired.
Now, Kelly is addressing her most recent controversial remarks in a new Instagram video. She began, “I just want to clarify something to Page Six and Us Weekly. I was by no means minimizing deaths that have been caused by this virus. And I feel for their loved ones.”
She continued, “However, Orange County has 133 deaths out of 3 million people. Much lower than most.”
Kelly’s original video was about her meal at a restaurant, where she said, “No one is wearing masks here in Orange County. Yup, because no one is dying here of the virus. It’s not the government’s job to protect my health. It’s the government’s job to protect my RIGHTS. It’s my job to protect my health. When you trade liberty for safety you end up losing both.”
In her non-apology latest video, Kelly remarked, “I feel encouraged and excited that people were out and about and there was some semblance of normalcy. And, by the way, I was wearing a mask.”
Then, she pointed the camera to her mom and said, “This lady right here was not wearing the mask. And no patrons when we were eating were wearing the mask. The servers were, but you can’t eat with a mask on. So, get your facts straight.”
Oh, Kelly. Never a dull moment. Maybe she should just take a break from providing social media commentary on world issues.

There’s no denying The Real Housewives of New York City has been different this season without Bethenny Frankel. The Skinnygirl founder’s abrupt exit as filming began on Season 12 left the rest of the Housewives totally blindsided.
Of course, Ramona Singer has had no shortage of opinions about her former castmate leaving the show (for a second time). In a new interview, the OG opened up about whether she thinks Bethenny is really done with RHONY for good and managed to shade former OG Jill Zarin in the process.
When asked by People Now about the possibility of Bethenny returning, Ramona was uncharacteristically succinct in her reply. “I don’t think so,” she said before adding the quick caveat, “but you never know.”
Bethenny‘s exit opened up questions about Jill taking her golden apple and rejoining the cast. However, Ramona doesn’t seem too keen on that happening either.
“Well we do…you’ll see Jill come on a few episodes,” she teased. “But again, Jill just doesn’t gel with us anymore. So in my opinion, you’ll see and you’ll let me know.”
Saying Jill doesn’t fit in with the cast seems a bit of an odd statement considering the RHONY OG is still good friends with most of the cast, including Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, and Sonja Morgan. (I’d add Ramona herself to that list. But, her relationship with the Zarin Fabrics mogul changes so quickly. It’s hard to keep straight whether they’re actually friends most days.)
Jill’s actually made guest appearances on the RHONY every year since Season 9. Most notably, she served as a bridesmaid in Luann’s ill-fated wedding to Tom D’Agostino that season and publicly made up with Bethenny outside her late husband Bobby Zarin‘s funeral service in Season 10.
On the other hand, maybe Ramona thinks Jill doesn’t fit in with the current hamster wheel of drunken antics the show has morphed into. Something tells me Jill wouldn’t take kindly to running around naked while throwing tiki torches like javelins or waking up to find a vibrator in the chicken piccata…

Lisa Vanderpump left the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last season after all the main cast members called her a liar and turned their backs on her. The most surprising betrayal came from her supposed best friend Kyle Richards. As the last remaining OG’s from the 1st season, LVP and Kyle always had each other’s backs throughout any drama. But last season, Kyle basically called her a liar and refused to believe her friend, regardless of their long history. It was surprising to see Kyle refuse to back up Lisa, and even more surprising for Kyle to side so quickly with the other ladies, who she has not known nearly as long.
Although LVP tried to leave the drama of the show behind, fans on social media just do not want to let the Lisa/Kyle feud die.
The IG account realhousewivesfranchise shared some screenshots of some tweets between LVP, Kyle, and some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans.
A commenter lit the fire by stating, “Kyle was constantly talking about LVP behind her back going right back [to] Season 1…LVP never had a bad word to say about Kyle and if she did she said it to her face. Kyle always been wanting people to almost not like Lisa or something.”
I think that is true. As much as Kyle claimed to be LVP’s friend, there was always an underlying feeling of jealousy. I think Kyle secretly wanted LVP to fail. I think Kyle wanted to be the star of the show and she was never going to be as long as LVP was around.
LVP replied saying, “I see that now.”
Never one to resist playing the victim, Kyle quickly responded. Always the messy one, she also took the opportunity to throw shade at her “friend” Lisa Rinna while she was at it.
“Trying to think of one time anyone defended me,” Kyle interjected. “Like maybe now would be a good time Rinna.” Of course, she was talking about that car ride during the last episode when Denise Richards and Garcelle Beauvais talked trash about Kyle after the astrologer event.
Rinna was not about to get in the middle of this one. She knows better than to take on LVP in front of her fans on Twitter (well, this one time, anyway). However, she did apologize on the show for the comments she made about Kyle not defending Rinna to her sister, Kim Richards.
Another commenter jumped in to break it down for Kyle. The viewer reminded Kyle that she did once have a friend who defended her. “Err, you did have a very good friend @LisaVanderpump but when she was mourning and going through a difficult time you all turned on her like a pack of wolves.”
Kyle, for once, did not seem to have a comeback. Maybe she is finally realizing that no one is going to defend her behavior. That is because she is just not a very good friend.
LVP clearly was the better friend to Kyle. She no longer needs anyone to defend her. Like the queen she still is, LVP lets her actions speak for her. She summed it up with a simple, “True dat.”

