A First For Kate Chastain On Tonight’s Below Deck

Vanderpump Rules Star Stassi Schroeder Confirms She Is “Taking A Break” From Her Friendship With Kristen Doute

Peace and harmony amongst the Vanderpump Rules Witches of WeHo trio of Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney was bound to end at some point. We’ve seen the three at odds many times before. For instance, when Kristen admitted to sleeping with Stassi’s ex-boyfriend, Jax Taylor. Or when Stassi treated Katie and Kristen like crap, moved to New York to be with Patrick Meagher, and then came groveling back when she couldn’t make it on her own. 

However, the trio was in a good place last season. The only hitch happened to be Kristen’s deadbeat boyfriend Brian Carter. Stassi and Katie made it loud and clear they felt Brian was taking advantage of Kristen, but Kristen wasn’t having it. Still, everything seemed fine between them. Until the past several months, that is. 

Stassi’s mom, Dayna Schroeder, first spilled the beans on social media that all wasn’t well between Stassi and Kristen when she shared that Kristen wasn’t at Stassi’s engagement party. Both Katie and Stassi were noticeably absent from Kristen’s James Mae pop up event. And Kristen wasn’t there when Stassi went wedding dress shopping.

The Pump Rules cast has been pretty mum about the situation and gave no confirmation the girls are on the outs. Well, now we have it, straight from the self-proclaimed devil herself.

E! News reported that Stassi confirmed on her podcast, Straight Up With Stassi, that she and Kristen are having issues. What took so long lady? Stassi said, “I’ve sat there, and I’m like, ‘Am I gonna look like the a–hole in this situation or is she?’ I have no idea.”

I’d say it’s a safe bet that both of them will look like assholes. Stassi continued, “I’m prepared to look like the a–hole. But whatever it is, I’m like, listen I have to take care of my mental and emotional health first.”

What the heck happened between the two of them? It must be pretty bad if Stassi had to consider her mental and emotional health. Either way, we still don’t know what the exact issue was between them. 

But, Stassi did finally confirm she and Kristen are officially on the outs. She said, “And if taking a break from someone is a bitch move and makes me nasty, then, I don’t give a f—k.”

Married To Medicine Recap: Girl Code, Interrupted

Last night’s episode of Married to Medicine was basically more drama with this group. I have never seen friends take one step forward only to take three steps backward.  I don’t think this group will ever truly get along with one another unless you split them in two groups. But one can hope they mature one day.

The ladies head to Savannah for a girls’ trip. Heavenly Kimes takes out her frustration on Toya Bush-Harris. Mariah Huq goes after the group for perpetuating lies against her. Jackie Walters attempts to save a disastrous trip. Let’s get straight into the drama!

Well, well, well… Heavenly finally has her feet held to the fire. Damon Kimes admits he knows everything that happened at Toya’s paint and sip party. Heavenly claims she felt it was in poor taste that naked men were there. That’s not what it looked like when she was being lifted in the air by one of the models. But she didn’t tell her husband because she “didn’t have the time.” LOL, Oh Heavenly!  In an on-camera interview, Damon admits he didn’t like that someone picked up his wife, but is done talking about it.

On the girl’s trip, Jackie wants to help the women to mend their friendships. After all the ladies arrive, they congratulate Toya for closing on her 2nd house. Heavenly has to add that owning a home isn’t an accomplishment. To add insult to injury, she mentions hers is almost paid off.  Never the one to let shade slide, Toya states that Heavenly’s house is only worth $50,000, so it should be paid off. Heavenly claims she makes three times what Toya does. Well, so much for having a healing girl’s trip.

When the women arrive to the house, they learn it has a spooky history. Jackie assigns the bedrooms in pairs of people they actually like. I guess she didn’t want anyone to kill each other at the beginning of the trip. When the ladies have dinner, Contessa Metcalfe gets a text message from her husband, Scott Metcalfe, saying he’s going out of town to celebrate one of his friend’s birthday. She is resentful that she gave up school and he isn’t making sacrifices. The women encourage Contessa not to be passive-aggressive and just to tell him how she truly feels.

