Who Won Big Brother Over the Top Last Night 12/01/2016?

Tonight either Kryssie Ridolfi, Morgan Willett, or Jason Roy took home the Big Brother Over the Top crown. It’s been a long road for all three players. Jason had to overcome the stigma of being a vet in the Big Brother house. Kryssie had to make sure she didn’t get evicted within the first few days. Morgan had to protect a major BBOTT secret.

img_2351

Now, two of them will leave California with a lot of money. The first place finisher wins $250,000, and the second place one wins $25,000. Unfortunately, the third place finisher gets nothing but their stipend money.

Going into the Big Brother Over the Top finale, it seemed heavily in favor of a Jason win.  He had a huge fanbase supporting him. He also had past Big Brother players campaigning for his win. However, the Ball Smashers and their fans were trying to fight for a Morgan win.

Tonight, Julie Chen reunited all 13 houseguests to talk about the season, and honor the final three. By the end of the hour, one person walked away with a quarter of a million dollars. So who won Big Brother Over the Top?

Kryssie was the first HG notified that she had won third place of BBOTT.  Julie Chen shared with the viewers that the battle for the winner of Big Brother was a very close race between Jason and Morgan, actually only 20,000 votes separated the two in the end.  When all the votes were counted, Morgan Willett is the winner of Big Brother Over the Top.

Ariana Madix Says She Doesn’t Want Kids Or Marriage Even Though Tom Sandoval Does

WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE -- Episode 13022 -- Pictured: (l-r) Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval -- (Photo by: Charles Sykes/Bravo)

Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval

Even though their origin as a couple was a little controversial at the time, Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix are arguably the most functional romantic pairing on Vanderpump Rules. They don’t bicker as much as the others and they always have each other’s backs, which is a rare feat in this clique. Naturally, people are wondering when the SUR employees are going to tie the knot, but Ariana has no interest in marriage or kids even though Tom does.

As of now, it doesn’t seem like the duo’s difference in opinion is causing a wedge in their relationship, so hopefully they will be able to come to a decision they both agree with. Ariana doesn’t explain why she’s not down to be a wife and mother, but she’s very emphatic about how averse she is to both concepts.

CLICK “CONTINUE READING” FOR MORE!

Ariana shared her views on the topics of marriage and children in an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. Even though Ariana is not into the marriage thing, she did say, “But, honestly, I love him. I want to be with him and we have a lot of future plans together.”

So what does that include? The bartender revealed, “They don’t necessarily involve walking down an aisle and saying vows, but we really want to buy a house together. That’s something that we’ve been really saving our money for, and we really want to travel the world together and that’s something that’s really important to both of us. And hopefully it all happens.”

Not only is a wedding not in the cards according to Ariana, but she is also not trying to be a mother. Ariana declared, “I don’t want kids or marriage” She also emphasized, “I actually really love kids, and I’m a big sister, and I have a lot of small children in my family. I love them all. And I love all my friends’ kids.”

So maybe that might change, or maybe I just have desire to see what kind of hair Tom and Ariana’s offspring would have.

RELATED: Scheana Marie Files For Divorce From Mike Shay

I might not get wish of seeing a baby with Tom and Ariana’s genetics, but she did admit, “I would maybe consider adopting later on in life. There’s something about child birth, man, I can’t get into it. I can’t get the enthusiasm that I’ve seen from other people.” She gave  the fans hope for a Tom and Ariana family in the (far away) future when she added, “Never say never, I guess.”

I would love to see some Vanderpump Rules babies at a SUR daycare one day. Okay, maybe I’m taking that a little far, but I would love to see how this show’s cast members would be as parents.

What does Tom think of Ariana’s kind of, sort of declaration on maybe adopting children later in life? Ariana said, “I think Tom’s more open to it. I think Tom grew up wanting kids, but I’ve asked him recently and I don’t know if it’s as important to him as it was before. And I think maybe the idea of adopting when we’re much older might be something he’s into. Who knows?”

