Last week it appeared that Abbi Murphy was poised to permanently leave Below Deck to marry her Greek sailboat captain boyfriend after an impromptu text proposal.
We know Abbi did in fact get married, but it also appears that she leaves the show over frustrations with the insane amount of work required to make pampered nouveau riche guests believe no demand is too outrageous!
Abbi quitting mid-charter leaves the remaining deck crew reeling from being down a crew member. Even though he’s feeling seriously ill Tanner Sterback tries to make up the slack by working through his sickness, which results in him feeling much worse.
Kevin Dobson, however, continues to face his own crisis as he struggles to redeem himself in Captain Lee Rosbach‘s eyes with a majorly risky dinner concoction that doesn’t exactly appeal to a girl’s trip charter full of aging party cougars!
Despite bragging constantly that she loves laundry, Simone Mashile realizes that even though she’s technically the 2nd stew she’s actually handling all the 3rd stew duties but not getting the opportunity to handle the guests. Instead Courtney Skippon, who hates work, has managed to sidle into the more prestigious position and also into Brian de Saint Per‘s heart.
Courtney finally starts to relent and entertain some of Brian’s flirtations, which has Ashton Pienaar feeling rejected. Ashton seeks to forget his troubles by flirting with every woman in sight during the crew night out – including a very, very unlikely target!

During last night’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams revealed that Dennis McKinley asked for her engagement ring back after he cheated and sent her a million flowers claiming he wanted to get back together.
After the episode, Cynthia Bailey appeared on Watch What Happens Live to continue talking shit about NeNe Leakes to dish on the episode. After going through a public split herself, with ex-husband Peter Thomas, Cynthia talked about where they stand these days.
A fan asked Cynthia, “Has Peter called you to congratulate you on your engagement?” She revealed, “No, he has not.”
Andy Cohen was pretty surprised by Cynthia’s answer and I totally get that considering how long Peter lingered on RHOA post-split. They even went on a couples vacation while they waited for their divorce papers to go through. He even filmed with Cynthia’s daughter Noelle Robinson post-split, but I guess being amicable is a little more difficult now that Peter and Cynthia are both in new relationships. And the fact that Peter still hangs with Cynthia’s best-friend-turned-nemesis NeNe Leakes.
While discussing the Porsha and Dennis drama, Andy asked Cynthia, “When you and Peter got divorced, did you keep the ring or give it back?” Cynthia admitted, “I did keep the ring.” And then, she declared, “I earned the ring. I mean…” We all know that’s true. Peter put her through a lot. She was basically his financial sponsor throughout their marriage. And then there was that super incriminating video that made its rounds on the internet when Peter got a little too close for comfort with a woman who wasn’t Cynthia. She sure did earn that ring and I wouldn’t be surprised if she pulled a Vicki Gunvalson (allegedly) and paid for it too.

At the end of the day, no one can escape cancer. It doesn’t matter how rich you are or how famous you’ve become, this disease affects everyone. If you are lucky enough not to have it, you probably know someone who does. In 2018, Vanderpump Rules star, Ariana Madix was diagnosed with melanoma. This is obviously a far cry from the usual news we get from the Pump Rules camp. This does not involve alcohol or betraying a significant other. Nothing was filmed to provoke sympathy or attention.
We might actually be able to learn something from this one. And really, everyone should heed the warning. Ariana and longtime love Tom Sandoval were busy living their best lives. But while they were buying big houses and creating fancy cocktail books, something not so great was happening in Ariana’s body. She questioned her physician repeatedly over the years about a mark on her skin, and finally it was tested. Now Ariana is opening up about her diagnosis and subsequent surgery. She also has a message we should all listen to.
Ariana didn’t make a big deal about her cancer diagnosis. Believe it or not, despite what we are used to, not every medical event is plastered all over the media ad-nauseum. One year ago, Ariana was being wheeled into surgery. She had a mole biopsied and was advised she had melanoma. Because the mole was close to lymph nodes, it was surgery time.
Recently, Ariana took to Instagram to share a video taken by Tom. It was a rather intimate look at someone about to go under the knife and certainly not for elective reasons. Ariana felt it could be used in a positive manner and hopefully help other people.
