Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

It’s hard to believe that we have just one more episode left of Survivor, with no more (for the time being) loaded in the chamber. “Survivor: Winners at War,” the monumental 40th season of the greatest Reality TV Show of all-time, gave us a two-hour penultimate episode tonight, with a massive three-hour Finale and Reunion set for next week, May 13. After that? Well, production has been halted indefinitely on Seasons 41 and 42, despite CBS making an official announcement Wednesday that Survivor was renewed and is part of their 2020-21 schedule. That means we have one more episode, possibly for the rest of 2020. Just one more reason why 2021 can’t get here soon enough.

There was a lot jam-packed into tonight’s two-hour fiasco, including a lengthy preview of next week’s Finale usually reserved for, well, the beginning of the Finale. The stage is now set for how Winners at War will shake out, with just five players remaining in the game, and another 14 awaiting a come-back challenge to see if their hopes of a second Survivor crown can be revived and come to fruition. We’ll tackle everything we saw tonight, and take a glimpse forward as to how things may play out when Season 40 wraps up next Wednesday, in what is sure to be epic fashion.

As I do at the beginning of every recap, please heed the following: Remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s episode of Survivor: Winners at War. If you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap. It is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Let’s start with a bit of good news. It appears (about 99% likely) that I will be able to land exit interviews with whomever the Final Three are this season. My full interviews with the Final Three will appear on my podcast, The FilmSurvivor Podcast, which you can subscribe to on iTunes and/or Podbean. My podcast is full with past episodes you can download, featuring interviews with nearly all 20 of this season’s cast…so check that out in the meantime, and make sure to look out for my exit interviews with the Final Three sometime next Thursday, the day after the Finale! On that same day, I’ll also update my rankings as to where “Winners at War” ranks among all of the “most memorable” seasons of Survivor, as well as my updated winners list. Spoiler: Whoever wins “Winners at War” is likely to take the top spot away from Queen Sandra!

This episode felt a bit over-stuffed, especially when we headed to the first of two Tribal Councils at just the 20-minute mark of the two-hour episode! There was a lot of strategy talk crammed into a small amount of air-time, but some common themes were still present in that first segment or two. Michele continued to find herself on the wrong side of the votes and out-of-the-loop. Tony still was calling any of the shots in the game, even as his closest ally, Sarah, has played just as impressive of a game. Ben continued to dodge bullets that he didn’t even know were aimed at him. And Jeremy continued to be the most popular target in the game.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Ultimately, the jury grew by two tonight, with Jeremy and then Nick seeing their torches snuffed…Nick’s for the first time in his combined 73 days in the game. That’s quite a run, and an impressive showing for the most recent winner among all of this season’s contestants. Ironically, it was Nick who sealed Jeremy’s fate in the game. And while Michele might be on the wrong side of the numbers, she is aptly tuned-in to the social dynamics in the game…she’s low-key one of the better social game players ever, in the sense of social awareness and likability. What keeps her out of the category of, say, Parvati, is that Michele hasn’t shown the ability to really be able to persuade or influence the game like one of the “greats.” Oh, and by the way, Michele did the right thing for her game by playing the 50/50 Advantage herself…had she given it to Jeremy and he was then safe, she would have entered into a tie-break scenario and would have likely been voted-out upon a re-vote.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Pissed at Nick after he decided to vote-out Jeremy, Michele explained to him that he just sealed their fate in the game, and that Michele and Nick were the next targets. Michele then went out and won an Immunity Challenge, her first of this season and third of her career. Her game was over if she didn’t win, and she willed it to happen. It was impressive, and couldn’t have come at a better time for her. You can’t fault Nick, he was playing the game hard and I think lasted a lot longer than many might have predicted at the start, but his decision here is probably one that sticks with him and keeps him up at night.