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Captain Lee Calls Out Emily And Sierra For Slacking And Sarcastically Apologizes To Ben For Being Too High Maintenance

captain lee

captain lee

As Captain Lee reflects on their last charter of the season on Below Deck, he has some words of advice and thoughts on this episode for each of his crew members.

He starts out this week’s blog, “We’re on our last charter, so you would think that we would have our sh– together, wouldn’t you? The guests are a group of lovely ladies that are just out to have a good time, relax, and enjoy themselves. It’s our job to be as energetic and upbeat as we were on day one of the season. After all, the guests don’t know that they are the last charter of the season…oh wait they do, Sierra politely informed them of that. But even so, they deserve our best effort and service. Unfortunately, that sentiment doesn’t seem to be shared by all of the crew. Some are too busy slacking off and thinking of what they are going to do when this charter is over or bitching about their superiors, who only want them to do their jobs well. Well I for one have heard enough of this whining to last me a long time. Guess what, cupcake, it’s not over till it’s over, and we’re not done yet.”

Captain Lee has some positive words for Ben Robinson, commending him on his impeccable food, but adds, “I really wish you would let “Ems” get on with her work and stop being a distraction to her. I’m sure she could have gone without that back rub in the corner of the galley when she was being paged on the radio. Oh, I forgot, you don’t use a radio, and she didn’t have hers either. I feel if you would concentrate more on the galley and less on “Ems” we might all be better served. I mean really, is it your call whether the interior crew earned or deserve a break? Oh, and I apologize for being underway without consulting you first, I wasn’t aware that I had too. I’ll keep that in mind next time I need to pull the anchor and move the yacht. Seriously, it wasn’t that bad out, so save it. I didn’t see anything flying off the counters. I guess the guests’ agenda doesn’t matter that much. And by the way, you begrudge me a bowl of cereal, but you offer to make the second stew poached eggs? I didn’t realize how high maintenance I have become.”

Captain Lee has Kate Chastain‘s back when it comes to her two slacker underlings and Kate’s solid work ethic, “Kate, I thought you had your hands full with all sorts of issues and you handled them well. I’m not sure why our crew seems to be so content with being mediocre, but they certainly appear to have fallen into that snare. Not sure why stews decided to phone this last charter in, but it certainly appears that they did. I guess they thought the charter guests didn’t need toilet paper. Perhaps they thought they were going to air dry or something. And I totally get the radio thing. No one answers, no one was listening, and it appeared to me that no one except you and I cared. They were too busy fighting with each other about things that didn’t really matter. Oh and I apologize for demanding a bowl of cereal, won’t happen again. I know how much time that took to prepare. I do admire the way you stayed calm and collected, even doing their work yourself when needed to make sure the guests didn’t suffer. Well done.”

He continues to Emily Warburton-Adam. “Emily, I think that most of the issues you had on this charter could be traced back to you being distracted by Ben. Maybe, maybe not. But I thought that you did not put forth your best effort.” He adds that he hopes this doesn’t become a bigger problem in the future.

As for Sierra Storm, “Let me see if I have this correct — you get caught not doing something you’re supposed to do, which is have your radio, and you tell your superior not to take it too far. But then that’s not the first or second time that has happened I’m guessing, is it? That’s good. I think you would be better served if you spent more time working and less time fighting with Kyle and Kelley and Kate, and whomever else you consider negative and childish.”

He tells Nico Scholly, “all in all I thought that you had a pretty good week. You stepped up, worked hard, and worked well with Kelley to get things done.” He does warn him not to join in when other crew members start bashing others.

He says Kyle Dixon is doing a good job, but needs to stop needling Sierra. “Why do you insist on pushing Sierra’s buttons? If you would just let some of the things she says roll off, there would be a lot less turmoil. I have no problem with the work you are doing on board, but I do have serious concerns that you are not really working at getting along well with others.”