The video shows Ariana after clearly being visited by an anesthesiologist. Tom said good-bye and gave his love as she was taken into the operating room. Ariana included the following caption, “I’ve been debating posting this for so long but whatever! I’m doing it. Officially the spookiest thing i’ve ever experienced! A year ago, I wasn’t able to celebrate my favorite holiday bc I had just undergone surgery for melanoma. Being told that cancer was living rent-free on my body for years was scarier than any 80’s slasher movie.”
Then Ariana thanked her physicians and Tom, for taking care of her during and after the surgery. “Thankfully, I had an amazing doctor, the amazing @tomsandoval1 to take care of me.” She received numerous comments of support from her followers, as well as her co-stars. Former SUR hostess Billie Lee wrote, “You woke my ass up for sure. I had all my moles removed and checked.” Friend and castmate Mrs. Jason Cauchi Brittany Cartwright said, “Love you girl!”
Ariana ended her post with some valuable advice, “[M]oral of the story: if you’re unsure of something on your body, GET CHECKED and then GET CHECKED AGAIN!” Y’all won’t find me often telling you to follow someone’s advice, especially anyone from Pump Rules. That includes whatever handy tips Kristen Doute might have about dating. BUT, listen to those who have been through it and always be a patient advocate for YOURSELF.
Glad to see Ariana is cancer-free and had a positive experience after surgery. We love the sun, but it is also trying to kill us, so wear your sunscreen liberally. Thanks to Ariana for sharing her perspective! Vanderpump Rules will return to it’s regularly scheduled debauchery in January 2020.

When you think about it, Bravo really changed the face of reality television. Sure, Bravo didn’t invent the genre, but over the years, the network has taken risks to start a wide variety of reality themed shows–from real estate to yachting and more. Many of these shows have been very successful and have been game changers in the reality television world.
Of course, the franchise Bravo is probably best known for is the Real Housewives. Who knew in 2006 that the franchise would still be going strong in 2019. From the original Real Housewives of Orange County, the show has landed in cities from New York to Dallas to Beverly Hills. One of the most successful spin-offs has been the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Recently, Peter Thomas, who used to be a regular on the show when married to Cynthia Bailey, shared his thoughts about how the men on the Housewives shows are portrayed.
Peter made an Instagram post and stated, “This housewife shit wasn’t easy, everyday was challenging because you never know how one minute while you’re taping can make the world look at you when they see it, it was NEVER in the best interest of Bravo to show men in a positive light, look at these people reality, I am glad that I landed on my feet after all that was given.”
We all know Peter did not have an easy time as the husband of Cynthia on the show. But was it because of Bravo? While Peter was on RHOA, he was caught cozying up to a woman who was not his wife. Cynthia eventually filed for divorce, with Peter claiming he had been “blindsided.” He has also had multiple legal issues during and after his time as a House Husband, including being sued by an investor and an arrest for allegedly writing a counterfeit check. Most recently, Peter was hit with a $237,000 tax lien. I hate it when Bravo makes that stuff happen!
Peter finished up his post by declaring, “Play the game, don’t let the game play you.” So, maybe Peter just hasn’t been so good at playing the game. Peter tagged other current and former Atlanta husbands in his post, including Apollo Nida, Todd Tucker, Kordell Stewart, and Gregg Leakes.
Probably the only RHOA husband to fare worse than Peter has been Apollo, who was sent to prison for five years for identity theft, fraud and conspiracy while married to Phaedra Parks. But, what did Bravo have to do with that? Apollo’s decisions and actions were all his own.
Divorces can be especially hard for the husbands, as once they split from a cast member, they lose what little voice they had as a part of the show. We have all witnessed Housewives like RHOC’s Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador slamming their exes season after season on the show. That does seem a little unfair as it is a one-sided view of the divorce.
The Real Housewives of New York’s Ramona Singer’s ex Mario Singer had his infidelity played up as a storyline for several seasons, despite being MIA from the show. Ramona, surprisingly, was very easy on him after their split. Still, it can’t be pleasant to have your indiscretions played out for the world to see.
On this season of RHOC, Shane Simpson has come across as a complete douche to his wife Emily Simpson. He seems to have few filters and apparently doesn’t care how asinine he comes across on camera. But doesn’t he make a choice to film and to be on the show? Bravo is only showing how Shane is behaving and speaking while filming.
Several Real Housewives of Dallas husbands have also come up short on the “positive television image” scale. Stephanie Hollman’s husband Travis Hollman came across as a controlling jerk during the show’s first season.
