Danielle Staub and Marty Caffrey Drop Restraining Orders Against Each Other
Danielle Staub‘s publicity stunt marriage is coming to an end quicker than her friendship with Jacqueline Laurita did. Just days after Danielle and estranged husband Marty Caffrey announced their split and filed mutual restraining orders against each other, they’ve now decided to drop them.
After 19 engagements (and lord knows how many marriages) Danielle claimed to have finally met Prince Charming in Marty, whom she married in May during filming for the upcoming season of Real Housewives Of New Jersey. 21st times a charm, maybe?
Anyway, last week Danielle retained legal counsel to disband her marriage and accused Marty of tormenting her at home by hiding photos of her daughters and disengaging the garage door. She then sought an order of protection, because she believes “that [Marty] is attempting to tarnish her reputation and career by making repeated false reports to the media.” Danielle needs NO help in tarnishing her reputation. She can thank Cop Without A Badge and Teresa Giudice herself for that!

Marty retaliated by seeking his own restraining order, claiming Danielle has physically threatened him multiple times throughout their relationship. Yet, like the victim in a Lifetime movie starring Judith Light, Marty went through with the wedding anyway! Cause: TV cameras.
Today both parties have had a change of heart. No, no – they’re not rekindling their marriage, but they are done wasting the courts time with restraining order nonsense! Page Six reports that the divorce is still very “imminent” and that just like Danielle herself, her marriage is beyond saving, although it does appear that she’s met her craziness match in Marty. And two crazies don’t make a sane! Well, Danielle certainly earned her return to RHONJ then.

Real Housewives Of Orange County’s Emily Simpson Weighs In On Her Husband’s Poker Party-Pooping
The only thing that assaulted my senses more than Gina Kirschenheiter’s voice on this week‘s Real Housewives of Orange County was Shannon Beador’s poker suit. However, what truly grated on my last nerve was newbie Emily Simpson’s husband Shane harping about how loud Gina was. His wife threw a poker party that included shots of Fireball as part of the place setting which was being filmed for a reality show. Did he expect demure whispers? He surely knew what his wife was signing up for when she joined the cast. Annoying.
On the other hand, should Emily even be a part of this cast? From my perspective she seems far too intelligent and normal to roll with this crew. Even her take on Gina’s foul mouth and Shane’s whining is measured, mature, and gracious. Her legal background is going to serve her well on RHOC—well, it likely won’t help her deal with the other orange wielding wackadoos, but it will be beneficial to viewers who want to read a well-written blog that isn’t fraught with typos and horrible grammar.
Rehashing the evening to Bravo, Emily explains her motive for the poker party. She explains, “I’ve always loved hosting parties at my home, especially girls’ nights! After reconnecting with Tamra [Judge], becoming fast friends with Gina, and then being introduced to Shannon, Kelly [Dodd], and Vicki [Gunvalson], I really wanted to invite them all into my home for a fun girls’ night! I chose to host a poker party because I always love a good themed party and had just returned from Las Vegas with Shane. Shane and I had just spent a weekend in Vegas celebrating our 9th anniversary, so I had Vegas on my mind. I figured a Poker Party would be a fun way for us all to get together, play some games, and let our hair extensions down.
Gina had a good time at the poker party
She shares, “I was happy to welcome all the ladies into my home, showcase my hosting skills, and excited to introduce them to my mother-in-law, Pary, and sister-in-law, Shireen. I really enjoyed planning this whole evening and looked forward to spending time with the ladies and getting to know them better! Shane was such a good sport about the party being held at our home. He’s used to me hosting lots of parties and always obliges to me taking over the home with food and flowers and loud ladies. To make the party set up and evening easier on me, Shane took Annabelle (age 5) and Chanel (age 12) out to Chuck E Cheese during the duration of the party. My boys were asleep upstairs with the nanny. With the children all taken care of, I could concentrate on providing these ladies a fun night of food, drinks, and fun.”
When asked if Gina’s behavior bothered her as much as it seemed to bother the other guests, Emily wasn’t bothered at all. She admits, “While I did recognize that Gina can get loud after a few drinks, I can totally appreciate how much she’s up for having a good time! She’s a party planner’s dream guest…eating, drinking, being social and having a blast! Gina was fun and she was gracious. She complimented me several times on how lovely the house looked, the food, the desserts, etc. She was so kind and warm to Shireen and my mother-in-law, which I appreciated immensely. I always love when my friends genuinely connect with my family.”