He’s less than thrilled over Lauren Burchnell, “Still stirring the pot I see. I’m not sure why you feel the need to talk about everyone on board, and not in a flattering fashion. I really wish you would get over it, but it’s a bit late in the game for that I suppose, isn’t it. That radio seems to be an issue with you as well. But it’s probably too late for that too I feel. Oh that’s right, it’s the last charter and you really don’t care. Isn’t that what you said. Why do I think that that has been your attitude all season long?”

He had kind words for Kelley, but still had a piece of a fashion advice, “The headband by the way isn’t your best look. But that’s just me.”

He closes out this week’s summary with, “Well, as you can tell, I’m not that pleased with the way some of the crew behaved this week, nor am I pleased with the level of service and lack of work ethic. You don’t get a break just because it’s the last charter. You need to finish the task at hand or do not embark on the endeavor. And you need to do it properly; after all, that is what we are selling here, great service, in a great atmosphere. I have to take responsibility here, because I must be doing something wrong to have the crew in this state this late in the game. I really do hate babysitting and it appears that left to their own devices, some of the crew are just not willing to perform up to standards. I just hope they snap out of it before this charter is over. So until next time, may you have the wind at your back and calm water beneath your keel!”

TELL US – ARE CAPTAIN LEE’S PIECES OF ADVICE AND OVERALL OBSERVATIONS SPOT ON? WHO IS THE HARDEST WORKER OF THE CREW?

Big Brother Over the Top: 4 Things that We’d Change About BBOTT

Big Brother Over the Top had a lot of strengths. For example, we thought this was one of the most interesting cast in a long time. We also usually enjoy a divided Big Brother house, especially if one side does not steamroll another side. However, Big Brother Over the Top left a lot of room for improvement.

img_0267

A Hollywood Reporter article confirmed that the fate of BBOTT is still unclear. Tomorrow, we might learn instantly if there will be more seasons of Big Brother Over the Top, or it might get left in limbo until the regular Big Brother season starts. Either way, we want to make a few suggestions on the key things that need fixing in a future Big Brother Over the Top season.

1. Start with a Free Month to CBS All-Access

Before Big Brother Over the Top started, CBS offered a free week of CBS All-Access. Last week, due to Black Friday deals, CBS offered a free month to new subscribers. We think that CBS should start future BBOTT seasons off by giving everyone a free month to All-Access. This will allow more people to sample the show before committing to it.

Additionally, a free month is plenty of time to get fans addicted, and ready to renew for the rest of the series. It might also get them interested in other CBS All-Access programming.

2. A More Organized Production Team

During a regular season of Big Brother, we miss all the production mishaps. Therefore, we have no problem seem some of productions’ errors. We know it happens to even the most well-oiled machine. However, we do take issues with random rule changes, and competitions that look like they were thrown together five seconds before they were played. Hopefully, CBS gives the Big Brother team a bigger budget for other BBOTT seasons, or they use some of regular Big Brother‘s budget on the webseries.

We don’t need extravagant competitions, but something more than finding hidden items throughout a corn maze.

3. All Vets or No Vet

img_0253

Undeniably, Jason Roy had an advantage going into BBOTT. He has over 65,000 followers on Twitter, which gave him an exposure that none of the Big Brother Over the Top people even came close totouching. He came in with a massive fan support that just continued to fight for him at every angle.

He also had the backing of most Big Brother alumni, even some with really huge fanbases. It just wasn’t a fair fight for the newbies, especially with how much influence fans had on this season.

Therefore, if CBS plans to do another Big Brother Over the Top, they should not include any vets, or they should only include vets so that it’s more of a fair fight.

4. Less Fan Influence

We have never been a huge fan of fan votes, but Big Brother Over the Top made us hate them. We understand that what gave BBOTT its uniqueness was the fan voting. Therefore, it cannot completely disappear, but it needs a reduction.  Maybe take away America’s nominations, but let us keep our vote.

We also say keep the Care Package twist, but take away Have-Not voting. Here’s why: reestablishing the Have-Not competitions may stop the house divide. Some of the divided house tension could have been lessened by forcing sides to work together on more group tasks, such as Have-Not competitions.

img_0285

Big Brother Over the Top was far from perfect, but it can become better. The first Big Brother season had a lot of issues, but Big Brother season 2 made it iconic. The same can happen for Big Brother Over the Top, just needs some adjustments.