 Jackie tells the women she wants them to work on their relationships with one another. Mariah isn’t convinced since Jackie has tried this many times and failed. Quad thinks a reset will be good for everyone. That is funny since everyone knows Quad holds a grudge like no one else. Jackie has everyone discuss girl codes the group should follow. She asks everyone to write one down. Mariah’s code is not telling lies on each other. We all know that is a nod to Jackie who repeated a rumor Quad Webb-Lunceford created.

Heavenly then says Simone Whitmore lied on her. She feels she never said anything about Cecil Whitmore that Simone didn’t say herself. Mariah jumps on the bandwagon and brings up Jackie restating Quad’s accusations about drug use. Jackie agrees and suggests they all fact check before they say something.

Buffie Purselle cries about her lack of friendships with women. She finds it hard to have female friends because she is successful and they ask her for money all the time. At times, she feels like sometimes she can’t tell people when she is “killing” it. Simone’s code is that the husbands should be off-limits. Mariah is irritated when Quad says she wants everyone to be accountable for their actions. Mariah feels like Quad is being allowed to defame her character.

Toya stays behind to talk to Quad after dinner. She tells her Mariah is really hurt by the drug accusations. She went with Mariah to get a drug test and it came back negative. The test went back as far as between 5 to 10 years. Quad claims the test was inconclusive. Toya just wants to be cordial with Mariah. Quad says the best she can do is to keep things the way things currently are between them. Geez, this woman can never let anything go.

Just when you thought the drama was over, Mariah points out that no one is calling out Quad for slandering her. Quad of course gets angry. Heavenly believes the accusations are true. She reminds everyone of the accusations Mariah made about her husband cheating last season. Contessa is fed up of the arguing and walks off the bus once they get to the house. She is clearly over the Mariah and Quad drama.

Toya tells Heavenly to stay out of it. Heavenly tells Toya to get out of her face. Toya then calls Heavenly “loud” and “ghetto.” Heavenly says “yo momma” in response. Toya says her mother is ghetto and she will whoop Heavenly’s a$$. Maybe Toya needs to fly her mother out because someone needs to take Heavenly down a few notches.

When everyone gets off the bus, Heavenly is still arguing with Mariah about what was said in the past about Damon. Mariah and Quad go toe to toe as well. Mariah calls Aydin Huq when she returns to her room. Toya comforts her as she cries. They then go on a walk and pray together.

After this trip, I’m sure Buffie would gladly hand out money, before having constant drama with a circle of friends. Jackie’s bright idea to bring everyone together was a complete fail, it only seemed to get them to go back in history. I don’t ever think all of the Married to Medicine ladies will ever get along.

Mila Kunis Shares Ashton Kutcher’s Reaction To Her Desire To Be On Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ season ended a few months ago. Of course, the big news at the end of the season was that Queen Lisa Vanderpump had abandoned ship. Since then, an announcement came out that a few new cast members have been added–actress Garcelle Beauvais and party planner Sutton Stracke.

Garcelle says she is up to the challenge of her new role. Sutton believes that “it is an honor to be on the show.”  You have to wonder, what does it take to actually become a Housewife? How is the final decision of who will be cast made? Recently, one big-name Hollywood celebrity dished on the possibility of becoming a Housewife someday.

E News! reports that actress Mila Kunis was on an episode of Andrea Savage’s podcast, A Grown-Up Woman, and mused about becoming a lady of Beverly. She admitted, “I’m a big Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fan. I did ask my husband [Ashton Kutcher] once: ‘Listen, later in like 20, 30 years, what do you think of me going on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Just for like a year. He goes, ‘I would kill you.'”

Ashton probably doesn’t have much to be worried about as the likelihood of Mila joining the show is slim, unless her career freefalls into an abyss. But who knew Mila was such a big RHOBH fan? She is not alone among stars who love the Housewives. Chrissy Teigen has long professed her adoration for the Housewife shows, as have Kristin Chenowith and many others.

