How Kody Brown’s Lack of Polygamous Organization Let His Three Marriages Down

The master of the polygamous house, Kody Brown, has never been a man of good decisions. He first chose to pack his family up and fell to Utah in the middle of the night. He then chose Sin City as their new home, leaving most of the family stunned. And finally, even though everyone was happy in their Las Vegas cul-de-sac, he chose to uproot his 18 kids and four wives in order to relocate to Flagstaff, Arizona. The man couldn’t be stopped when it came to his ability to cause disorganized chaos. And it seems his issues ran even deeper than Sister Wives fans ever thought.

Kody Brown admits he made a mistake

During a recent episode of Sister Wives, Kody revealed that he had made one crucial misstep in his marriage with Meri Brown, Christine Brown, and Janelle Brown. According to Kody, “I was flying by the seat of my pants most of the time.” The husband-to-one now added that when it came to scheduling private time with his wife, he was “Just creative.”  In his confessional, it was clear that Kody might resent some other polygamous families he knew since they seemed to have their life together. The TLC star noted, “I’ve seen other people who are much more well-organized, with flexibility.”

Kody added, “And I’ve seen people who are just completely rigid, you know, where there is no flexibility. I’ve known polygamists who wouldn’t even stay with his wife on her birthday because it was out of the sync of the schedule.” But after taking some time to look back on his decisions Kody admitted to cameras that his flying by the seat of his pants approach had a few faults. “For me,” he shared, “I believe in retrospect that my style of living plural marriage was a little bit too flexible.”

Kody Brown’s ex-wives agree with him

There isn’t a lot that these four can agree on, but Janelle did try to give Kody a bit of credit. She stated he was “pretty good about being fair, really fair, with his time.” But all bets were off whenever the family decided to travel. Christine Brown sided with Janelle’s assessment, adding, “I remember we’d get to hotels always, and he never would say where he was going to stay. We never knew.” But the family planner, Meri Brown, didn’t appreciate their chaotic lifestyle.

Kody’s first wife shared, “I’m a planner. Like, I want to know what to expect. And I just very often wouldn’t get that kind of respect, you know, to even know. And he would just, like, show up.” Robyn Brown didn’t go against Kody and said she “wasn’t really paying attention to Kody’s schedule. I was okay if he wasn’t there, and I was okay if he was there. It was great either way.” But “It seemed like it was a thing for a couple of my sister wives.” Oh boy, not Robyn firing shots now that she finally has Kody to herself.

Kody Brown wanted a patriarchy

Perhaps the humor in his revelation is that Kody always claimed he wanted his love multiplied, but he failed to divide his time equally. During the episode, Janelle admitted, “I used to dread when he would stay with me because it’s such a disruption. I just want to have my own space.” This isn’t the first time Kody has stated that he wished he had controlled his family unit better. In Season 17, he told his three remaining wives, “I’m going to be the head of my household again. And I’m not going to be circumvented in that. If everybody’s willing to conform to patriarchy again … ’cause I’ve been fighting to make everybody happy.”

Kody shared that his “Bitterness is out of trying to do that and not having the family that I had thought about and designed.” He added, “And if it’s too awkward. Or if I don’t feel like I’m the head of my household when people are around, then I’m not gonna have the whole family together. I’m at a point now in my life where I don’t have time to waste on people who won’t respect me or treat me with respect, so we’ll see how that goes.” Even though Kody might now be seeing the error of his ways, it is too little too late.

Sister Wives is available to stream on TLC.

Christine Brown’s Memoir: Everything Sister Wives Fans Need To Know

The Sister Wives star made a big life change three years ago when she chose to leave Kody Brown in the dust. Now, Christine Brown is more than ready to spill the tea about what really happened behind closed doors. Viewers have heard more than enough of Kody’s side. Including the moment when the mother of six eating nachos grossed him out. Now, Christine has every right to let the skeletons in her closet loose, and personally, I can’t wait.

The fall will bring about a change for Christine Brown

According to the publisher, Simon & Schuster, Christine is set to release her book. It is entitled, Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family and Finding Freedom, on September 6, 2025. The tell-all book is described as “a groundbreaking and heartfelt memoir about living in a family like no other and finding the strength to leave Mormonism. And the only life she’s known—behind.” As fans know, Christine had always “dreamed of having a picture-perfect family with beautiful children and an adoring husband. And of course, a sisterhood of wives to share him with. Raised in Utah by practicing polygamists, Christine knew her life was less than normal. But that didn’t stop her from loving the full house of her childhood any less.”

Viewers first met Christine in 2010 during Season 1 of Sister Wives. She was Kody’s third wife and pregnant with her sixth child. Fans watched as she navigated the tricky roads after the patriarch started courting his fourth wife. During the first few years of the series, all seemed fine with their relationship. If anything, it was obvious that Christine was head over heels for Kody. But as life got harder and after two giant moves, she started to see her life going in a much different direction.

Christine Brown is happier than ever

The book will detail Christine’s humble beginnings up to the launch of Sister Wives. The publisher added, “Becoming Kody Brown’s third wife in 1994, Christine finally found the big, happy family she had hoped for. When TLC’s hit show Sister Wives premiered in 2010, Christine knew it was her chance to shine a light on the brighter side of polygamy – the helping hands, the lively discussions, and their unmatched devotion to each other. But the cameras also revealed a much darker truth.” The last few seasons have shown just how controlling Kody has been over the years. He has often left the women little choices and now is down to only one wife.

