Three Ways Kody Brown Is Sabotaging His Marriage to Robyn

It can be argued that Kody Brown was not lucky in love. The Sister Wives star had hoped to prove that love should be multiplied and not divided but has failed miserably. And while Kody is more than content to sick back and blame those around him for his shortcomings, the fact remains that he only has himself to blame. At one time, Kody had four wives: Meri Brown, Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Robyn Brown. But now the father of 18 is down to just one.

Robyn was always held high on a pedestal. Kody often compared his first three wives to his fourth, which never went over well. As Season 19 is about to premiere, Kody is again finding himself in a tough spot. Robyn has been his longtime supporter, but with a major communication breakdown, it is starting to feel like Kody was looking for love in all the wrong places (looking for love in too many faces).

1. Kody Brown is his own worst enemy

The Season 19 sneak peek footage shows Kody’s discord with his plural family again. One scene shows Kody angrily ranting, “They have all betrayed me! I am out of my mind.” As a longtime viewer, I, like many others, have picked up on some of Kody’s idiosyncrasies. The man has a way of making himself believe that he is the martyr of his own life. Kody often had plans of grandeur, which stemmed from his love of control. But the moment a wife didn’t go along with the exact plan, he would throw himself down on the floor and have a metaphorical tantrum. Instead of listening to his spouses, he tried to pull their opinions in, which shut down their right to express a valid argument. 

Kody’s overinflated ego has been the culprit behind his relationship’s demise. He blames his ex-wives for everything that has gone wrong and even treats some of his older children as if they were his sworn enemy. Kody is arrogant. He would rather cut out his older children than try to make peace with them. But by alienating the children, he has also given his former wives the ick. What mother would stand for their children being mistreated? None. 

2. Kody Brown can’t please Robyn Brown

TLC viewers were not prepared for the Season 19 trailer to drop. What was more shocking was that the sneak peek showed Robyn at her wits’ end with Kody. For so many years, the two have been inseparable and on the same page. But something feels off between the two as of late. After Kody blows up over another family issue, Robyn is shown crying in the background. As Sobbin Robyn tries her best to confront her extremely emotional husband, the mother of five is obviously losing her patience. In her confessional, she notes that Kody is “sabotaging our relationship.”

Kody is then shown taking his anger out on the wood he is trying to chop. Robyn’s motives have always been questioned by fans and family alike. But Kody has started to lose his plot these last few seasons. The man just can’t keep his emotions in check. The once divorced Robyn had made it clear she wanted to grow old with her sister wives and is seen telling cameras, “I feel like the idiot that got left behind.” Could it be after 14 years of marriage Robyn has finally gotten the ick?

3. The patriarchy seemingly turned Kody Brown into a monster

There is no doubt that when Christine left the clan, what was left of Kody’s fragile masculinity broke. During Season 17, fans threw up in their mouths a little when they heard Kody try to put his foot down. The Arizona resident stated, “I’m going to be the head of my household again, and I’m not going to be circumvented in that. If everybody’s willing to conform to patriarchy again … ’cause I’ve been fighting to make everybody happy. My bitterness is out of trying to do that and not having the family that I had thought about and designed.” It always struck me as ironic how Kody felt he was going to come across as less masculine in front of his wives. The speech, however, showed that Kody still has his knuckles dragging on the ground.

I mean, nothing says you aren’t in charge like having to announce you are in charge repeatedly. The thing with Kody is he isn’t about to change. In his mind, he truly feels that he has only offered his best to these women. And as I once was told, “You can’t fix stupid.” Now, I would be surprised if Robyn also decided to leave Kody in the dust. Even though she probably should get out of dodge, I think she will stick with him because, at the very least, she can still turn his neck to favor her.

Who Would Be on Bravo’s Mount Rushmore?

Mount Rushmore National Memorial is important for several reasons. The rock formations honor some of our most renowned American leaders and feature four presidents on the side of the mountain: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The men represent the first 150 years of American history. The public work of art symbolizes the ideals of freedom, democracy, and patriotism. 

So naturally, when I had a moment to stop and think of whose face would grace my Bravo Mount Rushmore, I had some ideas. Just like the historical monument, Bravo’s best of the best need a place to rest their laurels. The Greek gods have Mount Olympus, and our beloved presidents already have South Dakota. So it is only fitting for some of the network’s most loved to be given a fitting tribute. I’d want the sanctuary to be an inspiration to visitors from all over as they look up and openly quote the stars on the wall. 

Reza Farahan – Shahs of Sunset

Fans have missed Shahs of Sunset ever since the show went off the air in 2021. The group were documented trying to juggle their active social lives in Beverly Hills while balancing the demands of their families and traditions. None told a better story than Reza “Joon” Farahan. The star of the show is quick-witted and known for his “tell it like it is” attitude. It also helped that he had a fabulous Persian style that embraced gold and his thick mustache. But I don’t envy the sculptor who will have to chisel that perfect lip blanket. 

Along with being the catalyst to most drama, Reza revealed what life was really like for him as a gay man. Reza’s openness about his sexuality on the show sent a message of support to fans who also came from a similar cultural background. At the time, Reza noted he felt a responsibility to young Middle Eastern youth. For this alone, the man deserves a spot on the Mount Rushmore of Bravo since it was a hard story to tell. 

Lisa Vanderpump – Vanderpump Rules

Lisa Vanderpump is an icon. She single-handedly started the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and then produced another successful series on Bravo, Vanderpump Rules. Not only did she manage to create drama from the scuffles due to her SUR, but she also got America hooked on goat cheese balls. Lisa is one of a kind. The woman owns swans, a rose-themed villa, and even ponies that could sometimes be mistaken for unicorns, thanks to all the glitter in their manes. When it came to Lisa, she always had that stiff upper lip and refused to do anything but keep calm and carry on.