Mila also played a version of the game “Marry, Shag, Kill” RHOBH-style while on the podcast. The podcast’s version was “Make Love, Marry, Murder.” Before she played, Mila said, “I don’t want to offend anybody. They all seem very lovely.” Very diplomatic. But it does make you question if Mila has watched the last few seasons of the show! Lovely is not the first word that comes to mind for some of the ladies and their behavior.

For the House Husbands, Mila stated she would “marry Mauricio [Umansky], sleep with Harry [Hamlin] and murder PK [Kemsley].” She might have to stand behind the line of creditors for her wish to eliminate PK!

And what of the ladies of Beverly? Mila joked, “I would murder Dorit Kemsley. She seems very high maintenance and she would be very expensive to get married to. We’re on a budget.” OK–it is obvious Mila must watch the show–she knows Dorit very well! It is clear that the Kemsleys would fall off of Mila’s Housewife guest list pretty quickly.

Mila went on to share, “I would marry Kyle Richards and then I would have fun with Lisa Rinna. I feel like Lisa Rinna is a little more feisty. She would be really fun for a night.”

Below Deck Star Captain Lee Rosbach Hopes That Sharing His Late Son’s Story Of Addiction Will Help Other Families

Captain Lee Rosbach has become an integral part of the Below Deck series.  He is the embodiment of a tough boss.  Captain Lee has high expectations and leaves little room for error or coddling of his crew.  He is respectful but tough on his team, and we’ve only seen him emotional when Ashton Pienaar narrowly avoided certain death last season.

Maybe it’s easy to forget that Captain Lee is also a family man who has vulnerabilities and tragedies as well.  In July, Captain Lee shared the heartbreaking news that his son Josh, 42, passed away from a drug overdose.  At the time, Captain Lee posted a moving statement on behalf of himself and wife Mary Anne.  It was poignant message of love for their son.  Now, nearly three months later, Captain Lee is ready to share Josh’s story.

In an interview with Page Six, Captain Lee revealed details about Josh descent into addiction and how he has been coping since Josh’s passing.  “Josh was a normal teenager up to a point. We moved a couple of different times. Those moves weren’t easy on Josh. I think he had some [obsessive-compulsive disorder] problems,” Captain Lee said, “he was very anxious. And I think that maybe contributed to him finding something to self-medicate with, because he found it difficult to go to a doctor and talk about it.”

In addition to self-medicating for his “obsessive-compulsive disorder,” Josh was also prescribed painkillers when he broke his feet in a car accident.  Captain Lee thought that “certainly compounded” the situation.

Captain Lee described watching Josh struggle with addiction.  He said, “For 20 years, every spare dime that Josh had that didn’t have to go into paying bills or something like that, went to drugs.  And they turn into recluses.  They don’t socialize with anyone.  They don’t go out.  They’re embarrassed in social situations.  You’ll have them at a family function and all of a sudden, they’ve gone missing and you don’t see them for 10 or 15, 20 minutes, and all of a sudden they reappear.  ‘Where did you go?’ ‘Oh, I had a phone call to make.’  And you know what they were doing. You’re just powerless to stop it.  We spent 20 years, every night, waiting for the phone call saying either he was in jail or that he was dead.”

At the time of his passing, Josh’s life seemed to be changing for the better.  Captain Lee explained that Josh was off painkillers and heroin for six months and, “he’d been doing well. We thought this time was the time we turned the corner. He had a DUI conviction about 12 or 13 years ago that he finally got off his record.  He’d got himself a car. He was working. We thought we might have hit a milestone.”

Tragically, Josh was not able to maintain his sobriety.  He overdosed on what appeared to be prescription opioids but were, according to a medical examiner, counterfeits laced with cocaine, heroine, and Fentanyl.

Captain Lee revealed that he was the one to find Josh on July 22nd at his home in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  “I walked in and he was sitting on the sofa with his head in his hands, and I thought he had just passed out,” he said, “I felt relieved.  I thought he was fine.  Then I went over to give him a hug, and he was cold.  He’d gone.”

