Who knew a housewarming party could drag on for so long? I mean, seriously though. This episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County revolves almost entirely around last week’s drama at Shannon Beador‘s party and its immediate aftermath. Hence the foreboding title of the episode: “The Aftershock.” And if last week’s glass throwing by Braunwyn Windham-Burke was the splash heard ’round the OC, this week is the aftershock heard round…what exactly? Well, at least around the Porch Streets of Newport Beach. Which are, you know, all within walking distance of one another.
Cut back to Shannon‘s rented suburban dream home. Braunwyn has just stormed out in the wake of her argument with Gina Kirschenheiter. The rest of the ‘Wives are positively scandalized by the lone, unbroken glass sitting at the bottom of Shannon’s pool. It’s almost as if they never watched Tamra Judge throw red wine in Jeana Keough‘s face back in the Season 6 finale. Oh right, none of them did. Because none of the women in this cast were on the show back at the very start of the Real Housewives of Orange County glory days.
However, if one ‘Wife is still operating from the vintage OC playbook, it’s Braunwyn. First she pulled off a lesser version of Tamra‘s now-iconic move to punctuate her fight with Gina. But let me tell you something. Watching her storm off with Sean Burke chasing after her gave me such a deja vu flashback to Jeana and her angry gay minion leaving the Season 6 finale party that I practically felt transported back to the hopeful days of 2011. Only two things were missing. One, Sean shrieking, “That’s why you’re getting a divorce!” while he chucks a piece of stemware. And two, Quinn Fry standing silently by in a heinous platinum roleplaying wig.
Except Braunwyn doesn’t completely exit the party. Instead, she cries on the street while her husband accuses her of letting Gina “steamroll” their conversation. Braunwyn maintains — a la Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men — that she’s the only one in the group who’s being honest. And the other women simply can’t handle the truth! Again, this is simply a natural part of sobriety 101: suddenly Braunwyn is holding herself accountable and valuing honesty above all else. But that’s not how the truth operates in the land of Housewives, where the only thing that flows more free than the alcohol is the hearsay.
Eventually, though, Sean convinces her to come back and cry on the porch while he coaxes Gina out for a second attempt at a one-on-one conversation.
Even though Gina is busy riling the rest of the cast up about Sean “getting in her face” (he didn’t), she agrees to try talking to Braunwyn one more time. They both start out with apologies, which seems good. But when the two women get into it over the text message Sean sent Gina last year, it all goes downhill. Braunwyn maintains that Sean was innocently checking on Gina after getting her an Uber. But the ill-placed winky face in the message made Gina uncomfortable given the couple’s open sex life. And she’s not backing down from that. As the decibels get louder, the conversation goes in circles…and then down in flames. Braunwyn thinks that if Gina took the winky face the wrong way, that’s on her. But Gina walks away from the fight.
While Shannon gives the rest of the ‘Wives the grand tour of her new house, Braunwyn continues to unravel at home. Inexplicably, she changes into workout clothes and jumps on the treadmill. Probably to work off some of the post-fight adrenaline? Or maybe because the 15-second walk home from Shannon’s wasn’t enough. She’s so embarrassed by her outburst that she never wants to show her face among the other women ever again. Being the ever-supportive husband, Sean talks Braunwyn off the ledge and even agrees to go to an emergency AA meeting with her.
The next day, the rest of the cast is still reeling from the drama. Kelly Dodd and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas take a shopping trip to recount the play-by-play, while Gina vents to Emily Simpson, opening up about how her dad is also an alcoholic. So really, if they weren’t fighting, she’d be able to empathize with Braunwyn more than almost anyone.
Elizabeth also gets it because of addiction in her family, but really I’m more concerned with how many times the newbie thinks she can get away with wearing that hideous “No 1 Cares What You Shot” trucker hat this season? Is it supposed to be a gun reference via Chanel rip-off? It just goes to show that you can’t buy taste, even if you’re getting money from your billionaire ex-husband. And of course, Kelly grossly remarks that she’d never sit through an AA meeting to support Braunwyn. Because that’s the kind of person Kelly Dodd is.
Meanwhile, Braunwyn calls Shannon to try to repair the fracture happening in their friendship. She still maintains that the veteran ‘Wife called Gina‘s condo “sad and depressing,” but she wants to move on. In fact, she and Sean are throwing their 20-year vow renewal in Palm Springs, and she still wants Shannon, her boyfriend and all of their kids there. (Yes, even Lemonade Boy!) However, Shannon isn’t ready to let the drama go. She’s got a bone to pick.