NeNe Leakes has been endorsing a Kim Zolciak comeback on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Understandably, Kim is hesitant to jump back in. She did not come across well (at all) during season 10. If you recall, she claimed, “racism isn’t all that real” during that reunion episode after feuding with Kenya Moore and NeNe.
Sure, she’s a mom of six who has mouths to feed and an RHOA paycheck can help with that. But, at least she has her own show with her family called Don’t Be Tardy, which just seems way more enjoyable to film.
Kim’s daughter Brielle Biermann dished on the possibility of Kim’s RHOA comeback in a recent Us Weekly interview. Brielle began, “I don’t know why she would. She has her own TV show and it’s doing great and it’s super fun to film and I don’t know why she would put herself back into that crazy environment.” Exactly. Unless the money is really needed, just filming your life at home just seems like such a cushy gig.
Brielle continued, “I mean maybe if it was less negativity, more positivity [and] a couple of people were replaced. Yeah, she’d probably go back.” She admitted, “I don’t want her to go back. Coming home and being drained every single day because of all the negativity, it’s just not the vibe.”
In comparison, Don’t Be Tardy just seem so much easier to film. Brielle explained, “Here, it’s not work. It’s fun. It’s family. You’re just filming your life.” In contrast, she says that RHOA “is work.” Brielle added, “You have to put on a brave face every day and you have to know that you’re walking into a situation where you could possibly be attacked and interrogated the whole entire day. And that’s just, like, who wants to do that? Right? I don’t even know how most of them stay on that show.”
Then, weirdly enough, after explaining a pretty logical stance, Brielle admitted that she’s never seen any episodes of the show and that she “doesn’t watch TV.” Wow. And ironically enough, she makes her living because of us reality TV viewers. Well, and the Instagram followers, of course.

Kelly Dodd had a tough start on Real Housewives of Orange County, but eventually, she became someone viewers liked to root for. Lately, that’s not really the case. She has made many offensive remarks about the coronavirus pandemic. She’s apologized, but then she just says something else, only to say sorry again. It’s a never-ending cycle.
Some RHOC viewers are so upset that they’re (apparently) reaching out to the production company asking for Kelly to get fired.
Kelly addressed her haters in a series of videos on her Instagram Story, which disappear in 24 hours, but thankfully, the videos were captured by iRealHousewives. Kelly began, “I got a call from Braunwyn [Windham-Burke] this morning, telling me that there’s some Facebook hate group that’s texting Evolution, my production company, on how to fire Kelly Dodd.” Ugh, talking in the third person. How cringe-worthy.
She continued, “You know what, this has been happening for the past five years that I’ve been on this show.”
Kelly ranted, “Tamra [Judge] tried to get me fired and Vicki [Gunvaslon] tried to get me fired.”
Then, she slammed members of the RHOC fanbase. Kelly said, “So, you guys, Facebook [users], you’re probably 50 [years old] and over. Get a life. Do something positive. Maybe help other people out, just [something] the opposite of being such haters. It’s hilarious right now. OK? Get a life.”
She also admitted, “And then I get these Google alerts, like 100.” Then again, pretty much every (somewhat) public person has Google alerts for themselves. Kelly said, “You know what, keep writing about me because you’re just keeping me more relevant.” Will do, Kelly.
“So, you guys, I love it because you’re keeping me relevant. Keep on writing about me. All these stupid little bloggers, go ahead. It doesn’t bother me. It’s hilarious,” she said. Good to know. We will continue our coverage.
Kelly concluded, “So, keeping writing about me because all press is good press as far as I’m concerned. And, you’re keeping me employed, so thank you.” You’re welcome, Kel.