“He was such a loving child, and guy. His sister would be having a bad day, so he’d drive by her house and drop a little note with a smiley face in the mailbox and just write on there, ‘Love Josh. Hope your day’s better tomorrow.’ There wasn’t anybody that knew him that didn’t realize he had an unconditional love for life,” Captain Lee shared, “he took a beating from a world that he never intended any harm to whatsoever, as most addicts do.”

Captain Lee has been relying on work to keep his mind occupied.  But there is no relief from the pain.  He explained, “I hate going to sleep, and I hate waking up.  There’s a hole there that can’t be filled.  And the person who said, ‘time heals all wounds,’ is full of it.  It doesn’t.  The only thing that time may do for you is allow you to learn the skills you need to cope with the situation that you’re dealing with.  As parents, you’re not designed to bury your children.”

He added, “The hard times for me are the alone times, when I’m on my own.  Those are hard.  I don’t laugh a lot any more.  Things aren’t too funny.  Once in a while something will slip in, and it feels good whne it happens.  And it gives you that glimmer of hope that you can get through it.

Captain Lee shared plans to fight the opioid epidemic but explained that he is not ready yet, “I don’t want to start something, then not be able to finish it.”

He is still processing the emotional fallout of Josh’s passing.  “There’s a lot of guilt that comes with something like this, “Captain Lee said, “what if I’d gone over to his house sooner?  What if I’d done this?  What if I’d done that?  I should have made his life easier.  So you carry around a tremendouse amount of guilt.  And then you have to stop and realize that you can’t prevent the inevitable.”

Captain Lee hopes that other grieving families can find some solace with his words.  He concluded, “that’s my endgame right now, because I can’t do anything else for my son right now.  He’s gone.”

Jax Taylor Questioned His Faith After The Deaths Of His Family Members

When Vanderpump Rules resident bad boy man Jax Taylor lost his father to cancer, it was a moment that profoundly changed him. Jax’s shared that his father, Ronald Cauchie, lost his battle and passed away in December of 2017.

Jax had the full support of his Vanderpump Rules co-stars as he faced this tremendous loss. On December 28, 2017 Jax tweeted, “My heart is broken, I lost my best friend and the best man I have ever met last night, I love you so much dad I can’t even breathe anymore, only person not letting me fall right now is my amazing girlfriend. I love you dad.”

When Jax and Brittany Cartwright tied the knot on June 29 at Kentucky Castle, the couple made sure that Jax’s father was remembered. They left one chair empty at the service, with a picture of Jax’s dad on it. I think that is so sweet and a wonderful tribute to Jax’s father.

In an interview with toofab, Jax discussed the deaths of his family members, and the effect it is having on his life. “I just lost a lot of family over the last three years. Dad, two uncles, couple friends, now my aunt… It is what it is, you know, it’s life. It sucks,” Jax said. “It just sucks.”

Jax hadn’t experienced a death in the family until three years ago. “I was very fortunate that none of my family members had passed away. After my dad went, it was just, you know… they all went,” Jax stated.

So how does Jax keep his chin up in the face of such grief and loss? Jax said, “You just gotta keep hope, keep faith, I guess. It’s hard, you start to question your faith, and your beliefs,” Jax continued. “Losing so many people that should not have left, there’s other people that should have gone before them, especially people who live doing everything the right way and then they die at such an early age.” Jax’s father died at the age of 59, while the rest of Jax’s family members were all only in their mid-fifties when they passed away.

“Just way too young. You just gotta have some kind of faith, but I tell you what, it’s a struggle,” Jax shared. “I’m big into church and stuff, and there’s days where I’m like, ‘I’m not going to church, I don’t believe in this stuff anymore.'” Jax added, “But then I wake up and I’m like ‘No, there’s a plan. There’s gotta be a plan.’ You have to have some kind of hope. I’m trying… I’m trying.”

Hopefully, with his wife Brittany’s help and the support from his Vanderpump Rules co-stars, Jax will process his grief in a healthy way. Of course,  this new-and-improved Jax also recently said that it is fine with him if his wife has an affair as long as it is with another woman. So rest assured…it sounds like Jax is going to be fine.