You can even tell Braunwyn’s officially gotten on her bad side because Shannon’s now referring to her in confessionals by both first and last name. She accuses the Windham-Burkes of mounting some kind of crusade against her, but doesn’t want to look bad by not supporting a struggling cast member. Via confessional, Braunwyn nicknames her frenemy “Stepford Shannon.” She points out that Shannon’s always concerned with how things and relationships appear on the surface. Kind of like she just admitted, Shannon never wants to look bad.
Over at the Beador house, Shannon‘s not through talking everything out, with John Janssen as a sympathetic ear. So while Braunwyn kindly drops a mezuzah off at Kelly‘s, Shannon just keeps getting ramped up. (Kelly also throws out the first reference of the season to the coronavirus this week. Of course, she downplays it as just one of those things that happens from time to time. It’s just like H1N1, OK? As I’ll keep repeating in my recaps throughout this season, please do not turn to Kelly Dodd as an authority on the pandemic.)
Anyway, back to Shannon. Braunwyn admits to Kelly and Emily that she was angry with Gina and wanted to hurt her. Hence dragging Shannon’s (alleged) off-camera comments to light. And now, we don’t know who to believe. Because Braunwyn has pegged this whole fight on her just being honest. But she’s just admitted there was malicious intent behind it. So that could seem suspicious. Of course, now the sophomore ‘Wife just wants a clean slate. With Gina mostly, but also with Shannon.
For her part, Shannon‘s still furious that her integrity is being called into question. And she also questions Braunwyn‘s spotty, sometimes unreliable memory as a way of defending herself. Shannon thinks Braunwyn should be focusing on her sobriety rather than on sullying her reputation. And if there’s one thing Shannon Beador can’t move on from, it’s being called a liar. (Well except for all the times she has moved on from that very thing with numerous cast mates over the last seven years. But for the sake of this year’s storyline that’s apparently not relevant…) While the aftershocks seem to be settling, it looks like we’re headed for a completely new earthquake when the ‘Wives take off to Palm Springs…

Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd has been busy offending people near and far with her tone-deaf comments about the coronavirus pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. In May of 2020, Kelly commented on the Covid-19 pandemic by comparing it to “the flu.” Kelly stated on Instagram, “Well, people are going to die! I’m sorry to tell ya.” Her comments just boggle my mind.
Back in April, Kelly again took to Instagram to inform the world that coronavirus is “God’s way of thinning the herd!” Dr. Dodd once again apologized, but the damage was done.
In an Instagram Story in October, Kelly sported a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat at her bridal shower. As if mocking the Black Lives Matter movement wasn’t bad enough, Kelly posted a video in her Instagram Story where she doubled down. Kelly and a friend slurred that it was a joke, and that “Drunk wives matter…they kinda do.” The RHOC star added, “You know what, all lives matter.”
Kelly later took to Instagram again to issue another apology about the hat incident and stated, “It was not intended to offend or make any kind of statement. Of course, I support black lives and racial equality.” Sure thing, Kelly.
RHOC fans tried to get Kelly fired, but she is still on the show, wreaking havoc. Other fans have threatened to boycott the show.
Now it’s time to break out the champs because “Fancy Pants” Heather Dubrow is weighing in on Kelly’s behavior. Daily Mail reported that Heather discussed Kelly and the current cancel culture in an interview on the Poplitically Incorrect podcast.
The interviewer pointed out that Kelly made racially insensitive comments in the past, and that Heather called her out. Heather replied, “I don’t harbour any ill will. I don’t want to be friends, but I have… nothing.”
Heather, who left RHOC after Season 11 in 2017, understands why viewers are unhappy with Kelly’s behavior. Heather explained, “But, I think that in these days and times, talking about the boycott, if you don’t believe in the Black Lives Matter movement, if you’re gonna be against this, if you’re not gonna understand where we are in our world today and what humans need, you’re not human.” That makes perfect sense.
“And I think in those circumstances, you can understand why someone would be cancelled,” the actress and author added. Generally speaking, Heather is “not a big fan of cancel culture.” She continued, “I think we have to be careful with it because…you know…you don’t want to start throwing wider nets and wider nets, and accusations lead to good people getting hurt.”
