Well, it’s about that time! Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Episode 1 is here, and thankfully, we’ve got Captain Jason Chambers leading the charge all over again. There are a bunch of new faces joining him – and a couple of familiar ones – all aboard a brand new yacht. So, let’s dive right in, shall we? Here’s what went down in BDDU Season 3, Episode 1: “Seychelles, By the Seashore.”

What happened in Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Episode 1?

Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Episode 1 saw Captain Jason and his new crew headed to the Seychelles, on the Below Deck franchise’s biggest yacht to-date. It’s even got an elevator. Some of the crew’s personalities immediately clashed, and with bubbling tensions set to boil over before the charter season is even fully underway, it’s going to be bumpy waters ahead.

Welcome to the Seychelles

For the first time, Below Deck Down Under has moved away from Australia. This time around, we’re in the Seychelles, Africa; plus, we’ve got an almost all-new team. Captain Jason is back though, and after her Season 2 success, chef Tzarina has also returned. Deckhand Harry has made a comeback, but everybody else? They’re fresh to Bravo viewer eyeballs. Speaking of which, Captain Jason is having to put his own contact lenses in this year – we’re going to miss Aesha!

Tzarina is first to board yacht Katina, which is the biggest in Below Deck franchise history. There’s a piano, a tonne of space, and even an elevator. Many of the other yachts we’ve seen pale in comparison.

Next to arrive is chief stew Lara, from the UK. She’s been in the industry for 13 years, and will have two stewardesses, as well as a deck-stew. Tzarina’s got experience working with Lara, and describes her as “fantastic.” Then, Captain Jason delivers his surprise: a sous-chef!

“To be honest, so long as he can clean and heavy lift stuff – and hold me while I cry – that’s all I need,” Tzarina says. Plus, he’s British! “This could be really, really awesome.” Oh, how I wish that was true. The teaser trailer promised something else entirely…

As soon as Tzarina and Lara saw one another, Tzarina decided they should room together. Lara wasn’t entirely convinced, and said in confessional that Tzarina’s an acquired taste. “We are much better as off the boat friendships, but we’ve matured,” Tzarina admits. Gulp.

The final team lead to turn up is bosun Wihan – pronounced Vian. He’s from South Africa, and once worked as a shirtless server at a gay bar. Instant legend. The underlings then arrive, and we are officially underway!

There’s immediate tension for Tzarina and sous-chef Anthony

In getting to know her sous-chef, Tzarina asks some tough questions. So she can figure out how best to work with Anthony, she wants to know about his strengths and weaknesses. The problem? He’s not entirely sure how to answer; and gives a tiny bit of attitude rather than just admitting his flaws. We all have them, no chef is perfect; especially not one whose resumé isn’t up-to-date. As Tzarina says, “my weaknesses list is bigger than my strengths list.” She’s not trying to catch him out; she’s simply trying to ensure they work together in the best way possible. But Anthony doesn’t take it that way.

“What’s with the interview process here?” he asks. Yikes. Not exactly how I would talk to my superior upon meeting them; or even at any point down the line. Anthony better learn some respect, and fast. “This is a huge red flag,” Tzarina says in confessional. And to Anthony’s face, she warns him, “I don’t do egos. If it ever happens … get out.” There are 25 hours until the first charter, so hopefully these two can get on the same page.

“If Anthony plays his cards right with me, I’m more than happy that by the end of the season, he can make some guest food. But as a head chef, I’m not gonna trust any random person I’ve just met cooking for guests. Prove yourself to me and your skill, and then once trust is earnt, then of course, let’s go for it,” Tzarina says. Something tells me Anthony isn’t going to like sticking with salad preparations for the crew…

Jason calls the crew for their first meeting, and demands respect for and from everybody. After the horrific events of Season 2, it’s a necessary conversation.

The deck crew may also have an ego problem

Wihan has his deckhands together to chat about the plan of action ahead of charter one. Unfortunately, he’s immediately being undermined by his lead deckhand, Johnny. “Four people here, I think it is too much. Do you wanna split?” he asks his boss. “Because of experience, maybe I can go forward alone?” There’s no I in TEAM, Johnny! Fortunately, Wihan is receptive.

“As a bosun, I’m all about team mentality … if your ego is just about making a name for yourself, that’s not gonna work for me,” he says in confessional. And later, when Harry tells Wihan that Johnny claimed he was lead deckhand, it’s denied. “I will address it,” Wihan promises.

Meanwhile, Lara isn’t going to assign a second stew role. She wants no “bitchiness,” and asks her stews to work together so that they can mix things up in the future. We’ll see how that goes – hopefully better than it did for Daisy Kelliher over on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5.

