Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 has gifted us another bromance in Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher. Immediately, these two accent-heavy skilled deckhands bonded, leaving us with multiple scenes of giggling (and subtitles) in return. From working underneath a not-quite-ready-to-lead Bosun, all the way down to their messy boatmances, these two have endured as one. We just sat down with Joe and Nathan, who are currently running amok in New York City, to chat about their bond, relationship statuses post-filming for Season 9, music, and who they respect the most onboard their yacht.

The bruhs of Below Deck Med

As Joe and Nathan told Reality Tea, their friendship took zero time to build. This is because they’re “the same caliber of person,” according to Joe. Their friendship started “from the get-go. You just know when you’ve got a boy by your side, and that’s my boy right here,” he added, pointing at a smiling Nathan.

“We just fed off each other’s energies,” Nathan agreed. Joe then explained that if he didn’t have Nathan, he’d likely not “have had the same experience on Motor Yacht Mustique. Judging by what you’ve already seen, if I didn’t have this guy, I’d probably crumble,” he gushed. “If I didn’t have this guy, I’d crumble as well. We’d be apple crumble,” Nathan joked. Punny as hell.

The potential future firings that still lie ahead

Joe and Nathan are struggling with Iain Maclean. Therefore, suspicions are arising about Iain’s possible firing. We know that these two cannot speak on this, but we still had to ask.

Shooting us down, Joe encouraged us to “wait and see.” But Nathan chimed in, teasing that what we will see is “a very good watch.” Feeling intrigued, we asked Joe to blink three times if a Bosun promotion was in his very near future. This caused another bromance sesh, which we happily allowed. Love is love.

“We don’t blink,” Nathan quipped, coming to the rescue of his buddy. Laughing, Joe added, “We just close our eyes simultaneously.”

Speaking of struggling crew members, we next broached the topic of Chef Johnathan Shillingford. “On a personal level, the crew food is amazing. Not one day did we go without food,” Joe answered, calling Chef Jono a true “professional.”

However, Nathan noted that in watching his season, he’s seeing the issues at hand, but he’s also loving how his costar is stepping up to handle his business. “It’s nice to see Jono improve as he goes along. He’s took on the criticism quite well. He’s had meetings with Captain Sandy [Yawn] on the bridge, and he hasn’t shriveled up and panicked,” Nathan recounted, proud of his fellow Below Deck Med Yachtie.

Joe and Nathan’s other boatmances

These yachties know that boatmances are harder than bromances. As for Joe, his love triangle with Bri Muller and Elena Dubaich is heating up, which Elena touched on with Reality Tea a few beats ago. Right now, Elena has Joe blocked. On Elena, Joe remained polite and mum.

But he does still speak with Bri, revealing that they FaceTimed recently. Overall, “we love Bri” Nathan explained.

As for Nathan, on Watch What Happens Live, he teased that soon, Gael Cameron is giving in to her attractions. We brought this up, needing further intel, but our man shot us down. “I’m a teasy kinda guy,” he laughed, making Joe giggle. But, he does admit that “we won’t be disappointed” on what is still to come.

Even still, form an orderly queue, everyone. Because as Nathan notes, they are both now “single and ready to mingle.”

As we all just saw, Joe’s a genius on the keys. Shockingly, he’s “had no formal training.” Joe’s “self-taught,” and now, Nathan wants in. As Joe explained, “he [Nathan] wants to learn how to do the DJ, and I want to learn how to play the saxophone.” Moving forward, “that’s going to be our trade,” Nathan interjected.

Speaking of talents onboard, “what a voice he [Chef Jono] has, Joe expressed. “I thought I was musically inclined. That man pisses all over me,” he laughed. Reality Tea told Joe to add Chef Jono to their band (and also us, because why not), so yeah, that’s probably not happening.

Joe and Nathan love Captain Sandy Yawn

“What a power woman that is,” Joe says, referencing Captain Sandy. “I’ve been delegated lead deckhand, and that’s my first lead deckhand role. And for her to be my captain, and to put me at ease when I’m under pressure … she’s a Godsend,” Joe gushed, when asked about his boss.