There were a lot of “small” moments that I think were very big in the grand picture of things this episode. Take for example, Jeremy‘s blindside, and Tony fessing up to him that he turned on him. “Bad move, dude,” was Jeremy’s parting response. Might this foreshadow that Tony may end up not having such a clear walk to the win with the jury after all? On the flip, Michele told Sarah straight-out that Tony is going to win this game unless someone does something to stop him, and Sarah countered – correctly – that maybe he isn’t the one calling the shots all by himself. But Michele’s reply back to Sarah is the key to EVERYTHING in the game of Survivor: Perception is everything. It seems like every single season we, the viewers at home, get to watch one player get to the end and “deserve” to win, only their game wasn’t perceived properly by the jury. I think Michele’s words ring truer than ever, and Sarah is going to face a major perception problem if she sits at the end against Tony.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

But let’s give credit where credit is due, shall we? Tony and Sarah, affectionately known as “Cops-R-Us,” are absolute masters of the game, bona fide legends and players of the highest caliber. How are they not being targeted? Pre-game, when asked who each player wanted to vote out first, Sarah’s name came up more than nearly anybody else. She wasn’t supposed to be allowed to make it this far in the game, let alone Tony…let alone the two of them together. But here they are, so incredibly close to sticking the landing. However things play out, they’re games this season should be studied.

This episode also marked a final farewell to the Fire Tokens, a game twist that I think was ultimately a success. It added a whole other level of strategy to the game, and brought lots of drama and entertainment to the season. I can see them being here to stay over the course of the next few seasons, although Jeff Probst did recently announce that “The Edge of Extinction” twist is going to be put to rest, at least for a few seasons. So how would Fire Tokens work if there isn’t an Edge? We’ll likely see Fire Tokens evolve in some way from how they were played this season, but I don’t think they’ll scrap the idea entirely.

So we find ourselves with just six players remaining (the five in the game, and the one player that will win their way back into the game). I think it’s only logical that we break this down by player, as to what each player may need to have happen in order to win the title of Sole Survivor.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Tony. This season is so epic, I feel like the most appropriate winner would be Tony. It just feels right. He overcame a huge reputation to make it this far, and has absolutely driven nearly every vote. This game is now his to lose. If he finds himself in the Final Three against anybody else, I think Tony wins. He’s got to navigate three more Tribals still, and I’m going to figure that he’ll be at the top of everyone’s list of players that they DON’T want to sit next to at the end. If Tony isn’t winning Immunity Challenges, his biggest roadblocks will be Ben and then Sarah…but if these three are truly locked in on a Final Three alliance (and I don’t think it will hold up), then Tony has a very good shot at winning…and let’s not forget that Tony still has an Immunity Idol at his disposal.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Sarah. Then there’s Sarah, the other winner that would “feel right” being crowned winner for this mega-season. She’s got it all going for her, but did I mention the word “perception”? It’s not that she can’t win against Tony…I think she can. Remember, this is a massive jury this year, bigger than ever before with what will be 16 voting members. There are so many factors at play. But is Sarah can make it to the end AND take out Tony along the way? Crown her Queen. I truly believe there is zero chance Tony turns on her, so it’s unclear whether Sarah would betray this alliance, but remember Tony did her dirty on their season, and even earlier this season. He has it coming, should she choose to do so. The idea that Tony is perceived as the bigger threat actually makes him a bigger shield for Sarah during this crucial final stretch of the game.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Ben. As much as I’d be satisfied with Tony or Sarah winning Season 40, there is a part of me – call me old-school – that would love to see the winner of this season be a player that has NEVER had their torch snuffed. That would make the inevitable comparisons with Queen Sandra nice and clear-cut and beyond debate. Remember that while Tony and Sarah have already won the game once, they also both lost. As far as torches being snuffed, that disqualifies everyone currently on The Edge. So who is left right now that are “pure” winners, players that have never had their torch snuffed, not ever? Well, you have Ben, Michele and Denise. As much friction as Ben has caused this season, and for as much as it’s being made out that he “isn’t well-liked,” Ben had absolutely been right in the thick of nearly everything this entire season, and has prevailed. Much like his own winning season, he just continues to narrowly walk that tight-rope week after week, somehow making it another three days until he is the last one standing. Could Ben – gasp! – actually win? I think there’s a path, but it will depend on who he sits next to in the end. His current plan – to go to the end along with Cops-R-Us – is a sure-fire way for Ben to finish in third place. He needs the right combination, but if we’ve learned anything from watching Ben, it’s that you should never, ever, count him out.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Denise. The “Queen-Slayer” herself, I think, will need to do more to win this game than simply have taken out the Queen. Yes, that was an epic move, but she really seems to be hanging her hat on that, and it seems like it happened a million years ago at this point. Yes, she’s won Immunity a few times, and yes, she’s incredibly well-liked, but I just don’t see that as being the criteria…not this season. With a strong strategic finish, Denise can absolutely win the game, I just don’t think she can based on her game up to this point…