Addressing the end of the evening and Shane’s tantrum, Emily begins, “As the party wound down later in the evening, all of the ladies had left except for Gina. Props to her, she was the last lady standing! She mentions that she never wants to leave, which is a compliment to me and my party-hosting skills! However, as she was about to leave my home, she was positioned right below the loft area, where Shane, my daughter Annabelle, and my step-daughter Chanel were sitting waiting for the noise to die down so they could get to bed. Shane had returned home with the children right before everyone was leaving, as the party ran later than expected,” adding, “Gina continued to be loud and boisterous (she was having a great time!) however, and unfortunately she used a lot of foul language (she was joking around and having fun…it was not malicious by any means) and it just echoed straight up to the loft area where my children were.”
Emily continues, “Shane became upset because he did not want the children exposed to that language and he yelled down from the loft area for me ‘to get her out of the house.’ Shane has always been an amazing and very protective father, and I think his parental instincts kicked in hard. So I walked Gina outside and apologized for her quick exit, and she apologized for being loud stating to me that she had young children, so she understood. Shane then explained to me later that prior to yelling down for her to get out of the house, he had asked three times before for us to be quiet and for her to watch her language because my children had returned home and were upstairs. Unfortunately, due to the commotion of the party, no one had heard his requests, and I believe by the time Gina was positioned right under the loft and the F bombs reverberated their way straight up to where the children were, he became understandably frustrated.”
Emily Simpson calls out Vicki Gunvalson
Playing mediator, Emily concludes, “I totally understand why Gina may feel insulted by what occurred. She had no malicious intent and came to an adult party to have fun and let loose… which she did! I provided alcohol and food and fun, and she partook in it all, as she should! However, at the same time I understand why Shane asked her to keep it down and then felt the need to yell down for her to leave. Lesson learned: No more parties on a school night!”
And maybe no more air time for Shane?
Tonight is an all new episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. “The ladies are surprised to learn how the poker night ended, leaving Gina and Emily at odds. Vicki travels to LA to record radio commercials for Coto Financial and ends up embarrassing her son Michael in the process. Shannon gets emotional as she goes to court as part of her divorce. Her good friend Tamra surprises Shannon with the gift of a matchmaker, while Kelly dates the “milkman.” After Emily leaves a happy hour early, the other women start to speculate about her marriage.”

Big Brother 20 Spoilers: Week 8 Power of Veto Ceremony Results (08/20/18)
Scottie Salton is having a no good, very bad, terrible Big Brother 20 week. It started when he was the only player to vote against Kaycee Clark at last week’s eviction. Next, someone he thought was an ally, Brett Robinson, claimed his vote to protect himself. Then one of his allies, Faysal Shafaat, won Head of Household and nominated him for eviction.
The week continued to go from bad to worse when Brett won the Power of Veto. Then Scottie got too emotional and plotted against his one true ally, Haleigh Broucher. He pitched to get Haleigh on the block next to him, which ruined any trust they had, and any potential he had to stay in the game. Now Scottie’s bad week will continue at this Power of Veto ceremony.
Scottie tried to rectify the situation by switching his pitch from Haleigh to Sam Bledsoe. Scottie got through to Faysal a little, but not enough to change his mind. Faysal plans to nominate Kaycee instead of Sam, which will ensure Scottie’s eviction. Kaycee is a member of Level 6, so she automatically has Brett, Angela Rummans, and Tyler Crispen’s votes. She needs three to tie, four to be saved.
Kaycee also probably has JC Mounduix, Sam, and now Haleigh’s votes. This may be the only unanimous vote of the season, but we suspect that JC will throw another hinky vote to blame it on Haleigh.

Ashley Darby Opens Up About Her Miscarriage & The Pizza Prank On Karen Huger
Even Ashley Darby’s frienemies couldn’t help tearing up when she revealed that she went through a miscarriage during the second episode of the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 3 reunion. No one saw that coming and every single person on that stage (and plenty of people watching at home) felt for Ashley and her husband Michael Darby.
Watching the other episodes of Season 3, it seemed like Ashley and Michael were growing apart, but they really did seem like a united couple when they discussed the miscarriage during the reunion episode.