Nathan agrees with Joe on this. “Affirmative. Smart. Clever. Knows how to hold a conversation. She’s good. She’s amazing,” he added.

When we asked if there was any other Captain that they’d like to film with, they both stressed that for them, it’s Captain Sandy or Bust. “Captain Sandy, all day long,” Nathan stressed.

Digging further, we asked if they were still in touch with their former superior. “I’ve sent a few memes. She’s liked them. So she’s engaged,” Joe chided.

The boys’ final drops of tea

When yachting becomes meh, both might consider a career as a “yacht broker.”

If Joe could choose anyone from the entire Below Deck franchise to film with, he’d pick “Luka Brunton.” As for Nathan, “Throw anyone at me. We’ll have a good time,” he joked.

Both of these boys want to return. “I’ll start this afternoon,” Joe laughed, as Nathan giggled, saying that he’d even take on the role of a Stewardess if needed.

Most importantly, if anyone is considering getting into this field, both these men say “do it,” because “it’s a good life.”

This interview has been edited for conciseness and clarity.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

The Real Housewives: 100 Best Moments Ever (90-81)

The upcoming Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 will be the 100th season of the Real Housewives franchise. To celebrate this milestone, we’re looking back at the best moments from every series. Here are our picks for #90-81 in the rankings. If you don’t see your favorite moment here, don’t worry – we’re still counting down to #1!

90. Sutton Stracke wants Kyle Richards to name ’em

Sutton Stracke emerged as the main character of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13. Especially after this confrontation with Kyle Richards. Referencing the Magic Mike meltdown (more on this in a bit), Kyle said, “You have a habit of losing your shit in ridiculous circumstances.” Sutton responded by asking her co-star to “name ’em.” She repeated it so much that Kyle ultimately couldn’t, well, name ’em. Kyle backed down as Sutton kept repeating her new catchphrase.

“Name ’em” was instantly iconic to Bravo fans. Julia Roberts even acted the scene out on Clubhouse Playhouse. The moment became such a big deal, that Kyle warned Sutton not to do “the name ’em thing” at the reunion.

89. Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger get interrupted by a mime

When Real Housewives of Potomac was good, it was the best Real Housewives series. And this moment from Season 3 proves it. For context, Monique Samuels sent out a mime to invite her co-stars to the Paris cast trip.

By the time he got to Karen Huger and Gizelle Bryant, they were in the middle of an argument. When Karen called Gizelle a clown, the green-eyed bandit pointed to the mime with a perfectly deadpan “No, that’s the clown.” Karen assumed the mime just wanted camera time. Meanwhile, Gizelle just wanted to get away from the mime, especially when he climbed over a barrier to give her the invite. Karen ended up walking away, while the mime looked shocked by their language.

This was a moment unlike any that came before. It has to be one of the funniest Real Housewives scenes ever. And the attempts to recreate it on other Real Housewives shows just don’t measure up.

88. Chanel Ayan gifts Lesa Milan a goat

On Real Housewives of Dubai, star Chanel Ayan always does the most. Including when it comes to gifts. For Lesa Milan’s Thanksgiving dinner in Season 1, she brought an actual real-life baby goat. Chanel stood by her unusual (and very extra) gift. She explained that, in Kenya, goats symbolize love.

For Lesa, the gift was just confusing. “In Jamaica, this animal would definitely be in somebody’s pot,” she said, listing some recipes. “But we’re in Dubai. Girl, what do you think I’m going to do with this goat besides my kids making him or her a pet?”

In Season 2, Chanel and Lesa’s friendship is falling apart. Maybe another gift of a goat can mend things?

87. Sutton breaks down at Magic Mike

Name ’em is iconic even without context, but the backstory makes it even better. While in Las Vegas for Crystal Kung Minkoff’s birthday, the RHOBH cast went to see Magic Mike. Crystal and Erika Jayne were brought on stage. Then Sutton, as Kyle would say, lost her shit.