It’s clear that Heather feels that Kelly has pole-vaulted over the line. “But when it’s so obvious…and things are so obvious, as we’ve seen over the last several months…there’s not a gray area,” Heather said. “When someone is behaving a certain way, they get cancelled.”
These days Heather has her own popular podcast, Heather Dubrow’s World, and a skin care line. Heather recently revealed that she and her favorite co-star, husband Dr. Terry Dubrow, are executive producing a new series that is now casting. We don’t know much about it, other than it will give some type of a relationship makeover to couples.

Listen, if you are trying to return to Below Deck after making yourself look like an idiot, come get your moment. Last time we saw Eddie Lucas, he was being a complete tool in the laundromat of motor yacht Eros. Much to Eddie’s delight, after the ridiculous season viewers had with Below Deck Mediterranean, his previous discrepancies might be easier to handle.
Fans are thrilled to have Captain Lee Rosbach return at the helm, but the majority of his crew are new to us. The only familiar face is Eddie. The bosun’s previous dalliances with a crew member left him wallowing in shame and begging for his girlfriend’s forgiveness (we were ON A BREAK!). After departing the show on a pretty bad note, Eddie is back with his tail between his legs for that redemption edit.
The 8th season of Below Deck has finally arrived and it’s bringing broken ribs, psycho guests, and the Rona. It also brought Eddie back on board as bosun. Eddie did a real number on himself during the show’s third season by banging Rocky Dakota on the downlow in a romantic setting that included detergent and fabric softener. Rocky might have been the human version of a headache, but she in no way deserved how Eddie treated her because he got busted.
Eddie became frontrunner in the Asshole Hall of Fame when he lied about his dirty laundry, literally. Not only did Eddie gaslight and slut-shame Rocky, he disappointed Captain Lee. It wasn’t a good look and he did the right thing by hiding taking a break from television. Eddie spoke with Digital Spy about his return and what he hopes to achieve.
“I thought it’d be a good time to come back and have a little bit of a redemption season,” Eddie said. True that. Time heals many wounds and fans are still medicating after Below Deck Med’s Captain Sandy Yawn and sycophant Malia White pretty much killed feminism in the name of Maritime Law. We could use some nice guy Eddie right about now.
Eddie added, “After my last season I was on, I left being pretty embarrassed and disappointed in myself. I felt that this would be a good time to kinda come back and be a good time to show that those really stupid mistakes I made were just that – a mistake in my life. It’s water under the bridge. I wanted to come back and show the viewers, and prove to Captain Lee also, that I’m still professional. I’m still a good bosun and I can get the job done.” Yes, humiliating a human being on national television was indeed a “stupid mistake”.
After Kate Chastain sailed her last voyage, new Chief Stew Francesca Rubi might reveal what she lacks in snark, she makes up for in tears. Everyone else is about 50 shades of green. Eddie shared, “This season, Captain Lee didn’t have Kate [Chastain] with him anymore and I think he needed a little ace in the hole. Somebody he could rely on.” Sure dude, just keep your texting fingers in check and stay away from the spin cycle.
Eddie explained, “He [Captain Lee] definitely reached out to me to come back and work with him again. I’m always happy to work with Captain Lee. He’s a good friend of mine, really a lot of fun to work with.” Hopefully Eddie won’t blow his second chance and learned from his mistakes. It’s easy to make an ass out of yourself and apologize, but it takes effort to overcome shitty behavior because of bad choices. Stay tuned to see if Eddie deserves receives the redemption he seeks and finally gets a handle on that whole “stupid mistakes” thing.

It’s been almost a year and a half since we first laid eyes on the Season 1 cast of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way — one of the TLC producers’ more recent attempts to max out this cash cow of a reality series. In this spinoff, viewers followed Americans as they fell in love with foreigners and decided to give up their entire lives to move to their partner’s country instead of bringing them to the US to secure the coveted green card and chase the American dream.
Florida resident Laura Jallali fell deeply in love with much younger Tunisian hunk Aladin Jallali who was a personal trainer living in Qatar at the time. Throwing caution to the wind, Laura packed up her suitcases and left her Floridian home and adult son in the dust as she headed across the pond to live happily ever after in the world’s richest country to spend her golden years getting endless amounts of jiggy jiggy (also known as SEX) with with her husband to be. But, alas- in a tale as old as time we’ve come to recognize among couples within the 90 Day Fiancé series and its spin-offs- all that glitters is never gold, it seems.