Lara’s first frustration isn’t with her crew, but with the yacht. “Logistically, it’s a nightmare. There’s like four flights of stairs.” She worries about service, and does a walk through with Captain Jason. “If I forget something, then I’m gonna have to run all the way down the stairs, and then all the way back again.” The service team are about to become cardio masters.

Down in the galley, Tzarina discovers something truly disgusting. There’s a weevil and maggot infestation. Whoever was on board this yacht last did a terrible job of cleaning it up before departing. I hope they got a mighty big fine. With 12 hours until the guests arrive, a lot of food must be thrown away, and a deep clean delivered.

The first Below Deck Down Under Season 3 preference sheet meeting

The first primary of the season is Mark, an investor from Australia. He’s bringing along his partner and close friends, loves his meat, but warns his partner is vegan. Tzarina seems confident, as she’s just spent a month trying veganism. That confidence is shattered a little when Captain Jason jokes that Mark’s requested global tasting menu will have to consist of a dish from every single country in the world. Don’t worry, Tzarina. Nobody’s that hungry.

Brianna and Marina are bonding while getting cabins ready. Marina quickly breaks the ice by asking if Brianna has her sights set on anyone on board. She thinks Harry is “cute,” and loves his “energy.” Marina meanwhile has her eyes on Wihan. “His smile is just drop dead gorgeous,” she says. “Maybe I’ll find my love in Seychelles.” Lara interrupts the love sesh, and gives some tips on how to improve their cabin prep.

Up on the top deck, Wihan lets the crew know that he’s not going to run with any lead deckhand just yet. Johnny is pissed, but “time will show,” he promises. It’s time for bed, but Anthony is still working on clearing out the kitchen. He’s already questioning his decision to join the crew…

It’s time for charter number one

“You are a legend with a capital L,” Tzarina tells Anthony after seeing the galley. Everybody’s starting the day on the right foot, despite the blistering heat. But when Tzarina gives Anthony some pointers for the crew food, he sees it as “micromanaging.” She tells him she doesn’t mean to be “patronizing,” but I’m not sure he’s convinced. “I’m just guiding you because I’m a Jedi master.” She’s trying her best to make this work, bless her heart. But I’m just not sure Anthony is someone who likes being told what to do. Still, the food’s a hit. Now, time for guest arrival!

Lara gives the new arrivals a yacht tour, and it’s also our first chance at getting to see everything available. Honestly, this vessel is breathtaking. While I love this show, it depresses me to know I’ll likely never be able to afford such a luxury vacation. But I digress.

The primary jokes with his partner that she can use the bidet after her “beads.” But then, as the stews unpack her belongings, they find some toys, and aren’t entirely sure where to put them. “Maybe just put it in the side table,” Lara suggests, while the primary makes crude comments to his other half on the top deck. This is going to be a long charter.

As Captain Jason anchors, the deck team put together some very different toys for the guests to enjoy on the water. Meanwhile, Tzarina is prepping the global tasting menu, while Lara questions how they’re going to serve. Their history is an interesting one, and Tzarina wants to make sure that this time around, Lara realizes they’re a team, and she’s not in charge.

A jet ski without a key

While helping pack the water toys away, Johnny leaves his radio on the yacht and swims out to one of the jet skis. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the key. Without a way to signal back to the yacht that he needs help, he has a decision to make. Whistle and try to get some attention, wait it out for someone to see he needs help, or abandon the jet ski and swim back to the yacht. Thankfully, Harry and Wihan realize he’s missing, and go to his rescue. Harry laughs it up that “Mr. Lead Deckhand” made such a silly mistake.

“Embarrassing as it is, I’ll let it slide,” Captain Jason says. “As long as it doesn’t happen again.” Johnny feels embarrassed, but perhaps he needed this tiny knock to his ego so that he could remember he’s a part of a team.

In the galley, Tzarina and Anthony have put together some dishes that look delicious. The first course is a twist on an Italian gazpacho, and it’s a hit. Next up, an Indian onion bhaji, and the guests love the sauce especially. But now, service is hitting a snag. Tzarina’s third course is ready, but Lara’s not, and when it becomes clear that a spoon may also be needed for the guests, they butt heads. They’re both playing the blame game, but the truth is they should cater to the guests, and work out what went wrong after service is complete. A flashback to their earlier conversation sides with Lara; Tzarina only requested a knife and fork.

Over in the crew mess, Brianna reveals what she found in the guest’s luggage to Harry and Wihan. Harry finds her “stunningly gorgeous,” so could we have our first boatmance brewing?