Most recently, LeeAnne Locken’s brand new hubby Rich Emberlin was caught on camera commenting on attractive women. At his wedding! Again, Rich acted this way on his own, knowing he was filming.
Certainly, many of the husbands have come off not looking so great on camera. But Bravo doesn’t put words in their mouths or make them behave in certain ways. Or force them to sign contracts. And just think about how many of the actual Housewives can come off on the shows! The portrayals of the husbands might just be a snippet of their real lives, but that is the nature of reality television.
Some husbands acquit themselves well on camera and probably have benefited financially from their time on the show, like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Ken Todd and Mauricio Umansky. To me, it is really up to the husbands or partners to determine their image. If you are a decent, considerate person, you are probably going to fare just fine on the show. If not, the camera doesn’t lie.

It’s been interesting to watch newly-promoted Bosun Ashton Pienaar on Season 7 of Below Deck. Maybe he really deserved the job. Or perhaps Ashton’s advancement had something to do with him nearly dying on camera last season. It remains to be seen how Ashton will fare as bosun, but he has already made some questionable management decisions, such as trying to hook up with deckhand Abbi Murphy.
Then there are the more subtle things. Ashton seems to be straddling the fence between boss and friend. It’s certainly a harder situation when you live in close quarters with your co-workers.
In lieu of a potential breakdown of law and order in the deck crew, Captain Lee Rosbach spent a good part of his most recent blog post giving Ashton management advice.
Captain Lee summed up the issues by saying, “Ashton, being in management is a bit overrated isn’t it? You are learning that it’s really difficult to be a friend to your crew and a boss at the same time. I don’t think they mean to take advantage of you, but it always seems to happen.”
Brian de Saint Per gave Ashton a bit of trouble last week by breaking something quite expensive then bypassing his bosun to tell Captain Lee instead. He said of the incident, “Brian, is a good example of that. He was upset because he got caught doing it and called out for it. You can be a friendly boss, but rarely does the situation occur that you can be friends and a good boss as well. Friends would put their job first, in order to make sure that you as their boss don’t look bad and to make sure you didn’t get called out. But you seem to be doing that for them.”
Abbi may have gotten away with more than the others. She was not able to get to work on time and Ashton made the mistake of letting her sleep undisturbed. Captain Lee explained, “After a night out, and you didn’t roust Abbi’s butt out of the rack, because she drank too much and I think that was a mistake on your part. Everyone else answered the bell but her. I wouldn’t have waited for her to get up, I’d have woke her up and told her, time to pay your dues.”
Captain Lee continued, “Remember this is a self-inflicted illness brought on herself so she could have what she thought was a good time. Those decisions come with a price, that you didn’t make her pay. Would you have left Brian slide the same way? And I can see that you are trying very hard and are picking up the slack for a couple of people, one deserving, and the other not so much.”
So what can Ashton do to turn this bosun thing around? Captain Lee had some suggestions, “Remember they look for you to lead them, and when you do that correctly, they will in turn get results, but as a boss, results are what you will be judged by, not by how much your team wants to go to the bar and drink with you. I thought you telling the rest of the crew about your conversation with Brian was proper and I just hope they listen up and do the right thing by you.”
Hopefully, Ashton can get his team under control.

The divorce between former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan Edmonds and Jim Edmonds is shaping up to be a big old mess. After news of Jim’s sexting scandal broke in June, the couple seemed to be working things out. Of course, all that changed in late October when the couple split amid Meghan’s allegations that Jim had an inappropriate relationship with one of their nannies, Carly Wilson. At that point, many well-known couples would have taken a social media and press break. Not our Meghan and Jim!
Since their split, the two have been engaged in an ongoing war of words and damage control. Jim denied the nanny accusations and said Meghan was “negligent” and “careless” to accuse him of nanny tomfoolery. Jim then backtracked a bit and said that he was saddened that Meghan was hurt. Meghan, of course, couldn’t leave well enough alone and accused Jim of “drinking and partying with much younger women.” More drama than a telenovela! Of course, that couldn’t be the end of it–not with these two.