According to Us Weekly, Laura has confirmed that her brief, but tumultuous marriage to Aladin has been finalized more than a year after the the latter asked for a divorce amidst simultaneously announcing their split in front of the entire cast during the filming of their season’s tell-all. Viewers watched Laura and Aladin endlessly quibble over their complicated sex life, endless bouts of jealousy and Laura’s son Liam’s blatant opposition to his mother’s relationship. Yet, somehow, these two managed to forge on through this hot mess and get married in a traditional three-day Tunisian wedding. Still- the fact that this marriage didn’t end up becoming the fairytale Laura and Aladin had envisioned. “This is shocking,” said literally no one.
Confirming her marriage’s status during a recent episode of The Domenick Nati Show, Laura frankly explained, “My current relationship status with Aladin is we are officially divorced as of 12 p.m. our time.” Shooting her shot, she continued, “So I am now single. If there’s any men who wanna put a ring on it, I will judge the diamond size and the quality. But yeah, totally, come on, DM me. Show me the ring. Let’s get jiggy with it.”
You mean to tell me that the 25 year-old online boyfriend Laura bragged about in May didn’t work out? That’s too bad.
When addressing whether or not she believed her husband was faithful during their marriage, she said, “When we both agreed to go on the show, one thing I said to Aladin prior was, ‘Please don’t do me wrong. I’m not gonna go on TV with you if you are going to eventually leave me for somebody younger [and] more beautiful,” before confirming that he had, indeed, promised her that he would never cheat.
“Straight up, that’s what happened,” she said. “He got inundated by a ton of women. I mean, he was already engaged six months after our tell-all. So, in that regard, he wasn’t the most faithful man, you know what I mean?” In an attempt to clarify, Laura continued, “Did he sleep with somebody when I traveled to New York City to do my tell-all? Maybe. I don’t know. He had a lot of girls there in Africa that were quite interested in him. They all thought he was really rich because the TV cameras coming to Tunisia to film our second wedding. So he was like the bomb [in that area].”

This might be what you call cutting and running. Erika Jayne is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle and alimony. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star finally has a storyline recently filed for divorce from her husband of twenty years, Tom Girardi. How can any of us hope to find true love when it just died in Pasadena? Also, who gets custody of Mikey?
Unfortunately for Tom, losing half his net worth isn’t the only thing going wrong this week. The acclaimed attorney has been plagued by legal issues over the years and 2020 has been no different. Tommy may or may not have a thing about paying back money. In September, Tom was on the receiving end of some papers alleging he doesn’t know how to count. Now, just a few weeks later, Tom is once again being accused of failing at numbers and having a reluctance to pay bills. Sir Isaac Newton he is not.
Tom needs someone mathematically proficient in his life. Mikey, get this man a calculator! Poor Tom probably needs a nap to start wrapping up his extracurricular court cases so he can concentrate on the demise of his wallet marriage. But it seems like Tommy can’t catch a break. Not only is he being sued for fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty by another law firm – now he’s being sued by… a widow.
The very last thing someone who has lost their partner wants to do is go to court. It’s quite enough to endure sorrow and pain without the added discourse of lawyers and someone stealing from you. This is not the situation for Judy Selberg, however. According to The Blast, Judy retained Tom as an attorney after her husband suffered a fatality in a boating accident.
Here’s where it gets messy. In March 2020, the lawsuit was settled with Judy and the defendants agreed to pay $500,000. Judy says Tom and his firm advised she was entitled to $296,394.55 from the settlement. Judy says this was not the right amount and was lower because Tom “inappropriately’ increased the attorney fee from 33.3% to 40%. Oh, Tommy…
Judy alleges she was only paid $50,000 from the settlement and Tom refused to make good on the remaining balance. Judy is legit implying Tom and his firm stole her money. She was forced to hire another law firm to represent her and stated Tom’s actions have caused her major emotional damage. The lawsuit is seeking the entire unpaid amount from Judy’s settlement. She is also seeking unspecified damages (translation: big bucks) for Thomas’ alleged negligence.
Tom has yet to respond to this most recent lawsuit. It sounds like he is going to be quite busy in the remaining months of 2020. Hopefully the dissolution of Tom’s marriage somehow enables him to start paying debts on time. Now that he will no longer have to front $40,000 a month for Erika’s eyelashes, perhaps he will have extra cash to take care of those IOUs.