Anthony wants more responsibilities

Anthony has said he’s had a “pretty chill” charter so far, and in confessional complains that he needs to be doing more. I get his point entirely, but he’s got to remember that the season has only just started, and as a sous-chef, he’s going to have to prove himself to his head chef.

With the night a success, everybody goes to bed, but Harry’s not impressed when he gets up early to find no one on deck, and guests waking up without a clean boat or anybody on service. As the stews begin to wake, coffee requests come in, while the breakfast table remains unprepared. It’s all becoming a bit of a nightmare, and Harry recognizes that the primary is awaiting his morning meal.

Lara’s beginning to have a bit of a meltdown in the elevator, which appears to malfunction. She’s trying to deliver a coffee, and the guests are growing impatient. “It’s coming apart the whole place. Can we get another boat?” the guests joke between themselves.

Now, all the breakfast platters must be walked from the very bottom of the yacht, all the way up to the top, but the guests want eggs. They make specific orders, which upsets Tzarina who was hoping to set out how breakfast would go. As much as I love Tzarina, she’s coming across a little bratty here. The guests get whatever they want; it’s what they pay for. Lara is doing her job and delivering the guest’s requests, so to see her brought to tears in her cabin is sad.

Anthony uses this moment to ask Tzarina to work more like a team. He explains how he hopes he can be “utilized,” but Tzarina doesn’t seem too receptive. This is going to get messy…

Below Deck Down Under continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo, and streams next day on Peacock.

Married to Medicine Season 11, Episode 10 Recap: A Tipsy Vibe Check

Married to Medicine Season 11 cast photo

This week’s episode of Married to Medicine should have been sponsored by Don Julio. A little too much booze caused the Key West couples’ trip to go south in record time. Seriously, you could get a hangover by proxy just by watching this episode.

Last week, Dr. Simone and Dr. Heavenly talked about how they wanted the group to return to Atlanta “lighter” than they left. That’s not happening. This year’s couples’ trip was like a ticking time bomb, and in Married to Medicine Season 11, Episode 10, “Battle of the Exes,” the bomb went off.

What happened on Married to Medicine Season 11, Episode 10?

The couples’ trip to Key West continued this week, with Dr. Heavenly and Dr. Simone as committed as ever to their mission of promoting peace within the group. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done when you have an ex-husband and wife on the trip along with their new partners. Things quickly took a turn for the worse after a boozy night pulled out some old, hard feelings between Quad and Dr. G.

Too many exes, too little time

Episode 10 picked up with the couples competing in their relay race. It was cute to see them all having fun, working together, and putting aside their differences, even for a second. Watching Phaedra and Dr. Jackie kayaking their way around Florida could have been an episode in itself.

It’s all fun and games at the start of the episode. However, the fact that there are all of these exes on the trip is a problem waiting to happen. This kumbaya energy isn’t going to last.

In a moment of foreshadowing, we see Sweet Tea talking to Dr. G. She said she felt like she was working through the awkwardness with Quad. She genuinely sounded optimistic about their relationship on the trip. Meanwhile, Dr. G wasn’t feeling it. He said he hadn’t spoken to Quad or King the entire time. That all changes by the end of the episode.

Where’s the pool?

Earlier this season we saw a baby shower with no baby thanks to Toya’s Birkin bag reveal party. This week, the ladies had a pool party with no pool. They’re really on a roll in Season 11.

Heavenly and Simone, who are co-hosting this trip, summoned everyone outside to a big slab of concrete. There was no pool in sight. When the Metcalfes got there, they felt a little confused. Contessa was like, “Wait, isn’t this supposed to be a pool party?”

Nope! This is a game called Vibe Check, organized by Heavenly and Simone. There will be no swimming. Instead, each couple will have to answer questions about each other on dry-erase boards in the style of the Match Game. What could go wrong?

Before the game started, the vibe already got weird when Phaedra showed up with Cheick. This is a couples’ trip, and no one could understand why she brought a guy she just met a few days ago.

“Interesting that she would bring Cheick here on the couples’ trip, a man she barely knows,” Simone said in a confessional.

Quad wants to “bust it open” for King

Quad Webb Married to Medicine

You can’t fault Phaedra for wanting some company on the couples’ trip, especially since Apollo is lurking around the resort, ready to join in on the fun. Plus. Cheick picked a good day to show up. He had a front-row seat to some serious mess thanks to the Vibe Check game and Quad’s bottomless cocktail.