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

Michele. Michele’s story has been one of the most interesting and fully-fleshed out this season, and it makes you root for her. Starting off as the total “fish-out-of-water,” or frankly, one of the cast member choices that seemed to be questioned by the fandom, Michele has had a lot to prove while still having to deal with the cards she was dealt. Tony referred to her as the closest thing an all-winner season gets to having a “goat,” but Michele is a survivor (no pun intended). She definitely proved this season that she deserved her spot in the game and can hang with the big boys and girls. “Perception” in the game though, will also end up being Michele’s worst enemy, because I think it will be hard to convince this group that she played a better game than any of the others out there. But again, among the right combination of finalists in a Final Three, if you start looking at Michele’s social game and who she had close bonds with (Jeremy, Kim, Parvati…would Wendell vote for her to win?), she may have more winning votes than you think. Her inspiring overall arch this season speaks more to a “runner-up” sort of edit, but I do believe there is a path for her to win, although she’s probably the long-shot…as she has been all season.

Survivor: Winners At War Episode 13 Recap: Endure And Let Go

The Edge of Extinction “Come-Back” Winner. The biggest “x-factor” heading into the Finale is who will come back into the game from The Edge? For me, I think it would be most exciting and entertaining for a player to come back in from The Edge having an Immunity Idol on them…this would likely make them immune at their first Tribal, forcing the current five to vote someone out and changing the dynamic away from “let’s just vote-out whomever is coming back into the game” mentality. That narrows it down to Boston Rob, Tyson and Natalie, as all three have Idols that only become active if they were to re-enter the game. Of course, best positioned and most likely to re-enter the game is Natalie, who had amassed a whopping 14 Fire Tokens to score her a jar of peanut butter (energy), and three advantages in the “come-back” challenge. You then have Wendell, Yul and Parvati who all had enough Fire Tokens to score them just one advantage in the challenge.

The question remains though: Even if Natalie – or any of these players – returns to the game, will this group of winners really vote for someone who was on The Edge to represent their season as Sole Survivor? I find it hard to believe, but not out of the realm of possibility. For the sake of purity and simplicity, I personally hope that the person who comes back doesn’t win the game, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not looking forward to the drama that this come-back challenge will create! It would seem very anti-climactic if someone like Danni, or Amber, gets back in the game…so here’s hoping that Natalie pulls it off!

Voted Out This Week: Jeremy, Nick

Won Immunity: Nick (1), Michele (1)

Vote #1: Michele successfully played her “50/50” Advantage on herself. 3 – Jeremy (Ben, Tony, Nick), 2 – Ben (Michele, Jeremy), 0-Michele (two votes nullified: Sarah, Denise)

Vote #2: No Idols or advantages played. 4 – Nick (Tony, Sarah, Ben, Denise), 2 – Denise (Michele, Nick)

Next Week’s Episode: It’s the three-hour Finale! We’ll be back to break it all down, and look ahead to what the future of the show may hold. With the pandemic, there is no “Live Reunion Show,” but we’re being promised some sort of virtual reunion show with Jeff Probst as host. With Season 41 not yet in production, it will be interesting if they tease a new season, or if this might be the first-ever Survivor Finale to not preview a glimpse of the next upcoming season. Stay tuned!