In an interview with US Weekly, Meghan felt the need to give a bit of historical context to their split. Meghan explained that after the sexting scandal, she not only blamed Jim, but also his mother for his behavior. She declared, “Jim’s mom has her own set of demons and when Jim sexted on me I emotionally unloaded on her for not nurturing her baby son so many years ago. There are many reasons for me arriving at this conclusion.”
Oh Meghan–you are blaming the mother of a nearly 50-year-old man for his decision to engage in sexting? Really? By my calculations your husband has been an adult–at least chronologically–for over 30 years. Poor Mama Edmonds–it’s always the mother-in-laws’ fault!
Meghan went on to say, “I blamed his mom for part of Jim’s demons that led to his cheating on me. It wasn’t fair of me to do but this is what Hayley is referring to.”
Drama queen Meghan is referencing an earlier statement made by Jim’s daughter Hayley Edmonds that the way Meghan treated her grandmother was “disgusting.” We have no specific details on this–but I think we need some. Just for scientific research purposes. And to keep us from falling asleep.
Despite her marriage being in tatters from Jim’s sex-capades, Meghan claims she wanted to stay married. She stated, “I wanted to work things out really badly. I had ignored his bad behavior and swept it under the rug for so long but after he sexted, it became impossible for me to continue to do so.”
As Meghan did not give all of the juicy details of Jim’s alleged bad behavior, we are left to take her word for it. Which, at this point, I am not so convinced is unbiased or completely factual.
According to Meghan, she wanted Jim to confess to his sins and repent, but she did not get what she was hoping for. Meghan claimed, “Instead of taking accountability, becoming transparent and making sacrifices to heal the hurt he caused me, he went the exact opposite direction and instead became a victim.”
Unfortunately, the Edmonds drama continued last week as Jim called the cops on Meghan when he questioned her ability to care for their children after she reportedly had “a few glasses of wine” on a night out. Nothing came of this, however. Was it retaliation for earlier police calls made on Jim at the time of their split?
Something tells me neither Meghan nor Jim is going to go silent any time soon. This split is shaping up to be a Tamra Judge or Shannon Beador style divorce with all the trimmings. Do we really need another one?

Kenya Moore’s return last week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta was incredible. She never should have left and now she’s back and holding her rightful peach. The first episode was very BABY heavy, but the drama is coming. Seeing Porsha Williams and Kenya finally become friends is the greatest thing to ever happen to Atlanta. IT’S ABOUT TIME.
One thing that was crazy during the premiere was the absence of Nene Leakes. We now know the reason why, but it was still weird not seeing her. Nene’s feud with Kenya is a big selling point of this season, so hopefully, we see some of that soon. The first tension of the season is already brewing between Kenya and model Eva Marcille. Was it weird that Eva didn’t want her baby around Kenya? KINDA, but that’s classic Atlanta shade.
The aftermath of the Barbie party is about to set up so much drama for the season. I’m living for Kenya and Porsha’s taglines though. Slay my soul. Nene’s is blah. Give us something better than that if you want to claim the title of juiciest peach.
SO MUCH BABY TALK. Baby peaches everywhere. Cynthia Bailey expresses annoyance with Kenya telling Porsha about her fiancé’s rumored lover at Kandi Burruss’ restaurant.
Kenya and Porsha are in a good place right now, so she was upfront right away. What’s wrong with that? Why would Cynthia, Eva, and Kandi want to drag that out?
Also, it’s not shocking that Porsha would suspect Kandi to be involved. Kandi’s camp has a history of being involved in sketchy moments.
Porsha confronts Kandi and Cynthia about waiting to tell her about Dennis McKinley’s rumored lover. Cynthia asks if Porsha thinks they can work it out, and Kandi wonders if they can get past cheating. That tells all about Kandi and Todd Tucker’s marriage!
Kandi speculates the blog rumors about Dennis are true, but Porsha’s giving them nothing. Porsha is fighting for her family right now and doesn’t want to be fodder for hot gossip. Porsha wants her daughter to have her father in her life, which gives me such respect for her.
She reveals that Dennis asked for the ring back which is a bold move. YOU did the alleged cheating. Kandi doesn’t want this to take over Porsha’s life, so it’s good to see genuine care there. What a long way these two have come from the Season 9 reunion!
Eva’s still filling in for Porsha at her job, and this maternity leave seems like it’s taking forever. Is Porsha ever coming back to work? Porsha needs to go back to work because it might help distract from the Dennis drama.