Ashley reflected on Part 2 of the reunion in a Bravo blog post. Before getting to the miscarriage revelation, she discussed the pizza prank that she, Robyn Dixon, and Gizelle Bryant pulled on Karen Huger. During the reunion, Karen said that there was nothing good about the pizza prank and honestly that makes sense. They were trying to expose her on a popular reality TV show. Yeah, it was hilarious to see them in their ridiculous outfits, but it does make sense that Karen would be offended.
Ashley admitted, “I understand that Karen always wants to feel attacked, but this a pizza delivery was all in fun. Never did we intend to hurt or bring harm to Karen, as we were expecting her to open the door and laugh at us dressed in our ridiculous costumes. If we were actually trying to do harm, believe me, we would not have done something as funny and lighthearted as delivering a pizza. I wish she would lighten up about it.” Karen should lighten up a bit for sure, but was the prank completely in good fun? It doesn’t seem like it was purely a lighthearted joke.
Then the blog took a more serious turn. Ashley revealed, “I decided to share about our miscarriage because I wanted my fellow Housewives to understand that the advice they gave Michael and I really helped us. Gizelle Bryant had given me great advice in the past about working on a marriage and really evaluating whether or not a love is worth fighting for. I took that to heart and we didn’t give up.”
Ashley Darby Discusses The Possibility Of Children With Husband Michael Darby
Ashley wrote, “When Michael and I decided to start a family, it was a very pivotal moment for us. We have shared both our ups and our downs with everyone, as we want everyone to know that absolutely no one is perfect.”
She confessed, “When I had the tragic miscarriage, Michael was very upset and I think he realized that he wanted to have a baby more than he originally thought. That was a very special moment for me because now I know that we are really making the right choice to have a family together. Michael is a wonderful man who loves deeply and passionately, and I am incredibly proud of him for being open about his emotions. It not always easy for a man of his status, but Michael is open to growing and learning. What more could I ask for?”

LeeAnne Locken Says D’Andra Simmons Is “Downright Hurtful” & She Has An “Utter Lack Of Intelligence”
Even though we are only one episode in with Season 3 of Real Housewives of Dallas, it is already very clear what we can expect. D’Andra Simmons joined the cast as LeeAnne Locken’s best friend, but it’s clear that there is some tension brewing. D’Andra was not buying into LeeAnne’s amygdala talk during that meditation session.
Not only that, but D’Andra decided to ambush LeeAnne and Rich Emberlin to get married during her own anniversary party. It’s clear that these two just aren’t on the same page like they used to be. There was foreshadowing in that first episode, they aren’t liking each other’s posts on Instagram these days (yes, I checked), and they were screaming in each other’s faces during the Season 3 trailer.
Aside from all of that, LeeAnne is throwing shade at D’Andra in a Bravo blog post. The scenes on the show were filmed months ago, but this blog entry is fresh. LeeAnne is either very good at writing these blogs in the same frame of mind that she was in during filming, or there is still a lot of tension between the (former?) friends. You be the judge.
Real Housewives Of Dallas’ Brandi Redmond Takes Great Offense To D’Andra Simmons’ Adderall Accusations
LeeAnne came out swinging: “I have to say, watching someone who calls herself my ‘best friend’ laugh like a wicked witch at my attempts to better myself is not very funny. In fact, it’s downright hurtful. Let me first correct you – I have ALWAYS taken responsibility for my actions THAT IS WHY WE WERE AT THE YOGA CENTER!” D’Andra practically rolled her eyes out loud while LeeAnne talked about the residual effects of her tough childhood.
LeeAnne wrote, “Now as for you making the disgusting statement ‘that’s not your amygdala, it’s you’, well that just shows you her utter lack of intelligence! She claims to be a ‘voracious’ reader… Maybe she should Google a bit before she opens her big mouth!” It’s one thing to be upset about D’Andra’s lack of interest during that meditation session, but saying that she has an “utter lack of intelligence” does not indicate that she and D’Andra on good terms these days. At all.
LeeAnne also addressed D’Andra’s surprise wedding stunt: “Let me be clear….. NOTHING is stalling my wedding and just because you say it doesn’t make it so. We are CHOOSING to take our time and enjoy the journey towards a forever life together.”
She also used this an opportunity to shade D’Andra’s personal life: “Why is D’Andra spending so much time worrying about my relationship? Could it be because she doesn’t want to face what’s going on in her own relationships? I wonder…” The gloves are off.