Alumni News: Jessica and Cody Nickson Expecting Baby Number 2

As we all wait for news about whether Big Brother 22 will happen this season or not, the Big Brother alumni have been busy getting on through all this quarantine and coronavirus madness. A few of them have welcomed new additions to their family. A few weeks ago, Big Brother 17’s Vanessa Rousso and her wife Melissa Proce Ouellet welcomed their three sons into their lives. Now Jessica and Cody Nickson are joining the Big Brother baby alumni party.

jessica and Cody Nickson Expecting Baby Number 2

Jessica and Cody are having their second child! The pair made this big reveal on Jessica’s podcast What Now?!  On it, they talked about how they have been trying for months to get pregnant. Jessica was determined to have another baby this year, so that her children could be similar in age.

In March 2019, Jessica and Cody welcomed their first child together Maverick. Maverick arrived a few months after their October 2018 wedding.  We have no clue if Jessica and Cody have plans to expand their family even further, but now they have three children. Cody has a daughter named Paisley from a previous relationship. If the baby making continues, they could have a whole team of babies running around.

To keep themselves entertained during quarantine, they have actively been posting new content to their Youtube page. They even uploaded a piece of them making their official announcement on their Youtube page.  It doesn’t get to the big news, but gives a teaser for fans to go tune into the podcast.

You can see the full video here:

They also revealed that they plan to create an official gender reveal video for their Youtube page. Congrats to Jessica and Cody on baby number 2.

We’ll update you on that news once the video is uploaded. Are you excited about Jessica and Cody’s baby news?

Nene Leakes Thinks Kenya Moore Manipulated Kandi Burruss Into An Alliance On Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Nene Leakes Thinks Kenya Moore “Manipu

It’s no secret that Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore have been at each other’s throats this season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, often with Marlo Hampton on the former’s side while Kandi Burruss and Cynthia Bailey back up the latter.

In a new sit-down ahead of the show’s first-ever virtual reunion, the RHOA OG opened up about why she thinks Kandi has teamed up with her nemesis, and let’s just say she didn’t mince words.

The candid moment all went down during the Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show, when a producer casually asked Nene why she thought Kandi and Kenya were in some sort of an alliance.

“Because see, what Kenya will do, Kandi won’t do, okay?” Nene responded. “So Kenya is OK with being the villain. She’s OK with talking shit, you know? And that’s something that Kandi doesn’t want to do ’cause she doesn’t want to be seen that way. So they make a great partnership and it’s Cynthia right in there with them.”

RELATED: Kenya Moore Responds After NeNe Leakes Says Her Marriage With Marc Daly Was Never Legal & They Used Someone Else’s Egg To Have A Baby

“You think Kandi‘s the ringleader of the alliance?” Marlo, who was paired with Nene for the segment, queried, leading the OG to respond, “I don’t know but I know that they’re in an alliance. And I don’t care what they say and what anybody else says, they will never change what I think, OK?”

When it comes to the origins of the supposed alliance, the RHOA star has even more theories about Kenya‘s strategic approach to friendships within the cast — and they all point back to the exit of Kenya’s one-time foe Phaedra Parks back in Season 9.

RELATED: Kandi Burruss Slams NeNe Leakes’ Friendship With Wendy Williams; Says “That Doesn’t Sound Like A Real Friendship To Me”

“I think everything is a chess move,” Nene said. “‘Cause she was never friends with Kandi; Kandi was always friends with Phaedra, and Phaedra and Kenya never got along,” she said. “So now that Phaedra is gone, I think Kenya thought it was a great idea, like it was a smart move…to just be friends with Kandi. So she knew Kandi, she could just manipulate Kandi and Kandi would go up and rally for her [imitating Kandi]: ‘Kenya needs to come back on the show.’ You know, that kind of stuff. So she was doing a business, she was a politician, child.”

“She was politicking?” Marlo replied with a laugh. “Well it worked…’cause she got her back.”