Kelly Dodd is back at it again. The Real Housewives of Orange County star is back with another crap hot take on the coronavirus pandemic. As we all know, this isn’t the first time Kelly has landed in hot water over such statements. Other (former) cast members like Vicki Gunvalson, have also been taken to task about their corona sentiments. But none like Kelly. Maybe because she won’t stop spewing nonsense about it. Just a thought!
Kelly first caught heat for traveling back and forth to New York to be with her fiance, Rick Leventhal. She then went a step further and made a flippant remark about mortality during the outbreak. Kelly’s exact words? “Well, people are going to die.” But she wasn’t done. Kelly also said that maybe coronavirus is god’s way of “thinning the heard”. She later apologized for it, but fans weren’t hearing it and have since turned on Kelly. Who could blame them? Because Kelly has proven she hasn’t learned her lesson.
Kelly is now out and about, without a mask. Us Weekly reports that Kelly went out to celebrate the reopening of restaurants and stores in Orange County.“Yay, we finally get to have a meal out,” she said in a video via her Instagram stories. “Yay, no one is wearing a mask. I love it. Yay!” It’s important to note that employees were seen very clearly wearing masks in her video, despite what she was saying.
As if that wasn’t shocking enough, Kelly then said, “No one is wearing masks here in Orange County. Once again, Kelly is clearly misguided in her statements. It’s been confirmed that Orange County has lost more than 131 people to the coronavirus in the last few months. According to the Los Angeles Times, the county even recorded 14 deaths related to the virus just a few days before Kelly was out on the town. It’s the highest single-day total since the pandemic began.
Kelly later tried and failed to clarify what she meant. “I was by no means minimizing deaths that have been caused by this virus. And I feel for their loved ones,” she explained in an Instagram video. “However, Orange County has 133 deaths out of 3 million people, much lower than most. I felt encouraged and excited that people were out and about and there was some sense of normalcy.”
Well, Kelly might feel a sense of normalcy, but the reality is so many others are not. I hope she enjoyed that meal.

From the very first episode of Vanderpump Rules this season, I found Dayna Kathan to be suspect. In her very first scene, she tells us that she just starting hooking up with fellow newbie and TomTom manager Max Boyens. How convenient. Then, mid-season, she suddenly starts dating the other newbie Brett Caprioni, who coincidentally happens to be Max’s best friend. And they both happen to have also hooked up with none other than Scheana Marie! It is almost like she is following a “How to Be Relevant on Reality TV” Handbook. Dayna does not seem to have chemistry with either of the guys, and the whole thing makes me skeptical of her motives in general.
Dayna‘s flings with Max and Brett naturally led to a rivalry with Scheana. Hooking up with the newbie best friends was Scheana’s plan for this season! Dating the resident f***boys is Scheana’s role! Dayna definitely stole her storyline. Even though Scheana says everything is good between all of them now, she did not miss the chance to call Dayna out for her calculated moves this season.
“So here’s what I thought in the beginning… “, Scheana stated, “and I don’t want Dayna to get upset with me for saying this because we’ve come full-circle but this is also something I’ve said to her, and to defend my actions in the beginning, even though they’re not really defendable… Everyone felt it was a very calculated move of hers.”
I hate to say it, but I agree with Scheana 100% on this. Dayna knew exactly what she was doing when she made her move with Max. No one just coincidentally happens to hook up with the other new cast member right before filming begins. That is obviously planned to get screen time.
Scheana continued, “It seemed very calculated. So all of us were like, ‘We’re supposed to believe this when you’re the opposite of his physical type, usually…. Yeah, you’re dope. You’re funny. You have a lot going for you.’ But initially, we were like, ‘Max likes under 5’5″ brunettes.’ It seemed not necessarily very real.”
Ok, so Scheana kind of loses me here. Once again, Scheana wants to seem like she knows ALL about Max because they are such good friends. She is also hinting that Max usually likes girls who look just like Scheana! I don’t think this really proves anything. The timing of it all is what I find suspect, not what color hair or how tall the girls are that Max usually dates.
Scheana also wants everyone to know that before she was a cast member, Dayna was merely a fan. A Stassi Schroeder fan to be specific.
“She is a fan of the show, specifically a Stassi fan. She hasn’t hid that. Everyone knows it,” Scheana said, adding that her good friend Max told her about Dayna’s supposed admiration of Stassi.
“That’s what Max told me. He was like, ‘I know from dating her for nine days… She’s a Stassi fan,'” Scheana recalled.
It makes sense that Dayna was a fan. She seems to be doing her best impression of Stassi during the early Vanderpump Rules seasons. But this is the problem with the new cast members. There was something raw and unrehearsed about the mess of a masterpiece that was the early seasons of Vanderpump Rules. The new cast members seem to be doing their best to play the part of a VPR cast member, but it just does not seem authentic to me.
I hope Dayna does not think she can be anything like Stassi in the early seasons. No one should ever try to compare to Season 1 Stassi. For one, Young Stassi’s true awesomeness can never be replicated, and for two, Season 1 Stassi was a complete selfish bitch.
Scheana maintains that all is good now between Dayna and the girls now that she is no longer dating Max.”She’s pretty close with all of us. I’m close with her. Ariana [Madix], Katie [Maloney], I think Stassi… [but] in the beginning, it felt like this Scheana/Stassi season one vibe with her and I at SUR,” Scheana explained.
There was definitely a Season 1 Scheana/Stassi vibe to Scheana and Dayna‘s interactions at SUR. But in this case, it is like Scheana is playing the role of Stassi, and Dayna is playing Scheana. It is just weird. Dayna seems like she is always trying to “act” or create her own story, rather than just be herself.
While Scheana has her doubts, she said that Dayna has continued to say that she had true feelings for Max during filming on season eight last summer. “To this day, she still stands by, she was obsessed with him. She was very, very into him. I think they were uncomfortable showing it on camera,” Scheana added.
I am uncomfortable watching it. Dayna seems to have no emotion when speaking to Max, and her staged kiss with Brett at her birthday party was even more fake. At this point, I just don’t believe any of it and I do think Dayna was trying a little too hard this season. I want to give Dayna a chance, but I think she needs to relax a little and trust that she can be interesting without having to invent a showmance or play a role. This is Vanderpump Rules. All she has to do is sleep with Jax Taylor.