While things are not going well with D’Andra, it seems like there is some hope for LeeAnne and Cary Deuber to finally be on good terms. Real Housewives of Potomac Reunion Recap: Delusionistas And The Men Who Love Them
The winner of tonight’s reunion of The Real Housewives of Potomac was a guy named Chris. You can choose which one, Big C or Little C, but both came out of this gathering unscathed which is not an easy thing to do. However, those with the last name of Huger or Darby did not get off so easy. We start back where we ended last week with Karen Huger falling apart backstage and Gizelle Bryant doing her best to comfort her. We saw this already, so let’s jump in when Gizelle gets back to the couch.
Gizelle tells the group that Karen feels alone because of her parents dying so recently and so close together. Gizelle feels terrible and gets teary just thinking about what Karen must be going through. Once composed, Karen returns and tells the group she doesn’t want any sympathy. Robyn Dixon speaks for everyone when she says that Karen deserves it, and Ashley Darby says to Karen that she’s sorry for her loss. Karen accepts their condolences with grace and it’s time to move on to something a little more fun.
We take a look at Karen and Gizelle’s roller coaster friendship. Andy shows us all the fights, but come on! Can’t we take a look at them together at bubble ball and painting Robyn’s new condo? That was fun stuff and if there is a season 4 can we all sign a petition asking for more of that and less of the “LIAR!” accusations? Karen says she wants to keep the friendship and it looks like Gizelle is on board, so yay! One broken friendship repaired, about twenty left to go. How about Gizelle and Monique Samuels? That is a hard pass for both. Well, Candiace Dillard? Can you at least give Gizelle a wedding invite? At $500 a plate Candiace has decided that Gizelle can stay home.
Charrisse Jackson Jordan joins the right side of the couch, so I guess we know where her loyalty stands. Her hair is short and sassy and her house is on the market. Everything’s on sale y’all! Seriously, am I the only one that immediately wondered if the Champagne Room was turned back into a den? And if the housewives hold Champagne flutes in their hands during opening credits, why isn’t the lady with the actual ROOM for Champagne still holding a flute? These are the questions keeping me up at night.
Andy moves us on to Gizelle and Sherman. Yep! The 2F is back and just to remind everyone, the reason his marriage to Kyndall broke up was, to quote Monique, he was “Creepin’ in the park after dark.” If there’s one thing that Monique regrets, it’s using that line three times. Andy asks Gizelle what happened between them, and it was the People Magazine and the general lack of communication that did them in (not to mention the overall ghosting). Gizelle maintains he was looking for a ring and Cha-Cha jabs that Gizelle showed shades of Katie Rost, Season 1. Ouch! However, G doesn’t know if she really wants to get married and Karen tells her that her life is full on her own.( Sidebar: I see a new alliance between Karen and Gizelle developing if there is a season 4.) Aaaanyway, she and 2F talk lots and next week they are going to couple’s counseling. Okay, my opinion means nada to Gizelle, but someone with her looks and her funds can do a whole lot better than a guy that ghosts. I know he’s rich, but coins don’t keep you warm at night. Just sayin…
Andy wants to know why Gizelle is mad at Monique and not Karen for bringing around Kyndall. The reason is that Mo planned it. Monique objects. It was in fact Charrisse’s idea to bring on Kyndall. Cha yells, “Liar!” and then goes on to admit that she wanted Kyndall on season 1 and 2. Then at the beginning of season 3 she wanted Kyndall on the show to mess with Gizelle. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what you might call a confession. However, Cha says she has nothing to do with Kyndall. Mo counters that’s a lie. In fact, at Gizelle’s birthday party, Cha said it’s time for Kyndall to make a cameo. Cha again yells “Liar!”. Gizelle still thinks it was Monique just to get under her skin, but Monique responds that she just needs to wake up still breathing to rattle Gizelle. Andy asks about Monique sucking up all Charrisse’s contacts, but this fight is 2 months in and I still don’t get it or care to get it so let’s just say that Cha’s still upset. Whatever!! Their friendship is over.
The husbands join the stage and it looks a little lopsided with the left hand full of men and Michael covering all three on the right. The question I know Andy has been dying to ask for months: Does Little Chris have a brown dick? Chris tells Gizelle to get out her Hue Beauty card to find the hue. He’s still not talked to his oldest son, but he has sent cards and letters so they know his address and he’s hopeful.
Next is Big Chris and he relates that Monique’s miscarriage was hard. Someone on social media said that Monique lost her baby because she was an alcoholic, so that was really tough to read. Chris is sorry about the disintegration of Mo and Cha’s friendship because he really liked Cha, but he knows they are definitely done.