Phaedra Parks On Why She Asked Kenya Moore To Help With Her Camp; Shares Her Thoughts On Kenya’s Argument With Sheree Whitfield

Kenya and Phaedra meet for tea

Kenya and Phaedra meet for tea

I never thought I would see Phaedra Parks and Kenya Moore getting along and having lunch together on Real Housewives of Atlanta – it’s a miracle. Nevertheless, I can’t help being a little surprised that Phaedra reached out to Kenya to help with her summer camp to benefit kids who are suffering because of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

It was nice to see these two putting their differences behind them to help out with a good cause, but it was tacky as hell when Kenya and Sheree Whitfield argued over their mansions (for what felt like the millionth time this season!) during a meeting that was supposed to focus on raising funds for the camp. Really though?! They couldn’t be cordial for one charitable meeting?! Shaking. My. Damn. Head. Yes, it made the episode entertaining, but the timing was absurd! As far as I saw, Phaedra didn’t get a word in during the back and forth battle, but I’m sure she has some thoughts about them stealing her shine when she was just trying to be philanthropic.

CLICK “CONTINUE READING” FOR MORE!

I figured pretty much any person would want to help victims of the Flint water crisis, so I’m not surprised Kenya was interested in Phaedra‘s event. Plus, she’s on reality TV, how could she refuse to help out with something like that in front of the cameras? Still, I couldn’t imagine Phaedra asking Kenya to help out years ago, so the tides have definitely changed.

Phaedra explained her decision to ask Kenya to participate in the event: “Given our history, there was some initial trepidation. However, since Michigan is Kenya’s home state, I knew she would want to help Flint children. I was focused more on making a beneficial impact on the community and less on the history of our relationship.”

RELATED: Kenya Moore Thinks Sheree Whitfield Is Obsessed With Her

Thankfully, Kenya was all for helping out the children, and she didn’t end up arguing about something stupid with Phaedra. However, that did end up happening with Kenya and Sheree when the whole group met up to discuss fundraising ideas.

About her costars’ disagreement, Phaedra said, “In the words of the late Rodney King, ‘Can’t we all just get along?’ I know disagreements are inevitable, but the nonstop bickering can be exhausting. I am just glad they agreed to coexist for the benefit of the Flint children.” Hopefully these two will actually get along at the actual event. It would be a damn shame if they didn’t.

TELL US – WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT KENYA AND SHEREE ARGUING DURING THE GROUP MEETING? DO YOU THINK PHAEDRA AND KENYA’S RENEWED FRIENDSHIP IS GOING TO LAST?

It’s the end of an era! As we wind down 2016, Andy Cohen announced that we’ll be saying goodbye to the Clubhouse as we know it! Andy is moving Watch What Happens Live to a bigger studio and is tweaking the name! Starting in 2017, it’ll be  known as Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Andy’s new Clubhouse is now going to accommodate 50 guests, where it only holds 22 right now. So, maybe there’s new hope for those fans who have been dying to sit in on an episode.

Bonus feature! Andy is also implementing a stage for music! Luann de Lesseps and Melissa Gorga are firing up new songs as we speak!

The new studio will be in the same building, but will now have rooftop access and more.  Andy shared with Variety, “Our new clubhouse is the perfect upgrade for us because it won’t lose any of the intimacy or lunacy provided by our current home. We’re going from an audience of 22 to about 50, plus we have roof access and a whole lot of new surprises. It’s like moving from a Tic Tac to a studio apartment.”

I get that the studio is really cramped but that’s part of it’s allure, I think. It all “feels” very indie, for lack of a better word.  Hopefully the new one doesn’t feel too fancy and “mainstream.” It might kill some of the ambiance.

I guess this will put those rumors to rest that Andy was looking to fly the coop!