Cynthia stirs the pot by telling Eva about the topic of conversation after she left the Barbie event. Eva says to let it go because she isn’t here for their drama this season.
Cynthia invites Eva to join her shopping for a Pride event in NYC, which’ll be fun. They’re both gorgeous beyond belief. Two iconic models! If Kenya shows up to Pride, things might go south for Eva.
Kenya calls Marc Daly, and so far things seem to be alright between them. It’s sad to know that their marriage is nearing the end of the road. Kenya looks so happy finally becoming a mother.
This is all she’s ever wanted, and I’m thrilled for her. She discusses picking her battles with Marc, which is a good idea. The marriage is still fairly new, and it’s not worth it to constantly fight. A LOT of foreshadowing with Kenya and her marriage already this season.
Cynthia’s daughter Noelle Robinson is experiencing a lot of anxiety at college, but her mom is loving life. Things are going great with Mike Hill. This is the first time Noelle has seen her mother in love.
She cites Peter Thomas as an example of what not to be like in a relationship. TRUE THOUGH. Move on from that old man!
Cynthia’s daughter confesses that she likes both guys and girls at college. It’s good that Cynthia loves and supports her daughter no matter what. A lot of parents don’t provide that for their children so kudos to Ms. Bailey.
Kandi meets up with Marlo Hampton at an indoor trampoline park for some family fun. It’s super weird seeing Marlo in a family environment.
She’s taken in a lot of her nephews, and this is an entirely new side of her. All we ever see of Marlo is messiness and shady moments. This is so refreshing.
Kandi says that NeNe reached out to her and wants to move forward. That’s good because NeNe had such an attitude with everyone last season.
They discuss the closet incident from last season, and Kandi sort of blames Marlo for that. Hopefully, NeNe can rejoin Real Housewives of Atlanta soon and start to make amends. I doubt it, but anything’s possible.
Porsha hangs out with Shamea Morton, and it’s crazy how different their lives are now. Not much twerking going on these days!
She tells Shamea that she and Dennis had a lot to drink the night before and hooked up. Does this mean things are better?
It’s possible Porsha might be pregnant which is the last thing that relationship needs. Porsha’s confused now about the different signals being sent in the relationship. Tell Dennis THE DOOR IS CLOSED and move on!
She doesn’t think Dennis would cheat again, but she’s conflicted about what to do. You got the baby. Now, do like Kenya and call that off!
Kenya has no idea how to operate her new car, and it’s hilarious. Read the manual honey. Kenya is so shady, and I love it.
She goes to a crystal healing store with Cynthia to get stuff to fix her energy. One point for Kenya, and zero for Eva. Kenya doesn’t look happy about Cynthia’s friendship with Eva at all.
Cynthia thinks Kenya is too much in her feelings about what Porsha told her last week. Since when are Cynthia and Eva are so close?
Kenya says that hopefully, Cynthia isn’t picking her men the way she picks her friends. Kenya is forever the queen of shade.
There is a lot of Cynthia in this episode. Like A LOT. She’s joined by Eva and Kandi for dress shopping which is an interesting combination.
Kandi is just as confused about Cynthia and Eva’s friendship as everyone else. Did we miss the bestie memo?
Despite the drama with NeNe, Cynthia feels like Pride will be a cordial interaction. Kandi tells Eva what Porsha told Kenya, and now a new feud is born.
Eva gives us a Mariah Carey “I don’t know her” moment regarding Kenya. I have to applaud any nod to MiMi. Eva brings up the blogs about Dennis and says Porsha should worry about her own business. OOF.
Porsha’s going to couple’s therapy with Dennis to try to fix the relationship. For the sake of their family, hopefully, it works out.
In an ideal world, Porsha and Dennis will work through everything. However, anything can happen. There’s no guarantee, they’ll work through their problems successfully.
Porsha comes out of the office a half-hour later CRYING HER EYES OUT. Things did not go well at all. Dennis confessed to having sex with another woman while Porsha was pregnant.
She says it was the most sacred time of her life, and this is the worst betrayal. It doesn’t seem like she’s open to any sort of reconciliation. Porsha won’t stop crying while she explains what happened to her sister Lauren.
Next week features the return of Nene to Real Housewives of Atlanta. So, everyone better watch out. I’m sure she has a lot to say to her former friend Cynthia.