We move on to Ray and Bravo has a low highlight reel showing the Huger craziness from the entire season. Ray starts laughing and tells Andy laughing is keeping him from crying. Ray kept the tax thing from Karen because he didn’t think it would affect his personal finances. He is paying his tax bill, but he won’t tell us how much the total bill is. Hey! We finally get the answer we’ve all been waiting for: Why didn’t Karen know about the pizza delivery? The landscaper found it and thought his workers had left it after eating some. He chewed their butts for it, so thanks Ashley, Gizelle, and Robyn. Your pranks got some totally innocent yard workers’ asses chewed! I hope y’all are happy. Okaaaayyyy… you heard it yourself. Mystery solved! Discuss….
Karen did appreciate that Robyn said she could see her purse on the counter. Gizelle thinks Karen lives in just part of the Great Falls house. Ray bursts out laughing. The secret is out! Ray keeps Karen in the basement. All the mysteries are being solved tonight! Bottom line: does Ray live with Karen in the Great Falls Mansion? Answer from Ray: Absolutely! Michael Darby shakes his head. He then gives us a 5 minute diatribe but there’s so much over talk who knows what he actually said? Ray says he’ll give an answer if Michael has a question, but Michael doesn’t really want an explanation. I’m confused. So I guess it was a prepared speech and something Michael felt the need to get off his chest. Because Ray’s address means… what exactly does it mean to Michael? Did I nod off and not catch that part?
Ray reminds Michael that he also has business issues as well which we can go into (Yes please!). Karen tries to explain to Ashley the reason for their differences, but since Micheal is even older than Karen he takes offense. He also demands an apology from Karen for insinuating he posted naked pictures on Grinder and he has the passport to prove it wasn’t him. He has a snowball’s chance in hell of getting Karen to apologize. Nice try though. Maybe it’s because the Darbys accused Karen of having an affair with Blue Eyes. Karen sent them a Cease and Desist order so they can’t talk about it but Ashley absolutely talks about it. This was from her accusations on Watch What Happens Live. Ray had a PI follow Blue Eyes (not Michael??? Boo!!). Ray says everything regarding Blue is on the up and up.
We move on to Michael and Ashley having problems in their marriage, with her mom, and whether or not they should have a baby. Good news! The Darby clan is doing much better; even the deadbeat boyfriend is employed. Sadly, Ashley suffered a miscarriage after filming and right before her 30th birthday. Monique can really relate, so this is the thing that gets them back on an even keel. Ashley and Michael are trying again, so maybe the Samuels aren’t the only ones that will be hearing the pitter patter of little feet this time next year. Ashley’s video is shown and I have to say I dug it.
So what did the ladies learn this year? Monique says it’s to mind her own business. That’s good advice, except as Robyn correctly points out, you can’t be on this show minding your own business. Candiace is appreciative of the friendships she’s made. Ashley’s learned to be open, forgive, and she hopes she can move on to a better place with Karen. Robyn knows she needs to step back and realize not everyone does things how she thinks they should and that’s okay. Gizelle says that hard work pays off and don’t bring your man on to the show. Karen knows that life is short and we all need to keep our family close and our friends just as close. It is after all what really matters.
After all the laughing and fighting, they toast to each other and to the town of Potomac, Maryland. And guess what! Gizelle got her wedding invite from Candiace! Finally, I’d like to take a moment to thank each of you who read some or all of these recaps. I had a blast writing them! Take up your flute. Cheers! Here’s to you!

Big Brother 20 Spoilers: Live Feeds Day 61 Highlights: Scottie Pitches to Target Sam
On Saturday, Sam Bledsoe, Brett Robinson, and Scottie Salton discussed trying to get Faysal Shafaat to target Haleigh Broucher this week instead of Scottie. Brett knew this was a bad idea. However, Sam was convinced that it would work because her influence over Faysal was so strong, and Scottie just wanted some revenge.
Sunday kicked off with Scottie and Sam making these pitches to Faysal. Scottie compared Haleigh to Kaitlyn Herman, and said that she was playing them like Kaitlyn played Faysal and Tyler Crispen. Sam threw in some extra incentive to get Faysal to nominate Haleigh: She would stop smoking if he did it.