When one of the Vibe Check questions was about children, Quad announced to the group that she was ready to “bust it open” for King and have a baby. He already has a nine-year-old, and Quad said that seeing him in daddy mode made her even more excited about reproducing with him. Cut over to Dr. G, who is just sitting there in his polo shirt taking it all in.

Things went left after a question about sex. Quad and King said they were doing it at least 15 times a week. Sweet Tea and Dr. G on the other hand? They said they were lucky to do it twice.

Quad’s liquored-up mind decided this would be a good time for her to interject, and she told her ex-husband his new wife they needed to have more sex. She also wants to plan their baby shower!

Slowly but surely, you could see Greg’s temperature rising. The tiki torch in the background behind him made it look like smoke was literally rolling off of his bald head. Bravo to the cinematography.

“I think she’s the perfect pick for my ex-husband,” Quad said about Lateasha.

That was the sentence that took Dr. G over the edge. He turned to Quad and replied, “We don’t care what you think.”

Where in the world is Dr. G?

After Dr. Greg clapped back at Quad, all hell broke loose. Quad started calling her ex-husband a narcissist. Dr. G told Quad she had a big mouth. It was like all of the toxicity of their failed marriage started bubbling back to the surface. Alcohol tends to have that effect on people.

Sweet Tea tried to get involved, but Greg didn’t like that. He really didn’t like that. He started screaming right in her face trying to get her to be quiet. It wasn’t a good look for him, considering all of the accusations Quad hurled at him over the years.

“Greg is losing it. He has lost it,” Toya said in a confessional.

Dr. G and Sweet Tea returned to their room, and he chastised her every step of the way. He really doesn’t want Sweet Tea interacting with Quad, and when they got back to their room, he freaked out even more about how he wanted to leave his failed marriage in the past. If that’s the case, then what are you doing on this show, sir?

While Dr. G walked off into the abyss, the rest of the cast was scattered around the resort, reflecting on the drama. It’s becoming clear to everyone that Greg can’t deal with the emotional labor of having to mingle with Quad and King. It’s just too much to listen to her talk about busting it open 15 times a week.

Lateasha tried her best to call him down, but the episode ended with him taking a walk to cool off. He left her sitting in the hotel room by herself, and she had no idea where he went. Maybe he should just walk on over to the airport. This trip doesn’t seem healthy.

Married to Medicine continues on Bravo every Sunday at 9/8c.

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17 Recap: All Bark, No Bite

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17

Welcome to the recap for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17 – the RHOP Season 9 finale. Last week, Ashley found her calling as a drag king and danced her heart out. However, her performance was overshadowed when Karen confronted Mia about Gordon’s side of the story. And in a surprise twist, Stacey sided with Mia. This made Karen and Gizelle decide not to walk in Stacey’s upcoming charity event. So, Stacey got messy and spilled all the tea Karen had told her about the group to Mia. This was sure to go over well. Here’s exactly what went down in RHOP Season 9, Episode 17: “All Bark, No Bite.”

What happened in Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17?

It was a heck of a finale for the RHOP crew. Both Ashley and Wendy celebrated huge milestones. Ashley was about to be a free woman, and Wendy got her big moment at the White House. But everything was turned upside down when word got out about Stacey spilling The Grande Dame’s warnings about the group. Karen denied any trash talk and put Stacey in a time-out. Unfortunately for her, everyone believed Stacey. Although they were fractured, the group came together for Stacey’s charity event. Which went well until there was a literal blowout at the end.

Stacey’s friend AJ read TJ like a book

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17

Karen was still not over Stacey siding with Mia; therefore, she was not going to walk in her Strut for Strays event. She said, “Why would I support Stacey when Stacey wouldn’t be fair and neutral with Mia and I … I don’t need to be going down this road of my friend breaking my heart and disrespecting me. I don’t need any more pain.”

Then Wendy told Karen the good news: she was taking her to the White House for her Dr. Wendy Show. They were both excited, but we know that will be short-lived once Wendy finds out what Karen supposedly said about her.

It turns out the ladies aren’t the only ones who think Stacey is rushing into things with TJ. Stacey’s bestie AJ let his feelings be known that TJ wasn’t the one for her. First, he was concerned she wasn’t dating anyone else. When Stacey said she wanted him to meet TJ, AJ responded, “I can wait.” Eats popcorn.

Never one to miss some camera time, TJ FaceTimed Stacey. AJ told Stacey, “He’s a lot; I can’t. I thought I was talking to an AI character.” He also felt that TJ was a “cornball,” and it was strange they weren’t intimate. He concluded that Stacey was tripping dating him. But even with AJ’s spot-on assessment, Stacey was still team TJ.