Vanderpump Rules Recap: Gatorade, The Thirst Trapper

Vanderpump Rules Jax Taylor

Vanderpump Rules Jax Taylor

This season seems to be a reckoning on Vanderpump Rules. A washing the slate clean to prepare for the new and fresh, and the people getting hit the hardest are Jax Taylor and Scheana Marie. I welcome this.

For some bizarro reason Max Boyens hosts a beach clean-up at a public beach that gets regularly cleaned by the city. Then, because this makes total logical sense, everyone who shows up is swilling wine out of plastic solo cups. Erm. Look – I get it, they need to give Max something to DO besides women, but how about we get a little more filler about his backstory? Like who is this guy other than the person who’s presumably replacing Jax as the Number 3 guy in the TomSquared concoction.

Speaking of Jax, he does not attend because he it’s ridiculous to have to drive “4 hours,” polluting the environment to clean up a beach. He’s not wrong, but of course Brittany Cartwright is there. They could’ve taken the car pool lane, y’all!

Instead of just sending a quick ‘sorry I can’t make it’ text Jax sends Max a litany of rude and insulting texts basically calling him a fucking idiot, then uninviting him to the pool party he’s having the following week. Max shows the texts to everyone and they all laugh at what an asshole Jax is. Right in front of Brittany (who is rocking some seriously BIG hair in what I assume is her preparing to move to Kentucky and leave Jax). Brittany is now put in the embarrassing position of, once again, defending Jax. Well, you lay down with wild dingos you wake up having your face chewed off. And hair that looks like it got attacked by a flea treatment.

Vanderpump Rules Tom Sandoval

The Max dramas are an extension of earlier issues Jax was having with Tom 1. Jax and Tom 1 went to a sneaker cleaning store (#OnlyInLA) where he proceeded to lecture Tom about how his relationship sucks and called Ariana Madix “bitchy.” Jax’s takes issue with Ariana sometimes calling Tom out on his shit. Which is called having an adult relationship based on mutual respect. Unlike Jax’s marriage which is based on Brittany serving him ham sandwiches from a platter held by her titties. Also didn’t you just love how the producers kept in footage of Jax wiping snot off his coke nose like a bratty kid.

Tom doesn’t bother internalizing anything Jax has to say. He just delicately suggests that Jax mind his own business. Jax interprets this to mean Tom doesn’t want anyone to know the truth about his relationship with Ariana. Then he blames Tom 1 for tattling to Max about why Jax isn’t at the beach clean-up, thus instigating the rage text-a-thon when Max wondered if he was coming. The whole thing is preposterous.

It’s evident that the reading level in How To Win Friends and Influence People is beyond Jax’s capabilities, but on the other hand James Kennedy is succeeding. Or maybe that’s AA? Ever since getting sober James is feeling alive. His relationship with Raquel Leviss is the best it’s ever been. Raquel points out that now everyone gets to see how fun and funny James is without her having to constantly insist they don’t know the ‘real James.’

Vanderpump Rules James Kennedy

Also James is finally developing friendships with the people who have ostracized him for years. For instance he’s invited to Max’s beach clean-up and he doesn’t have to go worrying about people dumping garbage on him. Even Lala Kent is proud of him. And Lala’s opinion really matters, you guys! James realizes he couldn’t have done it without the support of Raquel and Lisa Vanderpump, who literally called him every day to check in. Lisa is so impressed with his success she offers him a chance to DJ at SUR again and James cries with happiness. I love sober James!!

Then there is Scheana Marie who couldn’t get more transparent if she were a pair of mesh panties. Scheana is producing a new litmus test on the outer limits of autotune capabilities, aka a song called “One More Time” about break-up sex. Can autotune take a monkey screeching for bananas and make it sound like a woman singing about relationships? Can autotune have a dolphin be made to sound like it’s having sex? Apparently yes.

Since Scheana is JUST FRIENDS with Brett Caprioni she asks him to be her co-partner in the accompanying music video which features a raunchy sex scene. Scheana cannot wait to show Dayna Kathan the footage. Dayna is shocked and right back to being irritated about how untrustworthy Scheana is.