Despite her best efforts, Faysal didn’t agree to nominate Haleigh. After his pitch, Scottie goes around discussing his plan with Level 6. He gloats about how he plans to give a crazy speech to throw Haleigh under the bus. Level 6 isn’t on board with it as much as he thought. Angela Rummans actually changes her tune, and she starts to say that Haleigh always had Scottie’s best interest at heart.
Angela tells him this because she’s worried that Scottie’s speech might put a target back on Tyler or herself. Once Faysal and Haleigh get alone time, Faysal tells Haleigh about Scottie’s pitch to him. She then goes to be alone and cry, but Tyler, Kaycee Clark, and Angela happen to see her crying, so they comfort her.
Later, Faysal, Angela, Haleigh, and Tyler all discuss their new deal to make it to the top four, and then go after each other. Faysal also talks with Kaycee about making her the pawn. The reason he picked her instead of Sam is because Sam is too much of a wildcard. Putting her on the block risks Scottie staying. He believes that if Scottie stays in the house, he’s coming right after Faysal.
Later, a sad Scottie admits to Haleigh that he was pitching to get her on the block. However, he claims he just did it to make it look like they were enemies now. He said he’s just confused and hurt. Scottie then returned to Faysal’s HOH room to make a new pitch to get out Sam. He said that Sam is the shady one and trying to turn him against Haleigh. After that conversation, Faysal admits that the conversations with Scottie made him consider putting up Sam.
But Faysal said it also proved that Scottie is too good at influencing people, so he needs to go. Kaycee was the only way to ensure Scottie’s eviction because she has two guaranteed votes (Angela and Tyler). She only needs one more for a tie and two more for an eviction.
Going into today’s Big Brother 20 Power of Veto ceremony, Brett plans to use the Power of Veto on himself. Then he will name Kaycee as the replacement, basically sealing Scottie’s game fate.

90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap: Blindsided
At a time when many of us can’t seem to agree on a lot, we can all come together to shake our heads and laugh our booties off at the good folk of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days. Last night, six couples continued their journeys – some abroad, and some right here at home, perched awkwardly on the trunk of a tree. As one does.
Before we get to that particular Connecticut/Amsterdam disaster, we catch up with Ricky first, who is still waiting for “Melissa” and for fanny packs to come back in style. He sits at the restaurant, two hours past their appointed meeting time, convincing himself that “Melissa” just needed some extra time to straighten out her hair/outfit/cover story.
Finally, Melissa throws Ricky a crumb by texting a picture of a taxi – with no human faces in sight – to ensure she’s on her way. And now the moment of truth arrives: “I’m here,” she writes next. And wouldn’t you know it – SHE’S REAL! And she looks like her photos! What the hell is happening?!?!? Oh, you tricky tee-vee producers. You strung us along this catfishing line and it worked, at least on me. I’ll admit it.
Ricky is relieved, we are stunned, and Melissa (whose name will now officially come out of the quotation marks of shame) looks more than a bit freaked out. “Feels like a dream!” cheers Ricky, Shallow Hal that he is, even forgiving the fact that Melissa is sporting a mouth full of braces.
Melissa giggles through some small talk with Ricky, accepting his depressing, wilted roses with a smirk while enjoying his attempt at jokes in broken Spanish. At least Ricky is giving it the ole’ college try, unlike Paul whose opener is “Will you please accept this STD test?”
“I think, honestly, my charm has won her over,” boasts Ricky, sure that this absolute stranger he’s never spoken to before is already in love with him.
Now that Jon has wiped the vomit from his mouth by French-kissing his future bride, he and Rachel make their way home with baby Lucy in tow. Rachel is living her dream. “That accent is killer!” coos Rachel, not concerning herself with this man actually being a potential killer. Jon seems freaked out by the presence of a baby and real, live girlfriend. That karaoke app did not prepare him for this. Also, Jon seems more than a bit confused about…well, everything. Okay, fine, I’ll say it: He’s got the crazy eyes. And, guys, he NEVER blinks. (Right?!?)
In the car, Rachel wishes she could sleep before meeting Jon’s mother. Lucy is also fussy after her long flight and car ride, and this family (or perhaps only Jon) has no idea how much an 8-month old is going to change their lives. “It’s a little bit mental,” admits Jon’s mom of his plan to bring a strange woman and child into their home. She just hopes Jon isn’t as “fickle” about Rachel as he’s been about many women in the past. Uh-oh.