Jacqueline Laurita’s Daugter Ashlee Holmes Is Launching A Bridal Business & Beauty Blog

HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY - MARCH 18: Ashlee Holmes, daughter of RHONJ Jacqueline Laurita poses at the Chris Laurita Celebrates Launch of "The Little Kernel" Mini Popcorn on March 18, 2016 in Hoboken, New Jersey. (Photo by Paul Zimmerman/WireImage)

Ashlee Holmes

Let’s give props where they’re due –  Jacqueline Laurita‘s daughter Ashlee Holmes has come a long way from being the rebellious teen we saw during the early days of Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Ashlee is now a certified makeup artist, a new mom, and an engaged woman. Not only that, but she recently announced she has two new ventures in the works: a bridal business and a beauty blog. Considering Ashlee is engaged, she is probably doing a lot of wedding research, so it makes sense to think she is in the know when it comes to all things bride.

Ashlee announced the launch of her new business ventures on social media. On Instagram, Ashlee announced her bridal business and her blog The Pretty Mamas will launch on December 26, 2016 with her friend Melanie Cimiluca, who is also a mother and a makeup artist.

Ashlee wrote, “Happy to announce that my friend @beautybymelbellles and I are going to be starting our own bridal business. Taking appointments starting NOW. Just email theprettymamas@gmail.com.”

That’s kind of vague, but I’m going to assume they will be booking hair and makeup for weddings since that is what Ashlee does for a living. I’m sure more information will be on the way as the launch date gets closer.

Ashlee also shared, “We’ve also been having a lot of fun creating a blog for those who may be interested. Follow @theprettymamas for updates. This ain’t your average mom blog! Stay tuned. #makeup #makeupartist #bridalmakeup #bridalhair #wedding #blogger”

Now, I’m just hoping that Ashlee’s new professional ventures will be a part of the next Real Housewives of New Jersey season. I feel like the heightened stress of wedding preparation usually makes for good reality TV, so I would be into that.

Don’t Be Tardy Recap: Pay For Play

Don't Be Tardy

Don't Be Tardy recap

This week’s episode of Don’t Be Tardy is ripe with all kinds of change in the air. Kim Zolciak Biermann and Kroy Biermann are anxiously waiting to hear where Kroy will end up playing and the whole family is a tad on edge with the unknown. The only solution seems to be to throw money at the problem, which sounds about right.

Despite the stress going on around her, Tracey is cool as a cucumber, thanks to a new online relationship with a gal named Lexi. She met her on Instagram and apparently, knows almost nothing about her, even though they have been talking for a month and a half. Lexi lives in New York and Tracey has yet to join the year 2016 FaceTime her. Brielle Biermann expertly points out that Tracey is “SO old” and decides to move this relationship along with a FaceTime call. One fun fact Tracey forgot to ask in her relationship is how old Lexi is (25) and both Brielle and Tracey are shocked by this news but recover quickly enough to invite Lexi to Atlanta to see this sh*t show first hand spend some much needed time together.

Don't Be Tardy recap

Ariana and Brielle are decidedly less calm and are taking swipes at each other nonstop. Some of Arriana’s choice insults for Brielle are that she’s a “Snapchat whore” and a mini version of Kim (ouch). Brielle accuses Ariana of being a “basic b**ch” for her choice in sneakers and only caring about herself. As her two oldest daughters trade jabs and smack each other with overpriced pillows, Kim sits passively, her full face of makeup refusing to register more than a tiny bemused grin. This is sisterly stuff. Kim knows they still love each other. Also, she doesn’t want to get her weave knocked off.

Kroy and Kim call a family meeting and have to preface it by reassuring everyone off the bat that Kim is not pregnant. Kroy announces it’s time to have a family day at a local funplex and no one cares until Kroy announces that whoever wins the most points from each activity gets a thousand dollars. At this point I can’t tell if Kroy just loves to show off his money, thoroughly enjoys wasting his money, or he really just doesn’t think his family can function without a cash incentive. Either way, yuck to this whole offer. I know rich people function in a whole different world but in the real world, a whole day at a funplex with your family IS the reward.