90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap: Hard To Say I’m Sorry

Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days, was like a gift from the reality TV gods. Between the desperation, delusion, and the secrets, I was on the edge of my seat. I often wonder if these people have no relationship/people experience. Why do they do these stupid things and believe that they will get positive results? But I am starting to realize that trying to compare their actions with rational people is what is actually crazy.

Tim makes a stupid decision. Benjamin negotiates a bride price for Akinyi. Darcey Silva confides in Tom Brooks’ sister. Angela Deem tries to make amends with Michael Ilesanmi‘s friends. Rebecca reveals shocking news to Zied. Get ready to break down the crazy!

TIMOTHY, 38 (NORTH CAROLINA) AND JENIFFER, 25 (COLOMBIA)

Timothy calls his ex-Veronica to get advice on whether he should propose to Jeniffer. Once again, she questions whether they have had sex, which is very odd to me. Instead of using the lack of sex as a reason Timothy should proceed with caution, she could have just mentioned the fact they have been fighting the entire trip.

He becomes frustrated that Veronica doesn’t automatically tell him what he wants to hear and ends the call. He wants his relationship with Jeniffer to move to the next level or end. Slow down, you have known this woman for two seconds!

Timothy is still mulling over the idea of proposing to Jeniffer. The only catch is that the ring he intends to use is actually a hand me down from Veronica. Hell no! Who wants a ring from a previous engagement? It is a slap in the face.

Timothy surprises Jeniffer with a beautiful picnic to discuss their relationship. She questions why he doesn’t want to have sex with her. She even confesses that she questioned his sexuality. Regardless, Jeniffer has decided to overlook it because the last couple of days have been nice.  Or maybe she is overlooking it because she thinks he is rich. Sigh! Timothy takes Jeniffer aside and presents her with the used ring. She is shocked when he adds that it’s only a promise ring. I can’t wait to see her face when she finds out who that ring previously belonged to Veronica.

Jeniffer wakes up disappointed by yet another sexless night. Timothy explains he was tired, but I am not buying it. Instead of morning sex, Timothy opts for a spa day. While in the hot tub, she asks where he bought the ring. Timothy begins stuttering that he originally purchased it for Veronica,  but she gave it back, so he could give it to Jeniffer. Jeniffer is extremely offended and takes off the ring.  She doesn’t want Veronica’s “trash”. Jeniffer, RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! There is something very odd about Timothy.

DARCEY, 44 (CONNECTICUT) AND TOM, 39 (UNITED KINGDOM)

Darcey and Tom go salsa dancing with his sister, Emma, and her partner. By the way Darcey is dressed, I thought they were attending a Halloween party. Why am I surprised? Things become cringy when Tom dances and spins his sister while she looks at him with wild eyes and horrible makeup. I will admit that they both have some moves.

Next is Darcey’s turn. As I watch them both attempt to be sexy, I am embarrassed for them. Surprisingly, Tom is actually a good dancer.  But he can’t be bothered to dance with Darcey for more than one song because she isn’t a seasoned dancer. The green-eyed monster creeps in as Darcey watches her man dance with multiple women. Uh oh, I feel a meltdown coming on.

Emma takes Darcey aside to talk before she pounces on one of Tom’s dance partners. Emma warns that Tom is a free spirit that can’t be controlled. Of course, Darcey can’t even control her own emotions let alone a man. But she begins to “let her slip show,” as my grandmother would say.  Even Emma can see Darcey’s jealous and insecure tendencies. She advises that she is going to ruin her relationship if it continues.

Little does Emma know, these breakdowns are a daily occurrence. Emma forces Darcey to just ask Tom if they are exclusive. He makes her day when he agrees that they are exclusive and the dancing means nothing. Oh, Darcey… this damsel in distress act is getting old…much like you. Cut the crap and start acting like a normal adult.

BENJAMIN, 33 (PHOENIX, AZ) and AKINYI, 25 (KENYA)

After crying about being rushed into a marriage, Benjamin is still trying to decide his fate. Akinyi joins him and is devastated to hear he is having second thoughts. He becomes emotional as he explains his fears. His number one concern is if Akinyi is ready to become a stepmother and a wife. Akinyi cries at the notion that he isn’t 110% sure of her. Girl… just wait until you come to America and see his life and apartment, you will really cry.