At least Rachel is delighted by the baby room Jon has prepared for Lucy, and how much chemistry she claims they already have with each other. Jon is obviously overwhelmed, so Rachel decides to pile on more by forcing him to feed and burp Lucy immediately. Um, what the hell? Jon gives it his best shot, although his stress is admittedly through the roof.
No cup of tea in the world is going to fix this mess, but Jon’s mom makes him one anyway. “It’s been mad!” says Jon when mom asks him how he’s feeling with Rachel and Lucy here. He’s not ready for all of this, and it’s only been a few hours. Oh, Jonny Boy. What have you done?
After he wrestles with putting final touches on the crib, Jon comes to bed with Rachel. She’s insecure about her postpartum body but feels chemistry with Jon immediately. He thinks it will take time to build, mainly thinking, “My mum’s down there!” as Rachel looks longingly into his unblinking, petrified eyes. Ultimately, Jon evades her come hither stare by springing up to check on Lucy, who distracts them long enough to stall any chance at intimacy…for now.
At the airport in Nigeria, Angela miraculously finds the exit, sees Michael, throws down her bags, and races toward him at full speed in a “Be Your Selfie” t-shirt. But wait! This ain’t the Angela he’s seen in photos! Michael’s face stays calm as he registers what’s happening, but his body language screams S-O-S. #AbortMission
Okay, he actually recovers quite quickly and throws his arms right around Angela, even though he literally wipes his mouth with a handkerchief after she kisses him. So, maybe we like this guy after all? He seems like a good guy, and let’s be real – his friends are the true MVPs of this story. Even though Michael admits Angela looks older than her photos indicated, he’s still happy to meet his meal ticket. He’s not thrilled to learn how horny Angela is, however, as she makes it known within the first five minutes that she wants to jump his bones.
Michael’s fright continues to reach new heights as he drives home with Angela. She’s loud, she’s handsy, and she doesn’t even know what continent she’s on. “I don’t know the rules,” admits Angela, who doesn’t seem like she comes from big rule-following stock back home. At least Angela won’t have to follow any rules her first night, as Michael takes her to a hotel room instead of his very-Christian mother’s home.
“She’s overwhelming,” sighs Michael as Angela tries to grab his junk in the hallway. OHMYGAWD. At least he’s thrilled with his MAGA hat, t-shirt, and Trump bobblehead, which will go nicely next to his shrine back home. “I should be able to cope with Angela for the next couple of weeks,” Michael tells the cameras with eyes that beg for rescue. “I mean, I should be…”
(Cut to Angela body-slamming him on to the mattress, where he’s going to be fighting the good fight allllllllll night long.)
“You’re a beast, Michael!” shouts Angela the next morning as she enjoys a post-coital snuggle with her Nigerian prince. “Last night was AWESOME!” she squeals before leaving to meet Michael’s mother for the first time. In the car, Michael instructs Angela not to lay the makeup on too thick – he wants her to take her face and “make it younger” for the village. LOL!
Once they arrive, Angela is immediately freaked out by everyone staring at her, but it’s Michael’s mom who should really be nervous. Because, ya’ll, she is about to get full-on Angela’d (next week).
In Brazil, Paul sits by a coconut and ponders his life. Basically, it’s a mess. Karine thinks Paul’s fears about her being unfaithful are ridiculous, though. But because he holds all of the power in this relationship, she’ll end up taking a pregnancy test anyway. And lookie here! Paul’s already picked one up for her, shoving it right in her face as soon as he returns to the hotel. Who says chivalry is dead?
After the test is complete, Karine comes out with the proof: It’s negative, OF COURSE. Because Paul and Karine still don’t speak the same damn language, this news takes about 60 seconds too long to deliver. So, yeah, Paul’s a paranoid nutcase – we’re positive about that. He excuses his paranoia as a result of his former girlfriend becoming pregnant with another man’s child, to which I have to say, Have you met Sir Jon of the Crazy Eyes, yet? Because that dude does NOT care from whence babies cometh.
It’s time for Paul to face his own mistakes now, though, and he’ll have to do it in front of Karine’s parents. They meet up to review Paul’s criminal past – blessedly with the help of a translator this time, so no finger-in-the-hole movements will derail the convo. As Karine’s cop-father reviews Paul’s paperwork, he learns about the arson charge and restraining order. Paul reminds everyone that these charges were “way, way, way back” and that he regrets his actions.