Don't Be Tardy recap

Once at the funplex, the Biermanns do go karting, bowling, and then a pretty suspect looking tightrope walk that I’m hoping is up to code. Sporty Spice Ariana (who keep in mind, is fifteen years old) easily wins the thousand dollars. Brielle wants money just for showing up. Sigh. Moving on, Tracey announces over food that her girlfriend is coming to town and she’s putting her up in a hotel instead of having her stay at her house. I didn’t realize Tracey actually had a house of her own. Here I was thinking she camped out in guest bedroom she shared with all the prototypes of Kim’s old wig line.

Brielle and her friend Zach are taking a nervous Tracey to pick up Lexi at whatever Motel 6 she put her up at. They all go out to dinner and I’m not sure why Tracey thought bringing two teenagers along to her dinner date would be a good idea. But that seems to be the least of Tracey’s bad date judgement since she leads the conversation with asking Lexi what she thinks about open relationships because “seventy percent of all marriages end in divorce unless they are in an open relationship.” Not sure where Tracey gets her statistical information but I’m one hundred percent sure that’s inaccurate. Brielle tries to steer the ship back on course and tells Lexi how wonderful Tracey is. An unmoved Lexi stares blankly until it’s her turn to talk and asks if Tracey and Brielle are going to date. Call me a pessimist, but I’m going to chalk this whole visit up as a loss.

Don't Be Tardy

The next day, as Kim gets a full face of contour, Tracey fills her in on how the date went and Kim agrees that Lexi isn’t the right person for her. It’s probably for the best – Tracey will have to work overtime cooking for all the stress eating that’s going on in the Biermann house as they continue to wait for word on Kroy’s next contract. Bananas Foster for all!

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X Episode 12 Recap: Millennial In The Middle

Survivor

Survivor

Coming on the heels of last week’s tremendously awesome double-episode that ended in a emotional rock draw, it would be asking a lot of Survivor to give us an episode with the same level of intensity the very next week. Well, it sure did its damnedest. This season continues to bring the heat, as every single one of the remaining players has clearly come to play. Now, nobody said come to play “good,” as mistakes and poor strategic game-play has driven much of the drama these past few episodes. But it was once again riveting. Survivor shows no signs of stopping as it barrels its way towards the finale in a couple weeks.

Last night’s episode was the famed “loved ones” episode, which is a milestone for most contestants playing the game to make it to this point. Let’s dive in, trying not to get stuck in the sand. The recap is forthcoming, following your normal “turn back, this is your last spoiler warning” warning.

S33_Ep12_SG_106

So boom went the dynamite! Zeke went from fan-favorite and future All-Star status, to despised by many as recently as last week, to out of the game. Even within the game, Zeke transformed from goofy outsider on his tribe, to the man that was clearly running the show out there. That’s never a good position to be in, and when everybody is commenting as to how you are poised to win the game should you make it to the end, things are bound to blow up in your face at some point.

Yes, Zeke was bound to get ousted eventually given his reputation in the game, especially when you are talking about a group of contestants that are playing as hard as these ones are. If it wasn’t clear before last week, it certainly was after, as the Zeke vs. David battle caused serious damage for both sides of the equation. On one hand, David’s Army clearly lost the battle when Jessica ended up picking the black rock, but Zeke’s game was aired out for all to see. It’s now fair to say that David may have lost that initial battle, but he has won the war. That’s part of why I love Survivor so much…after last week, who in their right mind would have predicted that not only would Zeke not outlast David, but that he’d be the next one to go?

Last night’s episode though was all about Adam. What an emotional episode for the young Millennial. When Probst announced at the Reward Challenge that it was the “loved ones” Challenge, every single person about lost it. Adam though, getting to hug and reunite with his brother, had even more at stake. His mom was sick at home battling cancer when he was cast on the show, and we have seen throughout this season just how much his mom is on his mind. Meeting up with his brother, he was able to get an update on her condition after 31 days in the game. Remember, too, that Adam possessed a game advantage that allowed him to steal another person’s Reward. In an effort that was from the heart, but also had to be partly strategic, Adam announced to everyone that he had no intention whatsoever to use his power to steal a loved one out of the arms of any of the others. A classy move. More on Adam in a bit.