Ashley celebrated her upcoming divorce

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17

Ashley’s crew came over to celebrate Aunt Monica’s birthday. Her mom, Uncle Lump, and her sister were all there. Notably missing was Josh. The fam were fans of him but wanted her to take it slow. However, Uncle Lump was Team Ashley and advised her to do what’s best for herself.

Ashley then grabbed some flutes and ding, ding, ding! She had an announcement. If all went well, her divorce would be finalized next week. Everyone’s jaws were on the floor and continued to stay that way when she busted into another rendition of “Healing and Thriving.”

The memory of Gizelle’s father lived on as Gizelle planted her future Christmas tree with her daughters. This year was a lot for her. Losing her father and all three girls going off to college was almost too much to handle. But Gizelle had a plan, and that was to make the next half of her life amazing.

Dr. Wendy and crew arrived at the White House

Wendy’s manifestations had come true; she was going to the White House. She was set to interview Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Eddie and the kids were also along for the ride, and so was The Grande Dame. Wendy said, “Karen has always been a friend to me, so I want to return the favor and invite Karen.”

And Karen couldn’t have been more excited. She said, “Wendy is where she is because she deserves to be there. And I’m honored she would think of me to watch her in her moment.” But perhaps most excited of all was Karine when she saw Karen. She fangirled out and said, “Oh my goodness! Karen, The Grande Dame!”

Then Wendy got down to business and gave a flawless interview. Eddie couldn’t have been more proud. It was definitely another major milestone for Wendy.

It was time for Stacey’s charity event. She had a new do and dress just for the occasion. When she asked TJ if he liked it, he didn’t seem thrilled. TJ also came in hot when he met AJ which created tension right off the bat. However, AJ played nice. Then the rest of the crew arrived, including Karen. Stacey promptly pulled her aside for a chat. The party was about to get started.

Karen demotes Stacey to an “associate” position in the friend group

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17

It should come as no surprise that things did not go well between Karen and Stacey. Karen felt Stacey didn’t have her back in the Mia situation, even though Stacey said she defended her when they were at Lake Norman.

Stacey said, “I owe no allegiance to Karen Huger. Karen went from being my fairy godmother to the wicked witch in record time.” Karen told Stacey, “I haven’t given up on us, but you are in time out. You have been demoted. You are an associate; you are not a friend.”

Ashley then filled in Gizelle on her conversation with Stacey. She had told her the same info she dished to Mia about Karen talking trash regarding Wendy. In her confessional, Gizelle said, “Anytime there’s a new person to come into the group, Karen secretly takes this person out and tries to skew them in a way that’s great for Karen. But this is all backfiring on Karen.”

When Ashley and Gizelle brought it up to Karen, she quickly denied all charges. Right on cue, Stacey and Wendy came over. Gizelle asked Stacey what had happened. Stacey said, “Karen made it very clear that Mia is not Potomac. You also said that Wendy is self-absorbed, she wasn’t a girl’s girl, and she would never be my friend.”

Wendy was taking it all in. She said, “Ok, do I think Karen said that? No, I know Karen said that.” Then Stacey took Wendy to go get changed while they ignored Karen’s pleas to come back. Was Karen the one who was really demoted to associate instead?

The finale ended with a bang

Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, Episode 17

The more Stacey talked, the more the group believed her over Karen. Stacey explained Karen had taken her to her favorite mom-and-pop restaurant to spill the tea. Gizelle said, “You took Stacey to your spot. That makes me know I believe everything Stacey is saying. And Karen, ma’am, just stop talking.” However, Mia and Wendy remained unbothered.

Mia said, “I don’t know what to think about Karen anymore, honestly. I got tired of every time I got with her, she tries to tear me apart.” Wendy explained to Karen she didn’t want to be in a one-sided friendship. Karen denied any wrongdoing, but the damage was done.

Then the ladies walked the pups for adoption. In a sweet moment, both Wendy and Mia decided to adopt their dogs. But things went awry when some fog machines blasted at the end scaring the pups. This led Karen and Gizelle to describe Stacey’s event as a literal “sh*t show.” Still, it was an overall success.

Then it was time for the cast updates. Keiarna and Greg were together but not living together. Ashley was dating Josh, and Gizelle was officially an empty nester. Wendy was teaching again, and Stacey was in the final stages of her divorce. Mia had broken up with Inc and was potentially back with Gordon.

The big update, however, was for Karen. Flash forward to five months later, where she was found guilty in her DUI case. Her sentencing will be revealed sometime later this month. In the meantime, it’s on to the explosive reunion next week!

Real Housewives of Potomac continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