After explaining some details surrounding his restraining order (which did not involve violence), Paul is relieved to learn that Karine’s parents seem to accept him. They think he’s basically a good – if not VERY creepy – dude. “He never put his hands on me,” adds Karine…which is apparently a ringing endorsement? So, sure! They’ll allow him to marry their daughter. “Paul isn’t perfect,” says Karine, “but I love him.”
Oh, humanity! Why are these two still trying to make DarJess happen? IT’S NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. Despite their obvious dysfunction, Darcey and Jesse head out to a park to talk about their “unbreakable” connection and celebrate their “union as one.” For real, these are the words coming out of Darcey’s mouth. After they kiss on the bridge and play nice for ten minutes, it’s time to discuss real sh*t.
Darcey worries about Jesse meeting her daughters, especially because Jesse is such a douche they argue all of the time. Jesse pinky-promises he won’t verbally abuse Darcey in front of her children, but he’s not ready to be a stepfather of teenagers. He’s only 24 after all.
–Quick pause in the recap to note that my third grader just ran through the room and screamed, “IS THAT THE BAD GUY FROM X-MEN?!?!?” upon catching a glimpse of Jesse. I did not correct her.–
It’s the morning of Darcey’s birthday, and she’s turning 43 (again?). She’s ready for marriage and a step-baby-daddy in her life, but Jesse isn’t even ready for a big boy haircut. Still, they insist on meeting Darcey’s daughters, who arrive in NYC from Connecticut for the awkward moment. At the very least, these tweens can get styling tips from Uncle Jesse, who is closer to their age than their mom’s.
On a boat ride later, Darcey’s daughters make small talk about Amsterdam and NYC versus CT, which is where Jesse will be hauled off to next. The girls obviously don’t see this fancy man as their new stepfather, but they play along and take smiling selfies with him anyway. But when Darcey obnoxiously screams “Family hug!” at the end of the ride, Jesse visibly flinches. (Or maybe that’s just the sunlight touching his skin? IDK how vampires work.)
As Tarik makes his way to the Philippines, he bounces around to five connecting flights. Which begs the question: Did Tarik score this flight on Kayak.com for thirty-five freaking dollars? Why the nightmare schedule?!? Hazel has been acting strange lately via text, which she chalks up to being “shy.” Tarik hopes there aren’t shadier reasons afoot.
In Manila, Hazel tells us about her intentions. She’s poor, works ten hours a day for very little money, and has been looking for an American man to save her. Tarik “has a big house and a good job,” so he fits the bill. Hazel also has a 6-year old son who lives with his father. It’s unclear whether her son would come to the U.S. with her, but sadly, it seems like no. (Why?)
As she gets ready with her friend, Hazel gets a text that Tarik’s flight has been delayed in Bangkok. This worries her because Tarik’s ex-girlfriend is in Thailand, and she wonders if he’s really serious about coming to the Philippines after all. But all is well in the end, because after TWO DAYS of traveling, Tarik finally touches down in Manila. And yay! With friends and family in tow, Hazel is there to meet him. Tarik and Hazel hug, followed by Tarik immediately celebrating the fact that Hazel is even more gorgeous than her photos. “I have never seen anyone this beautiful in my life!” cheers Tarik as Hazel just awkwardly stands there staring at her hands.
When producers ask Hazel if she’s attracted to Tarik, Hazel just evades. “Ummm, it’s different than online…but I’m happy he’s here because…um, it’s good for my future.” Well, folks, that about sums it up! Welcome to the calmer, maybe-gentler Anfisa 2.0. (Yo, Tarik: You better call Ramon.)
In the car on the way to a condo Tarik has rented for his stay in Manila, he laments the fact that Hazel hasn’t kissed him yet. Here he is already making her his daughter’s new stepmother (groan) and Hazel isn’t even sure if Tarik is trustworthy. She finally asks if he saw his ex in Bangkok? “No way!” he defends, hoping Hazel will learn to trust him – or at least look directly at him.
Hazel may not be in love with Tarik, but she is in love with this new condo – except it only has one bed! Once a pillow wall is assembled between them, Hazel finally agrees to sleep there. Next to Tarik and his hospital scrubs. “We are not cyber people anymore,” says Tarik, demanding that Hazel at least kiss him before bed. She makes it clear that NO SEXYTIMES will be had in this here bed (at least not yet) even though Tarik is being as creepy as possible in his advances. They say goodnight, and I guess we’ll have to wait until next week to see how the pillow barrier fared – or failed.