Jay would go on to win the Reward Challenge, winning a BBQ feast for him and his loved one, his sister. Because Probst likes messing with people’s heads, Jay was able to pick three other players and their loved ones – picking them one at a time – to join him. He first picked Will and his mom, and then Sunday and her husband. Lastly, he chose Adam and his brother, because he admired that Adam could have stolen Jay’s reward but didn’t. Karma returned to Adam in a good way in that regard.

S33_Ep12_SG_104

Stepping away from the game for a brief moment, it brings me no pleasure to report that despite getting an update from his brother that his mom was still battling cancer, since the show was taped, Adam‘s mother Susie has passed away…just two days following the Final Tribal Council of this season. That’s roughly two weeks after the events of this episode. I personally would like to send Adam and his family my condolences, but if you are looking to help, Adam has started a Memorial Fund to raise awareness for lung cancer, which is what his mom succumbed to. The #LiveLikeSusie Memorial Fund for Lung Cancer Research has so far received $35,000 towards its goal of $50,000.

I thought that was important to share, but let’s get back to the episode and the game. After last week, we knew that we had a clear 5-4 split moving forward. The majority alliance was made up of Zeke‘s army: Zeke, Bret, Sunday, Jay and Will. The minority was now David, Ken, Hannah and Adam. So these next few votes should be predictable right? Ah, not this season.

Will – who has been portrayed as somewhat of a follower and as a fairly quiet player thus far – burst onto the scene in a big way this week. Will decided he wanted to flip and vote Zeke out, in an effort to bolster his Survivor resume. It was a good thought, because who would ever vote for Will to win the game at this point? Acting as a double-agent, he learned that Zeke’s army was poised to vote out Ken, fearing that David may have another Idol. Will showed his loyalty to his new group by telling Ken that he was the one the others were gunning for.

But dammit Ken! Everybody’s favorite gentle, polite male model showed an utter lack of game knowledge with what could be considered one of the most boneheaded moves of the season. After Will told him that the other side was gunning for him, and after lecturing Will on the importance of integrity and trust, Ken – unwittingly I’m guessing – decided to blow up Will’s game completely. Ken approached Jay and told him that he heard he was the target from Will, and all hell broke loose. Why Ken why? As a fan of the show, this move definitely added some drama and some story, but it was unneeded and unnecessary drama. As a chain of events, had Ken not said anything, Adam would not have had to use his Idol and Ken’s alliance would be in a better spot.

S33_Ep12_SG_084-1

A word on Ken: I like the dude as much as the next person (OK, some of you clearly like him way more than I ever can), but he proved to me that he has an absolute zero chance of winning the game. You can add Hannah to this category as well. Both of these players are flailing their respective ways through the game, and Ken’s blunder is surely a strike on his resume. In a season where everyone is playing balls-to-the-wall, a player like Ken is not going to win the game, not when he shows such a lack of in-game awareness. The thing about Ken is that he is so likable, that even though he can’t win, nobody is going to want to sit next to him in the end simply because he is such a good guy, so he will likely be taken out before that point. Hannah on the other hand, with each passing vote where she remains in the game, is becoming a stronger and stronger candidate for Survivor Goat.

Last week’s episode was so epic, that I did forget to mention (and so I am now) that Ken now possesses the “Legacy Advantage,” willed to him by Jessica, which we will find out more about in the coming weeks. And what a great moment when Hannah’s crush on Ken grew to include his brother too, when he came out for the loved ones challenge and she blushed, “Oh my God they’re both so handsome!”