The blurb adds, “Now, in this candid tell-all, Christine shares for the first time the journey that led her away from the Morman church and the bold path she is carving to live apart from all she has ever known. Moving, genuine, and insightful, this is a uniquely powerful tour de force of Christine’s journey toward and beyond her time in the spotlight as a sister wife.”

Christine Brown is ready to get her hands dirty

With all the excitement, Christine took to her Instagram to share the news that she was now an author. While wearing a bright red blazer and smiling, she wrote, “I have a book about my life coming soon!! You can preorder it TODAY use the site listed at the bottom and the link in the comments. It is gritty and honest as I tell my story of living polygamy as a child, to my marriage and family life.” As fans know Christine, grew up in the Allred family which was considered polygamy royalty.

Christine admitted, “It shows my heartache with leaving religion and my marriage to FINALLY meeting @david__woolley I’m so excited I partnered with @kellyskennedy the AMAZING and talented author (I did NOT write it myself even though every word is mine) I’m grateful to @simonandschuster for believing in my book and publishing it! Special thanks to @schmidt_elizaj for my hair and makeup for my book cover. I love all three of my outfit choices. I wonder which one will make it to the cover?” Sister Wives fans have been waiting years for a genuine tell-all book and hope that Christine doesn’t hold back anything.

Sister Wives is available on TLC.

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 7 has come to an end. This season followed the journeys of eight couples as they risked it all to meet their partners for the first time. While some relationships this season blossomed, others didn’t work out. By the end of the Tell All, three couples were still together while the other five had broken up. Here’s the full scoop on who’s still going strong and who parted ways.

Tigerlily Abdelfattah and Adnan Abdelfattah – Still Together

Tigerlily Abdelfattah married her husband Adnan Abdelfattah at the beginning of the season and the couple is still together today. After getting married, they had their first child together, a baby boy named Zeyn. Despite running into cultural differences throughout the season, Tigerlily and Adnan made their relationship work. During the Tell All, they were the only couple to attend together in person. Adnan explained that his visa was processed quickly. The couple are currently living together in Tigerlily’s home state of Texas.

Niles Valentine and Matilda Nti – Still Together

Niles Valentine and Matilda Nti also got married during Season 7. After traveling to Ghana to meet Matilda for the first time, Niles decided that he was ready to get married on the same trip. The couple had a traditional Ghanaian wedding and were surrounded by Matilda’s family and friends. During the Tell All, Niles revealed that he and Matilda are currently working on finalizing Matilda’s visa process.

Joe Coan and Magda Szlachta – Still Together

The most surprising couple to succeed this season are Joe Coan and Magda Szlachta. Joe and Magda were the last couple introduced this season, however, they quickly emerged as one of the strongest. When Joe flew to Poland to meet Magda, she expressed concerns about his past. Nonetheless, the couple worked through their troubles and are still going strong today. During the Tell All, Joe revealed that Magda came to visit him in the US after filming. Joe plans to propose to Magda in the near future when the time is right.

Veah Netherton and Sunny Mahdi – Broken Up

Veah Netherton and Sunny Mahdi had one of the most complicated storylines this season. After getting engaged during Veah’s trip to South Africa, the couple later split due to concerns from Sunny’s father. However, during the Tell All, Veah explained that she and Sunny had rekindled their relationship and were doing better than ever. Things were so good that they had already begun the K1 visa process. However, Sunny was unhappy that Veah had gone on a date with her dog-sitter during their brief break. After the Tell All, news broke that Veah had since married her dog-sitter. Talk about a crazy turn of events.

Brian Munoz and Ingrid Rezende – Broken Up

Brian Muniz and Ingrid Rezende are another couple who unfortunately didn’t work out on Season 7. Following Brian’s arrival in Brazil, Ingrid quickly learned that there was a lot more to Brian than she realized. Brian had lied about his age as well as his past as a drug dealer. On the other hand, Brian felt that Ingrid wasn’t who she presented herself to be either. At the end of the day, Brian and Ingrid just weren’t compatible. During the Tell All, Brian and Ingrid revealed that they are both in new relationships.

Loren Allen and Faith Gatoc Tulod – Broken Up

Loren Allen and Faith Gatoc Tulod were one of the most controversial couples this season, mainly because of Loren. From the jump, Loren displayed concerning behavior. He told Faith that he had contracted an STD while sleeping with another woman during their relationship and even wanted to marry her mother at a point. Loren and Faith got engaged at the end of the season, although it ended when Faith became concerned about an incident with Loren involving a knife. At the Tell All, Loren and Faith agreed that they were back together. Before it ended, however, Faith abruptly ended things with Loren.

Vanja Grbic and Božo Vrdoljak – Broken Up

Vanja Grbic and Božo Vrdoljak’s relationship didn’t last long in Season 7. Despite traveling to Croatia with high hopes, Vanja was let down when Božo didn’t feel any chemistry with her in person. Vanja tried to make the most of her trip by continuing to explore the dating scene in Croatia. She eventually met Josko Luketin and things went well between them for a while. Unfortunately, Josko ended up blindsiding Vanja by breaking up with her at the end of the season.

Rayne Fernandez and Chidi Ikpeamaeze – Broken Up

Rayne Fernandez and Chidi Ikpeamaeze were another couple with a short run on Season 7. At the start of the season, Rayne flew to Nigeria in hopes of building a future with Chidi. It wasn’t long, however, before things began to go south. Rayne found herself in conflict with Chidi’s older sister Victoria, for reasons that weren’t clear. After a huge flight, Rayne left their home and moved into a hotel. Chidi attempted to work things out with Rayne, but they were unable to compromise. Neither Rayne nor Chidi attended the Tell All.

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days is available to stream on Discovery Plus.