 I’d argue that Lisa is the only Bravo star with the Midas touch. Everything the restaurateur touches turns to gold. Lisa isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but the Real Housewives star does a lot of good. She is an avid animal lover, LGBTQ+ ally, and an entrepreneur. She is open about her experience with adoption and walks the walk. Due to all this, she might be the first face carved so no one can block her good side.   

Kyle Cooke – Summer House

There is only one reason Kyle Cooke is making this list, and that is due to his undying love of America. And the mullet. We can’t forget the mullet. I am very aware I am going to have to look over Kyle’s misdeeds, which have included cheating and gaslighting his wife. Kyle is the American Dream. He made Loverboy into a company that just did $38 million in sales. Kyle had a lightbulb moment after everyone kept asking him what he was drinking on the show. After hawking other brands for so long, he decided to create a one-of-a-kind, health-conscious alcohol product. Now, he is laughing all the way to the bank. 

Kyle isn’t just a pretty face (which will help attract tourists.) He is smart, too. The New Yorker single-handedly invented the Bravo payscale. While on the Trading Secrets podcast, Kyle revealed that he ran point on the negotiations between the cast and Bravo. His idea was a cast member gets paid more the longer you’re on the show. Kyle noted, “If you join season 3 or season 6, you’re making what we all made in our first season.” So the OGs are making the most money while the newbies start at the OG’s Season 1 salary. So Kyle can throw a great July Fourth bash and talk with the big boys? He’s on our mountain, for sure. 

Teresa Giudice – Real Housewives of New Jersey

I have to show respect to the woman who literally put the Real Housewives on the map and left meatball stains on the rug of a fine dining establishment. Teresa Giudice has single-handedly made Bravo a household name. To this day, I can’t go a week without letting a Treism slip out of my mouth (Hekyll and Jive still kills me.) Teresa has shared every moment of her life with viewers for the last 14 years. The Real Housewives of New Jersey cameras have caught her flipping tables, giving birth, going to jail, losing her parents, getting divorced, falling out with her brother, and remarrying. Not many other Bravo stars have given fans that much material to work with.

But Teresa has always delivered. If it were up to me, Tre’s face would go smack dab in the middle of the rock art, complete with her original widow’s peak, just for old-time’s sake. And if we are getting really creative, we can add an interactive audio section that has Tre yelling “Joe!” all through the land.

How Janelle Brown Is Remembering Garrison on the Six-Month Anniversary of His Death

On March 5, 2024, Garrison Brown was found dead in his home in Flagstaff, Arizona, at the age of 25. The news came as a shock to Janelle Brown and the polygamous family and Sister Wives fans alike. Garrison had a falling out with his father, Kody Brown, over the patriarch’s COVID-19 rules, with the father and son never recovering. The Coconino County Medical Examiner revealed that Garrison had died from a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was ruled a suicide. It was also noted that Garrison had suffered from alcohol poisoning. The Brown family is still trying to piece their lives back together and came together this week to honor Garrison on his six-month death anniversary.

Since the loss of her son, Janelle has been a woman of few words. While she has tried to go on with her daily life, she is still reminded of the child she lost often. Since Garrison’s death, Janelle has been keeping busy and spending a lot of time with her daughter in North Carolina. She also worked hard at finding homes for his beloved cats. On Thursday, Janelle took to her Instagram to share some thoughts about her son. The TLC star posted a photo of her as she embraced Garrison and laughed. Janelle wrote, “6 months ago today, you went away. You come up in my photo memories almost every day.”

Janelle continued, “Sometimes it doesn’t seem like you’re gone. And then I remember I won’t be getting a call or text from you, and it all comes rushing back. I know you fought hard, but in the end, you just couldn’t stay. I love you so much and will see you again when my journey is done.” In honor of Garrison, who also loved the autumn season, Janelle prepared a hearty meal. In her Instagram story, she said, “Comfort food is in order this evening.”

Garrison’s older sister, Maddie Brown, also took to social media to express her sadness on this heavy day. She wrote, “Six months. It’s been six months since this beautiful soul left us, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. In some ways, it feels like he crosses my mind even more now, which might be a sad truth for many who’ve lost someone in this way.” Maddie touched on her brother’s suicide adding, “I am constantly reminded just how many people are touched by this kind of loss. Every day, I hear from people who, like me, were blindsided by the sudden absence of a loved one. Sometimes it’s bullying, sometimes it’s loneliness, and sometimes it’s mental health, which I don’t think we fully understand.”

According to Maddie, “My brother, Garrison, had his struggles, but this was not something any of us saw any signs for. We were truly blindsided. We talked regularly, and my mom’s kids have always been close-knit, even as life changed around us. Garrison was sarcastic and witty, and in moments of seriousness, he seemed almost uncomfortable with it—like it was hard for him to be vulnerable.”

In her post, Maddie shared a collection of pictures. One showed Garrison playing with his nephew. Another showed Maddie and Garrison as little kids playing in the backyard. The last slide was a video of Garrison interacting with her nephew, Axel. Maddie added, “I miss him dearly, and the truth is, I don’t know how to talk about this. His death took us all by surprise. It leaves me wondering—if we talked about mental health more openly, could something have changed?”

The new season of Sister Wives will touch on Garrison’s suicide as cameras were there for the aftermath. Maddie concluded her post by saying, “I’ll never know for sure. But what I do know is that the hurt doesn’t go away. It just transfers. And sometimes, it feels amplified. For anyone who’s been touched by this kind of loss, my heart is with you. You’re not alone in the pain, and it’s okay not to have all the answers.”