Vanderpump Rules Brett Caprioni

When Dayna confronts Brett he claims Scheana bit and sucked his ear so hard he needs plastic surgery to reconstruct his perfect lobes. The event was so traumatic he hasn’t been able brush and style his hair since, because every time he looks in the mirror he flashes back to that horrible reality of him slapping Scheana’s thong-clad ass. Essentially he felt like Scheana violated him.

Vanderpump Rules Dayna Kathan Lala Kent

Dayna and Lala press Brett on why he would even agree to work with Scheana given that she propositioned him in the past, but you know Brett is a famewhore and any attention/exposure is good for his influencer career, right!? Lala says that Scheana’s problem is that she speaks dolphin, so when a man tells her no, her English-to-dolphin translation computes as “maybe there’s a chance.” Basically Lala implies that Scheana is somewhat of a sexual predator. I think Scheana is trying to ‘be the Rand‘ of all these young, desperate boys by buying their love and dangling a lifestyle in their faces. Albeit a valley version of it.

When Brett later tells Scheana he felt she went too far, she grins like a Cheshire Cat and scoffs that it’s called “acting.” Based on Scheana’s IMDB credits which features Skinemaxx soft-core, she’s not wrong!

After the beach cleanup Ariana and Tom have a select few close-ies over for a dinner party. They have to use a plastic folding table and chairs, but it’s the company that counts. Noticeably NOT included in the invitee list were Jax and Brittany. Hmmm…

Vanderpump Rules Max Boyens Dayna Kathan

And now our producer manipulated storyline of the day! Max still has feelings for Dayna. Just after Stassi Schroeder questioned Dayna about being part of an unintended love triangle between two besties, Max has an epiphany that his feelings are hurt. He’s pretending to be totally cool with Brett and Dayna dating, but in reality, now that Dayna is with another man he wants another chance. This is just preening. Max wants to prove he can best Brett and get Dayna back just so he can dump her again. Still it was kind of fun watching him make a fool of himself fake groveling to Dayna. It’s called acting, you guys! Thankfully Dayna basically told him she knew he was full of shit and that she’s much happier dating Brett.

Finally Kristen Doute hosts a pop-up shop for James Mae, her erstwhile T-shirt collection. Stassi and Katie Maloney are not attending, but Tom 2 goes to show his support. Isn’t this a parallel universe – Katie is willing to events where James is in attendance, but not ones with Kristen.

Since there’s a 100% chance his card will be declined if he tries to purchase anything, Jax comes with a vendetta instead. First he offers Max an excuse for the rage-texts: it’s because he’s having some mental issues because “Mercury is in Gatorade.” So, I guess Jax is back to having ‘treatments’ with this reiki healer again, huh?!

Jax doesn’t exactly specify what his break-down is over, but everyone knows that Jax is just having center of attention withdrawal. Now that his weddings over and the reality has set in that it’s back to boring old life saddled to Brittany, with no one is fawning all over him and treating him like the No 1 guy, he can’t cope.

Vanderpump Rules Kristen Doute

Jax has a literal bone to pick with Kristen. It has emerged that Kristen had sex with other guys while claiming to be still technically together with Carter and crying about how much she loves him. Kristen claims she just kissed these other guys, but one them made a sex tape of her giving him a blow job. Jax is upset because he’s been supporting and defending Kristen through all her Carter-breakdowns, but meanwhile she’s doing other guys and lying to everyone about it.

Kristen claims the tape was made “four years ago” and that Carter knows about it, but it just recently surfaced. Jax insists she’s lying and they wind up in a huge argument with Jax storming out of the pop-up. In the interview Kristen confesses that the tape was actually made recently and that, of course, she lied to Jax because she didn’t want him to judge her. Um, judgement by Jax should be the least of anyone’s concerns. However this is adding credence to why Stassi and Katie are over dealing with Kristen’s shit.