S33_Ep12_SG_122

Adam ended up winning the #ImmunityChallenge and it all came down to Will: Would he “stick to the plan” and try to earn his “big move” by voting out Zeke, or would he vote out Ken, who just threw him under the bus, whether he intended to or not? Zeke knew that something was up when he saw the minority acting a bit too calm leading up to Tribal. And at Tribal, all was laid bare. Fearing that Will sided with Zeke’s alliance, Adam shocked the world by playing his hidden Immunity Idol on Hannah, and it worked…kind of. It negated four votes against her, but if Will had sided with Zeke, there should have been five votes. Yep, that means that Will ended up voting out Zeke after all, his big move realized. You can call this a “wasted Idol,” but it was clear that at that point in the game, nobody except Will knew exactly what Will was going to do. That still might be the case moving forward.

Will, you have to remember, is the youngest player to ever play Survivor, and with that inexperience comes the inevitability that mistakes will be made. Just like a great leader never should refer to himself as a great leader, a Survivor resume should speak for itself. By Will drawing attention to his desire to “make big moves” and to be “calling the shots,” he is actually doing his game a disservice. But give the kid credit at the same time, because his intuition served him right: He had no shot at winning the game had he just sat back and let others dictate the game for him. He had to do something. So kudos to Will, and hey who knows, he’s still in the game and as we’ve seen thus far through 12 episodes: Anything in Survivor is possible.

S33_Ep12_SG_063

Episode Take-Away: I could see it coming that Zeke was going to face a tough road to get to the end, but never did I imagine he’d be voted out now. I’m still loving how this cast is playing fast and loose with their Idols, and how every single one of them seems fearless when it comes to making big moves. We are now down to eight players vying for the million bucks and title of Sole Survivor. Ironically with Zeke out of the game, it’s now David who I think people are going to look at and say, “There’s no way we let David make it to the end, because David wins if he’s sitting there.”

Elsewhere, it continues to amaze me how Jay has been able to stay alive in this game against all odds. Part of the dying “bro alliance” with Taylor just a few weeks back, not only is nobody talking about Jay as a target, but he is quietly beginning to dominate challenges…add to that, that even a guy on an opposing alliance – Adam – thinks enough of him to just give him his Reward-Steal advantage…not to mention he has the game’s only current remaining hidden Idol. He’s tight with Bret and Sunday, and clearly has a bond with Adam, and so if the others aren’t careful, Jay may just wind up winning this thing. He’s definitely in the best position in my estimate…but as we saw with Zeke this week, that could mean absolutely nothing in a week’s time.

Strategic Move of the Week: Definitely not anything Ken did. I have to say that I think it was in Adam‘s best interest to play his Idol on Hannah not knowing what Will was going to do, but if you think about it, Will definitely made the strategic move of the week. Sure, telling Ken he was the target backfired and may end up costing Will his game in the long-run, but by voting out Zeke he definitely made a big move…and as things went down, he actually ended up drawing out Adam’s Idol to boot. That could be seen later as a great strategic move depending on what Will’s end-game is, but I think he really had no choice other than to vote Zeke out…he truly was at the bottom of his alliance and was not being valued, so he had to do something.

Voted out this week: Zeke

Won Immunity: Adam

Vote: Adam played an Idol on Hannah.  4 votes (voided by Adam’s Idol) for Hannah (Zeke, Bret, Sunday, Jay), 5 votes for Zeke (Will, David, Ken, Adam, Hannah)

Next Week’s Episode: Will tries to take charge, but Adam has other ideas. Will has now marked himself as a flip-flopper and someone the others might be able to rally behind to vote out, simply because his vote cannot be trusted moving forward. Nothing this season though, has been what it seems. Join me next week as we reset and get ready for another episode of Survivor!  See you all then and remember to leave your comments below! And lastly, remember to cast your vote for the Survivor Hall of Fame Class of 2016 by Dec 2!

TELL US – WHO IS IN THE BEST POSITION TO WIN SURVIVOR? DO YOU THINK VOTING OUT ZEKE WAS A SUCCESSFUL MOVE FOR WILL OR WILL IT END UP HURTING HIS GAME?  WHO SHOULD I INCLUDE ON MY SURVIVOR HALL OF FAME BALLOT?