It’s the day of the bride price ceremony and Benjamin is nervous he doesn’t have enough money to honor the family. When Akinyi asks how much he intends to offer, he states 80,000 schillings, which is roughly $800 American dollars. In a post-interview, Akinyi states that the amount is insulting.  Even men who aren’t well off in Kenya, offer $3,000 dollars.

I don’t know what the hell Benjamin is thinking. Did he not do any research? He can’t honestly believe $800 dollars would be an acceptable bride price. Before the ceremony, Benjamin proposes to Akinyi with a ring that is too small. Akinyi’s reaction is strange. She doesn’t cry or seem extremely happy. Maybe she is starting to realize her boyfriend isn’t a rich American.

Benjamin and Akinyi arrive in matching outfits for the bride price ceremony. He is extremely nervous that he doesn’t have enough money. The couple has to part ways until the negotiations are over. In this case, we don’t know if they will ever see each other again when he offers that $800. Benjamin is immediately reprimanded for his tardiness. One family member has already left. Benjamin looks like he is about to have a heart attack as he offers the groceries and the ceremony begins.

AVERY, 19 (OHIO) and OMAR, 24 (SYRIA)

 

Avery is forced to say goodbye to her husband, Omar, after 10 days in Lebanon. She is heartbroken thinking about leaving him.  She vows to apply for a K1 Visa upon her return home. Just last week, she was accusing him of using her when he didn’t seem sad. Now she is madly in love again and can’t imagine being without Omar. Avery has a breakdown as she waits to get on her plane.

Avery’s mother and stepfather meet their daughter at the airport. On the ride home, they discuss her plan to move to Syria. Her parents try to convince her she won’t be happy in a war-torn country. She is completely unmoved by their pleas and believes she will be happy wherever her husband will is. Hopefully, she will repeat that sentiment in her head when she is Syria until she believes it.

REBECCA, 47 (GEORGIA) AND ZIED, 26 (TUNISIA)

Zied takes Rebecca to ride ATVs. Afterward, they share loving words in the desert. Zied even comments that he feels she is perfect. Obviously, this is the calm before the storm. I am literally sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for her to drop this bomb. Rebecca finally admits that she is still married.

Zied is shocked and extremely upset to find out he has been deceived. He storms away from her to process what he has just learned. When she comes out to speak with him, he doesn’t even want to look at her.  He jumps on an ATV and leaves a stunned Rebecca alone. What did she expect when she has revealed multiple lies throughout the trip?

ANGELA, 53 (HAZLEHURST, GA) AND MICHAEL, 29 (NIGERIA)

It’s the day after Angela went off on Michael’s friends, who she affectionately calls “the goofballs”.  Michael expresses his disappointment in her behavior with his friends. She admits she was still upset that Michael went out with his friends instead of listening to her whine when she was sick. For some reason, this is his friends’ fault.

As she says her crazy thoughts out loud, she begins to realize that her anger is misplaced. She asks Michael to call his friends so she can apologize for how she acted. Ummm… if I were his friends I would refuse to go anywhere near this raving lunatic. I probably wouldn’t even speak to Michael anymore after allowing his fiancée to disrespect his friends in that manner.

Michael’s friend Bode agrees to mediate the meeting with everyone. Angela makes it clear she is only apologizing for how she acted, but she has no desire to be friends. Ummm…okay, that was a horrible start. Michael reprimands his friends for talking back to his fiancée. He claims he would never disrespect their women if the situation was reversed.

The friends only apologize to keep the peace. These are some good friends.  I would have probably told Angela to go straight to hell. Angela cries because she feels Michael’s friends should be like family to her. She also is worried that because she isn’t Nigerian and is older they may convince him to leave her. I’m sorry, but how are any of those things Michael’s friends’ fault? Chile, please! Angela seems to get crazier by the minute. She wants full control and ownership over Michael. It’s not only pathetic, but it’s also scary. Michael, if you need safe haven away from Angela touch a finger to the tip of your nose.