Vanderpump Rules Jax Taylor

Color me confused but why isn’t Kristen more upset that someone is sending a sex tape of her around? Or recording her giving oral? Did she know it was being recorded? Why is this crazy scenario just being dropped into the tail-end of the episode like it’s no big deal? Also I thought we were talking about how Brett accidentally made a sex tape with Scheana but now we’re finding out that Kristen made a sex tape too. Maybe Kristen was actually cast in a Scheana Marie music video!? I NEED ANSWERS, PEOPLE. Or maybe I don’t – I’m so bored of Kristen and Jax!

Vanderpump Rules Brittany Cartwright

That evening Brittany confronts Jax about his outbursts and anger. He basically tells her that he’s already tired of being married and suggests that she maybe take a trip to Kentucky. Yes – this way he can get attention for all his marital woes. That’s as transparent as Scheana’s ‘music video’.

TELL US – WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH KRISTEN’S SEX TAPE? WAS JAX RIGHT TO OFFER ADVICE TO TOM 1? DID SCHEANA SEXUALLY HARASS BRETT?

Marlo Hampton Shoots Down Accusations She’s Nene Leakes’ “Lapdog”; Says Nene Doesn’t “Ride For Her” The Same Way

Marlo Hampton Shoots Down Accusations She’s Nene Leakes’ “Lapdog”; Says Nene Doesn’t “Ride For Her” The Same Way

Marlo Hampton has been featured on The Real Housewives of Atlanta from all the way back in Season 4, but it’s only been in the past three years that she’s secured an official recurring gig as a Friend of the Housewives. And in that time, Marlo has constantly sided with Nene Leakes, at times acting as the RHOA OG’s one and only friend among the group of Georgia Peaches.

As such, Marlotta has developed something of a reputation as Nene‘s latest “lapdog” in the eyes of Housewives like Kenya Moore, Eva Marcille and Cynthia Bailey. However, in a new interview with Nene, the Friend of the Housewives is speaking out against the label and even calling the OG out on how one-sided their friendship can be.

“I mean, [they’ve] rolled me out for seasons: I’m her lapdog, I don’t have my own mind,” Marlo said during the Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show, before turning to Nene. “You know behind the scenes I tell you how I feel.”

“That’s a bunch of bullshit when people saying ‘lapdog.'” Nene countered. “I think that that makes you guys feel some kind of way; that’s why they say it. They say it to make you guys feel some kind of way because obviously, no one is my lapdog. Why do I need a lapdog? ” (Why Nene insisted on referring to Marlo as “you guys” is just as confusing to me as it is to you — carry on.)

“But I will say this: I’m a friend, you know I ride hard,” Marlo continued. “You know I’m poppin’ up at your house, I’mma be in my feelings, so I ride hard. My loyalty? I love all of them, but Nene, we’re closer; she’s told me a little more.”

However, it does seem Marlo takes her role as Friend of the Housewives quite seriously, insisting that she’s invested time and energy into building some kind of relationship with nearly all the ‘Wives. (And credit where credit is due: she did try to broker a fragile peace between Nene and Cynthia early in the season before the entire endeavor promptly blew up in her face with Linnethia fleeing the conversation and riding off in a pedicab through Central Park…)

“I’m getting to know the girls and it does feel good,” Marlo said. “And I’m getting to know the one who you can’t tell nothing to; who you just have a good time with; the one you can talk business with; the one you can just kick it with. And I just realize with these girls, they fall in, they fall out…Hey, let me just become friends with who I want to become friends with. Every friend serves a different purpose.”

“Without question,” Nene then jumped in, cutting off her friend. “Yeah, but I think as a friend, it is nothing wrong with taking up for your friend and standing firm on that. So I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Now you would want me to do that for you. If all them were ridin’ the shit out of you, you would want me sitting there, ‘That’s my friend and I’m not gonna sit here and listen to you guys do the bullshit for your friend.'”

However, Marlo quickly got the last word, checking Nene for a certain imbalance of loyalty in their relationship. “Your ass don’t always ride for me like that though,” she said. “[You’ll] clown me around even them. You ride for me but you will kiki with them.”