The Real Housewives of New York has hit the ground drunk and stumbling this season. To be fair, the women of New York have always been intoxicated messes. Losing teeth in clubs, turtle time, falling into bushes, and making out naked in pools. No shade. It’s all incredible! That said, arguably one of the messiest of the group is none other than Dorinda Medley. What little I can understand of what Dorinda says drunk is enough to take the cake with this crew. And that’s saying a lot.
This season we have watched Dorinda struggle with her break from “boyfriend”, John Mahdessian while continuing to mourn her late husband, Richard. In last week’s episode these feelings all bubbled to the surface when we watched Dorinda lash out at Tinsley Mortimer. I’m still not sure what Tinsley ever did to Dorinda, other than be born into wealth. Dorinda is still a dog with a bone continuing to bash Tinsley recently for “never owning anything“. Like, what? Dorinda at least half of your storylines are based on your late husband’s house that you let Carole Radziwill name your first season. Relax. Even though in this week’s episode Dorinda switched the focus of her anger to Ramona Singer, she is still talking about watching herself scream at Tinsley last week.
Dorinda told Us Weekly about the May 14th episode “Yes. Absolutely it was a tough episode to watch…But I think the thing is — that there’s a lot of things going on and obviously we can’t break the fourth wall.” Dorinda continued to blame her circumstances rather than her drinking saying “There’s a lot of things coming up and a lot of things, like, that I am going through myself that are making me definitely on edge and uptight.”
Again, trying to defend her actions Dorinda explained “I think I say it at the winery — I just feel vulnerable and scared and overwhelmed.” Scared and overwhelmed by what? Drinking wine by someone who rightfully pointed out you’re a hypocrite? I think you mean you felt intoxicated and annoyed. When’s the last time you saw someone scream about wanting curly hair when they were scared? Me either.
Apparently, Dorinda is having a hard time behind the scenes. She was even considering not returning to this season, saying, “[I] thought, ‘I can’t do this. I just can’t take another thing.’” In the end, Dorinda said she “…decided to be a housewife, and you have to be a housewife [in] good times [and] bad times, that’s part of the process. That’s the journey that you need to take the viewer on, and then they can take and do what they want with it.”
I honestly don’t know what to think about Dorinda considering not returning. I have always loved watching her pal around with all the other New York ladies. She’s a mess but usua,lly it’s pretty fun to watch. If you’re like me, you may be encouraged to hear that Dorinda also joked, “My tagline should have been, ‘I’m not only reconstructing my house, I’m reconstructing myself.’”
Let’s cross our fingers that it’s a rebuilding year for our dear friend Dooooooooooooooooorinda!