Was it because she didn’t get invited on stage? Was the show too raunchy? Or was it both? Who even knows, but regardless, she had to leave. And she had to remind everyone that she was on the board of the American Ballet Theater.

86. While Jill Zarin is in high school, Alex McCord is in Brooklyn!

To celebrate Alex McCord joining RHUGT, let’s revisit one of her (many) iconic moments. #RHONY #RealityTV #Hayu

Real Housewives of New York OGs Alex McCord and Jill Zarin gave us a feud for the history books in Season 2. Alex, fed up by Jill’s constant insults, angrily confronted her. As she stood up for herself, Alex launched into a theatrical monologue. She started by comparing Jill to a high school mean girl. Then she uttered an all-time great Real Housewives quote: “And while you are in high school, I am in Brooklyn, trying to survive in this economy!”

85. Sutton is jealous of what, Crystal Kung Minkoff’s ugly leather pants?

By Season 13, Sutton and Crystal became close friends. But they didn’t start on the right foot. In Season 11, Crystal accused Sutton of jealousy. As Sutton walked off, she responded incredulously, “Jealous of what? Your ugly leather pants?” And with that, Crystal’s paper bag-waisted leather pants went down in Bravo satatorial history.

When Kathy Hilton joined the ladies to comfort a sobbing Sutton, it spawned another incredible moment that will appear later on our list.

84. Ramona Singer tells Aviva Drescher to take a Xanax, calm down!

Ramona Singer, also known as the Ramonacoaster, is in rare form on cast trips. And since RHONY Season 1, she’s flipped out when a husband crashes a girl’s night. So when Aviva Drescher’s husband Reid came along in Season 5, it turned into a fight. Aviva kept arguing that she needed Reid to get her on the plane, due to her anxiety. Ramona screamed, “Taaaaaake a Xanax! Caaalm dooown!” Aviva fired back by saying she didn’t need Xanax OR Ramona’s beloved Pinot Grigio to calm down.

What made this Real Housewives moment funnier was that Aviva was dressed in business casual while Ramona and Sonja Morgan were in swimwear. The whole thing ended with Aviva calling Ramona and Sonja “white trash.”

83. Gimme pizza you old troll

Teresa Giudice’s daughters are one of many reasons she’s the queen of Real Housewives of New Jersey. Viewers watched the girls grow up. But to some RHONJ fans, Milania will always be the little girl who called her dad, Joe Giudice, an old troll. This quote gets repeated a lot because, frankly, we all relate to pleading for pizza.

In 2023, Milania recreated this moment with Joe on TikTok. Meanwhile, her stepfather Luis Ruelas recently wore a shirt with her famous quote.

82. Tamra Judge calls Alexis Bellino ‘Jesus Jugs’

If there’s one thing Tamra Judge will do, it’s scream at a reunion and give an iconic Real Housewives quote. While fighting with Alexis Bellino at the Season 7 reunion, Tamra screamed, “You are psychotic Jesus Jugs! You’re psychotic!” Andy Cohen repeating “Jesus Jugs?!” was the hilarious cherry on top.

We’ll see if this moment gets referenced when Alexis reappears on RHOC Season 18. Obviously, a lot has changed since then. For instance, Tamra’s comment was followed by Alexis defending her then-husband Jim. Now, as we all know, she’s dating John Janssen.

81. Kenya Moore is Gone with the Wind fabulous

Kenya Moore gave one of the best Real Housewives moments while defending her worth to Porsha Williams. “I’ve been in this business for 20 years and I’m STILL here,” she boasted. As Phaedra Parks told her to “preach,” Kenya added, “and I’m still fabulous!” And not just fabulous, but “Gone with the Wind fabulous!” In a confessional, NeNe Leakes responded, “‘Gone with the Wind fabulous’…I was like bitch, is it movie night?”

What made this moment even better was that she kept twirling her dress. As a result, her fanbase became known as Team Twirl.

Kenya later titled a song after this. And while she had many iconic quotes and hilarious moments on Real Housewives of Atlanta, this has to be her most famous one.
